Front Desk and Valet Parking employee are The Best. Very professional.Only the Manzanita p.m. shift was horrible. Employee cleaned the surface of the tables and the chair seat with the same rag. IN front of all guests! She wiped dirty tables and seats after guest, using the same rag. And waiter after her cleaning put silverware on the tables surface without any napkins. In the 5 stars Hotel should know and do not clean tables and chairs with the same dirty cloth. Waiter should know that always serve napkins under silverware. One day housekeeper forgot to lock our door. The Manzanita restaurant is unsafe. Who knows may be housekeepers use the same rag or cloth to clean and TV remote control and toilets seat? Possible, yes.

The reason you stay here is the ski-in-ski-out access to the trails of Northstar. And, in my opinion, that is a perfectly good reason to pay the price to stay here. That simple reason alone brings this property to the next level. Rooms are nice if a little basic for this price point and level of prestige. Food is alright, Cafe Blue was definitely the best out of the bunch, the rest of the food was average. The highlands gondola is great for heading down to the village for a nice dinner after being on the slopes all day. The pool and especially hot tub can get very crowded after the mountain closes, but were otherwise enjoyable. The staff and service was good, if not anything notable. Overall, would stay here again

We stayed Tuesday - Saturday, the initial arrival was fantastic. We were immediately greeted by the valet and reception staff. The in-room dining menu is so-so with very limited options. Of course, this is California so we knew the prices were going to be high for drinks and food. However, the in room dining fee is 22% plus a $7 delivery charge. The surrounding town of Truckee is very cute with lots of dining options. We visited the spa and got massages which were excellent. Ruth and Michael were amazing !! We may return

This is a luxurious resort with a great restaurant. Dinner selection is very good and the flavor is excellent. The service is a bit laid back, I would expect a higher level of service at this type of resort. We are locals and drive there, there is only valet parking and it costs $25.00, a bit much on top of an expensive dinner and they should consider lowering it or allowing self parking.

My husband and I celebrated our first wedding anniversary at the Ritz Carlton, Lake Tahoe this past weekend and I would be remiss if I didn’t say that the Ladies and Gentleman of the Ritz Carlton made our stay absolutely exceptional. First to mention, the property is absolutely breathtaking. We opted to rent a car and drive from Reno, and the drive up to the hotel was stunning. As you come upon the hotel, it just blends into the scenery so serenely that you are a bit surprised when you finally realize that there’s a hotel there. All of our interactions with hotel staff were personalized and personable. I would like to take the time to mention by name Madeline and Claudia at the Front Desk, Charlie and Robbie with Valet, and Barry at the Concierge Desk. All of these folks took the time to get to know my husband and myself and treat us like family of the Ritz Carlton. They had really great recommendations for anything and everything that we wanted to do, and Charlie every morning had fresh coffee and water bottles as we left the hotel for our hikes. Our dinner at Manzanita was also very good. All of the amenities and facilities were world class, especially the heated pool and hot tubs. Our room was everything you would expect with a fireplace, marble bathtub and separate shower and the world class, comfy as a cloud, Ritz Carlton bed. This review may be long winded, but I believe that it deserves mention that our stay at the Ritz Carlton, Lake Tahoe will be remembered for a lifetime and we can’t wait to return.

I’ve stayed at other Ritz locations in the past and this one should not even be called a Ritz. We actually checked out 6 days early and relocated to another hotel, our experience was so poor. I’ve never done that in my life. The location is awful- DO NOT stay here in summer. It’s not close to anything, including restaurants and Lake Tahoe itself. STAY IN SOUTH TAHOE- you’ll thank me. You can’t even see the lake from anywhere in the hotel. There is NO transportation either. We were told at check in after asking that no Uber’s come there. With no car, you are literally stuck. Unless you want to keep scheduling rides with their “preferred driver” Rodney who is booked out days in advance and conveniently charges more for the ride than your dinner costs- a 13 min ride cost us 100 bucks. The Ritz shuttle conveniently only takes you to their WAY overpriced lakeside “club” or a free but very low class public beach. The “club” is a small house they bought where you pay 350 a day PER PERSON for food and non-alcoholic drinks. And it’s literally next to the previously mentioned trashy public beach. And there is only ONE restaurant at the Ritz. Don’t let their website fool you. The “living room” is not a restaurant- it’s you sitting around the lobby of the hotel ordering apps. And the poolside place closes at 5 and it’s 40 bucks for a burger and 30 for a pizza. The inside bar also only serves apps but they list that as a “restaurant” too. The one actual restaurant is very overpriced. It’s a nice racket for them to trap you there to have to pretty much eat every meal at one overpriced place. Finally, the spa was CLOSED half the week we would have been there, had we not left early. We specifically asked about the spa prior to arriving and were never told it would be closed half of our stay. And of course, the time it was open every appt was booked out much like their preferred “driver”.SKIP THE RITZ IN TAHOE.

Shocking experience at the Ritz Carlton Lake Tahoe …1. Upon returning to our room after dinner we discovered that our hotel room door had been left propped open after turndown service & we had to search our belongings to ensure nothing was missing due to the security breach (no safe available in room).2. Valet is required and is $55 / night to park in an empty lot in the mountains. Our security system showed the valet service left the car unlocked overnight.3. The front desk does not honor Marriott Gold membership upgrade eligibility. They claimed no availability, but hotel was more than 1/2 empty and upgraded rooms were available online for reservation. They offered to upgrade if we paid $$$.4. We were charged $50 for in room dining Eggs Benedict (price was high due to service / delivery charges and fees) … it arrived with no hollandaise sauce. My gosh … shocked to say this, but we have seriously had better service and more security at a Best Western!!

What a beautiful resort! We throughly enjoyed all the amenities the Ritz had to offer and had the best sleep of our lives. They kindly upgraded our room for us and we had an amazing view. The staff were always incredibly friendly and helpful. We will definitely be staying here again!P.s. The only downfall is the Backyard BBQ restaurant. We wanted to love the food there, but it is not good and way too salty. It was a bummer considering it was $75 for a meal we couldn’t even finish.

I have never had such a poor experience at a supposed 5 star hotel. One in which management had complete disregard for the safety of our party of 9 including our two babies and 90+ year old grandmother. We reluctantly valeted our sprinter van (not optional) in order to have a truly subpar meal at the manzanita restaurant to celebrate our babies’ birthdays (including our 26week preemie). We returned to our vehicle with a giant screw in the tire. The issue is “under investigation “, with no option of a courtesy vehicle back. While we attempted to drive back to our hotel, the tire blew and we are truly lucky to be alive. We are now stranded on the side of the road at 10:30pm with no transportation options back to our hotel. This incident will be going to the media

We loved our stay. 3 nights - special celebration for my birthday. It was first class, five star customer service by all. Everywhere we went they knew our name and made sure to not only wish me a Happy birthday but made it special. Jacob from Food and beverage delivered a gift my friend had sent for my birthday of champagne and strawberries to our room. . During that delivery he asked about our dogs names and I proceeded to tell him the story that one was named Artie after my favorite wine Artemis and the other is named Perrie after Perrier as I love sparkling water. Well that night Jacob, delivered a personalized note about the dogs and my birthday along with a bottle of Artemis and sparking water. That personal touch will remind me of the ritz and the thoughtfulness of people like Jacob and all the staff for years to come. Other staff that went above and beyond and I am sure I forgetting some are, Maddie the hostess, Sofia the waitress at breakfast, Gabby our waitress at dinner, the lady bartender sorry didnt catch her name, the two young ladies at the front desk, to Sophia in the spa who gave me my best facial yet.Thank you to all. You made our stay special and we will be sure to come back to what feels like a home away from home where everyone knows our name.Ken and Ana Klein

We recently stayed 4 days in a nice room with a good view. However, (and this is taking into account difficulty finding people to work)....the housekeeping staff did an average to below average job on cleaning our room and we were forced to asked to have sheets changed which clearly were dirty, as was the white comforter (as I sat on them after a hike!!!). The main restaurant (Manzanita) is VERY expensive for the quality and amount of food you receive. For example, for breakfast we ordered the pancakes. Simple, right? After being served 3 small-to medium size pancakes, I had to specifically ask for maple syrup and butter. We also needed to ask for ketchup for the potatoes. Why? Bring condiments with the order..... that should be automatic!! The dinner menu is ok but the prices are exorbitant and the portions very small. You are essentially a captive guest since you must drive 20-30 mins to get anywhere from the hotel. Dont ask the hotel to make reservations elsewhere (off-property) .....the response is theyre booked up. Thats not quite true if you call yourself. Ive stayed at MANY Ritz Carltons around the U.S. and the world. This is more of a 2 1/2 star not 4 star hotel. The pool is nice and the towels fairly new. BUT....we ordered two (2) pizzas for lunch. The pizzas were about 10 inches and the price.....(wait for it)....with a pool service charge of 15%, and a $5 tip .... $68.57......for TWO 10 pizzas that were average, at best. Lastly, they wont even put a mini-refrigerator in the room. A BIG empty place in the room cabinet for a mini-refrigerator. No snacks in the room (even to purchase). Why not? I surmise they want to you order food only from them at the restaurant or the Living Room lounge. So, bring a cooler and plenty of your favorite late night snacks. Did I just say bring a cooler to a Ritz-Carlton? Yes, I did.

I have stayed here twice. Once seven years ago, and then again for a recent five day stay.I am a graduate of the Ritz Carlton management training program. I am an Ambassador status with Marriott. I stay in 25+ Ritz Carltons a year. This hotel wouldn’t even deserve a Fairfield Inn logo in front of it. It has gone way down hill. Where do I begin?-1-Towels in the room were frayed.-2-The toiletries were that of what you’d find at the $.99 store. The Asprey brand that is in every Ritz was in some rooms, but not others.-3-Don’t think for a second that any of the bellmen are going to hold the door for you. They are too busy chatting it up.-4-If you have a 10:00 AM spa appointment, and they ask you to come at 9:45 AM… don’t expect to be let in. Kind of defeats the purpose of coming 15 minutes early. Do expect the concierge to pop an attitude.-5-If the aerial tram is shut down, you are just SOL. We ordered dinner, went to go pick it up, then the tram is shut. Shuttle please? They don’t have one.-6-The general tone of the staff is “don’t bother me”. That whole Ritz Carlton mentality of “the customer is paramount” is totally devoid from this hotel. What makes Ritz great is just missing from the hotel. While architecture is helpful, it’s the customer service that made Ritz great all these years. My general opinion is that Ritz is no longer Ritz. St. Regis and Four Seasons are far better brands. If Ritz wants to run their hotels this way, or hire subpar staff that aren’t up to the task, then put a big warning label on the reservation page and don’t charge $800/night.I would *never* come back to this hotel. Awful.

Issue after issue. We checked in and was asked for a card to hold a $100 incidentals (typical for hotels) I had an $840.00 hole on my card. We purchased drinks from the pool side bar and entered the pool with them like everyone else. Upon entering the pool we were screamed at by an employee that no drinks were allowed. Upon talking to the G. M. he told us that drinks are acceptable in the pool. To add to the situation my fiancé and I were in contact with the wedding planner to discuss this venue as an option for our wedding. We decided to explore and experience the property as guests before moving forward with confirming a date with the wedding planner. During our stay we were informed that the planner we were in contact with was no longer with the company. This was news to us. Upon check out we called down for a bell hop to assist with bags, we were told they would be up right away. We waited 20 minutes before we decided to bring our bags down ourselves. When we got to the front door we found 4 employees huddled around the valet stand. This is absolutist unacceptable for the Ritz Carlton standard especially with limited amenities.

While at the pool tonight with my six year old daughter an adult male was trying to get in (requires a hotel key card) and then repeatedly asked my daughter to come talk to him through the fence, bring him a pool toy, COME CLOSE and dry it off. I repeatedly told him to leave her alone and he did not. There were no guests or staff around. I had to call the hotel. They came and asked him to leave the pool area. Mgt did nothing. Placer cty sheriff was contacted and are on their way as mgt was non responsive. This is how you treat your guests? When I said I was leaving (early) because of it the mgr said he might be able to waive the early cancelation fee.guests

We had dinner at the Ritz’s Manzanita restaurant last night. We were not staying at the hotel. On top of spending over $300 on dinner, the Ritz is now charging diners $25 (with validation from restaurant - otherwise $50) for parking (then tip). I get it if you buy a up of coffee, but given what we spent, I would have appreciated complimentary parking. This used to be the case a few years back and I was disappointed to learn that the Ritz has chosen to go this route. It will make us think twice about going again.

They say your last impression is your overall impression and remarkably The Ritz Tahoe nailed it. We checked in and we were asked to place a card on file for incidentals and were told the card hold would not exceed over $150 per day yet our credit card was charged $840 without the best well-trained explanation. Additionally, we purchased drinks from the pool bar which were served in plastic and attempted to enjoy them in the pool but we were embarrassedly shouted at across the pool from a “gentleman” named Gus. We were confused by the request of Gus as others in the pool were enjoying their beverages with no questions asked. We later learned after a conversation with the front of the house manager that drinks served in plastic are acceptable in and around the pool. Craig, Food & Beverage manager, did his best to accommodate us with a wonderful dinner. We were seeking wedding venue options with The Ritz Tahoe on our list, but after this experience, our decision has been made up and we tossed The Ritz out of the toolbox of contenders. When it became time to checkout at our generous 4 o’clock late checkout time, we called down for a bell hop to assist us with our bags, however, we were never assisted after waiting over 20 minutes. We shuttled our own bags to the lobby and found that 4 “gentlemen” were perceivably doing nothing and could have assisted us with our bags as requested on our room phone. This Ritz location during these unprecedented times is not worth the money paid while amenities are limited at this secluded hotel property. Unfortunately, because of our reports to The Ritz on numerous occasions during our stay, Jason, Housekeeping Manager, provided an absolute unsatisfactory and less than par Ritz Carlton experience by requesting us to leave and called the Placer County Sheriff to escort myself, a black gay male and my causation fiancé. Sub-standardly our experience summarized in this review is the worst hospitality experience we’ve ever experience from a Marriott / Bonvoy property.

Whats makes three days of skiing at Northstar even better? Any time you can get here. We ran into a hometown, cohort friend and family so arranged for some virally-distanced smores in front of a huge fireplace. Getting there means riding a gondola, which the kids loved. Views on the ride include a truly impressive group of properties featuring modern mountain design, huge windows, hot tubs and a spot on the mountain that no doubt fetches big dollars. The smores kits were about $30 and featured fancy packaging, skewers and enough ingredients for a family of four. Lots of space for kids to play in the snow and trees in the flats. A little tricky to interface with the property when not eating at the restaurants or not as a guest of the hotel. Still we found bathrooms and wandered a bit through the hotel to also get sushi for dinner.

We were so excited for our stay.I’ll start off by saying that this 1 star review is mainly for the item that went mysteriously “missing” from our room during the day while we were out skiing. I had to file a claim and go through the motions of having an item stolen from our room in a “luxury” resort, only to be told that there was nothing that could be done... just an awful look for a luxury resort. On top of that, the folks that were documenting the issue were being rude. The item was taken from our room on day 2 of our stay and we were there for 2 more days. Needless to say, it ruined what would have otherwise been a good experience. Just a very uncomfortable experience. As far as the actual resort, it’s nice, but I can’t recommend it during Covid. The experience is just not the same. The spa, gym, and restaurants are closed so you need to go in there with that expectation.Overall, a good experience that was really spoiled by handling a serious issue in the worst manner possible. The restaurants, service and food all excellent. Walking around the grounds was invigorating and absolutely beautiful. From sunrise to sunset the picture was stunning. We arrived as all the Christmas lights were going up and it made everything very festive. We would love to return again some day!

Bravo to the management team for creating the friendliest, hard-working, professional hotel staff ever. From the valet staff to the front desk to the concierge to spa staff and beyond...BRAVO. My friend and I left for dinner and came back to a clean room that we dirtied from our other activities. They left chocolates, extra water, and stuff as a courtesy to us. The hotel was very accommodating and never told us no. If you ask, you shall receive. I loved the Living Room lounge and the entertainment from the dueling pianos at that time. My only complaints are that I still think it was a little overpriced. I stayed at fancy resorts in Hawaii that were only 1/4 of the cost of this place. There wasnt free coffee or continental breakfast (which are typically at the cheaper hotels). I would love to come back to this place again.

The staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and known. That was greatly appreciated. Very personable and excellent customer service. Very family friendly which wasn’t necessarily for us but it didn’t hinder our experience in any way. Just isn’t a place for adults only looking for a quiet romantic getaway. But if you want attentive and beyond personal service, I’d not recommend any other place. Beautiful grounds that feel like a colony on a private mountain. Lovely.

The hotel is absolutely lovely, the environment is beautiful, and the staff were great. We also were happily surprised by the great quality of the food. We never lacked for things to do or interesting people to chat with, even though our visit was in the off season. Additionally, Northstar is the most convenient ski resort to the Reno airport, which is great for guests. Yes, everything is a bit expensive, but that’s to be expected at a ski resort. We will definitely be back many times.

We spent a long weekend at the Ritz, taking advantage of the ski-in ski-out location. Its a beautiful property, right on the mountain, with lovely views and mellifluous indoor decor. The room was fabulous with a great view. Everything was easy the minute we walked in - our bags were whisked away, we were shown to our lovely room, the mountain concierge was helpful, the mountain was literally right there, the restaurants had a good set of meal offerings. I would happily stay here again. I have 3 negative points - first, the beds were really too soft for me and I didnt have a great sleep. Also, the hotel doesnt provide a refrigerator for free. Luckily it was cold enough outside so we just popped our leftovers on the balcony. Finally, the lines at the cafe are a bit intolerable - they should ensure there are enough people staffed during peak traffic times to manage the line.

You must come to this ritz. Summer or winter, it’s a perfect destination. My wife and I came here many times, and each time was amazing and more than perfect. In fact, it was so amazing we had our wedding here. The staff is friendly, professional and pays great attention to detail. The rooms are amazing, the food is delicious and the best in the area by far. The ski in ski out is lovely in the winter, as is the easy access to mountain biking and hiking in the summer.

My 2 daughters, my 80 year old mom and I had a great stay at the Ritz. The staff were very attentive to our needs. We enjoyed skiing, marshmalogy and dining. The Staff at theMountain/ski concierge were very helpful and made our skiing experience a great one! The gondola to the village was nice and the lift operators were never bothered to stop and help my mom. The housekeeping staff were very attentive to our needs with getting coffee, extra towels, etc. The layout of the resort is well thought out and the staff really made our stay an enjoyable one!

Where do we begin...upon check in Charlie greeted us with a smile and awesome attitude which set the tone, then the gal at check in (I wish I could remember her name ) was also awesome and helped us with an upgrade for a small fee. The girl at Mountain Concierge (Maureen from Costa Rica) went above and beyond as well. Then at dinner a kind young man (Germain was his name I think) took an interest in us and when we got back to our room there was a little stuffed animal and note from him to enjoy our stay.We cant wait to come back just because of these reasons. Northstar is great, but very crowded and a bit disorganized, but your Ritz makes it worth it. Thank you so much.

This Ritz hotel is a Ritz In Name Only. I thought long and hard about how I would remember this stay and decided it was a solid 3-star experience. As many others have mentioned, its nowhere near the 5-star caliber that most Ritz-Carltons claim and exhibit. Ive stayed at many fine hotels in my work and personal life and definitely felt a bit disappointed by this one after spending five days here (Sunday through Thursday.) Ill try to be fair and balanced in my review, starting with the Pros.PROS:-Its in a gorgeous alpine location, nearly 7000 ft up in the air, right by a major lift at Northstar-The rustic lodge vibe was beautiful, with the large fire pit and swimming pool that changes colors at night-There are fireplaces galore, inside in the lobby, and in every room.-The rooms are spacious - the basic room we had was 450 sq feet.CONS:-During this time of COVID, its very clear that this hotel is not quite prepared to offer the best experience to customers. As an example, they never mentioned to us that housekeeping would only occur every three days. We kept having to call down for shower gel and to get our trash emptied. This could have been an opportunity for them to spin this as customer safety, to mention this right at check-in, and to also perhaps provide a door hanger where you fill out which amenities you need every day and if you need your trash emptied and towels replenished. We felt like we were staying at a Residence Inn that forgot to clean.-The service is really hit or miss. On our first day, we ordered breakfast at Cafe Bleu and there were three people in there, with only us two as customers. One lady helped take the orders to make the drinks, another was trying to ring us up and was a bit rude as she kept messing up the order because she couldnt hear us through masks. The third was just standing there. Then come this morning, I ordered a croissant and the lady offered to heat it but then immediately after my order someone handed me a croissant that was cold. (Minor but clearly they need retraining.)-The room is very very dated. There were holes in the sheets that I mistook for bugs until I looked closer and realized they were giant holes. The toilet doesnt flush unless you hold it down and sometimes it needs two flushes.-We did get some small bug bites and later saw a black bug on the wall in the toilet room - not sure if it was from that.-The resort fee is still quite high for basically offering nothing but a pool that you have to make a reservation for and internet.Compared to my stay at the Ritz in Tokyo during cherry blossom season, this stay felt like a stay at a budget hotel. Please, take this opportunity during COVID to rebrand your housekeeping services and retrain your staff to offer that something extra. Put a nice sachet on the door instead of turndown or just do something that makes it feel like the hotel really thought about the customers. And since trash isnt able to be emptied so often, perhaps find a larger classy bin that has a cover so empty water bottles arent just piling up.

We’ve been to so many Ritz I can’t count and this was one of the only ones that had several disappointments. The BBQ outdoor dining was not open as advertised. The pool bar closed at 5:00 pm. The rooms service was poor at best. No new towels, very little water replacement. The front desk could not or would not tell us where to eat breakfast off property as your only options are a $200 breakfast or a limited coffee shop in the hotel. There are countless options in Truckee and they couldn’t name one. The concierge was very helpful and knowledgeable as were the car attendants. Wish we had known that the Ritz lake property is so limited that they only take 40/day. I saw many people upset that there was not 1 day available during their stay, including us.

We stayed here a few weeks ago, and the overall experience was great! The hotel itself is beautifully designed, quite elegant, and quiet, easily one of the best that Ive stayed at in terms of luxury. We went during off season and also during Covid, so Im guessing the hotel was a lot emptier than it normally is, but I actually felt safer from a social distancing standpoint. Anyways, the room was spectacular, and had a cute little fireplace, and the bathroom was so classy and elegant. We dined at the Living Room restaurant, and although the seating was kind of awkward (seat yourself) and the tables were a little low, it was such a relaxing and cozy environment I would have stayed there longer, except I still am not a huge fan of eating inside at this time. We also dined at Manzanita restaurant for breakfast, and I will say, I had the best pancakes Ive ever eaten in my entire life.... they were lifechanging and I would go back just for those. The service for both was fantastic. As far as things to do, Im guessing during snow season, the Ritz would be fantastic because it has its own lift and rental shop. They gave us complementary marshmallow kits, which we easily utilized. We just walked around the property and hid indoors for the remaining portion of our staycation, but I was very impressed and I think we will try to head back in a few years or so.

Valet attendant was possibly the rudest human being Ive ever met. My beautiful wife and I skied half day and then enjoyed lunch at the Ritz. As we headed back to the car, the previously mentioned valet, was loudly asking us to stop. He began berating us for walking through a portion of the hotel with ski gear on. He stated we walked by a sign that told us this very thing. He ranted on about a $500 fine for walking in the hotel with ski gear. We probably walked by 10 employees who said nothing and we obviously did not see any signage. While I can appreciate rules, I dont need to be scolded as though Im a 5 year old by an angry employee leading a miserable life. Furthermore, the hotel is on a ski mountain!?!? I will not return

Our family came up to the Lake Tahoe Ritz during our schools ski week and were joined by 2 other families in our group. We had an AMAZING trip, amenities are always top notch, rooms spacious and filled with water bottles galore, club level is the way to go here. Meals, snacks, cocktails, special coffee drinks all available and of excellent quality. The lounge gives you a space outside of your hotel room to mingle with other guests and still have the luxury of roaming around in your lounge wear. They had a tv and drawers filled with board games for our children. Extra plus, considering the copious amounts of snow they received while we were there for our stay. The arcade was a fabulous retreat for the kiddos and the staff is very friendly and just feels like they appreciate children in there hotel. The marshmallow station at 4:30 is aMUST and they make seasonal housemate marshmallows everyday! Love it, we have been to the Ritz @ The Bacara and Ritz @ SanFrancisco during there Teddy Bear tea for extended stays and this Ritz is hands down the best location of the 3! Highly recommend you pay for what you get and this place exceeds the price tag. And oh one last thing, thanks to whomever moves the teddy bear located in the lobby. My children woke every morning delighted to run down and find his new location and receive their prizes.

I came to Lake Tahoe with 3 friends - 31 year old females. We got two rooms with a connecting door which was plenty of space - the rooms and bathrooms are very spacious. Each room had 2 closets, a fireplace, a desk, two comfy chairs and the most comfortable bed. Im not kidding - the MOST comfortable bed!! Everything is updated and nice.Amenities at this location are great. The cafe has excellent coffee and the pool was lovely (we went in July). Manzanita was perfect for brunch/lunch. Lake Tahoe in general is an absolute gem - 10/10 recommend going there. So much to do and it is absolutely beautiful.

This Ritz is in a nice mountain retreat. Quiet relaxing, ten minutes ride to Truckee .My room had 2 working fireplaces and big screen TVs . Dinner at Manzanita was excellent. There is no breakfast except for room service. Cafe Blue good for coffee muffin and yogurt.Seems like it would be great location during ski season as it is right at Northstar. Aside from a few glitches, I recommend this hotel for a Lake Tahoe vacation.

We only travel once a year, and this year we picked the Ritz in Lake Tahoe. I will definitely be going back to this place! Quick service when we needed anything. I loved having the parking staff to help get things from my car when needed. They were both willing and kind. The service staff answered the phone with a greeting that was personal. The food was AMAZING! The staff was incredible. The spa was also AMAZING! I didnt know it was a part of our stay to use the steam, sauna, showers, and spa tub freely, I would have spent more time there. I felt the massage was a little overpriced, but the massage therapist was very well trained and knew what she was doing. The spa was clean and smelled great, and the amenities were awesome! Our bathroom in our room was incredible! The bath tub was huge! Will Return soon :)

If you look young since their clientele are older, get ready to be treated like a second rate citizen.Room service food was poor. When I bite into my chicken wings, it was cold in the middle. I have allergies to feather and request foam pillows. My request wasn’t honored even though it was a knowledge as taken care of. I also was asked multiple times at the restaurant if I were a guest at the hotel because if I wasn’t, I didn’t have access to the living room. I was dressed in ski attire and had just left the hotel doors. I’ve stayed at multiple Ritz and never had I had such poor service. Check in wasn’t any better. No info provided or acknowledgement of my elite status. I might as well stayed at a Marriott courtyard for the Service provided.

The Ritz-Carlton in Lake Tahoe is by far one of the warmest properties around. Staff were energetic, warm, friendly and hospitable! Suite was magnificent. Food excellent. We hardly felt the need to stray away and venture around town! The is a perfect hotel for our family. It is a combination of staff attitudes and ambiance. The ski concierge is a great feature which we use. Skiing it critical to its success- we only come to ski. Hopefully global warming will not materially impact the mountain.
