Had service in an apartment and the service connection was good but upon cancellation the service has been terrible. I moved over a month ago and I still have not been to return the Modem. I have called four times and they have not keep their promise to mail a shipping label to me. There is a 200.00 charge if the Modem isn’t return within 30 days. Called again today to try and get a label delivered and I was told it will be July 12th before it comes. The reason I haven’t received the label is because the computer has failed to send it like it should. 🤦♀️ I will see in July. The service rep is nice but they don’t seem to get the job done. I be glad to rid myself of this company. Also, will update this site in July if it happens.🤔
My internet & home phone constantly goes out. If you call it’s a gigantic hassle. I’ve had no internet for 2 days now. Can’t understand the reps. Don’t go near CenturyLink for internet service!!!! I’d give them a ZERO rating if possible!!
Just outrageously incompetent at every single turn. The first time I called about setting up service at our new build, they got my address wrong and said there was no fiber in my area (there is) and tried to hook me up with their ViaSat affiliate for the absurd price of $150 a month, just for Internet.Later, after confirming there IS CenturyLink service in my neighborhood, I called again and explained the situation. They said it would take 3-4 days for a tech to come out and start the process. After two days I called to check the status. They said it was moving along fine and asked for a little more info from me, which I provided.A full week after 3-4 days I called again and they said they needed to run a credit report on me, so I gave them my info over the phone (again) and it all went fine, although VERY slowly. Then they said my account had been marked for PHONE service rather than Internet service, despite me never saying even once that I wanted phone service. So the process had to start all over again. They said it would be the following Tuesday (5 more days) before a tech could come out.On Tuesday, I called asking where the tech was. They said my account was on hold because apparently my SSN was tied to multiple names (which I do not believe is true, for multiple reasons including the aforementioned fact that I had ALREADY PASSED THEIR CREDIT REPORT FIVE DAYS AGO), and I would have to correct this mistake by faxing (not emailing, even though I asked if I could and even though this is the year 2021) in two forms of government ID. Very nice of them to wait five days to tell me about this supposed problem with my SSN and even then only after *I* called *them*. To be fair, I suppose it could be that they tried to email me about it, but it didnt go through because they had an incorrect email address for me on file, despite me telling them the correct address multiple times and despite that address almost literally just being my name.My next-door neighbors have CenturyLink service (which, according to them, took MONTHS to set up), so I know this is possible, and have explained this fact to CenturyLink almost every time I have called them. All CenturyLink has to do to provide me service is go to a house they already provide service to, walk 15 feet, and set it up. This is somehow beyond their ability and they throw up artificial roadblocks to it every single time.Absolutely inexcusable and infuriating. This company survives only because of a near-monopoly and because HughesNet/Earthlink is, improbably, even worse. I dont think I have ever met a business that is so determined to not provide a service you are willing to pay money for. The DMV is a model of hyper-efficient capitalism compared to this.
Pitiful service! The only reason they get 1 star is because I had to make a statement. Ive had more off days than on days with this service! I really need a refund for all my payments this company has received from me. Would not recommend this service to a dead man.
Centurylink rips you off for terrible service. Not comparable to Spectrum, Comcast, or ATT in any way. Slow speeds, expensive, and unreliable. You could get better download speeds out of a potato.
Zero stars
