I rented a walk behind track loader and augers last spring. It was smoking so bad people called the fire department. TWICE! & I STILL HAD TO PAY $270! I only rent from this place cuz its convenient and its next door to my house. Hey Home Depot why dont you pay Employees better and get better product....

I recently rented a dethatching machine from the Tumwater WA store. I stopped by on a Saturday to pick up the machine, hoping to rent it for 24 hours (the way similar rental stores work around here), so I would be able to return it first thing Monday morning. I was told that wasnt possible, and Id have to return the machine within 24 hours. I agreed to that. Upon getting home I started to use the machine, it would run for about a minute then quit. Trying to get it to restart was almost impossible. Out of frustration I called Home Depot to inform them that Id be returning the machine the following morning (it was already late in the afternoon). Did I mention I live 30 miles away? I picked up a different machine the next day to do the job, What a difference! I found out also that I could have rented the exact same machine from a local rental agency for $47 and kept it for the entire weekend, instead of the $71.50 Home Depot charged. All in all, this was a terrible experience from and otherwise excellent company.
