I was referred here by a long time local. Said it’s the only place he takes his vehicles. I brought my car in thinking there was a bigger problem than there actually was. They looked it over and told me the issue. I elected to do the work myself was only charged with a diagnostic (they traced all my wires on wiring harness). They even assisted in pushing the car on and off the trailer at drop off and pick up. They staff is friendly and they keep you informed throughout the whole time they are working on the car. Also the tire shop is fast and fair prices. I would recommend this shop to anyone.

Great service with fair prices.on separate occaions;-wiring harness was replaced due to rodents chewing on it.-tune-up completed-breaks inspected-both catalytic converters were replaced-speed sensor was replacedno issues from any of the above work. and great customer service.

Amazing that these people get anyone to pay their prices and then have them wait for 6 hours.. Youre gonna save a few hundred bucks and not waste your day, simply by going somewhere else..

Had them fix a flat and rotate tires on my truck, they finished it quickly and the mechanic double checked with me to make sure I knew the tire sensors would update after a few miles which i definitely appreciated.

It is what it is...tire place. Good people. As for mechanic it is what it is.

Been going here 6 years or so. Never again. Every time my wife goes in alone, theres a problem. Wife went in with a tire that had been damaged with a nail and repaired with Fix-a-Flat less than two days earlier. Roys / 29 Palms Tire Pros refused to patch the tire saying the Fix-a-Flat had damaged the tire and sold her a new tire. She let me know while she was there and I was stunned. I have used Fix-a-Flat for almost 30 years - never had a tire place refuse to fix a tire because of it. Were talking name brand Fix-a-Flat, not some knock-off. We do a lot of desert off-pavement driving. We have used Fix-a-Flat dozens of times and never had a problem with tire repairs because of it, even at Roys. I called my mechanic, that also uses Fix-a-Flat, and two other tire stores. They all said the same thing - there should be no problem repairing a tire that had been repaired with Fix-a-Flat. *Maybe* if it had been in there a long time, sure, but not less than two days. Its just a pain to clean out - yeah, I know. I drove over and asked to see the tire. It took a long time to produce it. The desk lady came out with the tire and a pile of rubber scrapings as evidence that the Fix-a-Flat damaged the tire. It was just the scraping of the Fix--Flat that had been cleaned out, likely in the time it took to produce the tire. The interior of the tire looks brand new, as expected. They straight up ripped off my wife and sold her a new tire when it was not necessary. This was not some cheap tire either - this was a six month old Hankook. Make your own judgments, but I will never go there again.

Good prices friendly staff make appointment staff times everything well to avoid long wait times for basic service.

29 Palms has a limitless minefield of potholes and when one of then busted my tires, these people were able to see me right away and get me back on the road. I keep going back because they know what theyre doing.

The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. I had to get my tire patched because something punctured my tire while driving on base. It only cost $25 and they did it all in under an hour. I would totally recommend this place to anyone living in the area.

Went in for an alignment and ended up spending over $1100 and nothing was communicated well. Only reason I went threw with this cause I had a family emergency across the country and needed it done. Awful.

Had to make an appointment but didnt have time as I was going back home to vegas I could tell its a great place as the lady at the front desk was very nice and welcoming as soon as I want them now like most places where they ignore you for 5-10 minutes even if youre the only one standing there and the reviews and how crowded it was I wish I was able to have them work on my vehicle but ended up doing it myself but Ill definitely stop in there next time when Im visiting this town. and the hell with the other mechanics in this town just the reviews alone made me not want to even drive by them but it doesnt surprise me being in any small town its always where all the crooked mechanics & shop owners end up by taking advantage of passes through this and have no other choice but to use them glad I didnt.

Long story short: This place has taken two days longer than quoted to do an oil change, transmission fluid change and diagnostic of a check engine light. With no call or updates given this is unprofessional and unacceptable.I was quoted as a same day project. I showed up firstvin line at 8 am. Without a phone call or warning they had to keep my vehicle overnight, promised to be done the next day. Then AGAIN with no call nor warning informed me (after I showed up) that it would not be ready. Today they finally told me that my vehicle had not even been touched at lunch time but would be done by the end of the day... That means for a simple 3 hours of labor they are rushing to do it at the end of the day.Completely unacceptable.

Came in at 1230 not realizing they closed in 30 minutes. The guys and gals were gracious enough to help me replace all four of my tires. Thanks again!

I have not had service done here. Came to have two tires changed out ( I was told by another auto shop I needed new tires asap) The woman at the counter checked by tires and let me know I had more time in my tires. I appreciate the honesty and will be back when I need my cars serviced. Honesty is very much appreciated!!

Friendly and fast smog check. I was a walk in. Their employees are polite, courteous and of course friendly. They even have women mechanics! And a soda vending machine, lots of magazines to browse while ya wait. And if you want to look at tires...well, they got them too. Lots of them! I intend to recommend this business when the situation ever arises. ✌

I have always taken my cars/trucks here and they do honest, great work! They are also wonderful at treating customers well. My elderly father had a truck they had to keep for a day, and someone actually gave him a ride home. It was very thoughtful and above and beyond what is expected for customer service. Great place!

These people are the only ones I trust with my car repairs. I have been going there since the late 90s when Roy repaired my tire after he was closed because nobody else was open. That kept me from being stranded in town overnight and I told him right then he had me as a customer for life.They are friendly, fast, and reasonable with their prices.

Rude and still didnt fix the problem. I listened as they lied to a guy who set an appointment, showed up early and waited 5 hours for a tire to be patched and an alignment, then they decided to do the oil afterwards and dropped the filter as they pulled his car out losing all the oil. They said it would be another 2 hours to fix it because they had appointments. Ridiculous. I asked about tire pricing and was told they were too busy. I dropp thousands on good tires. I dont care. My life is on the line and so is that of others. My tires matter. Its okay though. I know where Big O is located. Thanks anyway.

I am a retired ASE Master Mechanic, I no longer have the desire or physical ability to work on my vehicles. Mark Speer Automotive is the ONLY place I will take my vehicles. Great customer service and professionalism! I had gone to another place in 29 palms that was the complete opposite of MARK SPEER. I am glad I went here. If you are in 29 palms and military go here. There is another mechanic with decent reviews (I do not want to discredit their name) but in my experience with two repairs did a horrible job with even worse customer service. Once again if you want good service in 29, MARK SPEER is the place.

Will only trust them with my tire, and mechanical needs. Down side, if you buy tires from Mark Spear. You can ONLY balance and rotate M-F(Sat. Half staff and they Wont do it). And if it is raining or to windy they Wont do it due to the guys have to work outside. Besides this great shop.

Have experience with them from my car and through work. Theyre always helpful, polite and the prices are reasonable. Had my O2 sensors replaced in my 350z and will continue to use them.

Stopped here as a walk-in to get my car smogged as it was right next to the DMV. The staff was really friendly and the prices were listed on the side wall (which I would have preferred to see behind the staff rather than next to them, but it wasnt a huge problem). About 25 minutes and 50 dollars later, my car was given the all clear and I was able to take the certificate straight to the DMV. I would recommend this place to anyone that needs to make a quick pit stop as it is much better than some of the other smog places I have visited.

BEWARE OF THIS PLACE! Especially, if U are a woman. They WILL take Advantage of you.1st. They changed my oil. Mechanic said, I had an oil leak. For months, i drove around stressing over my car. Debating whether it was worth keeping. Day b4 the car is scheduled for iol repair. I was attacked by a pit bull. Next day, suffering a heart attack and nearly bleeding out. They kindly rescheduled the car appt. Finally, I am able to keep 3rd attempt to repair oil leak that THEIR MECHANIC claim to have seen. So, i am a lil dazed from the events that I endured i signed & paid mech. bill. Later, my son in law looked at the receipt and noticed, that CHEATED ME. I PAID 4 AN OIL LEAK INSPECTION THAT THEY CLAIM I HAD. THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO CLEAN TOP OF MOTOR..THAT OLFART ON THE INSIDE SAID, OH MY ENGINE SHINES. IN WHOSE WORLD. NOT UNDER MY HOOD. THE LEAVES QERE STILL ON TOP. I PAID FOR 2 BOTTLES OF CLEANER. ITS SAD, THEY WERE AWARE OF THE DOG ATTACK AND A FEW OTHER HORRIBLE INCIDENTS. THEY CHEATED ME ANYWAY..SHAME ON U 2 AT THE FRONT DESK.....ROYS TIRES ARE COLD BLOODED FOLKS.....BEWARE ALL YOU WOMEN!!!!

This place is not like it used to be. My friend has purchased 8 tires since Jan for his jeep, even though they have him pay for the warranty road service he still gets stuck with purchasing a new tire. So I have invoices for 8 new tires but the jeep only has 2 new, 2 fair and 1 fair spare. Doesnt add up, last time they told him he had to pay or he couldnt get his vehicle out. Not very nice or professional

Cant recommend this place enough. They ordered a part and found out it needed a tool to install it that cost 1500.00. Instead of ordering the tool and charging me they found a way to repair the part and save me money. Most automotive places will charge you for whatever they can. This place found a way to save me money. Very honest people.

I️ brought my 89 bronco in because it was leaking coolant and over heating. I️ will say they were great with keeping me informed but after everything was done it cost around $680. Not even 5 hours after I️ picked it up I had to pull over because it was over heating and leaking coolant. Didn’t even make it 20 minutes down the road. Literally paid for them to do nothing but rob me.

Had to get my vehicle smogged;( got totally ripped off by Mark Mayes of Smoggys in Yucca Valley - see review I wrote on Smoggys website for the gruesome details Id rather forget but not the lesson I learned.) The folks at Mark Speer Automotive were genuinely polite & very professional. They successfully smogged my vehicle;not finding nor making a big deal about my vehicles engine emissions like Mark @ Smoggys did. They even knew of the Catalytic converter fairly tale b.s. lie Mayes @ Smoggys tells his new customers. I highly recommended Mark Speer Automotive. To Hell with Smoggys, I am going to return to Mark Speer Automotive.
