I have to agree with all of the other reviews; if you are in need of Swedish car repair (Saab/Volvo), Anders is your best bet. He is very welcoming, professional, no-hassle, up-front, and ready to explain the work that needs to be done and maybe some other recommended services that will improve the driving/handling of your Saab/Volvo. This is my second visit, and again, Anders exceeded my expectations. He is also extremely fair with pricing. If he has something off while repairing multiple issues, no double dipping on his part. I highly recommend Anders for those of you who value your vehicle and want to create a real relationship with a serving professional. Thanks Again, Anders!!
Well folks, Anders is the real deal. I threw him a big challenge. A car he hadn’t work on in 20 ish years: a ‘78 Saab 99. He was so professional. Never risked anything or did it his own way. Step by step by the book. It makes me sad he wasn’t the first mechanic I brought it to who in the end couldn’t even figure it out. Anders had spare parts available. He did all the manual reading necessary. Gave me an extremely affordable price at the end. Such a down to earth lovable guy. Good to know there’s someone trustworthy within 2 hours to work on old Swedish cars. Thanks a bunch, Anders !!!
Anders is an expert in his field. Great volvo mechanic. Rare to find someone like him. Very honest and knowledgeable.
Anders is a magician! He recently changed a front axle on my Volvo. It was all done in 3 hrs including tires rotations and overall check of the car. Very professional and very reasonable pricing. Great service!
Excellent mechanic for Saabs and Volvos. Found him through Yelp years ago. He is a good man. Knows the cars inside and out.
Los Angeles and there surrounding areas are known to be auto-centric. You would think it would be easy to find a good mechanic. It. Is. Not! Finding a professional, honest, smart mechanic with fair prices, Anders at Swede Car!! I have an 18 year old Saab thats serviced better than what the old dealers could ever do! If you have a Saab and value good work look no further!
I moved to la in 2004 after being raised in a car family so I never had to find my own service prior to that. I had an old Saab convertible and fully intended to drive it till it died. I can’t even recall how I found Anders and Swedecar, but I have never had such a good experience with a mechanic and I stayed with him until my Saabs both retired (which was years ago, but driving by the other day reminded me of Swedecar and made me want to share a review). Anders was an expert mechanic and a wonderful human being. His work was flawless and he was the most honest person you can imagine - always direct about the problems my car was facing and always quoted fair prices. I lament the retirement of my Saabs because I wish I had a trusted mechanic for my new make of car. Truly if you have a Saab (or Volvo I assume though I never had one), Anders is a G-dsend. Look no further!
Ive been taking my Volvo to Anders for years now and I have nothing but good things to say about him. Its rare in this business to find an honest mechanic, especially during these challenging times.
Very knowledgeable and a Volvo expert!
Anders is the best! He took care of my Saab 9.3 and now he takes care of my Volvo S40. Ive been trusting him for over 10 years. Hes honest, his prices are fair and hes a great mechanic!
Yesterday was my first time for my Volvo S60 at Swedecar and Anders for 80k service.WOW!!!!He first took my car for a drive. He serviced it, drove it again after.Noticed my rear window was not calibrated (who knew) fixed it.Service was done in an hour as compared to sitting at a dealer for 2-3.Very impressed on the price, the honesty and thoroughness.I will be back for my 90k service.
Anders is a really great honest mechanic. We have taken my wifes Volvo C70 to his shop twice now for routine maintenance and he has done a great job. Extremely responsive, always answers the phone and is happy to talk to you. He gives you a report at the end of the service and takes great care in the way that he runs his business. He even sent out a coupon out around Xmas time that we saved and used at our last service. It is really tough to find an honest mechanic this day in age. He was actually recommended to us by one of my coworkers who used to run a SAAB shop. He said that Anders is the only guy that he would take his car to for service. Take your SAAB or Volvo here and you will not be disappointed. Also, we live in Pasadena and make the drive down just so he can work on the car.
If you are looking for an expert on Saabs, Anders is the mechanic for you. He takes the time to explain every detail of his diagnostics. Great work Anders
Based on the abundance of positive reviews online I brought my 99 Volvo V70 to Anders for service right after I bought it in 09.I was not disappointed and Ive been a loyal customer ever since,He is easy to communicate with, and has given me lots of advice over the phone and via email, even helping me take care of a bunch of issues by myself.Unfortunately Im a bit far (im in Hollywood), so on occasion Ive had to deal with other mechanics, and those experiences only further confirmed my belief that Anders is the best Volvo mechanic in town, and definitely worth it even when coming from far.
Anders knows his stuff! His is thorough and he is honest.
Im a little late posting my props here. This place is phenomenal. I feel secure now that I know I have a mechanic to keep my Saab alive. My little 9-3 Combi Aero stick (I want Anders to identify me so that he can know how appreciative I am!) is my pride and joy, and Im confident he has a complete knowledge of its running gear. He explains thoroughly what his process is and ALWAYS gives an option to either decline or hold off. He has good connections for relatively obscure things. Best, his prices are fair. Plus Anders is the kind of mechanic thatll squeeze in a simple fix, no charge---purely old school. No one else will touch my Saab from now on!
Took my newly bought used 2006 saab 9-3 to him, he helped me confirm my diagnosis for some issues it had (ecu + reprogramming). He didnt mind that i had been working on it. He takes the time to explain his repairs and why it needs the repair. Seems to genuinely enjoy volvos and saab cars
Extremely knowledgable and honest!
