This place is the best place in Portland to take your vehicle. Prices are fantastic for labor because this is a non-profit auto shop. Daniel, the owner, trains new mechanics to work on cars and then their work is checked by two fully qualified mechanics. Daniel is a terrific and honest person. If you are a woman who has a fear of taking your car to a mechanic because you think theyre going to rip you off I strongly suggest you take your car to this place. Their work is excellent and you will be pleasantly surprised when you get the bill. I recently moved to Washington but visit Oregon often and will continue to take my car to this place for routine maintenance. This is going to be the place I bring my vehicle when I need to get the timing belt replaced. :-)

Great business. Got an automotive problem? Let these guys use your vehicle to teach young men how to work on cars. The prices are great the people are great and the work they did was great. I will definitely go back.

I thought that I was going to have a huge headache.. However Dan from Bobs auto cafe went out of his way to get things right. Dan was gr8 with returning emails and phones. The issue I had wasnt even Bobs auto cafe fault. But like I said they treated me gr8.. Everything he said he was going to do he did it.. Hands down.. Im totally satisfied.. Dan runs a great shop. It is refreshing to know a mechanic is looking out for you and your safety. Very honest prices for repairs and he kept me up to date on all progress along the way. He let me know about issues I need to look at in the future and how to identify them if the become a problem. Will definitely be back to have work done on my other cars.

Great place I highly support there cause

I am completely blown away with the service and value of Bobs Auto Cafe. I have never been to a better shop. The owner, Dan greeted me with a smile and a handshake and looked me right in the eye. Small things like that mean a lot to me. I got set up with a maintenance plan that makes sense and wasnt up-sold and the price for service was more than fair. I have never looked forward to bringing my car to the shop before but somehow theyve achieved this feat. I wouldnt go anywhere else.

Bobs Auto Cafe is a little out of the way, however I am impressed. I mean IMPRESSED! I knew I had some brake issues, but was slow to address them due to finances. Unfortunately, I waited too long which caused greater damage. Ouch!First, I was treated with respect. Then the staff worked with me to come up with the most economical way to be safe, yet address my needs. New problems were discovered (why I fear car repairs) but I was encouraged to just address my most pressing need, the brakes. With a little breathing room we (they) were able to figure out how to correct the other major issue for approximately what it would have cost down the street, for just a typical brake job. My family is safe and I am very pleased!Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

This place is a Crock they claim to help people that are in need of auto repair and cant pay the normal fees that you would pay at a normal auto shop after calling and clearly stating I was on a fixed income, I was quoted the same ballpark for the same service from other auto shops. If you are someone who is in need of auto service and on a fixed income there are real shops that want to help you. If you can make the trip to Vancouver,WA The Carpenters Garage will help you with low cost maintenance
