Animal Hospitals are PACKED right now and clinics booked weeks in advance, especially if you have a non-emergency, but Urgent Care type situation, and after checking 16 different places for a standard or walk-in appointment (8+ hours if they are even taking non-emergency), I ended up here still expecting a wait if I could even get in. The staff is great, and doing a great work of triage and referrals (depending on the issue - be understanding if they try to send you to Crossroads, or another facility that can accept Urgent Care at that time = theres a tiny bit of luck involved here), and luckily after a quick check, they gave me the assurance I need that the issue was minor, but worth the check. Thank you for taking care of my girl Chance!

They list a 24/7 working hour. However, the main staff are not there Thursday through Sunday. They treat you and your pet like a number and the front desk staff are insensative and terrible at customer service. Furthermore, simply getting through their phone system takes forever.... keep your pet safe and better cared for and stay away from this place.

All staff was respectful and helpful. They took my dog in right away and gave me a rough quote in minutes. They were out of my budget but they did not hesitate to refer me to more affordable clinics which shows how understanding and caring they are by striving for what’s best for the patient and not what’s gonna get them the most money. While there may be cheaper clinics, I would still recommend this one if you’re looking for the best quality treatment for yourself and your pet.

I took my dog here earlier this week because my dog was showing early symptoms of parvovirus. They wasn’t any available appointments in other locations & I was so glad they were able to let me arrive as an emergency and see her within an hour. Unfortunately my dog was tested positive & wanted to get her treatment that same day. It was far too expensive, talking about $5K to keep her hospitalized and I wasn’t able to get approved to make monthly payments. I was told in the beginning I’d pay $160 to get her tested plus her exam. After nearly 2-3 hours of letting them know I won’t be able to pay for the treatment, I was charged $205 and told me there was a miscommunication with prices. After paying, it took them another hour to bring my dog to my car. Overall, it’s too expensive for their services, miscommunications, & took me overall 4-6 hours with them just be told to look for different location for her treatment. Discharge papers said nothing about her actual exam or what they found of my dog. It was just general info about parvovirus. Their staffs are nice but I wasn’t satisfied from my experience.

My dog stayed here for 9 days racking up over 20k dollars. They finally discharged her as we told her we could try taking care of her at home but they gave us no plan going forward other than to finish out her medicine. Once we were discharged they gave 0 effs about us and wouldn’t return our phone calls or emails about her not getting better. We ended up taking her to our vet who said her hospital paperwork said that she has chronic hepatitis which they literally never mentioned to us or gave her any treatment for. They just sent us on our way and never looked back.

Honestly wish our pet was able to be seen elsewhere. Everything is extremely expensive, and the person in charge of contacting us was talking to us in a snarky tone most of the time. I get that we were getting confused and it can get annoying, but our pet was extremely sick and we were anxious. Bedside manner is important when working in the medical field, just saying. It was going to be over $6,000 just to diagnose our pet. We just decided to put her down instead of putting her through more suffering. The other staff members were very kind, but ultimately I really dont recommend this place to anyone.UPDATE: My grandmother just tried to get our crate back and they gave her such a difficult time. They kept saying our cat was never seen there since we werent in the system. Not sure if they spelled our last name wrong. They even asked if she was confused and went to a different place instead. Yeah I think we remember where our cat WAS EUTHANIZED. Needless to say, she got the crate back after some bickering. They were willing to take over $6,000 from us but didnt have us in the system? hah

Unprofessional and zero sense of urgency (name of company includes the word emergency):1) disconnected while 5 minutes into new parient intake and had to call back and wait 15 minutes to start all over again.2) failed to properly or timely fill Rx.3) said Rx was filled but when I arrived they said oh no, we never fill them until you show up. Then youll have to go back outside, call us,, and wait while we fill it. 4) upon asking what quantities and dosages are in the Rx, they responded I dont understand, its a tube. They had no idea actual dosages, weights, measurements, etc. or administration guidance on the Rx I was being charged out for ($200).5) after the vet previously said wed be happy to show you how to administer subcutaneous fluids to your pet with a needle, the front desk staff called and asked if I needed them to demonstrate or if I could just watch a YouTube video on how to do it.If I could provide 0 stars, I would.

Our kitten was given hours to live on Friday evening. Dr Luce said he wouldn’t make it till morning for my daughter to see him and say goodbye. Dr Luce suggested we either agree to a procedure for 1700 to extend his life for 12 hours or euthanize him. We asked if she could just empty his bladder so we can take him home and be with him until it was time. She said no! She pretty much said we are cruel for doing that since he was going to be suffering. Dr. Luce also made a comment that since kitty is only 2 months old, it’s not worth trying to save him or spend thousands on him. Implying we just acquired him so this shouldn’t be a tough decision to put him down. We couldn’t believe the words that were coming out of her mouth and her condescending tone. She was pressuring us to make a decision right away. Knew we were in vulnerable position and kept making us feel cruel for wanting to take him home with us. Finally she said we would have to sign an Against Medical Advice form first but she wanted us to know she was strongly against our decision. Dr Luce said Loki our kitty would not make it till morning. We asked her again to please empty his bladder and let us take him. They brought him out and we made a 3hr drive to Kern River for my daughter to hopefully see him alive. He never seemed to be or expressed any pain before or after leaving the hospital. He just wouldn’t walk or drink water or be awake for more than a few seconds. He slept all the way as my son held him in his arms. As we arrived, my daughter sat in the car with him and he woke up. He started to lick her and gently bite her and climbed all over her! For the whole 3 hour drive back he played, ate and slept. It’s been over 24 hours and Loki is back to normal!!! No signs he was ever sick or dying! If Dr Luce was successful in talking us into putting him to sleep, She would have killed our Loki for no reason. Dr Luce is a killer. I’ve read a lot of reviews with the same content. She rather put our pets to sleep then do what she’s supposed to do and treat our pets. She also misdiagnosed him. Said Loki had a urinary blockage yet confirmed she did not see any stones in his bladder. Loki finally starting urinating just fine later Saturday morning and since then. He’s active, playful and eating and drinking just fine.Access, you should take these reviews a little more seriously regarding Dr. Luce. I’m sure many pets have been put to sleep under her hands when it was probably very unnecessary. She works for you. This makes you just as accountable for her actions. You should be ashamed and she should be unemployed.BTW we have the conversation recorded if anyone is interested in hearing it.

They do the best they can. They once saved our pitbull, who needed several stitches. However, I will always regret bringing my puppy here, who ended up dying of parvovirus. Did they do everything they could? YES! I absolutely believe they did. But, looking back, I feel like they could have definitely told me “He is not going to make it. Please come in and say goodbye.” I wish that had happened. It wasn’t until he had to be revived with CPR that they called me to come in and euthanize him. Our goodbye was hardly a goodbye, he probably didn’t really know I was there and I couldn’t hold him because the CPR injured him (but that’s just what CPR does, ya know). I kept holding out hope and maybe they thought it was better if they let me keep hoping. I hope they read this and that, in the future, they will give in sooner and say “Hey, you should come in now just in case things go south.” It’s okay to admit that. Thanks for trying with my little angel though.

We had called before driving to the location. Once we got there we quickly called to let them know we arrived. The doctor came to us and then we answered all the following questions for care such as what was wrong with our kitten. Then a few minutes into letting her know what was wrong; she added that “they just had the surgery get here” as an excuse to deny a exam and blood work. They knew it was a emergency and still denied us service also it was too soon to say that they were preparing a surgery. All she was able to do for us was “refer” us to another hospital that did not help at all either. I would add no stars if I can. This was at 4:30AM and we live at Pasadena. I do not recommend coming here for service because it’s not professional and management seems very OFF.All the help we received was directed to another pet hospital and they were going to take 6 hours until a exam. This is the following dialogue we received from her as she denied us.Doctor:“It’s called advancement veterinary care center. So just back on the freeway, get off on hawthorn, make a right and it’s immediately right there”Me: We had called earlier. *She cuts me off*as she mentions again: YEAH, but I just had the surgery get here. So we are prepping for that. Okay, good luck guys. Sorry.

I am very pleased with the services I received. I took my 8yr old Rottie girl in for persistent vomiting and (((bloody))) diarrhea. Of course the worst possible thoughts were running through my mind, but the hospital staff was extremely communicative, called when they said they would call, kept me in the loop as to her status the whole time! For being as busy as they are and my girl being a bit closer to her expiration due to her breed (typical lifespan 8-10) they provided the best possible care they could for her! She did a complete 180 in a matter of 24hours!They provided me with high end estimates for everything and of course it was my choice whether to accept or deny services, bear in mind pet care is not cheap by any means, especially for emergency services, but they only charged me for the actual services provided and promptly refunded the difference between estimated and actual costs. Thank you ACCESS South Bay for saving my girl! Xena lives another day to fight the battle against evil :)

ACCESS was recommended by our vet. After meeting with Vet techs I was really disappointed with the rudeness and argumentative staff members. We were quoted $600 for the vet assessment but it turned out to be ~$800. ACCESS is one of three locations. Emergency exam is $105. X-ray is $325.00. Blood lab work is $225. The Vet herself was a sweet person. The Vet’s recommendation (lower price ~$200) w/o X-ray & Blood Lab work. We paid ~$700 for sick pet. In a pinch I would come again. I can get better customer service and likely better rates. Google gives them 3.7 stars which I knew before. If you can get past the vet techs immaturity and the high prices the facility does appear to be well equipped.

They have you sitting outside in a parking lot for hours rather than letting you go home, get rest, & come back. As if a parking lot is not dangerous late at night. My dog was having emergency health problems and we took her to Access. Due to Covid we could not go in with our dog which is understandable. We were sent home as the staff ran tests and took X-rays of our dog. A few hours later we get a call from the doctor saying our dog’s condition worsened and we need to get over there immediately if we wanted to see her before she passed. I immediately left work and met my family at Access. The doctor’s instructions was to come to the front door and ring the buzzer. We sat at the front door waiting and no one comes out. There were other people also waiting outside. Finally someone comes outside to deliver a dog to one of those waiting. I tell her the doctor called and said to come right away because our dog was dying. She says you need to wait your turn and we will pull up your info in the meantime. I said the doctor called for us to come NOW ! She said we know why you’re here. You just have to wait until we get your info and someone will come out and she shuts the door. This whole time my dogs dying. We wait 22 minutes in the parking lot and someone finally comes out. It turns out the info that was so important was the bill I needed to pay and if I wanted to buy back some of my dogs ashes and have her paw prints in cement !!! She had us sign an electronic clipboard and says only 2 people at a time. The 4 of you cannot go at the same time. I send my 2 kids in first. They immediately run back out to us and say the doctor said all of us need to be in there she is about to die. So now it’s ok for ALL of us to be in there? By the time we were allowed in it was too late. She was non responsive and barely living. The doctor already had the needle inserted into my dog and drugs ready to put my dog down so she wouldn’t continue to suffer. After the doctor was finished she says we can have some time with our dog but do not leave the room. You must push the doorbell on the wall and someone will escort you out of the building. There’s even a sign in the room saying that. When we are done saying goodbye to our dog we ring the bell and wait and wait and wait. We rang the bell multiple times and nobody comes just like when we were outside. Finally I use my phone and call the front desk and guess what ? We are not allowed to leave the room because we need to pay the bill and someone will be in shortly. Lol I don’t know if people run out on the bill or what, but this is not how you treat people when they have just lost a family member. This place is more concerned about their money. I’m not saying they won’t take care of your family member but their business protocols need work. We couldn’t leave our dog with them with also leaving a credit card in case she died and we don’t come back. We were forced to wait outside 20 plus minutes as our dog died because we needed to agree to pay and sign a document on their clipboard. We couldn’t leave the room until we were escorted to the front desk and pay. I don’t expect anything for free, especially emergency services. There has to be a classier and dignified way to fill your pockets when a family is grieving. This is a sad way of doing business.

ACCESS animal hospital is an unethical business practice tacking advantage of vulnerable people distraught over their sick pets. I was given incorrect medical advice that could have been life threatening if I did not seek a second opinion. Access is only interested in securing a swift profit resulting in an untimely discharge accompanied with a hearty bill and malpractice. I took my dog here twice for what they told me was “common nausea because he’s a nervous breed“ (Pomeranian) - turned out to be severe pancreatitis that they refused to test for originally. When I took him back after two days - within the time frame of return visitation - the fraudulent office tried to charge me again for another exam fee even though my discharge instructions advised me to return if my dog showed continuing issues within a four day constraint. When I confronted them about charging me again for an exam when they only rushed him to X-rays, I was told that they “didn’t have to disclose the information on why they were charging me.” Really? You don’t have to tell me why you’re charging my credit card even though there is conflicting information on the documents I signed previously? Interesting. I think that obviously fictitious let alone illegal interaction sums up working with access in a time of distress. Do not go. I recommend VCA WEST LA. They are amazing and even recommended multiple cost effective treatment plans & we all need that right now during covid.

TLDR: Doctor Melissa Roth and Katrina and all the nurses at ACCESS saved my dogs life, bringing her back from a 105 multiday fever, not eating or drinking, shaking when I tried to touch her, urinating on herself, and an incredible fast spreading skin infection combo. Cannot recommend them enough. Save their address and number in your phone and take your animal to them. The tools and staff they have to help heal your loved one are amazing. Because of COVID they have you park and wait in your car and a nurse will come and bring your animal inside the hospital, and call you with any updates, just FYI while COVID is still applicable.Full Story:My 8 year old german shepherd had a 105 fever and was lethargic, not eating or drinking, her normal vet is VCA Hermosa and it was after hours, and they recommended we go to ACCESS Animal Hospital. Id never taken my dog to an animal hospital before so I wasnt sure what to expect.I called ACCESS and they were so nice on the phone. Talking to them made me feel at ease. I took my dog in at midnight on Sunday and they checked her out, gave her fluids under the skin and took an xray of her lungs and abdomen to see if they could find anything. Thankfully her x-rays were clean. They gave her an anti-nausea shot to see if she would eat and drink after it. We originally thought she just ate some bad food and was having an elevated temperature as it work through her systemWe took her home and then checked her out again in the morning. She still had the fever, but she was at least drinking, unlike the night before. So thinking it was no longer fever due to food, and that it wasnt going away by itself,We decided to take her back to ACCESS and we met the wonderful Dr. Roth. She really took care of my dog, and was in constant contact with us about her recommendations and care opinions for my girl.My dogs fever case was a bit out of the normal, the basic tests for infection kept coming back as normal, yet she still had a 105 fever, and then she got a rapidly spreading skin infection. It was weird, so we opted for more tests. With the help of Dr. Roth we ended up doing a blood test, a urine test, a tick test, a blood clotting test and finally an ultrasound to check for an infection, a UTI, tick diseases, arthritic joint infection and any infections localized in her smaller organs. These tests were not all at once, we did one at a time to see if we could find anything, we only did the next test after the results came back negative. They were not pushy about tests at all. After every test, Dr. Roth would call us and explain the pros and cons of doing each and every test, and she gave us her opinion on whether or not she would do each test for her own sick pet if she was in our situation. She also called us after every result came in. We ended up talking to her a lot.Dr. Roth and her medical assistant Katrina were incredibly warm, comforting, knowledgeable and empathetic. Dr. Roth educated us on all of our opitions and all of the tests we could do at ACCESS to try and figure out what was wrong with our girl. Katrina was my email point of contact relaying what Dr. Roth said about my dog when they looked at pictures I sent her during her recovery. We eventually left with an antibiotic for the fever, an antibiotic for her skin infection, and an anti-tick medication. My puppy got immediately better and had been better ever since going to ACCESS. I had been in email communication with Katrina and Dr. Roth to monitor her recovery and they were so responsive and so excited that Jordan was getting better. It was so comforting knowing that they cared so much about my dog. They helped make a very scary week for my family so much better and I have my dog back now thanks to them.

I went in with an injured pup. He suffered injuries from an attack by another dog. My pup had puncture wounds to the head, throat, and most severely to his right eye. The doctor said he needed rest, pain meds, and antibiotics. The bill was nearly $400. I took the doctor at his word and took my pup home and kept a watchful eye on him.The next morning, he was groggy and lethargic. I assumed it was from the Tramadol the was prescribed to him. An hour went by and he laid still on his side, heart beating rapidly, and labored breathing. I rushed him into another vet. The doc there said we needed to put the pup on an IV, catheter, do blood work, and an x-ray. The pup was then taken to the back for medical care. Upon further observation the doctor saw that there was damage to the pups trachea, and the eye needed to be worked on because it was unresponsive and it may need to be removed. Why wasnt my pup better looked at and cared for at Access?! Strategy is making money no matter what, if you cant afford their prices and your dog is really sick, then they will offer for euthanasia . Tactics is focused to scare you so either you accept their prices, or to scare you that your dog is suffering and you should take a quick decision. There is also other options and different thing you can do before giving up on your pet. So dont let them scare you and keep fight for your pet life. But go somewhere else

BE CAREFUL. They essentially killed our beloved Briard, who was experiencing sudden onset paralysis that we were treating with PT and acupuncture. We took her to Access as an emergency patient just to have her bladder voided. We werent able to speak to the veterinarian until after she had done a complete workup (over an hour), and her bladder had still not been voided. While they were working her up, either the vet or the technicians that did attempt to void her bladder rolled her the wrong way, and she was in full gastric torsion by the time we got her home. She was screaming in agony; it was the worst possible death this beautiful and sunshiny spirit could have met. We were incredibly fortunate to have Dr. Amy and her husband from Hearts and Halos prioritize us, to help her out of her pain and distress. I will never forgive myself for trusting the people at Access. It will haunt me forever that I put our sweet girl in such danger and caused her so much pain.

I don’t prefer to write bad reviews but I needed to share my recent upsetting experience at Access. I took my cat here because he was vomiting blood and sick. They made me wait a total of 6 hours in the parking lot before releasing him. During the long wait, I had to continually call in to get an update and push them into action otherwise I would have waited for 20 hours. They finally got to testing my cat 4 hours in. They charged me $900 for an X-ray and bloodwork. This is normally less than $300 anywhere else but because pet parents are scared and vulnerable during these visits, they take advantage of it and Jack up the price. When they discharged me, I didn’t get a write up or summary and no copies of the bloodwork or test results. The vet (Dr Choi) said that there maybe something off with the platelets and would call me back regarding this. It’s now a week and several phone and email messages later - and no one called me back. I’ve written and called to get the summary and test results and heard nothing. The receptionists are oftentimes unfriendly and not compassionate. For a business that uses the word compassionate in its statement, there is none. They used to be a good hospital but has turned into a factory that milks and overcharges poor and scared pet-owners. Take your pets elsewhere.

We took our baby here after she was attacked and unfortunately she did not make it, the staff, the Dr. Were so sympathetic and were so kind. They gave us all the time we needed to say our good byes. We were devastated to say the less and it was very emotional for us I could not even think straight and nearly could not answer any of their question they were asking, they where very patient with me and understanding. They did not charge us outrageous amounts in our time of pain. They were reasonably priced and the Dr even sat down and talked to my daughter about all the options and how it would just be to much on our baby and she still would most not likely pull threw due to her injuries. He was very compassionate. The pick up our baby to take her to her final resting place there was some confusion but over they were great when it came to our baby..

Very professional, very friendly, and explained both her condition and recommended treatment very clearly and thoroughly. For a specialist vet appointment the cost was very reasonable and and meds were available for reasonable cost. Would definitely patronize again though of course I hope we never have to.

I dont know how doctor Tara Miller sleeps at night. Our dog was having an emergency suffering from a very high fever of 105 (106 can be fatal for dogs) and lots of pain so we brought her here. After they took her we waited for 4 hours in the car park before they finally talked to us quoting over $3k for an overnight stay and treatment. When we refused this outrageous cost and treatment they made us wait another hour before releasing our dog. After releasing her we found out they gave her NO medication for her fever or pain while she was there in critical state. Basically brought her back in the same state we had brought her in!!! When asking why they allowed our dog to suffer for so long they told us we declined all treatment! We declined only the ridiculous overnight stay but never would have declined any medication to reduce her pain and fever. Her high fever could have been fatal having been left untreated for so long. Words cant describe how we felt. Would definitely not recommending anyone bringing their pets here as they are only interested in ripping people off with overpriced and unnecessary treatment. Youll be desperate to help your pet and taken advantage of by this unethical institution. Thankfully we took her to another hospital nearby which treated her for a quarter of the price in under 2 hours. Steer clear of Access.

UPDATE: I received a call back from the Office Manager and had the opportunity to discuss the issue with her. Hopefully, the receptionist will get more training on how to deal with pet owners when there is an emergency by showing more compassion and being more helpful than what I experienced. I am glad I was able to voice my concern with her. Hopefully others wont have the same experience.NOTE: I HAVE CALLED 5 TIMES AND LEFT MESSAGES FOR THE OFFICE MANAGER (MANDI). STILL NO COURTESY OF RECEIVING A RETURN CALL. THIS SHOULD TELL EVERYONE JUST HOW THIS HOSPITAL CARES ABOUT THEIR CLIENTS!!!!!Id like to start by stating that I had 5 Siberian Huskies and the first time I had an experience at this facility was on December 27, 2017 when I had an emergency with my male Husky, Shadow. I had taken him to the Torrance Emergency Clinic on Torrance Blvd only to find that they had moved. By the time I found where they were, Shadow passed away in my car. So, I am very sensitive about when there is an emergency with my pets and making sure I know where I am going for help. Since then, I have had many visits at ACCESS Torrance with my other four Huskies and the services rendered by the doctors have been great! I have never had a problem until today, June 22, 2020 at around 1:30 a.m.My female Husky, Nikki, needed emergency help. She had just been to ACCESS Torrance two weeks earlier one day prior to having surgery to remove three tumors, which ended up being cancerous. One week later, she wasnt doing good and she had to have a drain removed from her stomach. Her primary Vet thought the worst and suggested I put her to sleep. I decided not to rush into such a drastic decision, which I am glad I did because she is actually doing much better. However, there was a problem with fluids building up and the doctor had to drain the fluids. This morning, when I took her to ACCESS, I thought that the fluids had built up again and she seemed to be in pain so I drove her over to ACCESS. When I arrived, I called and the receptionist ( an African American girl) asked me if I called ahead of arriving. When I told her No, she said that they couldnt help us and for me to find somewhere else to take Nikki. She said they had no doctor at the time and Id have to find someplace else or come back after 8:00 in the morning. She hung up. I called back and wanted to know why there were other patients sitting in cars waiting and I didnt get any answer. I said I had no idea what other hospitals were open and near the area. She told me to look it up on the internet. I told her I was in my car in front of the place and why couldnt she give me the information on where to take Nikki. I said I wasnt leaving until I spoke to someone. She said either I leave or she would call the police to have me removed. At that point I told her, F**k You! And hung up! I then called back several times and reached a girl with blond hair (I could see inside the window who was answering the phone) trying to find a referral place to go and she suggested Culver City. It would have been nice if she had given me an address or something. When I asked her where in Culver City, she told me Jefferson Blvd (still no actual address) and she told me to look it up on Maps!!! So here I found myself in the same situation as I did with Shadow, Nikki needing help and me not knowing where to go!!! All I could think about was that I wouldnt make it to another hospital and she would die on me too!I ended up finding a hospital I remember seeing and they took her in, and in three minutes were able to tell me that the fluids had not built up and she would be OK to wait until her 8:30 a.m.appointment with her doctor. Now I know where I will be going in the future!!!!The receptionist at ACCESS need more training on how to interact with pet owners in the event of an emergency! I can see by the other reviews that I am not the only one who has had issues with these girls and obviously they arent doing anything about it or there wouldnt be so many complaints!!!!

For $3500 you get 5 minutes with the actual doctor and then a series of support staff, all of whom you have to brief about your pet come on and tell you conflicting things. The suggest every test but cannot really explain why it’s necessary but make you feel that if you love the pet you should do it. They tell you the ultrasound will take between 45-60 minutes and when, 90 minutes later you inquire what the status is, they tell you that there is still a patient ahead of you for the ultrasound. When you complain, you get the “an emergency came in” but if you’ve been sitting in the waiting room watching NOBODY come in it rings hollow. All the “our friend” when referring to your pet means is that they don’t even k is his or her name.

Money they said....As I am not sure to find out that alone an appointment is with the special doctor 175 and every x ray one 450.Sad about the fact....I am still trying to find the right place for my little dog... to help him to get a normal evaluation or better leg.

The doctors are very kind and helpful and the staff in general are quite good. There was one vet tech, however, with whom I had a poor experience. I was coming back for a return visit after my dog had worsened overnight. She firstly asked questions that went more personal and deeper than your standard need to know questions for the care of the animal and she would judgementally respond to the answers, which not only put me on the defensive, but also slowed down the process of getting my dog checked in.Then, because they were busy, she suggested I not worry about having my dog seen because the vet wouldve seen all of my dogs symptoms the day prior, so it must not be a big deal. I pushed for her to be seen and said I had no problem waiting in my car no matter how long the wait wound up being. It turned out my dog had pneumonia.I dont doubt this vet tech is probably great with the animals, but it was an infuriating experience as a person to deal with all of that during what was already a stressful situation. A little more empathy and a lot less judgement would go a long way. Luckily, the other employees more than made up for her bad attitude and my dog is now doing much better.

I took my pup to this clinic and I have to say that they are the best. Its true that they are not open during regular business hours but its great that they are open during odd hours. I would bullet point this but heres the breakdown of why I gave this clinic an excellent rating:First, they are conveniently located for me. It was about a 15 minute drive from where I live.Second, when I called them and gave them the details of what was going on with my pup, she was having a seizure from the phone diagnosis, they told me to bring her in.Third, the staff there is super friendly and they were very nice to my pup and me. They checked her out and noticed I wasnt mistreating her in anyway and didnt make any presumptions of the sorts.Fourth, they gave me a choice to have blood work done there or wait till I took her to her primary vet. The price wasnt so bad considering they had the means to to do blood work on site.Fifth, we were in and out of there within 1 hour. Of course, we were the only ones there but I have to say, I was thankful for them because it was my pups first episode and in all the years Ive had pets, Ive never seen an animal have a seizure.Sixth, they gave me recommendations and also what I need to do to try and keep my pup safe and healthy. So, overall, my experience with this clinic was great and they didnt push anything on me. They made sure I was in control of the decision making process and in no degraded me in my care of my pup. I will go to them again if I have any more issues with my animals if it is during odd hours and I am not able to see my primary vet.

He was seen almost immediately and Dr Heather Luce was excellent. I am disabled so my friend had to take him to the hospital. Dr Luce was great to call and keep me updated. My little guy was feeling so bad before he went to the hospital. Dr. Luce ran tests and determined he may be having a bout of pancreatitis. She gave him IV fluids, a long acting antibiotic shot, medicine for nausea and pain medication. He also did an ultra sound exam of his stomach. She sent him home with medication for nausea, and special food and a diet for a few days. He came home clearly feeling better. He is kind of out of it from the medications, but at least he is not suffering. The bill was very reasonable considering this is Sunday and the treatment he received. I want to thank Dr Luce and the staff at Access. We will definitely go back to Access if he is not better. We are so lucky to have this facility in the South Bay Area. This is long due review. Its been about 1 year since I brought my dog here. My dog had consumed some rat poisoning. I got very scared and took my Maltepoo here, once I came in I told them how she had consumed some Tom the cat poisoning, they took her for some quick test in the back. They put me in the waiting room and a Hispanic girl came into the room and had me fill out some paper work, she immediately asked me how I would be paying and I told her I didnt have $600 up front. I asked if they offered billing or payments and she said they didnt. She said the whole amount had to be paid in full that day and if I couldnt they offered credit, if I was approved. It felt more like all they cared about was the money and not my dog. I was already worried and sad about my dog that this made me feel worse I didnt mind paying but I didnt have $600 to pay up front, Im only a college student with a minimum job and as much as I love my dog I couldnt borrow or afford that. I got upset and told her I would take my dog somewhere else. She wasnt being friendly to start with she then told me that my dog wouldnt make it if I took her home! Which made me even more mad because I didnt have much of a choice! I went home and monitored my dog, Followed some home remedies that I found on google. I knew my dog hadnt consumed so much of it because I caught her just in time but I was worried because she is very small. The good thing is that my dog survived she is one of the most strongest dogs and I just wanted to go back and tell that girl how strong she was and how I hope no one else is treated the way I was, because we care about our animals they are part of our family and for someone to bring you down like that it was horrible. I didnt wanna ask for he manager. I didnt want to even bother because I had hope that my dog would make it and she did.!

This place is just weird. First thing they want to do is drug your pet to help relieve its pain - and thats at the counter, NOT by a vet, and they havent even seen your pet enough to make a pain evaluation. ($$$$$). Then they take the pet to the back to do an evaluation and do not allow you to go back. Rather than allow you to be with the pet, they put it in a cage. Then they want you to OK whatever treatment they deem necessary - WITHOUT talking to you first! When I told the girl that they could not do any treatment until we authorize it, the girl was shocked that we wanted to see the vet. Just wow. Creepy.

They took him back right away, they examined him in less than half an hour and even the lab work and xrays were done in less than the 45 minutes they said it would take. Dr. Gary took his time to explain everything in great detail and went over different directions the dx we were given may lead. I refused to take him to a VCA clinic and my vet recommended Access as their go to ER vet and I understand why. The facility is extremely clean and you can tell they love what they do. As for cost, it was surprising as if I just went to my regular vet. I wasnt given an astronomical bill that reflected a typical ER visit. Obviously we were stressed and expressed our frustration to the Doctor at how our dog has tried multiple medications that seem to not be working and the Doctors response was we have the option to put him down if it is too much for us to handle. Wish I took this as a sign to leave as I found out later that it really sums up their mentality towards treating the patients there.Fast-forward, they suggest to keep him overnight due to the severity of the seizure to which we agree. He stays a total of 2 nights 3 days. We are allowed to visit at anytime, which we did several times. Every time we visited he was completely drugged with sleeping medication. He would be awake but in an extreme daze. We thought it was just the seizure medication at first but we realized they just tranquilize the animals during their entire stay (we expressed this concern to the doctor and it was confirmed). Finally, we received a call Sunday morning that our dog would be ready for pickup at 1:00pm that day. I arrived at 1:00pm for pick up and was checked in. After about 15 minutes everyone in the front waiting lobby was informed that their current doctor on staff was new and therefore it would take a bit longer for everyone to be helped. I waited for 2 hours and was finally approached by a technician. The technician said our dog still had an IV line in him and they were waiting for the doctor to get to him to take it out. When asked, she wasnt sure how long that would take. I left to grab something to eat down the street when my girlfriend received a call from the technician (whose phone was on file) received a call from the tech complaining that she came out with my dog and I was gone. Saying she told me she would be right out and that I was told it would just be a few minutes. Except, by this time we were already done eating so it was a good half an hour after I had left. We get back to Access in a few minutes and were given our dog. Going over the meds, we point out to the tech that she forgot our new medication for his seizures. We waited another 40 minutes for them to get the medication out to us. Finally we were able to go home after over 3 hours of miscommunication and frustration. This wasnt just one incident. It wasnt just one person. This was an ordeal that spanned multiple days over multiple workers. If this was able to happen to me, someone that is actually able to remind staff that I am still there and able to voice my concern, imagine how your pets, which are not able to remind staff or able to easily express pain and frustration, are treated. P.S. this is a private vet so we paid huge amount for all of this as well.To give credit, the woman at the front desk was extremely nice, polite and understanding. She saw my frustration and continually checked up on the techs and doctor for me. You know who you are and I greatly appreciate your empathy. Also, the neurologist, who unfortunately is only there part time, was very knowledgeable and helpful.

I needed to find out how much an ultrasound would be on our dog. And they refused to give me a price. they said they are not allowed, that i ahve to come in and have the consult first (which is $155). all other vets tell you the cost up front.. at least an estimate.
