Let’s be candid — our USPS’s reputation has suffered lately, and I suppose that’s partly deserved. Today I am compelled to leave a glowing commendation about a postal employee at the Trussville PO who was a picture of grace & good cheer under fire. His name is Rico. He was apparently working alone. There was a line when I arrived so I had the opportunity to observe him interact with several customers. He patiently answered questions, in one case a gentleman went on and on about junk mail & coupons & forwarding address — not a hint of frustration from Rico. Another lady left a package on the counter to be mailed. Rico had the presence to ask her to show him the label, which was actually a UPS label, and he gave her directions to the nearest drop-off point. She was visibly relieved by his averting her error. He JOGGED multiple times back & forth to help customers at various stations to attend to them. The electronic payment system was down temporarily — he was not flustered, and gave full dollar change, rounding up in favor of the customer. An older gentleman asked if he needed to wait in line (several people deep at that point) to ask for forms. Again gracious & adroit, Rico provided the forms to him in the same few second time period it would have taken to explain that he needed to stand in line. Smiling, pleasant throughout, Rico was giving a clinic on customer service! Rico was so impressive I went back to wait in line again to buy stamps, not because I needed them, but in order to ask his name & compliment him for his excellent service.

The woman who was in this office today was extremely helpful. She was all by herself, but was able to help several customers on her own. Im giving 4 stars because there was a long wait, but this is in no way the fault of the employee at this USPS location. She did the best she could by herself. They need more staff, but otherwise this is a great post office.

The postal carrier for my home in Pebble Garden Way is unreliable on parcel deliveries. I will, in the future, use UPS. The article was out for delivery, no notice left, and I got an email that it was undeliverable and available for pickup at the P.O. Inexcusable!

I ordered an item from Amazon. Was supposed to arrive on Sunday. I got a message saying the driver attempted delivery but when checking my camera at that time I never saw anyone try to attempt anything around the time given. Then they said it was being held at my request at the Trustville USPS which I never requested. I called USPS waited 5 hours for a call back when it should have taken 1 hour and the person told me he has no idea what this location is doing because the zip code shows the package is there responsibility and NOT the Trustville location. He told me the Moody location should have my package. He gives me the number. I call it. I have a women who interrupts me Sir, its at the Trustville location and will arrive Tuesday I told her I was visiting and went home. Why is the package in Trustville. She only repeated it will arrive Tuesday and said you can come in and fillout a change for address (they cant do it over the phone) and I am in FL now. I called Amazon and had the item refunded and have already reordered it. I will never have something shipped through USPS at the Moody location again. Now once the package arrives I am going to have to ask my family member to send it to me in Florida since I went home Monday morning (I was told if I get the item by Amazon I could keep it if I ever get it). When the guy from USPS is confused and tells me he has no clue what these people at the Moody location are doing and Trustville that sound like a big red flag considering Moody branch should have my package but its in trustville and is arriving 3 days late (He filed a report at the office for me). I even called the Trustville branch 5-6 times with no answers to see if they had my package so I could possibly stop there before I left but no.... nobody answered. The fact they say attempted when they did no such thing plus saying I requested them to hold my package for me to pickup is nuts. I cant even get ahold of them to ask for them to redeliver the item. The moody branch lady only told me It will arrive TuesdayUSPS for Moody - 1/5USPS for Trustville - 1/5

Such a bad office. Very rude. Never enough workers and they never answer the phone. The post master is never considerate or researches anything. Horrible service. My packages that I paid Priority mail for, sat in the office for days because THEY put them in the wrong place. I was scolded for holding my mail when I went out of town. Truly horrible service and rude

Been calling for over an hour, says hold for operator then they disconnect the call. No wonder they are going bankrupt! Poor customer service skills!!Seriously whats the point in even having a phone number for this facility? You all never answer the phone. It has you waiting and then the call drops. Horrible business!!

Poor customer service. Wouldnt deliver a package because Driveway was not accessible at 7:34PM. There were no cars nor obstructions to my driveway all day! No I cannot reach anyone to find out where my package is or how to get it. Local post where last package update was made will not answer the phone.

I usually do not give bad reviews, but the driver for the route in which I live does not perform his/her jobs well and there clearly is not enough employees to man the post office itself. On several occasions I have used one day service to receive a package and when I would check the tracking to find out why the package had not arrived there would be a message stating that they attempted delivery but ran into an issue. The door was obstructed. By no means was the door obstructed. I had already received several packages from Amazon on one day they gave me this message minutes before they say they attempted delivery. When I tried to call the post office to ask what we could do to make sure I got the package because it was time sensitive, no one answered the phone. I called 6 times within a 2 hour period, and during their hours of operation. I realize that post offices must work within their budgets and there are a lot of deliveries they must make and I would try to work out a solution with them directly, if they would only answer the phone. I would gladly change my review if someone would show that they genuinely wanted to help me by contacting me and correcting these issues.

I just arrived a minute before closing. There were 4-5 people in line and the door was already locked. The guy working would not even look up when I knocked. Poor customer service. Now I have to drive to another post office to mail my package. Thankfully, most all other offices are open to at least 2 on Saturday.

One of the worst post offices in the northern part of Jefferson Co. Some of the employees are very helpful while the rest arent very helpful. The soup is very knowledgeable of p.o. operations. Ive been to this location numerous times but Ive never witnessed any of the previous managers/postmasters act in a manner in which he or she seemed to be hasty with the customers or a bigot. Avoid this location at all costs!

Extremely inconsistent on what is allowed for first class tracked mailers. Employees are consistently rude and give off the vibe that they are doing you a favor by handling simple tasks. I hate this is the closest option for me.

Ive been to post offices in slums in Sao Paulo, Brazil that were more efficient and friendlier. Everyone in there is always angry. I dread going in there every time, but its just the closest one to my house. Thats government provided services for you.

Absolute worst experience ever with Miss Beth and Miss Tee, who both instructed me to use a readypost envelope when I was searching for a padded envelope in the flat rate section. After unpacking and repacking into a flat rate envelope, they forced me to pay for their mistake and an envelope I didn’t even use. “Sir, I’m not a mind reader” says Miss Beth after asking if she could help while I’m searching the flat rate section for the padded envelope and she instructs me to walk across the store to another section for the readypost envelope. No, no mind reading required ma’am. Just a minimal amount of common sense, and a dash of old fashioned customer service might help. If they offered zero stars, this store would get it.

They close about 5 minutes before their listed closing times. I have observed this twice trying to drop off packages at 5:55 pm. This time was according to the time.gov website which is official government time. USPS is part of the government so it should be ran according to government time, not whatever digital or analog clock is sitting on the counter. If you think you will get there within 5 minutes of closing, do not even bother as they will not let you in.

I received a notice in my mailbox that I was not available to sign for a package. My security camera showed there wasn’t an attempt to knock on my door. Later when I tried to call during business hours, there was no answer. When I stopped by at closing, the workers were nice enough to allow me to sign for the package and not make me come back the next day.

Pathetic customer service from Clerk 67. He acts like hes doing you a favor to sell you stamps. I hated the stamps on a book of stamps that my daughter went in and purchased. Two days later, my husband took them and my receipt back to exchange the stamps. Clerk 67 refused to exchange them without a payment of $20 extra. WOW! He had the receipt!!!!!

Legit the worst post office Ive ever been to. Every single time. I was just in there today and was accused of taking a picture of one of the workers when legit the dude she was training asked me to verify a zip code so I pulled up my pictures to check my screenshot of the address. I even showed her I have no pictures and she still was extremely rude. And another lady who might have been the Post Master, (who didnt witness what this worker did to me) said I didnt need to talk like that but I said of course Im going to have a defensive tone when I was accused of something I didnt do and am treated like that. All I said was are you kidding me?? And looked around behind me at the lady there in line who could obviously see what I was doing on my phone and we both just rolled out eyes incredously at them. The lady then moved up to turn my package so she could see my address (she was not the one who was servicing me). So then I did take their pictures since they were so adamant about it (and I was feeling petty at that point lol) and legit was weirded out by her looking at my address. I asked her to turn her name badge over so I could have her name and she wouldnt turn it over. I also mail packages frequently almost always prepaid label print already on the package so literally all they have to do is take the packages. and put them in the back to be sorted and shipped. Ive literally done all the work. But they still are so rude and act like its such an inconvenience to bother them to do their job and take the box of packages. My husband has said the same thing when hes gone for me. Thank goodness other post offices dont act like this but unfortunately this is the closest one to home, not worth it after today anymore though. This is the only Birmingham post office to lose packages at their facility, never to be found again, and Im legit just waiting to see if these never get mailed out either.

I have to deal with several different Post Offices. This one is a pleasure to deal with. Always helpful, always smiling. The Postal Service would be wise to see what is going right here and implement it at other Post Offices (looking at you Pinson, Gardendale, Vestavia Hills).
