Bottom line: Great teas! It is unfortunate that their tasting room is closed. Sign of the the times. Try the creamy earl grey, nothing quite like it.
Kinda disappointed this time. I have not been there in a few years. They had a store then. This time there tea was all in a trailer. The inventory was really low. Not much of a selection. They only had one of the teas I came to buy. They were out of the other two.
Took a fabulous tour of the farm and had an amazing education about the process of producing tea from start to finish. It was a wonderful experience and had a chance to taste several different teas which were all excellent.
Light of Day has the best loose leaf tea I have ever tasted. And I absolutely adored their tea room and gardens. The staff is very knowledgeable, kind, and helpful. I could have stayed for hours smelling teas on the sniff bar. You may be off put by the prices, but please remember you are paying for quality here. And boy is this quality tea! Even on a foggy, drizzly day this place seemed magical.
Really fantastic and comforting tea. Angela is a nice woman and the tea is superior to anything boxed AND certified organic. She runs the place on solar energy... how cool is that? I spoke to her on the phone only once, sometime in June of 2020 becausewe were curious about the tasting room/ shop.Even though she was busy tending to the land, she offered to show us around, we didnβt take her up on it yet but have been buying the teaβs at Oryana bulk in TC ever since. The price point is worth it for the traditional medicinal benefits of organic local herbal teas.
The tea is great but customer service is less than expected. We have previously ordered on line with 10$ shipping a 4.5oz can. So we decided to order for pickup at their facility. We were charged $1.50 handling fee on top of the somewhat pricey cost of the tea. The tea was put in a bag and set on their porch for us to walk up and retrieve, so Im not sure what the handling charge was.
LARGE selection of OUTSTANDING teas. Local is always a great thing also, and wonderful staff!
Heartwarming cinnamon is my favorite! Great gift around the holidays, too.
The tea is delicious. Heads up- Order online vs over the phone to ensure the prices are not changed. I was disappointed to learn I was overcharged for a tea due to the two systems not connecting. I would not have bought the second tea if I would have known it was not the sale price over the phone.
Thereβs absolutely no other tea that even remotely compares. As soon as you open the tin you realize the quality of this tea. The fragrance and flavor are so robust. And not only that, the tea also has so many different medicinal values. Canβt go wrong with a purchase from Light of Day Organics.
Lovely grounds and friendly accommodation for a local pickup of our new favorite green tea!!
I love there creamy earl grey. Its the first tea I tried and it smells delicious! I used two teaspoons and steep for 3 minutes and add honey, its delicious β€οΈ I usally get 2-3 cups from one mental tea ball. Iβd like to try others as well.
Great place with tons of varieties. They had a nice table in the middle of the shop with small samples of most if not all the types of tea to smell and see what what you liked. The guy there was very nice and knowledgeable about the subject and helped us find a great selection. Highly recommended if you love tea or just looking to explore some interesting flavors to try.
The teas are all so unique & amazing. It was fun to smell all the different kinds & so hard to choose which ones to taste! I want to go back later in the growing season and walk through the gardens when things are greener & more flowers are in bloom.
This is the friendliest place Ive ever walked in to. The grounds are beautiful, and the tea is delicious. They have a huge selection of organic teas. Tea tasting is reasonable, and it was also very informative. I would definitely recommend Light of Day Organics to any tea lover.
The staff was very informative. It was a wonderful experience. SO many great teas its hard to choose between them all. Ill definitely be back.
Who knew that you could grow tea in the US, much less Northern Michigan! The staff are so knowledgeable, and the tea tasting was awesome. We left not only with a load of amazing tea, but a tremendous amount of tea knowledge as well. We will definitely be ordering all of our teas from them from now on!
Highly recommend the flight of tea, its a tea tasting. This was an amazing experience. Learned some things about tea I didnt know. Plus drank some great teas . Thank you to Fleiding for a fantastic afternoon. ππ
Tea tasted great. However the tea tasting was a bit pricy ($10/person for 5 different tea). I expected they would talk about history and the back ground of their tea garden. I also expected they made fresh tea in a tea set to serve us. It turned out the tea lady just served us pre-made tea and talked about what was already on the label. A little suggestion: please donβt put extra stuff like mango juice with Matcha Tea because it really killed the matcha flavor. Or tell costumer thatβs matcha tea mixed with mango juice instead of just matcha tea. :)
Beautiful place. Staff was super knowledgeable. The teas we tried are wonderful.
A must stop place while visiting the Traverse City area. The grounds are gorgeous, the staff is knowledgeable and friendly, and the teas are fantastic. A great selection.
So I do love their Creamy Earl Gray and their Chai. HOWEVER, the price of their tea is QUITE high. I am not sure if they tuck each tea leaf in each night, so have to pay the staff extra, but I do know they are close to pricing their product out of my comfort range.
Angela is so knowledgeable and the entire staff is helpful and friendly. A wonderful experience. So many choices too! We will be back!
Not bad, just need to learn how to brew tea correctly. Very nicely done grounds and use of solar power.
Best tea shop! Very knowledgeable! Very good selection! Love the atmosphere!
Super cool, chill place to visit. They grow most of their own tea here, with the only thing they dont grow on site coming from the tropics.
Really cool place with very knowledgeable staff! Senses immersed in such a wealth of sounds tastes and flavors!
The hummingbird tea smells (and tastes) amazing!!
The staff at Light of Day Organics were very friendly and knowledgeable of the many different types of teas available.
The place was amazing. The staff was super friendly and very knowledgeable.
Its very quaint and clean. I would have liked to sample some of the teas but wasnt going to pay $10.00 for 6 sample sips. I did travel from Boyne City to buy Hummingbird Necture tea, but it was very expensive for a small tin. Too pricy for my tastes.
The lemony ginger with some honey and bourbon. The best hot toddy ever.
Great service but little pricey.
We had a delightful experience with Teri. She was knowledgeable, personable, and best of all, fun! We had a flight of tea, and a tisane. Then we tried Matcha. The shop is calming, the farm is pretty. She also gave us homework. Yes! We are to spread the word that herbal tea is actually not tea. It is tisane. Teri, we are using the correct name, and telling everyone we know. And I continue to slurp with great abandon. Definitely worth the trip.
Lots of great teas & blends. The amount of locally grown tea is limted for obvious reasons. Staff can answer lots of questions about tea.
I learned about Light of Day Oragnics at The Omelette Shoppe in Grand Rapids, MI. My mom ordered the Creamy Earl Grey with our brunch on New Years Day. I had just started getting a terrible cold and it soothed my throat and tasted amazing! I also found a local shop that carries it as well. Now, I need to get a travel mug/press!
Friendly staff and excellent organic loose leaf teas!
Very enlightening visit, recommend taking a time to visit and taste!
I love the tea, and the staff! What a beautiful place!
So informational. Lovely property.
Great tea selection and wonderful atmosphere
Beautiful!
Bliss :-)
