We have had a wonderful experience at Sylvan. The teachers are excellent, the environment is supportive, and the management is available and flexible to our needs. I would highly recommend Sylvan to to anyone who is looking to support their childrens learning or progress them to a higher level.

Sylvan centers of Troy is a for sure blessing. They were able to help my son achieve above grade level in reading and math. He loves it. We are also taking advantage of virtual tutoring during covid. Mrs Kris has made sure all of his educational needa are met and they also do assessments and discuss the results with you. They are kid oriented and teach is kid according to their learning capabilities. I love their professionalism, caring nature and pro-activeness.

Teachers and support staff have been very supportive of my son. He has attention and fears of making mistakes and they accommodated his special needs wonderfully. He has developed a trusting relationship with his teachers there. I would highly recommend Sylvan.

My daughter has been attending Sylvan for the last two years. Her confidence and grades in math drastically improved. With covid going on the center has offered zoom meetings. We love that option and she will continue here.

Sylvan Learning and Mr. Kevin were able to step in and help when we were impacted by the school shutdowns. With months at home, my son was falling behind. But, he is quickly coming back and that is because of both his teacher and the program. I thought he would resist tutoring during the summer but he looks forward to his sessions each week. I have no doubt this decision and Sylvan saved him from starting middle school behind.

My daughter is 6 years old and struggles in school. I reached out to the Troy Sylvan and they have helped and been awesome every step of the way.

After the center staff identified me as a previous client, I couldnt get another appt., So much screening over the phone. As if people cannot ssee whats happening. I was tired the phone chase, few of the staff appeared to personally ignore my calls and request for an appointment for my school age child. Im happy to find an alternative. The initial assessment is also 2x higher than the other places.

My 9th grader has been coming to Sylvan of Troy for a few weeks, and while we haven’t seen any results in his schoolwork yet, I can tell he seems more confident about schoolwork and he’s happy that he is on the right track to get the help he needs right now.The teachers seem very personable, and the location is convenient!

I read the reviews of Sylvan and I will admit that I was a little nervous to enroll her after reading the reviews. After strong encouragement of my friend who sends her son, who has become an A/B students, I made the call. It has truly been an awesome experience. The Sylvan team has been extremely friendly, professional and informative from the very first phone call to the present. When I would pick my daugher up from school and ask how her day was and for her to tell me what shed learn, I could never get an answer, now with Sylvan she is excited to share what she is learning and can tell me what she worked on during her sessions. I appreciate the fact that I can even go online to review what my daughter is learning, will soon work on and what she has mastered. My daughter looks forward to going to Sylvan and is comfortable with the Sylvan team. Although, my daughter has been with Sylvan a short time, I already see the benefits and Im confident that this investment has been a wise decision and a great investment in my childs education and future.

In just 5 months, both my son and daughter improved 25 points or so each on their standardized testing for reading, dramatically reaching near or to grade level. One of their teachers at school attributed the increase to the tutoring. Both my kids, after initially complaining, enjoyed going to Sylvan for each session. They also had an easy way to finance the tutoring over time to make the payments very affordable.

My daughter has been going to Sylvan for several years to supplement what she is getting in her high school special education program. She enjoys coming and feels very comfortable with the teachers. The Sylvan staff works hard to make sure they are providing my daughter with what she needs educationally. We are very thankful for the contribution Sylvan has provided to her educational progress!

Sylvan has helped my son gain confidence in his abilities. He loves going to Sylvan even after a long day of school. We are very happy with Sylvan and the progress we are making.

My daughter is going to be in 2nd grade this fall.She is behind in reading and a bit in math. We have not been here long but so far so good. She feels confident in math. Still feels behind in reading but is eager to keep at it. I have noticed a positive difference when reading with her.She always leaves there with a smile! We will continue to attend sylvan in troy.

What you have here is very GOOD Sales women. You pay about $45 an hour. Now they make it really easy with the 0% finance plan. They give you a plan on how many hours your child will need to get to a certain grade. They told us that our son would be all set at 100 hours. $4900 loan. !00 hours were finished then the GOOD sales women Kim and the owner told us we needed additional hours bang $2500 added to loan. That was finished then again $1800 added to loan.Do the math. Finally our son was tested and he was not even able to complete the test he failed. The owners explanation...he was tired. Thank you for your nice donation and good luck. Now during through the whole process they conducted tests and exams and according to them he was doing just fine but needs more hours. According to them he was in grad 3 reading level at the end of the course. Public school conducts a test and surprise hes at grad 1 level. What a surprise. If you have money to waste go ahead and enroll your child. If your smart you will hire a private Tutor and your will get results. Moral of our expensive experience dont get fooled by fancy words and nice awards and letters of praise from past clients...Good Luck

Great experience when I was a kid. Was so much fun! Miss it

My son is 16 and has been going to Sylvan in Troy for almost a year getting about 4 hours of tutoring a week in math and writing. When he started with Sylvan, we had just learned that he had ADHD and his GPA was a 2.5 at the end of his freshman year. Sylvan has been amazing at helping him to learn exactly what he needs to know based on testing to discover what he was unable to learn in the previous years due to his disability and then focusing only on these areas to get him to grade level. Sylvans style is patient, kind, and always praising the kids on their accomplishments. After years of feeling like failures, this is just what these kids need. My sons improvement in the past year is miraculous. Medication unlocked his brain but Sylvan also helped him get caught up and ahead of his peers and increased his confidence. He is now a top performer in all his classes and has a 3.7 GPA (after re-taking 6 classes over the past 2 summers). I highly recommend Sylvan. The Troy management are very kind to the parents too and very gracious in accommodating a tutoring schedule that may need changing based on your childs ever changing extra-curricular schedules.

My daughter is a grade level behind going into the 5th grade. I knew she was going to need tutoring help this summer and after researching a few places as well as private tutors, this center is a perfect fit for her. She is only behind in Math and has always hated going to tutors, but she loves coming here, which is a comforting feeling. It is more on the expensive side and they way they run their programs tends to make it a lot of hours which equals a lot of money, but it is helpful with the 0% financing. I was sad to witness my daughter and her lack of confidence working with math in a group setting at school, and after meeting with the Director, coming up with a plan, this has been worth ever dollar to see her improvement and actually wanting to go to tutoring. Im sure it helps with Slyvans reward system, but she is not just getting gifts, she is actually getting the math facts down which in return is giving her her confidence. Thank you Slyvan.

My son goes to sylvan currently and everytime he comes home he wants to show me all the things he learned that day. He cant wait until the next day so he can go back and learn more to bring home and share, im glad i decided to bring him there.

Sylvan does a great job and has very good communication with the parents.
