Dishonest. They did work on our car without calling us and verifying if we wanted that extra work done. We were told one price then when we went to pay, the price had increased by hundreds of dollars. They changed our oil for example, never asked us to do so, and we had literally just gotten the oil changed a couple weeks before. Also, they overfilled our power steering fluid as another example. We went ahead and paid anyways and tried to get in contact with the owner to let him know his mechanics did unauthorized work. He never returned our call so we called again and all he had to say was here’s a discount for the next time you come in for repairs… we will not be coming back.

WE LOVE J and M. As a parent you want to know that your kids are safe in their vehicles . We trust Mauricio with our daughters mini cooper and know he will take great care of her. We had excellent service, excellent communication and an overall positive experience.

I found this place through Google and saw all but high praises from customers and a very high rating. Prior to bringing my daughters car in, I called Aamco for an appraisal and was not pleased in how I was quoted. I proceeded to call J&M and was greeted very nicely. I spoke to Sheila and asked for a quote to get the starter replaced on a 2014 Honda Accord coupe. She gave me the brand options and prices and because I needed the repair done the same day she also penciled me in at 2PM. I got there a few minutes before 2 and Mauricio started the repair within minutes. I was out of there within a reasonable time. I’m very happy with their work and professionalism and the cost for the repair is much less than Aamco. I will continue to bring my cars here for any repairs that I can’t do myself.

Last time going to this shop had my 2017 honda accord just to come fix a leak seal from the transmission. I get it back a weird noise coming from the transmission get diagnosed. Then now they saying theres a crack on the flex plate. Never had that issue going to different shops until I brought it here. I thought they would be legit from seeing the reviews. Mauricio is a cool nice guy but looks can be deceiving. We never know what they do once we leave the shop. I want to assume hes being honest which I hope. Anyways I wouldnt recommend this place if its dealing with the transmission.

Mauricio is awesome. Awesome customer service. Took our 12 yr old Chrysler 300 in from an emergency tow service at 9pm and had a quote for us by 3pm the next day. Very reasonably priced.

Mauricio replaced my transmission in a timely manner and it runs great! He is a very honest mechanic who doesnt try to sell you anything you dont need. I was skeptical at first bc it was a big job, but now Im very comfortable with his shop for all of my maintenance and repairs!

My car was having a unique and hard to find issue, they diagnosed it and gave me a suggested fix. My family and I were about to move back to Utah and were afraid our car couldnt make it. Their fix got us home and the car is still running amazingly! Very fair pricing too. If I hadnt had to leave Tracy, they would be my go-to shop!

The woman at the front desk was NOT friendly! I spoke with a mechanic named Sergio who sounded like he knew what he was doing and who was super friendly and helpful last week. Came back this week to find out hes no longer there and dealt with same rude receptionist. I wont be going back!

I selected J&M Transmission as a potential mechanic to solve an issue with the electronic overdrive on my Ford E250 Van.I stopped by in person to take a look at their operation because I wanted to get a feel for their shop.My first impression: Neat, clean & well organized.J&M Transmission had several highly rated Yelp reviews raving about the quality of their work, and the honesty of the company.Upon entering the shop I found the staff to be friendly, helpful, engaging, and genuinely interested in solving the problem I was having with my truck. So I arranged to drop off the truck the next morning for them to take a look at it.My transmission problem was intermittent, it would snarl its ugly head occasionally, and then work perfectly for many days. Mauricio took a lot of time and effort to identify the source of the issue which was a frayed wire that was shorting out the electronic overdrive sending unit. This is the type of problem that can be quite elusive to locate – and one other shop tried and failed.Mauricio charged me less than the repair estimate, saving me money – but even more important I was impressed with the thoroughness of his methodology, and insistence on recreating the problem before initiating any repairs.Mauricio also told me when I picked up the truck that he noticed a worn right tie rod end and recommended that I make it a priority to replace it because it’s a safety issue.Based on my experience, I would highly recommend this shop for transmission work, and general auto mechanical repair. I’ve already set an appointment to get that tie rod end replaced.These people are kind, friendly, helpful, and honest.

Awesome mechanic, and not just transmissions. These are truly good people that you can trust. Ive always been leary of mechanics over-charging, but when Mauricio told me I needed to spend almost $1,000 on my car, I believed him. He explained everything and gave me options. Love this place!

BEST MECHANIC IN TRACY!!

I own a Garage in Clovis, Ca. When traveling I had a fuel pump go bad. This shop took care of me and got me back on the road the same day. The staff behind the counter is as friendly and knowledgeable as the mechanics in the shop. They took there time, diagnosed the problem, fixed it at a reasonable price and I was on my way. From on shop owner to another this shop is top notch. I wont go anywhere else in Tracy for my vehicle repairs.Thank You

Went there for a transmission flush, knowing there is a problem coming up with it. while I waited, they pulled the pan out and saw some metal debris and advised on the issue and gave me my options on price and reliability. They replaced my transmission with a reman with a warranty of 500,000 miles and 3 years (which ever comes first). The car is running like a charm. Need to take it in for post job check soon.Very Friendly and caring service by Mauricio and Sheila.

I had several people recommend J&M transmission to me. I searched for a good shop to take my Jetta to and found Maricios shop to be close to my residence. I called and asked to speak to a mechanic about the problem I was having. Low and behold, they put Maricio on the phone. I want to say that he was straight forward and eased a lot of my tension about repairing my car. Not only did I get great service, but the whole team was kind and curtious.
