My experiences with Michel Dental are consistently positive. Several dental hygienists have provided services over the years; both professionals have been friendly, gentle yet thorough, and personable. I have complete confidence in Dr. Michel, who has been my dentist for years. I highly recommend Michel Dental.

I have pulled my whole family from this Dentist. They do not tell you very much detail on their charges. Once you have paid and you believe all is good they charge you again. They stated that their initial price points are just estimates. They have no idea how much the insurance will actually charge. Then once you have paid 98 dollars for a filling you are charged a month later for 76 dollars. Then once I get a detailed billing from them i find out all these charges that I had no idea i was paying so much for so many mistakes on their part. They need to explain this..... Plus after looking at my charges when in office and then comparing to my EOB online. None of the charges match. I would never recommend this office..

I would not recommend dr. Balthazar. I’ve had multiple fillings through the years with dr. Michel and no problem. This time, my jaw ached so much that I had to take a handful of ibuprofen in order to sleep. First time ever. Also, the office didn’t inform me that it would be a different dentist performing the procedure. I think patients should have the option to reschedule if their dentist is ooo.

I looked a long time before choosing Michel Dental. I wanted more than just a regular dentist, one with updated technology and advanced knowledge. I got it all here. All staff are friendly, professional and smart! Kat

My husband went for a root canal we paid more than 800 dollars. Months later he had a terrible pain on the same tooth with a serious infection, we called the office they were able to get him seen, but they charged us to redo the whole root canal again. it turns out the crown they had placed was the wrong size, so it probably was the cause of the infection. When we asked why they just said it can happen to anyone who gets a root canal. I loved going to this dentist, until this happened no one wants to pay double, or go thru the pain over and over when it should have been done correct the first time.

Yesterdays hygienist was the best! Cleaned my teeth and talked me through a lot of things I should be noting of my own teeth. Cleaning with peroxide daily for plaque. Cleaning under my gum line. She was awesome. The doctor came in and was very thorough with my concerns as will.

Staff are professional and highly competent. Dr. Biggs is friendly and there is minimal waiting to be seen. I would highly recommend this office.

The hygienist and dentist both worked hard to make me feel comfortable and explain everything to me in detail. The office was clean and modern. They used some interesting technology that I had never seen before.I would have liked to have gotten my cleaning done on the same visit as the exam. Never had to schedule a separate appointment for that with any other dentist.

As a person who suffers with anxiety and depression, I have always felt uncomfortable and judged when going to the dentist. That is, until I switched to Michel Dental. I felt mislead by all of the positive reviews so I wanted to share my experience with Michel dental. I came in for my first cleaning and the entire experience made me feel rushed in and rushed out. I shared several concerns on the paperwork I was asked to fill out and none of them were really addressed. I had a tooth that was more sensitive than others and the hygienist blamed it on whitening toothpaste without asking any more details about it. I had asked if my sealant had worn off and if I needed new sealant to prevent cavities. They never bothered to address that question. Throughout the cleaning as well as when Dr. Michel came, they were constantly bumping my other teeth they weren’t working on with the handles of their tools. They took X-rays and stated that I had a cavity. They didn’t bother telling me which tooth it was for before rushing me out to schedule the appointment. I trusted them and scheduled the appointment. The earliest they could get me in was several weeks later so if you have an emergency don’t even bother trying to call to get in. I came in and asked the tech where the cavity was and she told me which tooth but couldn’t even point it out on the X-ray to me when she checked. I have had a handful of fillings before and this was by far the most unpleasant. He was incredibly rough and I could tell he was not taking his time to be precise. Once again, he kept bumping all of my other teeth with his tools and putting way more pressure than I had experienced before to grind out the cavity. To top it off, once the numbness had worn off the filling was incredibly rough. It also covered a large portion of my tooth even though they stated it was just a small area. I asked to schedule an appointment to get it smoothed and they got me in within a few days, however, their computers were down so I had to leave and come back another time. That was completely understandable and I was trying to be flexible even though I didn’t feel I should have had to come back in the first place. I have never had to follow up with previous dentists about fixing fillings before. I asked them to call me back when they had another opening and they tried to schedule me for two weeks out if I couldn’t leave work at a moments notice when they called. It was frustrating they packed their schedule so tight they couldn’t even get me in the buff out a filling that took less that 5 minutes. Once I finally got an appointment scheduled, the receptionists as well as Dr. Michel acted inconvenienced. He kept minimizing my concern about the filling being so sharp and blaming it on his tools not being able to feel it when he did the filling and that it was such a small area. Quite frankly I wasn’t buying it since I could hear how rough it was when he went over it with his tools. I would have been much happier if he would have at least offered a simple apology instead of making excuses. He ended up “fixing” it but my floss still gets caught on it and shreds it. If you’ve read this far, don’t get your hopes up about all of the other good reviews. If this is one of the “best” dentists Topeka has to offer based on Google reviews, I’ll be traveling back to my dentist in Wichita from here on out. It will be worth it to take a day off from work knowing my concerns will be addressed and any fillings will be done smoothly and precisely the first time around.

Yesterday, my hygienist was out and Anna from the Silver Lake office was covering. She did an excellent job. She made me feel comfortable with great conversation, which included what she was going to do each step of the way. Once she was done, Dr. Michel came in, we had some pleasant conversation, he checked out my teeth...made a slight adjustment to a crown and we were done. / I, my 3 sons and husband see Dr. Michel.

Michel Dental is fanatic! They were so kind, helpful and patient with me with my first root canal. Dr. Michel popped a few dentist jokes to lighten the mood and explained the instruments as he used them. If you are looking for a new dentist or even if youre not, I would wrongly encourage you to try Dr. Michel and his staff.

I had some sudden cold sensitivity to a tooth that I had never had an issue with. Called and left a message on Wednesday evening, and they called me the very next morning and got me in and addressed the issue later that same day. Extremely pleased with the friendly staff and most of all, Dr Biggs! Thank you so much!

First time visit. Emily was very polite and set things up for me without hassle. I liked being able to pre register online of course, and my exam with the dentist was very clear and informative. At no point did I feel I was rushed through even though it was a simple exam. I would recommend setting up a visit with them.

My sister live in Wichita.Ks. and this early morning she need to drove to topeka just to fix her crown. And they re-cement the tooth and when she is back. It fell off. And she made a call. And let them know the issue, they just said the fix its just temporary. And they never told my sister if its gonna be just temporary.

Worst experience with a dental office. You go in for your first appointment, and then youre bombarded with their automatic messaging services, calls, texts, emails, even after being asked multiple times for them to quit calling,texting, and emailing it did not stop.Then as they worked through planning my services with my insurance company they attempted to schedule and charge me full price out of pocket expenses when they had the opportunity to schedule it during a later month in the year where it would be covered.Finally even though I have been flexible with my appointments and moved them to get in when they have cancellations, after having to cancel the day before an appointment due to covid issues, I was charged a $100 fee.When I protested the fee,I was sent a letter saying they had extended me credit, in which they spelled my name wrong and that they would resort to more aggressive measures if I did not pay in the next five days.I called, protested again, and paid. But if you value customer service, and courtesy, this is not the place to go.

I found this clinic on google after called a few others first. I called for and appointment and my english is not very good, and sometimes I had sad experiences because of this. Ms Beth was very patient with me and nice. She explain me all the process for my first appointment.My experience that day was fantastic. Ms Patsy treat me so nice and very profesional, she help me to understand all the process and also she answered all my questions. And after and hour being with her, the doctor Ms Lindsay came and finish answering my other questions and also teach me some other issues that I was not familiar with. She show me she knows what she was doing. I feel safe.So at the time I have to check out, Ms Berh already have a complete paper with all the estimate of the procedure, all the information of the insurance and was ready to explain me again any question about it and ready fo schedule.I wish this efficient service that I received since my first called not change! Hahaha... I really like it. And I have to go back a few times for the next months.I highly recommend any person to visit them.Have a blessed day!

I have gone to Michel Dental for over 10 years. I recently was referred out to an oral surgeon for a tooth extraction and then implant. The tooth extraction was so traumatic that I now have a negative reaction just thinking about the experience. Going back today for the implant with a different dentist reminded me of why I love Michel Dental. Whenever I arrive, they greet me warmly. They usually know my name and let me know right away if they are running behind or if it will be quick. When I am called to go back, usually with Doug, he is warm and professional. He lets me know what the plan is for the day, he talks with me, lets me know if Dr. Michel is caught up in something that may take longer, he lets me know what he is doing when hes behind me so that Im not just sitting there awkwardly like a fixture in the room. When Ive had to see another person for something other than a cleaning, they do the same. If I have to be anesthetized, the assistant makes sure Im doing okay. They say reassuring things and when its a tough procedure they might touch my arm lightly to check in with me. Dr. Michel always checks in with me when he comes in. Anytime he is checking on my teeth he walks me through what he is doing. He makes sure I have a signal to let him know if something gets too intense or I need to take a break. The office staff is always inviting, welcoming and efficient. I dont know if I would have realized how wonderful Dr. Michels office is if I hadnt had such a negative experience at the other place. I highly recommend this dental practice.

Hello, I am Transgender. I also had two molars pulled within a few says of calling for emergency dental surgery to get them pulled. They were very friendly and fast! I am not a regular patient either. So dont stress they are amazing!

They are always so kind and attentive. I recently cracked a molar on a Sunday, and it was such a relief to be able to text their emergency number to ask for guidance. They worked me in quickly the next day, talked to my orthodontist to discuss next steps, and arranged an appointment for me the following day with a maxillofacial surgeon. Dr. Michel is very kind and proficient, and his assistants, hygienists, and business support staff are very pleasant and considerate too! I HIGHLY recommend the Michel Dental team.

I had a lot of work done. And I mean thousands of dollars worth. Every step of the day during my treatment plan the staff was keeping me updated on what they were doing before they did it. During procedures theyd often ask if I needed a break or if I was doing okay. Their attention to detail and the fact that they honestly care about their patients is awesome.

Great dental experience! Started at the very professional front desk staff, to the hygienist Taylor who performed painless x-rays and thorough cleaning. Dr. Michel examined and presented clear options for treatment. Before I left I scheduled an appointment for my husband!!

I’ll start by saying I hadn’t been to the dentist in over ten years, I had more than one bad experience as a kid and swore I’d never go back. However, I recently learned I had terrible deep cavities because a tooth rotted and fell out (gross). I was embarrassed but the entire staff at Michel Dental office made me feel so comfortable and safe. During my procedure I was told what I sensations I should feel so that I knew it was normal, I was checked on and I felt safe to know that if I needed a break that I could ask (usually I’m too afraid to inconvenience others because of my anxiety). The way the staff even talked to each other was professional and calming. Now I’m just beyond excited to continue going back and improving my smile! (:

My first and only experience so far with Michel Dental was AMAZING! From the start Tammi was very welcoming when I came in to make me feel welcome. Taylor (Dental Hygienist) did an outstanding job of making me feel comfortable and ensured I was not experiencing any discomfort. She was very thorough and informative with what she was doing as well as why she was doing it. Dr. Michael Michel came in at the end and was very thorough with what my treatment plan would be moving forward. At the end, Lori broke down the estimate for me regarding what the insurance would cover and what I was responsible for. This was a great experience and would recommend Michel Dental to anyone. All went well. Waited a little bit to be seen but no big deal. Staff were polite and hygienist was thorough. Doctor was also thorough and found a problem to be fixed later.

I went to Michel Dental for the first time the other day. I was greeted by three people all at once, and was helped immediately. I was scheduled for an exam the very next day and my hygienist was very friendly and thorough, showed me my x-rays and answered all my questions. The dentist came in to double check and she was kind and explained what she was looking for and referred me to an orthodontist for my wisdom teeth. I was very pleased.

Taylor was amazing and took care of more than what I expected for my first visit as well as explaining the treatment plan in detail.Dr was very pleasant also. Heather at the front desk made me feel welcome upon arrival and the lady who set follow up appointments for me was very helpful. So glad to have found a new dentist office that I feel comfortable with.

Its a difficult time, so all procedures vary somewhat from the normal expectations. Given that, I was fine with the changes and their willingness to make the experience as painless (no pun intended) as possible.

Im a very anxious person in general and going to a new practice definitely wasnt easy, but the staff here was absolutely amazing! They went over everything that they would be doing and were very thorough. The work I had done by this clinic was good, except they didnt deduct the money I was told I would get for 2 referrals. Both my sisters had extensive work done too. Apparently, I referred them after I paid for work the insurance doesnt cover. I was told I will NOT get the discount.

My hygienist was new to the office and very thorough. I am always impressed with the services provided and the friendliness from front to back of building. The young lady who cleaned my teeth had exceptionally steady gentle hands, was very knowledgeable of the makeup of all aspects of healthy teeth and gums and answered every question I had and put forth suggestions when applicable and gave other advice to aid me in healthy maintenance overall of my entire mouth. First off I really appreciate the emergency walk in option. As someone who works very long hours and has an unforgiving work schedule being able to be seen right away was very helpful. The staff was super friendly. My only concern is when Dr. Bigg explained my situation and treatment options she used all dental terminology which had me confused and only hearing the last resort option of pulling a front tooth. I left in tears because I didnt understand what happened to my tooth. Being 31 and never having a single cavity and being told my tooth suffered trama and was dying without so much as a cavity or break in the tooth, had me so confused. I called a family member who is in the dental field and she explained without the confusing words and I was finally at ease for the first time that day. That would be my only complaint and I understand she probably just does this so many times a day she doesnt even realize she is doing it but it sure had a bad impact on me until I really understood what was happening. Other than that the experience was as pleasant as it could be for the first time visiting the dentist for a problem rather than a routine cleaning. I sure appreciate your staff and knowledge! The gentleman that work in my teeth was nice however I what I went for vs what they did were not the same. They did not explain until after I asked what was going on. Will not be returning.

Staff seemed friendly and efficient, however beware of getting extensive work done with trusting their estimate. In the end I paid 50% more than my estimate.12/19/19I called their office and they made everything right with the misunderstanding.

I trust them to provide my dental care in an honest opinion about everything they present me, giving me the option of treating it now and holding off until a later date. Everyone there is above board in everyway. I had lost them once for the Dental Ins. I had didnt cover them anymore, so at open season I got proactive and found the best Ins. that would have him and I got him back. I recommend this Dental Office to anyone who wants the Best!

This is the best dentist Ive found in a long time. Wait-time has always been minimal. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. If youre having dental work done aside from a cleaning, they keep you informed of what theyre doing and what you may feel while theyre doing it, and they make sure youre comfortable at all times. Dr. Michel has great chairside manner and is very particular in his work. I cant say enough great things about this place and the staff. Would highly recommend.

My previous dentist (45 years) retired so I was looking for a new office. I had heard good things about this office and Dr Michel and Dr Biggs.Ive had a couple of procedures done by the staff as well as the dentists. Im very impressed by all of the staff (including the front office). Everyone makes you feel welcome.

The staff on this office they are incompetent, rude and lack of understanding including the Manager. They change the appointment rules without notified the clients in ahead by mail or any source of communication and charges ridiculous fees for cancelation or rescheduled I dont recommend this place at all .

I really like this dentist and his staff. Very punctual and they actually listen to you. However, there might have been a mishap when they took the mold for teeth whitening (not saying it was there fault!!). I had a filling also done, but when I got home, part of another tooth fell out on the opposite side. I am not sure if it was due to the mold, but the dentist is great and caring, so I am sure he can fix this one also. I highly recommend this office.
