My RV tech recommended this business. Im so happy he did, because my experience was fantastic. The mechanic (Charley) was a real pleasure to deal with. He explained everything, and offered advice and tips to keep my rig in good condition. He was very cheerful about having to work in 100+ degree heat, with no shade. I will call this business again, should I need auto services.

Dont waste your time or money with this business. Their service advisor Jimmy is as unprofessional as it gets. His loyalties are to himself first and always, followed by taking your money any way he can as a close second. And he is not opposed to lying or cheating you out of it, either. He is an honest and outright fraud in every way, but that wont stop him from trying to convince you otherwise. He constantly brags about himself to anyone that will listen. To sum up his character with a story: He showed up drunk to tow a company truck off the side of the highway, using the company tow truck. Drove off with the work truck only halfway loaded and then lost control and drove the tow truck right in to a tree. Snapping the tree in half and ruining the fence of a local business (never took responsibility for the damages). But more importantly, he forgot about the employee that was still sitting in the cab of the work truck being towed and put his life in danger. Youd think that was as bad as it gets, but he then blamed the accident on that same employee because he does not have a CDL and had no business ever being in that tow truck. Having no regular license as a result of his multiple drunk driving charges means he probably doesnt have much business driving around in a truck with the companys logo on it or customers cars either. But dont expect that to stop him. Theres a reason their technician turnover rate is extremely high, its Jimmy.Most of the positive reviews come from friends and family of the business owners and employees rather than actual customers.

The first time I used this service I was wronged but the Manager called me and we worked out the issue and rectified the problem and everything the second time worked out for the best, Mechanic was really good. I would recommend to use this service if you do not like shops, it is useful.

I used them once to work on my fifth wheel. I was happy with what they were able to do. They were supposed to do the suspension upgrade for me that day as well. Instead they quoted me a a new price and scheduled it for another day. I cancelled that next appointment due to the quote. Later, I rescheduled it for a Saturday. The person no showed no called. I called the office and left a message to find out what happened. Neither the mechanic nor the office returned my call. Now the parts are just sitting in my garage while I find someone more dependable.

As a small business owner I know how important it is to have reviews so customers know how reliable and professional we run our business.This company send a person that never worked on a “small” vehicles as he mostly work on big trucks. Clearly stating he does not know what he was doing. I don’t blame the person who work on my vehicle instead blame it on how unprofessional this company had to hire a person like that or even have that person with no knowledge how to repair “small” vehicles to even come fix my car. Long story short, i wasted $300+ just for a radiator replacement that wasn’t fixed. Also an extra $100+ after for diagnosis.I do not recommend this company and will never recommend to anyone. It was an easy job that i could do but instead paid this company because i did not have the time to do it since I run a business and work at the same time.*Edited for a reply to your reply*You guys send a young kid the first time and he was struggling to get the radiator on. Without my help it will take forever as it was already getting dark and I felt bad that he couldn’t even do his job.(Like I said, I do not blame the person that was send to me) Clearly my radiator was broken after being dropped multiple times on the tarmac. He admitted that he forgot to do one procedure after installing the radiator to release bubble from the coolant system.( Something like that) He then said, “I will tell my boss to send people to come check it for free cus I know I did something wrong here”. A few days later, no one came. I then called and two people came out to take a look. Then charged me for the diagnostic that they did. Said the problem was not caused by the first person. Like how is that? When he admitted that he did not know what he was doing? I did not want to proceed for you guys to fix it because it will cause me another extra $500+ because the radiator is already broken. I would’ve had a good experience if I had the two mechanics at first. The first person said you guys were short on workers that’s why he was the one send on that day. Just a terrible experience and waste of money is all I have to say. I would call and say all this but I called and nobody answered. So that’s my reply to your “been in BUSINESS for 11 years”. How to you have the record of when my vehicle got worked on but not the name of the person who tried to fix it the first time?

I was having intermittent issues with my car starting and had it towed to a mechanic twice, only to have it then start without problem. And since it worked fine each time someone checked it, no one could figure out the issue. I called McFarlands, and they were able to send someone out the next day. Charley found the issue immediately and was able to have it repaired and back in perfect working condition within 45 minutes. I am so very grateful! He is an incredibly knowledgeable mechanic, and he took excellent care of my car. I could not be happier with McFarlands service!

Im from Alabama, and it is extremely stressful being broken down so far from home and not knowing anyone. They were extremely busy, but they came out the day they said they would. I was stranded at a truck stop, and their mechanic brought the belt I needed and installed it for me. That allowed me to drive it to their shop (to find out why the belt came off) where another of their mechanics did some more in-depth work. Once they had diagnosed the issue(s), they got it fixed and I got on my way for even less $ than I had anticipated. If Im ever in the Pacific Northwest again and need repairs, Ill definitely use their services. They were professional and courteous, which was refreshing after quite a few other places/people had not been.

The service writers are friendly and very helpful. They were able to get a tech out to me very quickly. Charlie was able to diagnose the problem and answered all of my questions kindly. I never felt talked down to or like he was selling me something I didnt need the way that other shop mechanics do.They are also very reasonably priced! I will be using them for all of my mechanic needs!

I am going to start with, I used this service in lieu of having my truck towed to a service shop even though they were a bit more expensive. Sam did an excellent job with my 6.5TD injection pump replacement (I supplied all the parts) and although the truck did not start on his attempts, it did end up starting later that afternoon after learning some things about the PCM. My complaint is that once the truck was running, I found that the injection pump was out of time. I assumed that would be a part of the initial repairs as timing the fuel system is a primary function of the replacement. However, I was told that because it did not start for Sam any additional labor for timing would now be a hefty hourly charge. Ok, so here is the thing. I manage the shop at one of Portlands largest fleet building and sales companies and I guess my customer service standards are set a bit higher than theirs are. Fine, I will work the timing out myself. But now my problem lies with a coolant leak that was not there before on the crossover pipe he had to remove to do the job. They set an appointment for the soonest day they said they could do it which coincidingly happened to be the last day of my preplanned vacation. I was given a cable guy time frame of between 2pm and 4pm. So, I cut my plans short and showed up here at my shop for the prearranged meeting time. It was a no show, no call situation. No response from Sam after sending a text message asking if he was still going to make it and have now left two voicemails with a no call back scenario. I have been in the fleet /municipality build industry for nearly 30 years. I have a reputation of not only being one of the best in the business as an electrical engineer but for my customer service attitude that is always above and beyond! So, if they come out and do the job and its good to go, then you’re hopefully getting the service youve paid for. But if there is a hiccup in anyway, do not count on this company for exemplary customer service practices, because at this point, I dont think youll find it. I can tell you one things for sure; all 15,000 of my clients will know the way Ive been treated and thats one hell of a reach!!

Brett came out to my house. He spent 3 hours looking over my car amd running tests. He finally hit on low fuel pressure and suggested a new fuel pump. Low and behold there was a fuel hose coming from the pump that had ruptured giving poor gas pressure. Without Brett suggesting the fuel pump i never would have found the ruptured hose. I was trying for 2 weeks to find the problem. Thank you Brett . You deserve high accolades and applause. Highly recommend McFarland Mobile Auto Repair.

I had two different companies quote me $800+ dollars to fix an oil pan that McFarlands fixed in ten minutes and just under $150. I 100% recommend their amazing service! They are professional, punctual and genuinely want to help you when you’re in a pickle!

One of the best companies I have worked with in over 15 years. McFarland’s work on our mobile office coach Rv and the quality of work is over the top. The techs have passion for what they do and take the time needed to make sure your issues are complete.This is our nonprofits go to companies for all of our mobile needs. I gave a five star however if I can give 10 starts I would. Brandon was one of the techs out of Portland and I can’t wait to have him back again as needed.

My car broke down late Saturday evening. From the moment they answered the phone I knew I called the right place. It is obvious everyone loves their job, even on Saturday night. Alice cheerfully answered, gave me a quote and time they would be to my location. Sam, the mobile mechanic also very friendly, showed up right on time. Checked everything and found the fuel pump was dead. Not a job that can be done on the side of a busy freeway. They sent a tow truck to pick up my car, and Chris the service manager stayed late to greet me when we got there. These guys are top notch! I would refer their service to anyone without hesitation.

Ive yet to need the use of their service, but driving I-5 Salem to Portland has put me in proximity of several of their work trucks. I can say this: every time Ive been traveling near a MMM vehicle(MMM19 most recently), whomever has been behind the wheel was courteous, and took extra caution when entering, and every lane change on the freeway. I thought Id mention and applaud the effort. Way to go MMM!

I dont have enough words to describe how positive my experience was. My car was dead in its tracks at my apartment complex. I was about to call for a tow, a headache to schedule and not to mention expensive, when a friend of mine recommended McFarlands. I am so glad I took her advice. Charlie was right on time for our appointment, diagnosed my car in about 10 minutes. Bad starter. Gave me a very reasonable quote and said he could get it fixed right then and there! I was very impressed! He told me the repair would take about 1 1/2 to 2 hours. 1 1/2 hour on the dot he called to say he was all done! So easy! AND thats not all. He let me know that my battery was needing to be replaced soon. He offered to do it if I wanted but informed me how I could get it done for way less money. He did not have to tell me that! As a single woman I sadly have had a couple of experiences with male mechanics who treat me like I know absolutely nothing and try to take advantage of that assumption. Not only was Charlie efficient, he was respectful and very pleasant to work with all around. McFarlands now has my business from here on out!

I found their labor rate to be extremely high and the service writer I spoke to over the phone, Jimmy only wanted to sell me a bunch of services for a vehicle he had never seen or serviced before. I tried telling him I just wanted a vehicle inspection for my Ford F-150 but he wouldnt listen. I ended up just taking my truck to the dealer where they gave me a vehicle inspection and took care of me like they always do. Dont waste your time trying to talk to someone who clearly doesnt listen to his customers.

Car was wasting away in my drive and then Jared showed up. Very professional and COVID Compliant. Diagnosed the bad starter (showed me how I could identify one in the future) and then replaced it all in 2 hours. Didnt have to pay for a tow or anything to get it to a shop. Really appreciate the quality of the work and the time he did it in. Highly recommend!

I hired them to come out and do a pre-purchase mobile inspection on a box truck in September. They listed a few small repairs and we felt confident that we were getting a good work vehicle and might need to put in maybe $1,000ish at most (the vehicle had been sitting, but had very low miles). Fast forward to December and the repairs have mounted in over $7,000 in repairs that their tech did not catch. Which is the whole reason we hired them, so we wouldnt be in this situation. A waste of $225 for sure. Do not use them to do mobile inspections.EDIT: You wanted to know what got missed. Lets see everything from all 4 O2 sensors, both catalytic convertors, fuel pump, fuel filter, pressure hoses, hydroboost brake booster, power steering fluid flush, serpentine belts, shock absorber, wheel seals and wheel bearing cone, the idle arm assembly, the list goes on.....The current estimate is for the O2 sensors and catalytic converter is sitting at over 2K. We have had it in 3 shops, towed off the highway at the zoo, almost been hit on highway 84 because it will just loose power and shut off. We were ready to spend about 9K-10 tops on a vehicle including repairs to get it going, and no more than that. Hence why we bought used and made sure to get an inspection. It was a waste. Now we are at the point that if we dont put the money in (which is going to be double our investment in what we bought it for) we will have no vehicle and no way to get out money out of it. Do you want to replace the 02 sensors and catalytic converter without charging me labor? Maybe my comment can be removed or updated....

I hired them to fix a high pressure oil pump because that was the diagnosis i was given. That wasnt the problem and after they did 2200 dollars of work to the truck they told me the engine was blown and needs a rebuild. Wish they wouldve told me that before i had the work done. Then i took it to a mechanic shop down the road and they did a real diagnoses. Doesnt need a new engine. Im sure they are great at straight forward repairs but they didnt fix my truck and even had oil coming out of the repair they did as we tried to start it because they forgot a seal. Probably did even more damage.

My serpentine belt was broken, and they called me back in a timely manner and got me in for a appointment quickly! Charlie was fantastic! He went above and beyond to make sure my car was running great, and even rubbed some paint off the front bumper, just to be awesome. My car runs perfectly now - and I didnt even have to go anywhere. I had a truly wonderful experience with McFarlands and will definitely be calling them next time I need a mechanic!

I was in need of a diagnosis for my motorhome and i called and spoke with Jimmy. He was super nice and very flexible as to when he could schedule the tech to come out. Today the tech, John came out and was absolutely delightful to interact with. He was both personable but also equally extremely knowledgeable, something that can be very hard to find in a mechanic. I had a great experience today for a fair price. The price they told me over the phone for parts and labor was the exact price I payed for. If you are thinking about going to them for service I recommend asking for Mark, he seemed knowledgeable and was very nice. Other shops were telling it would take 2 hours to fix my problem with 2 workers, and he got it done in a little bit over an hour just by himself. Will definitely be going back.

I hired McFarland’s to replace s fuel pump on my sprinter van. They charged me $1000 for the repair, and ended up installing the wrong pump. The van broke down so I called them and they sent a different mechanic out to figure out what was wrong. He said the first mechanic installed the wrong pump and he would have to undo it. They tried to charge me $700 to take the wrong pump off that they put on and install the correct one. I had to call them nearly 20 times over 2 months to get anything done. Horrible customer service, and half of their mechanics don’t know what they are doing. If they mess up, they will charge you to fix it.

These guys saved me from buying a lemon! I scheduled their mobile mechanic to come look at a car I was thinking about (they were available quickly!) and they coordinated with the seller to inspect the car while he was at work. Very convenient! The seller said a bearing needed to be replaced, but the technician, Mark, looked into it further and found that there were several deeper issues that also needed to be fixed. He gave me a detailed description over the phone, and I walked away without buying a car with serious issues. Thanks so much, Mark!

I wish I could have had one of those awesome experiences like these others.I contacted then because of the ad they ran that said free towing if we do the repair. The man that answers said no problem, let me have a tech come out and see what the problem is. I already knew but whatever.So this nice young man comes out to where the car was and plays around with it for about 4 hours. Had to use his computer to decipher everything. Pretty much like I had to do, but now Im paying them 110 an hour to do the same thing. So at the end of it all, he says there is nothing he can do and it quitting time on Friday night. So, sorry about that. Then he added that the shop manager told him there is no tow truck available that day and just go run time on the vehicle. Perfect.At least he was nice enough to tell me I got screwed after he was done screwing me. No dinner though.I really think you are just better off having your vehicle towed to a reputable shop and take your chances. I know I will from now on.

They got the water pump and thermostat installed and now my heater works....thus ends the good part of the review.They charged me a MASSIVE amount to do the work I needed. Part of that work was to fix the defroster on the back windshield, which they did not do. They even tried twice. Now I have to spend another $400 for a new back windshieldThey charged $1,122.00 total to do the front brakes, the water pump, the thermostat and the rear defroster. Thats ridiculous. I called around for estimates from other places and none of them were over $800. They charged me $604 for labor alone when they were only here for a little less than 3 hours. Thats over $200 per hour. Plus, $45 for the thermostat when I found several places with the very same part for $15 or less. Plus $223 for the front rotors when I found several places with the very same parts, in some cases much higher quality, for $110 or less.Also, the customer service over the phone wasnt so great. Finally, they quoted me something like $460 for the rear brakes and I found a place to do it for $240. Thats only $10 over half the cost and it comes with warranties and verified ASE certification.Needless to say, I will not be using their services again.

Its very helpful to have such a good and reputable mobile mechanic service in my area. Definitely more convenient than having to schedule dropping and picking up my car around work hours. I have used McFarlands to do a pre-purchase inspection both times I have purchased used vehicles. Its great to be able to schedule an inspection for the very next day or on the weekend. All McFarland mechanics I have encountered have been friendly, knowledgeable, and communicative as to their estimated arrival. Again, glad to have such a quality and convenient service around town!

What a refreshing business model. I actually met the guy working on my car. I am at my wits end with dealerships and even aftermarket shops keeping there mechanics hid! Not McFarlands. The tech...I think his name was Mark? came out and diagnosed my car as needing a starter. Gave me a quote, told me he could have it done today. He started fixing it and another guy maybe the part place? brought him the part. He was done pretty fast and my car works again! Thank you guys! you have a customer for life.

Very impressed! My sons car broke down and he had been saving up to have it fixed, with the fear that it was going to be than he could afford to have repairs done. Car wouldnt start but the problem was simple. Got it sorted out in no time, instead of just heading straight out to their next job like you might expect, he went through and checked the rest of the car and tightened a loose battery terminal i missed. Explained what the problem was, how to avoid it. I learned a lot and feel way more confident in my car than if I managed to get it working myself and left the problem as a mystery. Didnt charge extra for the additional info or overview of the car. Very professional and friendly service. Highly recommended!

The service I received after that point was 5 star, and the only reason Im not giving 5 stars now is in reflection of my first interaction with this company. The person who prompted that low rating, however, doesnt appear to reflect the values and nature of this company. My second interaction showed McFarlands to be customer service oriented, prompt, patient, empathetic, and knowledgeable. I received effective service in my car and truly appreciated that they wanted to correct the negative experience I first had. Overall Id use them again and recommend them to others.Prior:I scheduled an appointment with this company on Wednesday, with their earliest arrival being Friday. I was told my mechanic would arrive anytime between 3 and 5 and that I would get a call sometime before they arrived, likely when they were on their way. I did receive 2 calls but unfortunately they called the one time today when I wasnt able to answer. I returned their last call within 30 minutes (and still 15 minutes prior to 3pm, the window of time when they COULD arrive). They informed me that theyd already cancelled the appointment. There were no warning texts or emails, and when I set the appointment I was not told that theyd cancel almost immediately if you did not pick up the phone right away. Had I known this, I would have rearranged my schedule or called them before I knew I wasnt going to be available. I had waited a few days to give my business to McFarland because their business model sounded convenient, but from a dispatch and customer service standpoint, theyre not convenient. Theyre apathetic to you as the customer. The man I spoke did offer another appointment time, the next day, but after thisI wasnt inclined to give them my business. More frustrating than this, his attitude was one of not caring at all. I understand many people flake on them, but I want one of them. Still, his strongest message was essentially that this was my fault for not calling back instantly even though I was unable to. I could understand this if I were hours late returning the call, if their had been a scheduled call time, or already within my appointment time, but I wasnt. Now I am half a week in without an working car. Had I towed my car to my usual shop, I very well could already have my car back and running.I cant comment on their service as mechanics. They may be quite good. If their attitude and service level that I experienced carry over, though, Id be careful.

I called Beau at McFarlands and they came right out and checked out my car. They were able to determine the issue and squeeze me in to get it fixed. Beau was very professional and responsive. Best mechanic service I have ever experienced. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

Prompt and professional, truly the best dealing Ive ever had with car repair.I called at 8 am to inquire about same day repair. The person who answered the phone was very patient and understanding while I explained the situation. He said that he would find out if he had a technician available and would phone me with an ETA. He called me back quickly to confirm someone was on the way. The technician arrived in about twenty minutes. He was very polite and professional. He got to work and soon let me know the issue and the total cost. From phone call to repair completion, the total time was less than four hours.I cannot express enough how impressed I was with how efficiently the entire process went. From the office call to the mobile tech, communication was impeccable. There was not a single moment that I felt like I was getting the run around or that the process was taking longer than it should. At another repair shop where I had previous waited for hours on end for minor repairs only to leave without a vehicle, I had been conned into believing that repairs were costly and time consuming. McFarlands has proven that is not necessary. Not only did I pass the (short) time in the comfort of my home, the cost was literally half of what I had paid at that previous shop.Do yourself a favor. Ignore the few (poorly written) bad reviews. If you find yourself in need of car repair, give Kevin and his awesome staff at McFarlands a call. You wont be sorry. Im writing this review solely based on how incredibly impressed I was with the service I received today. McFarlands Mobile Mechanic has earned a customer for life.

The best mobile repair we have ever used! We had a 1988 GMC box van that had not been started in 3 years time, we asked McFarlands to come out and get it started . After a quick battery change the tech shot some starting fluid into the carburetor inlet, hit the starter and the van came alive. But then soon after died, so after a quick fuel filter change our van roared to life again, but this time with a check engine light. So after a quick diagnosis the tech said there was a temperature sending unit that was not working and that is why the vans engine was running rich. So I said there was a Napa auto only 8 miles away and he could pick one up there. So the tech took the time to go and purchase the sending unit and came back and installed it in just a few minutes time. He started the van and all was as it should have been. I guess what Im trying to convey is McFarlands was fast, efficient and very accommodating to my needs. All this work, including almost $75 in parts cost us only $225. A very reasonable price I thought. We will always use McFarlands from here on forward! Robert

Booked appointment and was scheduled 4 days out cause theyre busy.Took the day off to be home and man was I excited to get this classic car running. It needs the rearend rebuilt as well and other things I was going to discuss with the mechanic while he was here. To get a call the night before, around 6pm, to cancel last minute is frustrating.I was hoping to have found our new mechanic shop. On the side, I own a local construction company with (26), 3/4 & one ton trucks, fleet vehicles. I get theyre busy, the last minute call is the worst part. Im home all weekend. Never got an offer though.

Wow! You have to watch these guys. Jimmy give you one price for an estimate over the phone and then another price after they look at your vehicle. Then when you tell them that wasnt the price quoted over the phone then they take your vehicle keys when you turn your back.Had to call the police to get my only set of keys back.These guys are crooks.

I worked with Kevin on multiple occasions regarding pricing on services and he was always prompt and friendly!These guys have a passion for what they do and will go above and beyond to make sure the customers questions are answered professionally and with honesty.Kevin had quoted me a complete brake job on two of my vehicles for around $800 dollars and upon a free brake inspection he said I didnt need brakes at all. My diesel pusher motor home was losing power on hills and a diagnostic check was needed. The mechanic, Damon Edmunds, has over 20 years of experience working on big engines. Others had suggested a valve job might be necessary. Damon was anxious to rule out the simple solutions first; he found the radiator cap was not holding pressure under testing and that the large air intake hose had shifted open just enough to cause the engine to go into Engine Protect when climbing. You pay a bit more for this on-site service, but it is worth it.

I had a Bobcat loader fuel problem. The mechanic showed up as promised (Ive had bad luck with other diesel mechanics being reliable). He diagnosed the problem immediately (a bad fuel relay pump). The part from the dealership would take 3 days and an 90 mile round trip to get. The mechanic did some clever parts research and found it only 15 miles away.My thanks for 1) their reliability and 2) the ingenuity of the mechanic that saved me time and money.

I hired McFarlands Mobile to go do a pre purchase inspection on a used Specialty vehicle I was looking at buying. I live out of state so I was relying solely on their integrity to be my eyes and pocketbook. Prior to the inspections I was called by Jerry who introduced himself and asked me questions for his evaluation. After is inspection he promptly called me back and gave me a play by play on what he had observed and took my needs into account. There was no doubt he was knowledgeable and that he was looking out for my my best interests and not the dealer down the street. What professionalism and integrity. I installed a supercharger and was having a heck of a time getting my truck started, after the install. Amazing customer service (thank you Brandon)! I needed a mobile mechanic to complete a pre-purchase check on a vehicle in another city about an hour from where I am and it was a breeze to to get it done- coordinated time over the phone and their mechanic went on-site and did a thourough check with report afterwards. This small fee saved me thousands of dollars in repair as the owner did not disclose all the issues with the vehicle. Will definitely use them again in the future!

Called last Tuesday to have a fuel line replaced from the fire wall to the tanks on my truckDude showed up Thursday spent 20 mins looking at the truck then tells me he has to go look at his own personal rig to see how to run the fuel line charged me 155 bucks for that then they say he wont be back till Monday so I call Monday morning they tell me he is still ordering parts and wont be here till WednesdayIts a very simple fix that should take half a day tops very disappointing

I wish there were more stars ~ One of our company vehicles failed at a customers job site. McFarlands was quick to respond. Although I was given a window between 1pm & 3pm, I was contacted by the technician way before I was expecting. Mark (Tech) showed up, diagnosed the problem in a couples of minutes, ordered the parts needed & had this vehicle working in less than 75 minutes! Mark was extremely professional, spoke of the repairs/parts needed in a manner that was understandable & respected our companys time frame. Fast, Friendly and Saved Me a Ton of $!Our mechanic that we have been using was going to charged $480 to change out a fuel pump on my 99 Honda Accord. So I called around for mobile svs since I didnt want to pay for a tow truck to haul it to the mechanic. I called McFarlands Mobile svs and they said they would only charge $248!So the guy comes out from McFarlands Mechanic does an analysis and finds its only a fuel pressure regulator a small inexpensive part. So he only charges me for the diagnostic since Ill be changing out the regulator myself.Im happy to have used them and would use them in the future.
