The Arizona Daily Star is a very pleasant place to visit. I went there to inquire about what they did with there old papers. I was planning on making a pinata, the security guard was so very helpful. He was able to give me three free rolls of paper that I was able to make the pinata I was making. As well asfour other ones.I really appreciated their generosity.
Ive been trying for six months to get AZ D Star to STOP tossing there Essential Shopper garbage onto my driveway! Ive called 5-7 times and asked politely. This is littering! I travel for work extensively, and have 4-7 of there papers in my driveway when I return home. This is a great advertisement for burglars that no one is home! Jesus.
Never had such a rude person talking to me. I was calling because I had cancelled my subscription which the person delivering my paper acknowedged because the delivery stopped. However I noticed I was still being charged a fee for 3 months. When I called to explain the billing problem the man I talked to said my account was open and when I tried to explain why it wasnt and everyone on my end must have taken care of it locally because the delivery stopped. He insisted that wasnt true because his computer showed my account was open. When I asked to talk to his supervisor he said no. Your account is open and if you want to cancel it I can take care of that. I said, Can you talk to my my delivery person? He said, Im in Tennessee, I cant talk to your delivery person. I have never had such a rude person and apparently I wasnt going to get to talk to anyone but him. No local phone number on their local site. I have been a customer for over 50 years, but no more.
Unbelievably apathetic and unfriendly outfit. They did not allow me entrance to their building. I needed to talk to a human being and explain the reasons for my visit. Two different messages over the phone to the sports section have not been returned.I dialed the number on this site and got a blatantly rude young female who didnt even care to listen to me, etc. This is not the Daily Star of my childhood. This is not a typical Old Pueblo outfit. All the staff I had the ordeal of addressing in person, in site, and over the phone should not be allowed to deal with the public. Utterly repulsive, the whole bunch.
The people, learning new stuff and relearning what I knew before. And trying to make sure the customers were Happy.
I am a carrier here, and even though its late nights and early mornings, the warehouse crew is always happy and polite. The job isnt perfect, but what job is? Thank you to the readers and subscribers who count on me daily. If it werent for your loalty, I may not be working. Please tell friends and family to subscribe!!!!!!
ONE STAR IS ONE TOO MANYRegarding Subscription Renewal: Is the Arizona Daily Star going out of business? I was unable to contact anyone at the Tucson, location; however I was able to leave a voice mail.“Good News”, I was able to converse with outsourced folks from India, at the 1-800#. “Bad News”, I was unable communicate with them as I am not bilingual, and suffer from only being able to speak English.I recognize the cost of the paper continues to rise, however, $150.00 per quarter to $200.00 seems a little steep. Maybe, Amazon sells the Arizona Daily Star for less?It is a sad day having to discontinue service, especially after having home delivery for 15+ years. Thanks for the memories!
After years of not getting the Az Star for different reasons I attempted to subscribe to a digital plan with weekend delivery of a hard paper. This process seemed to be one bad experience after another for me. I tried to subscribe online but it wouldnt accept my credit card. I called in and a guy helped me and gave me one rate for digital and the weekend papers. 2 days later my account was cancelled for unknown reasons. Today I called again and after a 25 min hold finally got through to a lady from India whom I could barely understand. She had no idea why I got cancelled right after subscribing but she offered me a higher rate for the same thing. Well guess what, that doesnt work for me. I feel sad in a way cause the paper used to be a way to maintain a sense of community here. Now the paper seems to be a big joke that nobody reads and I can see why.
In a way it was also my fault because I went before 3:00 which is cut off time. The lady was nice . We did alot of changing and some things were delected which was very important, like the day & date of memorial. I called on Monday but they would not ran it with corrections for wed. They said they could correct it On Line! I was very upset. For a tiny advertisememt of $ 485.00.I will never advertise again. Maybe thats why theyre losing a lot of customers .!!!! Too costly....
I love the Caliente and the local section keeps me informed. Cathy and Kathy are amazing- dont know how they keep up! with the many events in town. I miss Gerald Gay though...
The Arizona Daily Star is obscenely expensive to run an obituary. I believe they raised their prices three times in 2018. Zero customer service and they have a block on incoming emails after they solicit a response for approval to run an obit. Extremely unprofessional and more expensive than the Boston Globe, or New York Times-which are far more expensive markets than Tucson. No wonder everyone there will be out or a job in short order with that papers lack of customer service, accessibility to assistance and that nasty Jennifer in the obit department sending proof obits with a block on her incoming emails. Expects return responses and gets nasty after sending a plethora of legal garbage that no one reads and reprimanding me for the block she has on her REPLY to email link. I will direct people to keep their cash rather than dealing with dying paper that cares nothing about the customer or customer service when all they are is a SERVICE PROVIDER.
Delivered rolls of paper. Very friendly employees. Plenty of room to maneuver into either dock you go into. Truck/delivery entrance is off East Irvington Road, west end of building.
Good part time gig easy hours easy pay
I worked there for a day. About 15 minutes after starting work a temporary worker, who it turns out was drunk, hit me in the leg with a pallet loader and broke my ankle. Good newspaper though, very informative but obviously leftist leaning.
Love the paper.Their customer service/subscription employees leave a lotto be desired, however.
Its fun to see inside a newspaper wherehouse
