Discriminatory practices. They will send out benefit renewal notices the day before your renewal period ends, so that there will be a break or discontinue in benefits. The mail post date of course will state differently because the Oklahomas right-winged government lies to its citizens anyway. They will let children go hungry in homes so they can keep their CPS caseloads full. But, they kill children in their custody by putting them with unfit foster parents and group homes. Theyve been lying to me for weeks about my case. Incorrect information on my case file. Giving me false caseworker names and phone numbers. This phony, pro-life, bible-belt state. Im about to fly away from here and hope that I never have anymore children to depend on this DHS.
What happened to this PLACE??!! Nothing is inside almost. My case has been moved to Muskogee county and my worker and her supervisor are rude and power abusive.
Had the best experience ever at a government agency. After battling with several issues online and via the 800 number with no resolution, these two women took care of everything with the best attitude and efficiency. Thanks you thank you thanks you
Super nice staff. And they got me in and out right away to answer questions pertaining to some information I needed answers to.
This is the main dhs office for tulsa. You also have Oklahomas probation and parole office here among others who occupy spaces. If using dhs youll find they move pretty quickly here and get thru people and your wait to be seen is normally no more then 15-20 minutes at most. They are usually very helpful and knowledgeable here.
Cant reach anyone by phone or online treat everyone like its a problem to serve anyone with assistance for help
They have their phone lines shut off so they don’t have to deal with calls wonderful
Been trying to get a reach of them for 2 days now and no one pick up the phone.
Poor service and customer relations.
Seem as this ependimic has made it very hard to get certain items like being told from two different offices that I would receive my supplemental payment debit card use for medical appointments and medication but that was in March then in May now told that I need to go downtown to get debit card this has been a night mare not wanting to go since I am disable physical handicap not able to stand or sit for any length time and transportation is another thing trying to get there and seeing a representative in a manner time. Will try to call and see about that and see about getting Sooner care card unable to print Will need it next two weeks for back appointment
Better have an email address or phone number. Good luck reaching anybody. Oh yes, there is a drop box at the door for papers you need to leave. Not criticizing its just a Covid thing.
Very smooth transition through checkpoint upon entering building. Clean and plenty of space and seating. Very helpful female employee assisted me in fi sing the correct desk to pick up my bus pass from my caseworker. Celebrated my new job by doing a little dance with the officer at the front. Very friendly very helpful people. 💖
I’ve been calling since yesterday can I get a hold of anybody of this phone number or the Oklahoma DHS life phone number this one says to leave a message and it just hangs up right after it says it the other one just says all operators are busy what’s going on?
Worst service ever! Would give zero stars if it was an option. Never received EBT card. Without card cannot access account. Cannot access account to request new card. Nobody answers phones to request card.
I would give it a higher star but I literally got discriminated in my 1st case but in my second case I won and got a way better worker that actually work with me!
These places never change typical gov department jst like dmv services like they bout to pay u out of their own pockets attitude
Still waiting dang it in hungry
They never answer the phone. Because of this I cant renew my food stamps. Ridiculous!
Well The DHS building was sold while we’re probation that is so it’s not there anymore we don’t know where the new location is but it’s pretty cool there in that building I like it I like to go in there maybe they’ll turn it into something cool
When I conduct business here the staff and officers are always pleasant, friendly and helpful. There attitude encourages my growth thank you Department of Human Services.I appreciate your kinder.Carissa Coburn.
Call orngo earlynsend quickly
Worker was very friendly & helpful in our time of need. She understood and listened and gave us the help we needed at that time.
Closed due to Covid. By appointment only. I called a customer service line and they were very helpful.
They just wanted to tell me to wait in line for what seemed like forever, just to tell me I dont qualify for anything. Even know I am a homeless vet that is continuing to look for work. Which is hard to find work because people look over me after I got into trouble with the law in 2013. What happened to second chances, seems like you have to know someone for anything to get done. Witch I fought for equal rights not who you know rights. Think thats more of a dictator ship then what we are suppose to be in the United States. But hay, I will keep on the good fight and know at least I am free and there is someone out there waiting to give that chance. We just havent crossed paths yet. I know this whent on to be alot more then just a review on this place, but hey got to get things out sometimes. Not healthy to hold it in. #justbeyourself.
Had to turn in some paperwork. Went around 10am on a Wednesday near the end of the month. No lines. In and out in less than 10min. I was surprised at how easy it was.
The lady at the first window she was very respectful and very helpful. Which something you usually dont get when you visit dhs. She made what we thought was going to be a hassle actually very simple and fast. I dont know her name I just remember she was a petite white lady with I believe short blondish brown hair. but I would like to thank her for being so helpful
I observed this office help more than 40 people in 90 minutes. The staff is curious and kind to all that come through. They are clearly there to help those that need it. I spoke with several of the staff, everyone of them was kind and informative. For the most part I observed the in-out time to be about an hour for most cases. Definitely a GREAT place to seek out the help u may need.
The majority of the people that work on the 2nd floor are mean. They act as if they are better then everyone else. Cant remember a time that I walked up to a window and got a smile. Trying to take care of 3 foster kids and 3 birth kids and they make it harder to get stuff done.
This office is great. The employees hello you without looking at your like a bum. Lines always go fast. Plenty of help and resources
Less than friendly staff at the reception window. And about an hour before closing, the line of customers waiting to speak to reception was long and their wait had been over an hour. At this point they reduced the staff at the window from two to one. Why in a known crunch time would they reduce staff? I would think it would be a logical time to increase the staff. Once again, a demonstration of the well known social problem of those in the greatest need being served the least. Will it not ever give way to simple logic? Not yet.
They were very helpful and very informative. They never answer their phones. U have to physically go to their office.Other than that I would have given 5 stars.
So much better than it used to be. Hardly any waiting, just make sure you have all of your paperwork ready.
Slow process for anything, but they do their best to take care of everyone.
Never talked to anybody just always on computer
Staff was pleasant. I was surprised at how quickly things got done. Considering the amount of people who came through while I was there, it was a much better experience than I expected!
They do a lot for people girls are responsible for handling a lot of taxpayer-funded freebies so yall should be happy so I give it five stars because it does nothing but helps even when people scam it it helps.
Good service
Always helpful when needed. Some staff arent very friendly. Patience is a virtue here.
Building closed to public for pandemic.
Wow! Things have certainly changed at DHS since they introduced the online application website (OKDHSLIVE!)I went into the office with anticipation of a day long wait with a line snaking halfway around the building.Instead, I was delighted to find myself FIRST in line and spoke to the receptionist almost immediately.I showed her my completed form which I had the presence of mind to request by phone a few days prior because that option was not available on the website. The form was mailed to me the same day requested (Friday) and I received it Monday and returned it Tuesday. After a very brief (less than 10 minute) wait, I saw a social worker and apparently my form was processed and application approved the same day! This was the least stressful experience I have EVER had at DHS; youre doing fine, Oklahoma!
Long lines
Im required to wear a mask, but 3 security guards(in close proximity) are NOT??? The numbers on the only entry door, are either disconnected or selling a timeshare. The website would not let me apply! Headache
I always get great help from these people.I think they are awesome.
Hate this place
Ashley was calm, respectful and cheery. Quick too.
Hard to navigate building first time. Thankful for helpful people. Quick wait with dhs.
I didnt have to wait too long to talk to someone, and the lady I talked to was helpful. But, I was told that I could not accomplish anything today because my case worker is out of the office.
Spoke to the Peoria office on the phone and they assured me that they or the downtown office could help me, so I went downtown. Got to the desk and the lady pulled my account and insisted that she could not help me at all. Said I had to wait 24 months since last benefits and it supposedly had only been 22. Stumped and irritated I went back out to the car and called the Peoria office to see what the problem was. Come to find out it had been 26 months since I last had benefits, ending in June. No big deal, Ill just go back upstairs and let her know thatit had been 26 months. Well I went to a different window than the first time and the lady absolutely refused(with attitude) to help me or look into my case at all because the first lady wouldnt help me. I then had to ask for a supervisor to come out and speak to me. after she tried to deny me help, I finally was able to explain to her what the issue was and they finally helped me all while being reluctant and rude the whole time. Not how you should treat people at all. Not one of the ladies would quit being rude long enough for me to get a word in to try to let them know THEY MADE A MISTAKE and it could be fixed. I know its embarrassing to be wrong but they sure didnt have to take it out on me. I will never go back to this office ever again. So unprofessional and rude!
Be careful
I cant think of anything good to say about them!!!They destroy families and not just ones whith a abusive investmentsBut there whole system is designed to get the fathers out of the home and make the woman and children dependent on them!!!
The service here was fast. The lines were not long and the receptionist was resourceful and prompt. The security ask if they can assist as they screen you and belongins.
Great staff, super friendly and there to help you.
The person at the window was very nice, curious, and giving information when people call before going makes a difference.Sorry I took some your time, Im human too
Got there with nobody in line and was able to complete my business in record time Im pretty sure. Lol
Long wait. Person at counter out of 4 others was the only decent person. The worker didnt help. Made situation worst. just really didnt say anything helpful and didnt offer other places that may help immediately like food pantries/banks.
Friendly staff and not much wait time. So much better than a long time ago.
This is a difficult local agency to rate simply due to the nature of the beast. Expect a line and a small wait period to initially file your application. Also, some of the staff can be very friendly and helpful, while others are not. In their defense, some of the people who go here are very rude to the employees and its apparent.Bottom line, they will treat you with respect as long as the same gesture is returned.
Cant stand this place. The staff is very rude and I can never get anything done here. I would recommend north Tulsa DHS
Weve only had one visit here that wasnt good. Every other time we have had to come down to the office we have been treated with courtesy and respect. You have to expect to spend time there, it is a government facility. Im rating the employees, not the government service.
Not a single complaint. Great people who really care.
I had a wonderful experience at this Dhs they actually care to help you.
Very long wait times and they rush you out quickly after what it seems like a five minute strip search when you arrive
Very quick and the lady behind the counter went out of her way to help so I could make it to a doctors appointment.
Do their job as politely and cheerfully as possible. Most People That Work Here Dont Fall Into The Public Service Worker Stereotype. Never left here unhappy.
This office is not the problem but some of their workers really need some adjustments done to their ethics. I arrived at 9am and wasnt seen until 1:52 only when I decided that my patience level was stretched to far. I am not sure why being courteous to people in Tulsa is a complicated task. This has been an awful experience for me. I did need some help but I will ask for it in Tulsa. Pam Nolt is an awful person who cant even discuss an issue with a client. She is a contemptible woman that needs to be eliminated. Try going to another state Tulsa is an awful state.
Try to answer all questions need more people working again to get more cases done faster
As a disabled single mother I have been able to receive much needed help and referrals for help with things they dont
Surprisingly efficient. Only two windows going. I was in and out in 30 mins
Service is getting better no longer have to wait for a long period of time
Dont waste time in calling. They never pick up the phone calls...
The satellite offices seem more helpful than the main one. Maybe it just has to do with the volume of people they see.
The building wherein this place is located houses several other government agencys which makes it convenient.
Very helpful employees and very timely processing paper work
Overworked, understaffed, underinformed and often uncaring caseworkers. Impossible to get through to anyone by email or telephone. A phone call will either render a never ending busy signal, a distinct and purposeful hanging up in your face, or simply an automated pickup that routes you to a full mailbox. If you need help, I hope its not urgent because it wont be handled as such. Needs a complete overhaul and reform. Sad state of affairs that our DHS service is currently in for our citizens.
I had to take a friend to do some paper work. It was quick and simple in and.put in less than hr.
Its a new gigantic outside shop. Anything & Everything from A to z. Its at. Pittsburg & Admiral going east on admiral,,1&1/4 blocks from pittsburg on Southside of street..
Everytime I go to the DHS office downtown to renew my benefits I always have to call the OKC office to get information on my case. First of all the downtown location gives me false information as to when my benefits will be on my card. Or, there was an issue pertaining to my documents not being scanned. When I left the downtown location I was informed that my benefits would be on my card within 30minutes - couple of hours. Its been two days exactly and still nothing. I even called the downtown location for information and was sent to a voicemail that told me it was full and hung up on me.
Case worker help me with undetstanding my problem. Solved with ease. Thank you.
Polite service a difficult thankless job. Keep up the work.
I give security a five star for having to calmly deal with a very unstable individual screaming she was going to sue them if they discarded something she was not supposed to bring in the building. Kudos to you gentleman.
Ive taken a few friend here to help them get assistance.Im not impressed with any of the employees attitudes. They are very rude to people. They need to start showing people a bit more respect.
Very helpful and still working through opportunities.
No not really crowded got in and out pretty quick
This place was dingy and confusing as heck. The pepole that work here seem to all be friendly but not to helpful. My mom was displaced from hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico. I brought her to Tulsa to live with me untill things get better. She was able to get food stamps but no one seems to know a thing about health care, translating or help with employment. This place is dated. It felt like the 1980s in here. I dont think Oklahoma really cares for Latinos that much, or folks displaced by natural disasters. At least thats what it felt like.
The ppl there are great helping to keep familys in safe homes
They are closed and turning it to a VA hospital.
Not enough employees. Although the gentlemen who helped me was awesome.
Never can get ahold of people down there and plus when you call you can never leave a message. They need to upgrade there stuff or get a better people in the offices.
The lady was very helpful in the downtown Tulsa location.
It OKDHS you are going to walk into a bureaucratic mess with people giving you the run about. now there two types of ppl there the majority who dont care and the minority who do care and want to help but there not much they can do.
I am a stay at home mom for the moment. I went here to apply for food stamps and got a very rude caseworker she was very short with me she asked if i had check stubs i told her im not working my bf was the only one working and i dont have access to his check stubs. I told her i didnt have them she says well if you knew you were coming to apply for food stamps why didnt you bring them i told her he has to ho online to print them off. She really hurt my feelings.
Good service provided to me! Their service was beneficial to me.
HORRIBLE ABSOULTLY HORRIBLE! Never answer phones, never send mail on time. Perfect example of what a company should NEVER RUN LIKE!
Good resources for family but systems that are wrongly ran.. No justice in cases with no money!!!
No way to reach on phone, and they dont explain anything to you. Typical for dhs.
Call 3x & was rude the 1st time & hung up pn me the 2nd & 3rd time.very upset about it.exspeciallt after needing answers
They were quick almost no wait
Staff was very helpful and polite.
Needed directions to give to the Tulsa transit lift. And it was very helpful.
