I called customer service, I waited on the line for about 16mins and when it ring someone just hung up on me, Very rude
I had general inquiries as I was recently released from the hospital. The staff is extremely rude and treated us like peasants. The wait time was ridiculous and they were unapologetic. Im sure its due to the that most people are there for some form of government assistance and good customer service is not required. There was one silver lining, the security guards were great. They are super friendly, we engaged in humorous banter and it made the visit allot less taxing.

I went to a review of my case. I dont wait to long to be call. My case worker was very attentive and helpful. Very good security, you need to pass a checkpoint to enter. They check your purse, bags and have metal detectors. You cant bring nothing liquid or food.
Yay.. I can give Richard Buckley a huge Thanks for his help. He got me my apt on the date I needed it by n we only had 10 days to get it all done. N he was new. N did a much better job than ppl whos been there n supposedly know what they are doing.. lol Richard Buckley U are awesome

This is the most ratchet social services building hands down ! Security guards rude! They forced me to sit in the section in the corner because i had a stroller then 45 minutes into my wait ask you to move and caution the area off for some reason they felt they didn’t have to explain.Had to ask to speak to a supervisor who still didn’t tell me exactly why the section was cautioned off. PSA try not to bring your kids.there is no consideration for them ! I had my 9 day newborn with me and 2 yr old son just to accomplish nothing because I was so disgusted I left.there over a hour just to add newborn to Medicaid
Was really busy, but they helped me fairly quick, I went on a Tuesday around 2:00 because they are open until 8pm
Everyone was very friendly. I never wait long. All my questions get answered. I had a small issue with my SNAP card so I was able to go right there and pick one up within minutes which was amazing.
Was in and out in about 20 minutes. Had everything done before my visit which made it that much faster.
Go here if you are homeless they will help you if your trying to apply for any other services prepare to wait all day
When you really need a help up they are there. Sad so many abuse it but if they help even one truly in need it is worth it. A full range of services and though it is tiring, the people do care. Show respect, be honest and youll get it in return. Long wait but worth it. Ask about all programs. If you dont ask they dont know to offer.

Very unprofessional and rude, went in today to leave my application for Medicaid because I’m pregnant and haven’t been able to see a doctor. Went to ask the lady in the customer service area and she is very rude and unprofessional to be in that position, did not help me at all and was just wasting my time.
The woman who worked my case was very helpful and even rushed my app so that I can come back following day foe my benefits. Yes it was quite a wait and paperwork process. But I am grateful for any/all help I received.
Very rude and unprofessional beginning with the security officers at the front. Long lines are to be expected because if you havent noticed, they employ the most incompetent people. Everyone behind the glass is either, eating or talking about their night. This behaviour is the same over the phone as well. Foul language can be heard, music, background converstaion. I had one girl hang up the phone and when I called back she just left it off the hook in which I could hear her talking to her co-workers. It isnt just the ones behind the glass either, its also the ones with advanced degrees. My thing is, you couldve gone to school for anything yet you chose social work, everyone knows that social work isnt a profession that pays well regardless to whether you thought you were making a difference...We all know you all encounter some of the worst, uneducated individuals but there are some of us who are educated and happen to temporarily need 1 or more services. Especially medicaid, Id like to give this womans name but Ill refrain. Her attitude is piss poor. Ive never met her in person and thats a good thing. She should really consider early retirement. Do better!
Disgusting. Absolutely appalling. This place shut be shut down and all staff FIRED. Disgraceful the way they treat human beings. I went here to help a friend and feel so bad for people who actually depend on this place for their survival. The staff are incredibly rude, unprofessional (talking on the phone with their spouses half the time), completely disorganized, condescending, and the security guards hit on the vulnerable woman applying for benefits. No regard or respect for anyones time. They laugh at the applicants as if they are better than them just because they have some government bureaucratic job. I am reporting them. Good thing we have connections with our President to shut this place down. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME HERE.
My experience so far has been stressful. I have never needed any government services until now, and I find that they make it so, so, very hard... I do not understand how some people do this for life.... They have no consideration for anyone elses time. I guess they feel since you are here needing help, that you are running on their time? More than half of the staff should be fired because they arent here to help, they are more concerned with their social lives and conversations and act like we are here to annoy them. I would file a complaint but... does it really matter? Its a shame how slow they are. I was there for 4 hours before I was seen, and I was out of the first 3 to arrive. Its just a lack of caring and laziness.
As long as you get there when they open you can take care of business fairly quick. The window clerk was friendly and the Social Worker was too and very helpful.

So I went back today to apply for rental assistance and J. CURRAN said NO without looking at any of my paper work and started typing my denial letter even after I said what if I no longer wanted to apply? Then she started mumbling and handed me a denial letter.... WOW.... This is the last place on the earth to go to... my Sister have severe seziurs and they rejected her Medicaid application, and no further explanation... and forced me to wait more then 2 hours, and the lady from the back camp up and said, there is nothing we can do to help you
This place is just outrages. First it takes so long just to get called and then after the staff give attitude especially that old lady. I understand there’s a lot of people but she was just being racist and wasn’t trying to help us. Linda in the other hand is very kind and helps with everything that I need.

Wait time is absurdly long. Expect to wait 1 - 3 hours to see a case worker. Even waiting on line to submit copies of documents can take up to an hour. The case worker themselves are unhelpful and rude. This place can be highly incompetent and unorganized. They constantly lose important documents. Always an awful experience. They really want to make it as difficult a process for you as possible. It is like salt on an open wound when you are struggling in life and just want to get back on your feet.
The person who helped me was very kind, pleasant and resourceful.
Everyone is ghetto and unprofessional, they talk to you any kind of way and dont care. They think just because you asking for some assistance that they are better then you. Some of us out here are trying to get by and havent abused the welfare system. Thats how they treat you though. Getting in contact with someone higher almost dose not exist. They need to retrain all of there staff or flat out just hire new people. They wonder why everyone wants to argue with them, when theyre the ones 99% of the time who give a nasty attitude first.
A very long wait and the case workers need an attitude check cause they really shouldnt be talking to clients like that. I shouldnt have to argue with someone to do their job correctly

Not everyone who is employed at MCBOSS is there to help and a good portion of there are to provide some assistants to people in need. Just about every visit for me was a pleasant one......

I went there to get help with childcare for be infant and was told since I have a job is my own problem to deal with. I told the guy that I really need help with childcare so I didnt lose my job he told me if I wasnt working they could possibly help me buy what sense is that? If I dont have a job what good is childcare. I hate this place passionately.

There are many people in need of services. They need to have more employees present to serve the people already in need. They already get the least of services.
They will try to answer your question to the best of their ability.

Yes, the wait is long, and they are serving a lot of people. I can only speak of one case worker, Megan Turdean. She is un-believably on top of everything and responsive to all of our stupid questions.We have not been approved yet, but either way, she is amazing.
If you have an appointment, you will still have to wait about 3 hours to be seen and then sent back to your seat for another hour. Most of the workers will tell you what you want to hear, then when you call back asking about the status of your case (if you are lucky enough to get through without being disconnected) you will be told something totally different. Its never what it seems. You will have to go there in person typically 5-6 times before getting anything accomplished. I think they hope you will get frustrated and overwhelmed and say forget it. Out of 10 different social workers (because they did away with case workers for some unknown reason) 2 were empathetic, the rest act like you are bothering them when you question why they said one thing the day before and something different today. The entire MCBOSS needs a new staff, with workers who want to do their job, or at least act like they care. Most people leave this office in tears after wasting day after day there and getting no help for their families.
If people who work there doesnt want to help peopke, then they need to find a different occupation. No SENSE of urgency at all. There is an older black lady who works in the window with glasses. Very rude very nasty attitude. Every person that goes in her wibdiw, leaves upset. She must be fired..
I know someone who went undercover here recently to write a report for the new mayor and some of the stories he told me were disturbing. The women are hit on by the male security guards, the staff give people the run around and laugh at the peoples suffering sending them in circles just to get a couple hundred bucks. People are denied needed assistance they rely on it merely survive for no reason. Everyone working here get and keep their jobs from corruption and they abuse everyone around them. My friend was denied food stamps because white people shouldnt need food stamps the African American staff member said. I think theyre going to shut this place down/fire the terrible human beings that work here. So disgusting our tax payer dollars are spent giving paychecks to these people who get their jobs through corruption and take it for granted and use their authority to abuse our societys most vulnerable.
