We had a reservation for 2 days but arrived after the ticket office closed on the first evening (5pm). So we arrive at the counter at 8 am the next day to pick up our car. The person arrives late, and informs us that he cannot recover the reservation because we arrived late the day before and that it is therefore necessary to make a new reservation. After insisting on getting the car that was waiting for us, he calls his manager who authorizes him to collect the initial reservation. Only, Jim, asks us to come back in an hour. So we waited and got our car, but we had to return it the next day at 9 a.m., while our initial reservation was until 11 a.m. We must still insist to win the case. In short, they are dishonest who have no sense of commercial service. Prefer to rent elsewhere for more tranquility. In addition, always very long wait at the counter because the agent is alone and very slow.

Hertz has set-up this location to fail. I had a car reserved for 9:00 AM but they didnt have anything ready when I arrived. I had to wait in line. They only had one individual working the desk and several people had reservations and were waiting in line (so they knew they had a much higher demand than one person could handle). Hertz didnt have the car I asked for so we went with a smaller car. Hoping to arrive and leave within 20 minutes, I was there 40 minutes. For various reasons, I needed to bring back the car on the same day. I tried calling the local number several times. Each time, I was re-directed to a central phone answering service. None of the choices over the phone would get me to a human. I called at least 10 times. When I finally did drop off the car, the desk guy said he had to charge me the full 7 days of the reservation and I had to call Hertz and ask for them to reverse the charge. I called Hertz and, after 10 minutes on hold, I spoke with someone who said they didnt show the car as returned although I had already received the final receipt via email. So Ill need to dispute this charge and also call Hertz again. The additional star is only because I didnt have to wait longer and the guy at the desk was relatively nice.

The front desk is really nice. Unfortunately Hertz has a lot of hidden fees, was also forced to pay for upgraded vehicle that cost more to fuel because they didnt have the one I was able to book on their website available. Other rentals usually upgrade for free when that happens. However I was really needing a car while waiting to get mine fixed so didnt make a fuss. I did have to extend the rental, and that was really easy to do. I personally wouldnt recommend or rent from them again. Ended up costing a couple hundred dollars more than necessary.

Had a great experience getting a couple rentals a few weeks back. I was running late to pick up and when I called, Kevin, was very helpful and reassured me it was fine. The rest of the crew was great too! Ill be coming back for more rentals for sure. At the very least to say to hi to Kevin =)

Staff is nice, but they didn’t have a compact car when I booked one. They wanted me to take a small SUV with 28mpg instead of 38mpg with the compact and pay an extra $200 for it. Annoying, especially since I called 5 times to try to confirm and they didn’t pick up.

Hertz needs to seriously rethink this location. Only 1 person working the counter on a Monday morning: 45 minutes to service 3-5 customers and still in line with 2 parties ahead of me. Unhappy Hertz staff and a line 11 deep of unhappy customers. This is not going to be a good day for your solo staff member.

Dave at the Torrance Marriott is a consummate professional. He is always friendly and courteous, helpful in getting me out on time with the reserved car of my choice. Ive been going here over 5 years and can vouch for the Hertz crew. Norma took over for Brittany and shes great handling reservations also.I dont know why people whine about this location as its quite chill.The setting is in a nice lobby of Marriott, and not the usual cramped parking lot style where youre in the hot sun, dealing with a reservation. Even if you have to wait to get the car you want, you got the nice Del Amo mall right there!Renting cars is a big deal, please treat the crew at this Hertz Marriott Torrance with respect.

If youre into treasure hunts, this may be the car rental place for you. I had to search for about 10 minutes to figure out that it was actually inside a parking structure. After figuring that out, and sweating profusely at the thought of paying $17 to park in said structure if I should happen to be there longer than 15 minutes, I found what I assume to be the rental area. I say area, because I couldnt find any sort of office or and people, for that matter. I drove around for about 5 minutes before calling it quits and leaving. Long story short: was not impressed, will never attempt to use again.

For years I go to this location to rent car for my business trips. Everytime, they provide wonder services. Their cars are very clean. Ill recommend this location to my friends. Avoid call them, because they are under staffs, they are always busy.

I love the Torrance Marriott location. I am a Gold Member which I didn’t even know. The staff there brought it to my attention while I was waiting because my sciatica kicked in & I was having a hard time standing up. When I dragged myself to the counter the gentleman told me I can just walk up say my name - they already had everything ready right there. He handed me my key and paperwork and I was off. They are super nice, friendly, fast and professional. Patient when answering my crazy questions. The cars have always been clean- immaculate, on a full tank, odor free- very important for me. The express return is great - just park the rental, enter the info on the return paperwork, go drop off the key with return card and bam your done! I have been to many locations but this location is the best. Excellent service and great staff. I recommend it to all my friends, family and associates and they have nothing but good things to say about this location and glad I told them about it. It should be an example for other Hertz locations! Smooth process from start to finish.

I rent here everytime Im in Torrance (3-4 times a year). Staff was so rude that they all got fired and replaced in December 2016.New staff seems to be ok but for my last rental I got upgraded to a car that was new... So new that it still had stickers and writings on the windshield, seals on the doors (see my pictures) and the tank that was supposed to be full 8/8, was just a mere 5/8 (thank God it had already been the case during my previous rental, so I immediately checked and went back to the counter before closing time)

Terrible customer service. I rented a car that reeked of cigarettes and when I commented on the smell and how sick it made my two small kids and asthmatic sister, there was zero apology or eye contact or care at all. Said they clean the cars and can’t control people smoking in the cars. I asked if I could ever rely on getting a car from them without smoke and the dude couldn’t confirm, just said they usually save the worst cars for last.

Made a booking via priceline. showed up at the location- annoying that it is situated inside a hotel. first bad sign was the “we will be back soon” sign on the empty booth. when they finally showed up...no car. or at least, not the car i had booked. endless calls to various workers, who seemed to not care, basically. then i was told to stand outside and wait for the car for “15 minutes”. so far, 30 mins spent collecting a rental car. should take 10, max. was the car there after 15 minutes wait? hell, no. 25 minutes later, after repeated requests at the booth, it finally appeared. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE!! NEVER RENT A CAR FROM THIS LOCATION!! OR HERTZ?!

Worst experience ever. I had to dispute my bill with my card company to get my refund. I was overcharged by a lot. Thank god I kept my original quote. Making matters worst, instead of getting a vehicle I paid for, they gave me a vehicle from a much lower class. I paid for a Malibu but got a versa. Smh. Their manager refused to take action when I told her I was over charged for my original quote when in fact I was given a car in a lower class of vehicles. Thank god my cc company fought with them and got the money back. Now I know why Hertz filed bankruptcy.

Service was horrible. The lady in the office was cold and seemed to enjoy watching the customer get frustrated. She charged my credit card twice for $94 and took a $200 deposit as well without informing me first. It took forever to get a refund on the false charges. Never going back there.

Return the car at 08/26 but the receipts shows the car was returned at 08/27. Clearly the lady at the counter forgot to close the rental at the time. Therefore, hertz charged me one more day and late return fee.I gave two stars just because Dave helped me with the previous serval rentals, which were awesome experiences. He is very professional and friendly, never made any mistake and keeps a cool vibe.-Chenming Ma

My new favorite place for rentals. Love the location in a nice hotel inside. The service was quick and easy, staff was knowledge. I was in and out within 5 minutes. Got the car from the parking lot across the street and drove away. The return was also smooth and done within 5 minutes.

Not sure how this place has even 3 stars. It’s a desk inside the Marriott. I rented an suv about 7 months ago on the Hertz website. Booked with conf number. Showed up on time. Huge line with 1 person working. When it was time I was immediately told they had no cars at all . . . I argued and demanded something so they finally found a different suv. On return I left Chanel sunglasses in the car by accident. Realized this a couple hours after drop off. Car had been rented and the person who cleaned it after my rental said they found nothing.I tried this place a 2nd time, rented the car on hertz website, and this time after waiting in the insanely long line was again told they were out of cars. No luck getting one - they were turning away every single person.Why does hertz let people book NONEXISTENT cars??? I think they have a serious system flaw that results in a lot of unhappy people who have plans ruined. Plus the poor employees are subjected to a hostile work environment conveying bad news every day.Bottom line - don’t book with hertz here.

I was hesitant to rent from this location due to all the bad reviews but decided to give them a chance and I’m glad I did. I had a great experience, Brittany provided excellent customer service. I rented a standard suv for 4th of July week. It’s very nice, clean and still smells like new. I went in at 9 am and wasn’t there for too long. I would definitely recommend this location. I will keep the reservation I have for Labor Day weekend due to the service I received today.

My opinion and experiences are most likely same as others. They put keys to small key box and trying to find keys for a long time. And eventually they told me there are no cars. Though I wanted to use for my business, I had to wait to get a car for two hours. I dont recommend to go this location.

This place is terrible and unreliable, I was waiting more than an hour on the line to rent a car. I had to go looked for the car on my own, I waste another 15 min. When I found The car was dirty and less than half a tank of gas. This location is unreliable they charged me an extra day and lies about the mileage and time because I returned the car at 12:40 pm there was nobody in the desk, and I followed the instructions to put the keys and all the car information in the safety box but they aren’t doing the correct thing. Be careful!!!!!

Mixed waiting times. We have used this depot 3 times now, the first two were great, walked straight up to the counter. But on the 3rd time we had to wait nearly an hour and a half at the counter, which was infuriating as we needed to get on the road. It being a smaller depot I suppose that can happen, one staff member can get suddenly swamped.

We did not pick up our car on the first day of reservation so they gave it away. So on second day of reservation I came back to the desk at 10 and again at 3. Still no car. They had to get a car from the airport for me. They upgraded me for my troubles. We went to the car after the desk had closed. Turns out the rear drivers side brake caliper is falling off. Unsafe car.

Had reserved a midsize...by the time we waited in line almost an hour, had sold the car and forced us to pay more for a larger car that was available. Avoid the hour long line and don’t get up charged just to get a car on a timeframe that doesn’t ruin your schedule for the day.

Do not go to this location!! I blame the corporate office for understaffing this place. I had a reservation, but waited for over 1.5 hours to get a car. I felt so bad for the one person who was working behind the desk. People waiting were getting mad at him, but it wasnt his fault.

Hertz bluffs people. If you are a member of the Hertz Gold Plus Reward and you select the option to use your reward points the site will increase the rent to almost 90-100$. You dont use the points the rate reduces approx $100

Had to find a rental on short notice which is obviously difficult based on the conditions. This location was out of cars but Jean was a big help locating a car at another location that worked out. Always easy to find criticism (come on Hertz, fix your reservation system to accurately track availability) but the employee in this case went out of his way to help and made it easy to post a positive review to thank him for his help.

Dishonest !!I ask a car on the spot for 1 day, it offers me a rate at $ 65 per day while the rate is $ 35 per day on their website. I leave to make a reservation and come back later with a reservation confirmed and paid on the internet via the site Hertz. Dave refuses to give me the car and claims he does not have a car available. But later, a friend gets to get a car.He keeps the cars to rent them more expensive! It is forbidden, scandalous and shameful of them. A complaint was lodged with Hertz for his actions. The renter has no right to refuse a rental without compensation ...
