We love the ease of using the key drop to drop off early in the morning. Paul called us with an estimate in the morning and by the late afternoon our car was ready to pick up. We have been going to Walts over 20 years, because of the reliable, personable and professional service we receive.
Ive been going to Walts for more than 20 years. I have always found them to be professional, knowledgeable, competent, reasonably priced, and conscientious. Speaking with the mechanics, its clear that they take their work seriously and aspire to do the best work possible. They have my loyalty because theyve always provided me with excellent customer service for my auto repair needs.
I had a flat tire and while trying to remove the tire I twisted off a lug bolt. I called Paul at Walts Auto to see if they could fit me in that day? Paul said sure. I also ask Paul if they could repair my tire also Paul said they currently werent doing that kind of repair but not to worry he would see that it got taken care of. While the stud was being replaced they checked serpentine belts and found cracks and recommended they be changed. I had been wanting to get the belts changed because those are the original belts and the car has 67,600 miles on it so it was time I had just forgot to get it done so I was glad the mechanic caught that before it became a big problem later. I got my car back the same day and by the way was not charged for repairing the flat.Thanks Sergio, Paul and the crew. God bless your business.Dale
Feel fortunate to have found Walts several years ago. Not only is their work top notch but, more important to me, I have been able to feel confident that I am always being treated fairly and honestly.
Great service and personable professional attitude. Only issue this time was a noise in my engine after they fixed my vehicle. Brought it back the next day, explained the noise and the issue was resolved a couple hours later free of charge since it was their error. Not many mechanics around like that these days. Best independent garage in Torrance.
Went in for check engine light diagnostic, very friendly and helpful, didnt even charge me for the diagnostic as the repair work would require a transmission specialist. Would happily use again.
Thanks to Walts for keeping my car in tip-top shape for the last 34 years! I have had several cars during that time and have never gone anywhere else for service--whether a simple oil change or a complicated repair. They are simply the best in town!

Walts does great service at a reasonable price. When My 2010 Toyota Tacomas warranty expired I was given a quote of $600 to fix a a/c fan and I found Walts and they fixed it for 1/3 the price. Now many years later I still take my truck there for regular service and as it ages more intense service. They are still reasonable and do great work in a timely manner. Plus know my name and remember my life which is rare these days.

Ive been having a/c problems for more than a year now. I initially took it to Gardena A/C and Radiator and they botched the job big time. A year later, I was still having problems, which was pulling power from my engine in a way that a/c shouldnt. (I gave Gardena AC three attempts to remedy the situation. They told me they used Denso OEM parts. Turns out that they lied and used subpar, cheapo parts and thats why it wasnt working right.)So at the recommendation of a trusted friend, I took my car to Walts. They replaced the a/c compressor with an actual Denso part and now my car seems to run like it used to. I no longer have to turn off the a/c to go up even the slightest hill. My front window doesnt fog up if I just want to use the vent and fan. No loud clicking or short cycling from the compressor. No more dimming of headlights when the a/c compressor turns on.Walts did what a great repair place should do. They fixed it so it works like it did when it was new. I will definitely be coming back.

When Walt owned this, it was a fantastic place. After Walt left for back east, I had several problems including a salesman who sold me something so absurd I couldnt believe it was being offered by Walts a place I used to respect. This deceptive sales pitch was the last time I went to this place. For the record, they sold me a additive for $100 that the salesman told me would give my car better power and gas mileage which it did - for one tank of gas. Who would pay for this for one tank of gas? Hey Walts send me $100 and Ill delete this HONEST review. So sad that Walt left.

Found Walts Auto Service when I went looking for a different auto repair shop for my 1990 Honda CRX SI, a long time ago. The independent Honda repair shop where I had been a customer for many years changed owners and it was time to move on.Ive been a customer at Walts Auto Service for........what must be going into a second decade by now. I first found them on a Top 10 list in Auto Clubs Westways Magazine of auto repair shops in Southern California. Then I began to notice that Walt’s made the Daily Breezes South Bays Best awards list year after year.Hondas and Toyotas (and their associated makes) are the automobiles that Walts primarily repairs, but they are certainly perfectly able to diagnose and repair other makes as well.I took my 1990 Honda CRX SI to Walts for many years until I gave it up in 2010, and now my 2010 Honda Accord is there for every oil change, service.....whatever it needs.At my very first Walts visit, I liked how I could see AND watch (if I chose) my car being attended to, by simply standing in the customer parking area. All nine bays are visible. At Walts, the standard is integrity, thorough inspections, industry-standard pricing (or better), Genuine Honda/Toyota parts, and same day service is the norm (with rare exceptions).This small, very personal staff has never disappointed. Kay, the owner and manager, is at the shop everyday and interacts with every customer.Paul, the ASE Certified Service Consultant and ASE Master Technician, will ALWAYS explain and show everything on the car that is an issue, without even having to ask him. (He knows I will look up parts online on my own otherwise.) I ask for these teaching moments and Paul always makes time to be sure that every customer is satisfied with their work when they drive away. He shows me the old, busted parts that came off my car, even if he has to scrape up the remains off the floor (and he has).Paul will always tell a customer the whole situation. He never insists that any particular repair must be done immediately; unless, of course, there is a clear and/or catastrophic failure with a part, system, etc.If a repair or part replacement does not HAVE to be done today, Paul might say, I would take care of (name a repair) within the next x number of miles..... or Honda recommends that (name a part) be replaced every x number of miles, but it is always YOUR choice, without any pressure.You will NOT find upselling at Walts Auto Service. Prior neglect of your own automobile is certainly not to be blamed on ANY repair shop. Any unexpected repairs that are brought to your attention at Walt’s are simply a testament to the thoroughness of their highly-experienced technicians inspections.As far as who works the magic in the service bays; Walts employs two technicians, Francisco and Randy. Francisco is a fully certified ASE Service Technician/Specialist and has been servicing cars at Walts for at least a couple of decades, I believe, and Randy has been there for many, many years as well. Talk about technicians that know EVERY one of their customers cars..... inside and out.If my car was ever stuck out in the desert or anywhere else with a major problem, I would have it towed to Walts Auto Service in Torrance without a second thought.
