CAUTION: Please be cautious if considering this studio as an option for your child.I wish there was an option to leave zero stars. Joey’s treatment of others, (in front of his class), is simply unacceptable and unprofessional. From what I have seen in the two months that my child has attended his class, I can describe Joey’s demeanor as belittling and incredibly disrespectful towards others.Joey’s behavior seems to be erratic and unpredictable. I have witnessed him “flip” for no apparent reason, becoming angry and ranting relentlessly, leaving parents baffled as to what was happening. What’s worse, I have also seen him be insensitive to his students. In addition, I have seen him become angry and berate parents and family members. In the two months that I have been at Unleash It, I have witnessed at least three instances in which Joey yelled at a parent or family member; once for stepping foot onto the mat on accident, once for standing up to leave AFTER class was finished, and for moving seats during class because the podium was blocking the view. (There is a very large podium positioned directly in the center of the studio, making it difficult to see.) He repeatedly called these parents “annoying”. Again, this happens during class, IN FRONT of his students and their families, for everyone to hear. While Joey may know taekwondo and have the ability to teach it to students, I have watched him set a very poor example for the children in terms of what it’s like to be respectful to others. I strongly encourage you to consider other options for your child.
Awesome atmosphere. Instructor is a excellent professional and a positive enforcement to everyone. He welcomes everyone and truly cares to help or teach anyone whatever they desire to achieve. I recommend him more than anyone when working with kids. This place is more then martial arts investment. Its a life impact of goodness.
