As an Ambassador member at Marriott, I have stayed at numerous Marriott properties around the country. This particular Marriott is below standards. The hotel should have been gutted and remodeled years ago. It is obvious that the hotel is no longer under the Marriott Corporate helm. The first room I was assigned in my 10 night stay had a soaking wet floor. When I called to tell the front desk they had the audacity to ask me “how wet is the floor, really?” As if it was ok if it was a little wet. When they moved me, I moved to the first floor where for the next 10 days I would deal with mold, mosquitoes, and gnats. If I was not here for business, I would’ve checked out and stayed at another hotel. People in our group complained of getting bit in their rooms, limited food at breakfast (yesterday there wasn’t any eggs), earwigs, and mold. I hope that this hotel stops being greedy and undergoes a renovation soon. On a brighter note most of the front desk staff was very pleasant along with the ladies in the restaurant.

I have only been to the Trumbull Marriott for business as I am from this area. Each of the conference spaces I have been to have been easy to find, comfortable, spacious, and useful. Coffee has always been put out in the rooms, which I appreciate!All of the staff members that I have interacted with have been friendly and helpful.Parking is plentiful and no spots seem to be too far from an entrance. There are trees that cover many of the parking spots, which is nice for parking in the warmer months so when I leave a conference my car isnt too hot.This is one of the best (and only) really good conference facilities around this area. It certainly is the only one that can accommodate everything from a small group of professionals to a multi-day conference with breakout spaces.

Great service. The room was super clean. The frontdesk representatives were all friendly and helpful, everytime I reach out to them. They also have a bar and food area. They seems very serious about COVID and have sanitization stations. Front desk has glass bar and I saw every employees wearing a mask. They also have a large parking area, so you dont have to worry about parking spot anytime. Overall great experience.

Still the pandemic but we felt completely safe being at this property. It is spotless and well run. Xavier and Dan at reception were more than 5 star. They were faced with a problem and resolved it beyond my wildest expectations. Kudos to them both for jobs well done. I will certainly return!!

Beautiful structure, nice grounds, friendly and helpful staff. For that one night I had a very comfortable sleep. I had a good appetizer and couple of beers while watching the NBA finals. Cool and courteous bartender; complimentary breakfast and coffee a perfect ending to a short overnight stay coming from Rhode Island. I loved it 😍

The Hotel grounds and lobby were clean and updated but as we got to the room we were greated with ants in our bathroom and a level of cleanliness that didnt match the lobby and left much to be desired. We dont plan on returning, and dont recomend. The two stars are only becuse the bed was functional as a place to sleep and the price was reasonable.

Ive stayed at countless Marriott properties and this one definitely needs to step its game up.The staff (front desk, house keeping and the bar tended) were very nice and accommodating.The rooms however are disappointing. There was a strong odor of Marijuana every time I walked in my room and apparently getting a wash cloth to bathe with was out of the question.I know Marriott can do better than this.

This is actually more of a review about the bar! Our server Jonathan was phenomenal 👏 as the crowd kept coming he kept his cool even though understaffed. He made awesome drinks and the wings were exactly the way I ordered them! Yum so glad they are open again.

The website promised 24 hour room service, gift shop. Neither of which were true. Bed was too high, very hard to get on and it was too soft. Only had 1 washing machine and dryer for the whole hotel. Hot tub wasnt working. Not a great experience.

Great property. Good banquet service. Elevators were slow though.

If old and outdated is what youre looking for boy youve found it! Continental breakfast VERY expensive for scraps.... eggs, bacon, potatoes, and lukewarm oatmeal at $14/pp is absurd.... even at best Western their breakfast at least include a Belgian waffle ot pancake. NO supervision in pool area 7 minors under 12 in the jacuzzi waited forever.. no towels like ever... for the whole weekend and we were a group of 20 with a total of 7 rooms.

I really liked the staff. They were extremely accommodating. I had to check in super early because there was a blizzard and i was out plowing and they made accommodations for me. However the hotel is incredibly dated. A little dingy and tired looking. They also said there were coffee makers in all the rooms but, theyre werent. Waking up at 2 am being exhausted and not having a cup of Joe was a bummer. For a 3 1/2 star hotel I expected a little better. We requested a room with quick access to our trucks as we had to come and go through the evening while we plowed. Im not sure if that played a role as some rooms are going to be nicer than others. But, still. I give the room 2 stars, the staff 5, and the price a 4 1/2.

The rooms are nice, but the halls need a SERIOUS update/upgrade. Had to wait 5 minutes for an elevator when there were 3.

Great weekend getaway and my son loved the indoor and outdoor pools.

I will tell you one thing that online travel agents do not want u to know. When booking stays use ʜᴏᴛᴇʟʙᴜʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏᴍ They have the best deals on resorts! Way better than using expedia, tripadvisor, agoda. No doubt about that!!!My stay was amazing had a wonderful day with the family room and all areas of hotel was clean and the clercks were very friendly would recommend the stay to others

First time coming here during pandemic. Its rather sad and empty. Few people, lights dimmed in lobby, few people in bar/restaurant in evening. The rooms are bare: housekeeping dialed back, no food, not even a bottle of water! No room service. Must get dressed and rush down to lobby breakfast cart for that shot of wake-up-coffee. But the good news is that the staff is super welcoming and the blueberry muffins on the breakfast cart are really good. The Covid measures are rigorous and important but they are a bummer!

The service was okay. Rooms were fine, atmosphere was fine. Nothing too out of this world...the bonus and the best part of our stay was the huge slide in the pool. (For adults and kids) It was as big as the ones in an amusement park. Very unexpected but a joy to our trip.

I paid over $200 for one night....mid week on a Tuesday. Okay, its a Marriot and the price is high, but to not even have amenities in the room is terrible. I woke up with a dry mouth in the middle of the night and there wasnt even a small bottle of spring water in the room. I had to drink from the bathroom faucet. No shower cap, no razor, nothing. I suppose I could have asked the front desk, then why not have a small sign in the room telling me so? Or, better yet, maybe when I was checking in and you were so quick to charge my credit card let me know there are no amenities in the room and ask me if I would be needing anything?? Honestly, $200 and no water in the room? Come on Marriott! I know times have changed because of COOVID, but what does that have to do with amenities in the room!

Positive: Employees were kind and prompt Negative: There were swimming rules implemented due to COVID when we asked about the pool at check in employee did not say anything then when got down to the pool with our kids we were told about the one hour limit per room.

Average hotel, nice indoor and outdoor pool but the outside pool needs some repair. You can feel the pebbles from the floor portion of the pool thats deteriorating.

Booked a queen/king and the would only give me a double, yet the next guy in line had status so he got a king room. Found a dirty towel in the room. Coffee area was dimly lit and in the way. Would not recommend.

Strong smell of weed + our cards kept not working every 2-3 days. But they have a nice gym and good rooms.

The catalytic converter from my vehicle was stolen right from the guest parking lot. The hotel has posted many signs not responsible for any theft or damage. There are no security cameras. All that leads be to suspect that your vehicle is not safe in their guest parking. Mine certainly wasnt.

Super comfortable and nice people to deal with. I have stayed here twice within a few weeks for a total of three nights and would not hesitate to book again as the need arises. Adjacent plaza shopping is convenient. I do very much would like that they serve breakfast. I usually stay at Hampton/Hilton hotels and really appreciate their breakfasts, even during Covid. Oh well...they do have a nice restaurant there which great.

We stayed here for one night. The room wasn’t the most modern, however, the beds were comfortable and everything was sparkling clean. The indoor pool/spa was very enjoyable and the hotel does a nice job at maintaining social distancing precautions in the pool area and out.

MLK weekend was a total mess. I blame poor management. There was no communication between front desk and management. The security person and manager were both very unfriendly. The management of the pool covid protocols were non existent. It smelled like weed throughout the hotel. A domestic dispute broke out in one of the rooms. Lots of guests not wearing masks. Would you feel comfortable staying at this hotel during the pandemic?

No coffee in the room and no coffee available in the hotel until 6:30. Of course I was told I could drive to a Dunkin Donut a mile away and get a coffee. Why dont you have coffee in the room or make it readily available in the morning...some of us do not sleep until 6:30am. Very disappointed

Parallel Post and it’s staff is why I stay here. The bartenders are consistently friendly and knowledgeable. They’re very likable and make you feel at home. I’ve traveled over 50 nights this year with the majority being multiple night trips and at the Trumbull Marriott. They made what personally could be a tough year balancing family and work, much easier and actually enjoyable. Specifically Hakeem, Jonathan, Dominique and Michelle, thank you and enjoy the holidays!

Amazing stay. The pool. The hot tub.

Stayed in July during COVID for work. Took pictures of dirty room. Hair in sink, shavings. Switch to a different room. Same thing! Long hair in shower and floor. Hallways littered with trash. Switch hotel. Don’t chance it. Not clean!

I was here for work and pleasure. The front desk was extremely helpful and Lily was AMAZING during the day. She solved any issues quickly and was always smiling. She was a pleasure to work with. The room was great. Not found of the scents for toiletries, but that is a personal taste.

I received excellent service from the staff the moment I approached the counter. I expected to pay considerably more for a room but the staff inquired if I had AAA which I forgot. She also found a room close to parking as I requested. She went out of her way to accommodate all of my requests. I had been moving all day and was exhausted. I had a very pleasant stay as a result of her kindness. I will seek out the Marriott in future stays. Thank you!

The Trumbull Marriott provided assistance every step along the way. Our event was very fluid, and the management/staff never hesitated when our needs changed. I sincerely appreciated their guidance in helping us plan a conference. They provided us with information for transportation, decorating, and so much more.

This is a really nice hotel the staff is amazing very helpful with anything that I needed. The mini breakfast in a daytime was basically awesome. I love their buffets well. The rooms are very clean. Room service is very courteous. I will recommend this hotel

Classic Marriott. Nice renovated lobby and restaurant/bar. Professional and polite staff. Carpets on upper levels are classic Marriott red. Rooms are traditional Marriott with nice beds and well appointed. Could use more in room coffee. If you get up early, sometimes one small caffeinated coffee isnt enough.

This Marriott Hotel was by far the best and most accommodating hotels I have stayed at. I arrived with about 100 of my motorcycle friends and we were treated and treated with respect and true concern during our entire stay. I couldnt be happier with the facility and the staff. This last minute booking and stay at the Trumbull Marriott stay was perfect. The drive up to the hotel with plenty of parking, The stylist and impressive decor, including that amazing fire place was a plus. The ambiance was welcoming and exciting.I wanted to explore more. The Staff were professional and friendly. The room was also stylish, very clean and king-size bed was comfortable.My spouse and I were both happy with our stay.

Rooms are rather nice. On my last stay the lock on the door was broken. The front desk quickly gave me another room, but I did not receive the amenities I requested. Bar & restaurant have a good atmosphere and good food. Bar has offerings from a local brewery. I would stay here again.

Our family of 5 stayed there 1 night. Great, super helpful staff. The on-premise restaurant and the pool are definitely a plus. The restaurant staff is really nice as well. Overall, a very clean and welcoming hotel. While the walls in the room could use some touch-up paint or perhaps re-wallpapering in a couple of places, everything in the hotel is impeccably clean -- the room, the bathroom, the hallways and the common areas.

Quality, upscale hotel convenient to Bridgeport and Fairfield. My wife and I are originally from Bridgeport and we stay at this Marriott several times each year. It is consistently our best lodging experience in that area. Great bar and restaurant. You can find other hotels and save $30 to $40 per night. But none are to the standards, nor have the ammenties of the Trumbull Marriott.

My wife and I have stayed at the Trumbull Marriott at least a dozen times over the past 30 years. Not once have we had a bad experience or were in any way less than 100% pleased with our stay. The rooms are spacious, well appointed and clean. The staff is courteous and always accommodating, and the restaurants and amenities are always first-rate.

Great place to refresh after a long ride (25 hours) so comfortable only after about 5 hours of great peaceful sleep I was ready to carry on my bike ride and see more of this great country. When I was done wandering around I had went to SC NC VA WV DE MD NJ NY PA CT RI ME NH VT OH MI IN and back home to GA and this was the best sleep I had.

The rooms are beautiful and clean and the restaurant has the best wine and drinks. The food is amazing too. Also, if you book direct you will get a great price. Uber is there in minutes if you need a ride!

We have stayed at the Marriott Trumbull many times as our daughter attends Sacred Heart University. We love this hotel. It is so pretty and has lots of smaller rooms in the lobby which is nice when you want to just hang out but not be in a crowded area. The rooms and bathrooms are always clean and the decor is nice. The restaurant food is good. We love the salmon and the Thai noodle dishes. Breakfast has many choices and the service has always been good. This hotel is convenient to the University, shopping and parks. We will continue to stay here!

The Trumbull Marriott was a great experience for me and my 6 guests. Jazmin, Nicole and Mr. Tartaglio (I hope Im spelling the names correctly) were extremely accommodating and super professional with booking and making sure me and my guests were comfortable (no questions asked). I also would like to acknowledge the security guard James who was pleasant and made us feel safe.Customer service is always key and these employees represented the matriarch hotel very well. I will definitely suggest this location to all I come across, looking for a great hotel chain in the area.

While we were at the pool and there was a Karen that made us get out and there was 14 people in the pool and she reported us for being in the pool.

Very nice for a gathering. Food is good.Convenient if travelling a distance to attend gathering. Great conversation area. If not ready to leave or retire after event, a cozy sit, chat and drink lounge is available. A night to remember ☺

Attended Wedding at Trumbull Marriott. Facility was clean, fresh, and of high quality standards. The ceremony venue in the Garden was lovely, however, minus points for being close to the roadway as there was a bit of noise pollution of vehicles during the ceremony. The Merritt Room where the reception was held was the perfect size for about 80-90 people. The atmosphere was intimate but fun. Everything was clean. The food was very good. And the wait staff was very attentive, polite and courteous. I would be happy to attend another event or stay at this facility again.

The staff were Helpful, friendly and accommodating. The rooms were large, clean and the beds were comfy. Definitely would stay there again!

Have stayed several times and will be back. Very quick check in, spacious lobby and lounge spacious, good options in the concierge lounge for happy hour. Have also eaten in the restaurant there, very good, healthy options and good wine list. This is a bit of a older Marriott and you’ll notice that on some of the fixtures in the rooms and hallways...but it is very clean, bedding is great, and is otherwise the full Marriott experience.

The hotel was great and I had a great stay. The front desk staff were great and very helpful. There were some kids running up and down the hall and the security was quick to quiet things down in a timely manner. Overall great stay. My only issue is the elevators are very slow.

The hotel is very nice and the staff is welcoming. Got to our rooms and felt comfortable right away. The king size bed is out favorite. Once in it we didnt want to come out of it. We came up for a Wedding so we wasnt in the room very long but the hotel & room is very clean and well designed. I would recommend this hotel to other friends and family.

Clean common areas great outside inside pool. Only negative Is the size of the beds . Would.prefer queen size over double.

Giant hotel with a lot of parking. The hallways seemed to go forever. The room is big with nice size TV. Bed is comfortable. Room did have a mini fridge but no microwave. Best part was the shower with plenty of water pressure although shower/tub combo vs preferred walk-in shower.

Very nice stay at this hotel. Clean rooms and bathrooms. Would definitely consider staying here again.

Hotel is OK the drain in the bathroom was clogged

I was in the hotel for a fund-raiser breakfast. Two hundred plus people in the ballrooms, the food was served promptly and it was great. The eggs were hot, the bacon fully cooked, and the fresh fruit beautiful. Service was excellent, very attentive while staying in the background. Overall a good time, even though it turned out to be quite expensive for me.

On June 17, 2018, I booked two (2) rooms at the Trumbull Marriott for May 2019 as both my children were graduating from college. We chose Marriott based upon its reputation as we would be accompanied by my elderly parents and other family members. There were some modifications to the reservation; however, confirmations were received that there were (2) rooms booked for check-in on Saturday, May 18, 2019. Upon arrival, the hotel only had one room reserved and told us that nothing else was available as there was a wedding on premises. (Please note that such an excuse should never be given to a customer). We were offered a hospitality room with a Murphy bed which was unacceptable. After a significant amount of time, a room was found. In addition to the frustration of not having a room and the staffs initial indication that they would not be providing us with a room despite confirmations (shown to staff), we missed a graduation event. No apologies were offered. We are very upset with the way things were handled and how we were treated at the front desk. It was not until our patience ran thin and our voices got louder did they feel there was a need to attempt to accommodate us. All the while they continued to check in other guests who came after us telling us that those other customers had reserved rooms. We were very unhappy with the way we were treated and the stress caused.

Pleasant stay. We didnt hear families or ppl speaking through the wall. This hotel is very big on relaxation and open air feel of cozy chairs in the lobby. Rooms were a little tight. I traveled with my husband and 3 teenagers. Needless to say space is needed and a roll away bed is in order. Close and convenient nearby stores. I will visit again.

Ive stayed here several times over the years, and it is by far, one of the best Marriotts for the price. The rates are extremely reasonable. The rooms are beautiful and clean, and the restaurant, Parallel Post is one of the main reasons why we like to stay there. The food is from farm to plate, and everything is absolutely delicious. They have an extensive, yet not overwhelming wine list, and a unique menu of cocktails that are tantalizing! This Marriott is a must stay, and its right off the Merritt Parkway.

Great hotel. Went there for a wedding in the middle of business travel I was on. The hotel is in a great quiet location close to the interstates and local shopping. Everything was great. The food at the wedding was outstanding. I went to the bar/ lounge. It is open with a warm atmosphere. The cocktails were excellent along with some light food we ordered. The lobby is large with couches for people to meet and enjoy themselves. The hotel is a great place to stay in that it does not feel like you are cramped staying at a hotel. Lots of open spaces and quiet private spaces as well. Good restaurants and shopping close by as well.

The Marriott family continues to exceed the hotel chain standards. From checking in, to checking out, all interaction with every member of the staff was pleasant. I stayed a total of 3 nights. My room was always cleaned in a timely manner, the staff was always pleasant & worked as a team. Passing staff in the hallway, they always greeted me & asked if I needed anything or had questions. The added personal touch has definitely pushed the Trumbull Marriott Shelton staff above the standards and exceeded personal standards. I would recommend this hotel and the Marriott chain to anyone who is traveling.

The hotel was the official hotel of the Notre Dame University hockey delegation as part of the NCAA Regional in Bridgeport. We were warmly welcomed and treated very nicely. The facility was spacious and reasonably well appointed, although a bit dated in some design aspects - but not egregious. The room was very comfortable, clean and outfitted with adequate amenities - hi definition TV, clean bathroom, etc. The dining and bar facilities were very good. Parallel Post Lounge was comfortable, although the service could be a bit more prompt. The Parallel Post restaurant served an outstanding breakfast/brunch. No issues with the service or quality of food whatsoever. Overall, I would rate this Marriott property as a 9 on a scale of 10.

Very clean hotel, good is great and staff go out of their way to make you comfortable.The key thing for me is that I travel with my service dog and the staff go way beyond to to accommodate us.

We love the location of this hotel and took in a movie nearby on our way there. Our needs are all met and everyone is so nice. We know we can depend on cleanliness, comfort n a nicely decorated hotel. The setting is also attractive. The restaurant is very good and that is pretty unique for a hotel dining experience. Their breakfast buffet is super and the staff is superb. We love to go to this hotel and its restaurant.
