American Legacy Karate is an amazing place to learn martial arts, discipline, teamwork, and self-respect. I have been taking my eldest son there for over 5 years and my youngest son, who has special needs, for over a year. Both have thrived under the guidance and leadership of the amazing teachers at American Legacy Karate. The instructors are patient, work well with kids, are strict enough and are most definitely skilled in martial arts. There is rigor in their teaching so that one knows that students are learning self-defense skills that will serve them well in life. Along with this rigor comes conditioning, discipline and an appreciation for their accomplishments which leads to greater self-respect. Coming from a martial arts background and being a past instructor myself, I have always had full confidence in American Legacy Karate in ensuring my children are learning martial arts the right way, developing both their physical and mental skills.

Highly recommended. Our son started here when he was 3.5 and loves it. Both the private lessons and group classes are great. He looks forward to his classes every week and really loves progressing through all the belts. All of the instructors here are great but he loves Sensei Orozco.

My daughter loves it and has tons of fun. I have been a student at this dojo since 2013. My experiences with all of the instructors have been great. They all take a sincere interest in teaching and in helping each student mature as a martial artist, whether the student is a young child, teen, or adult. This is not a belt factory turning out black belts in a year or two. But if you apply yourself consistently, your efforts will be recognized with your next stripe or belt. I also appreciate how they regularly highlight the self-defense aspects of this type of training. They discuss things like situational awareness, how not to escalate a situation, and the fact that running away from an attacker is generally the best option, if its available.

Great instructors, very in tune with the students and their abilities. Dojo’s are kept clean and well organized. The instructors are very flexible with scheduling and willing to help when ever they can. Highly recommend them!

My son has improved a lot with his private lessons here. The teachers make the classes fun for young kids.

My son loves his classes at American Legacy Karate Academy. They are very good with the kids and have been very thoughtful about zoom classes during covid. Sensei Vital is awesome! 100% recommend this place for karate instruction.

We love this place! My son has been training here with Sensei Tomas for almost 4 years. He’s one stripe away from his Jr Black Belt. We did pay for double private lessons, but only because he loves it so much. He has ADHD and the style and way that Sensei Tomas teaches his students is perfect for his needs. He’s stern, but fair! They also do a ton of team building things and a karate night which is great cause parents can have a little date night and rest assure your kid(s) are having a blast. Clearly Covid has stopped some of this, but I know they’re just as excited to bring it all back.

My Kids love American Legacy Karate. Sensei Vital is amazing and the organization has been super flexible with us during Covid, both suspending our account for a while and now doing private outdoor classes. So excited to have the kids back in Karate. The program is great, the Senseis are great, and we couldn’t be more appreciative of how sensitive they have been in Covid to our families needs.

American Legacy is mainly an American kenpo dojo. I been training there for the last 6 years. I like the good mix of strength and stamina training and conditioning as well as traditional karate training. It also incorporates ground fighting techniques as well as some grappling training. They also offer many special seminars such as nunchakus, bo staff and knife training. All of the instructors are very personable and make the training very enjoyable. Come by for a free lesson and you will be hooked.

My 10 year old son has been training here for over 3 years with Sensei Orozco and my 7 year old daughter has just started with Sensei Vital. Both instructors as well as the rest of their staff are awesome! The Senseis are very engaging and make karate fun!My kids attend both facilities (Torrance and Rolling Hills) and both places are always kept clean and tidy. Whether it be through zoom or at their facilities, I would highly recommend this place for anyone interested in self defense!
