I have had 2 Mercedes vehicles. I have been getting both of my vehicles repaired at this shop for the past 10 years. The professionalism has changed. The owner Bob yelled at me last week when I paid $800 for repairs. I came back to have another needed service done. And he yelled at me again. I was completely shocked. I have managed my own business for 23 years and has never spoken to anyone in that manner. Tammi the front receptionist is always great and professional. Bob the owner needs to learn how to talk to people or retire. I have referred aleast 6 people over the years. I will have to take my business/money else where.

They were able to determine in a short period of time why my convertible top and rear window was not working. Exceptionally knowledgeable! An absolute pleasure to deal with. And, a week later I received a text from the owner asking if everything was working fine and if I was happy and satisfied!!! I have never experienced such sincerity and concern for the customer. I would highly recommend them for any repairs. When I picked up the car, they printed out areas that needed to eventually be fixed, but prioritized them and stated when they needed to be done and an estimated cost. Also said nothing needed to be done immediately, just things to plan for since this is a vintage Mercedes E320 convertible. Truly impressive!

I had a great experience everyone here! I had a safety inspection to get my car registered and ended up being surprised with a window tinting issue. Rather than charging me what it would take for them to fix it, they suggested another company so I could save money addressing this issue. I appreciated their honesty and transparency, and Tammy was great to work with through the whole service!

Great service on my Jeep Cherokee. After taking it to several other mechanics, Star Auto had a specialist who diagnosed my problem and fixed it within a day. They saved me from replacing the engine. I cannot thank them enough! I’ll be back for any and all Jeep needs.

I visited the dealership early on New Years eve 2020 to inquire about replacing the blower fan to my SUV heating and ventilation system. Other dealer repair facilities and local car care garages had told me no and wanted to schedule late in the following week. Within two hours, while I waited, Tammy and her technicians had my heater functional again with OEM replacement parts. The staff was very friendly and fixed my problem immediately. Im super impressed with how they made me a priority and the congenial manner in which they handled me!! Definitely worthy of me considering them for my vehicle maintenance the next time I have a problem!!

Star Auto Service is my favorite car repair shop. My family has been having our cars serviced here for years. I talked to the lady name Tammy on Thursday I told her I need my vehicle to be inspected and transmission pan gasket when can someone look at it she said Monday so I was like by any chance do you have something for Friday yes this guy always seem to cancel so I will put you in his place I was like great I call the tow truck guy to tow it unable to drive was tow Thursday night she call Friday morning to let me know they had the car and the rest of my information Tammy stated we will call when we get to your vehicle 9,10,11,12,1 went by its 2pm okay let me call to see what is going on Tammy stated still didnt get to it I will call you when they get to it 3,4, okay its 5:15 they close at 5:30 no call when I called Tammy said will they didnt get to it busy day we will get to it on Monday close on weekends if you couldnt get to my car today you should have said something will you can come and get your vehicle its where the tow truck left it, Really! and Im not suppose to be upset I just gave the tow truck $200.00 thank you for your great service

Ive been here twice - once for a window fix and once for brake pads and rotors. Both times they completed the job in a timely manner and were incredibly polite. I work at a dealership and my coworkers all said their pricing is reasonable. I would definitely come back.

Horrible experience. Damaged my Grandmothers Mercedes. Smoked in her car, left ashes on the seat and the window. Chuck cursed at me when we confronted him about it and denied it. They also damaged the leather on the passenger seat and insisted they didnt. He said theres nothing you can do about it because Im not legally responsible for any damages to cars on my lot. Then what are they responsible for when its under their care? Its obvious that they messed up and wont admit to their mistakes. Never offer any help except excuses of being shorthanded. They didnt even return my call because he said he was too busy to deal with our issue. BEWARE! Terrible service.

Finding an auto shop with this level of integrity and customer service is rare. My car broke down at the end of the work day on the Friday before the Christmas holidays. It just conked out mid-turn at a 3-way intersection. Some good samaritans helped me roll it into a parking lot. After checking YELP, I called Star Auto. They were just closing but after a brief conversation, Bob said hed come over to see if he could get my car started. He arrived quickly and gave the roadside repair option a good try -- but no go.So we called a tow truck. Bye, bye car. Then Bob showed what a gentleman he is an offered to drive me and my groceries several miles so I could make an appointment. Now well after his work hours on a Friday night and a four day closure for Christmas.The shop reopened on Wed. (after the holiday) and both Bob and Tammy kept me posted on the diagnosis (which was a mystery) and the estimated cost. There was clearly something wrong with the electrical system. When a fuse was replaced it blew immediately. But Bob was determined to figure it out and was even willing to have a call with my long-time, trusted shop. After lots of research and noodling, it was decided that the main relay needed to be replaced and so the part was ordered.Bob drove to PA to get the part over the weekend so the job could be finished on the following Monday as promised. He added an hour to the bill and explained it. Im guessing he spent a lot more than an extra hour on my car between the diagnosis, getting the part and making the fix. And, the car is now running as it should - thank you Bob, Tammy and the Star Auto team!Finding this kind of customer service is rare indeed. If youre in the Towson area, Star Auto works mainly on foreign cars. You cant go wrong here...give them a try!Remove review

Everyone was very personable and knowledgeable, explaining the repairs needed as well as answering questions. Clearly mechanics, not part switchers. Im extremely pleased with the work they did, and will be dealing with Star Automotive exclusively from this point forward. Highly recommend!

Just had tires replaced through Tire Rack, installed at Star Auto. This is a first-rate outfit. Family owned and operated the old-fashioned way, with courtesy and professionalism. Ive got two older cars--imports--and Ill be taking them back regularly for service. I recommend them highly.

I want to like these guys so much. The staff is super friendly and helpful, the customer service is great. Their Maryland State Inspector is very nice and doesnt require unnecessary repairs. BUT...I cant say I trust their mechanical knowledge. Every time Id get my truck back, something else was wrong. Or I was missing a mundane part. It made me so sad because they are great people and the prices cant be beat, but in the end I need a shop that gets the job done right the first time.

Star auto is awesome! My wife and I moved to Baltimore three years ago and this place was recommended to us by a friend. Absolutely no regrets. Several months ago my wifes Mazda 3 was vibrating during acceleration. They traced the problem to bad engine mounts and replaced them - the work was done quickly and inexpensively. The car drove beautifully. A couple of days ago we realized that the vibration was back, and took it back in. They said the issue was a loose bolt on one of the mounts, and fixed it for free, since they had worked on it before. I literally paid nothing for this work. Its hard to find honest mechanics these days, but these guys are the real deal.

Dec 2018: Had my 18 A8L in for 105,000 service interval. Tammy and Bob had me in and out in a jiffy! Will be back in for an alignment and parking sensor replacement soon. Love this place!March 2014: Recently traded my 04 A8L for a 10 model and my first stop with the new A8L was at Star Auto. Obviously needed an inspection for MVA, but more importantly I wanted Bob and Rocky to give it the once over to make sure there were no surprises. These guys are awesome and I value their opinions on Audis above the local dealerships. Thanks again Star Auto Team!!Nov 2013: Thanks Bob, Rocky and Tammy, again you have exceeded by expectations. You diagnosed my problems with the A8 and had it fixed overnight! Who knew the A8 had two fuel pumps? You guys obviously and you removed the gas tank replaced the fuel pumps and fuel filter and had me back on the road the next day!!Rocky was able to get me new tires at a price slightly lower than a discount tire chain in Del. So with tax it was basically equal price and with the Road Force Balancing my A8 is giving a smoother ride than ever before. I highly recommend the Road Force Balancing!!June 2013: Another good service experiece at Star Auto! Battery replacement in my A8 caused some computer reboot issues but my team at Star Auto handled it and continued to follow up with me over the weekend to make sure everything was back to normal.

I dont normally write reviews but feel obliged to write one. Staff were super friendly. Helped sort out the issues with the car but went above and beyond. It was raining so they dropped me off home and picked me up when the car was ready. They advised me about some other issues but at no point made me feel like I needed to have the addition items fixed immediately. I was a first time customer and will definitely use them again. R

Last September I bought a used 2006 Mercedes Benz E-350 from a new car dealer (Dodge, Chrysler, & Jeep) that I had previously dealt with on numerous occasions. I thought that by them being a new car dealership, any used cars they took in and offered for resale should be in good condition. (Sub-par vehicles usually get sent to an Auto Auction).Well, was I ever blind sided by that Jarrettsville dealership! It had major issues that werent disclosed when I purchased it. Twenty years of honest highly technical service. I have been taking my Mercedes and BMWs to Star since they started.

I was there this morning for state inspection. It was pretty fast (one hour) for $85. They are friendly and I did not feel any thing in case of conflict of interest.
