We had a rental car rented for us from a insurance company. We had to pay a deposit We were told that when we took it back we would get it back. I was told that 40 would come out of it for insurance. When we got the finalized credit statement they took out 160.00. I had spoke to someone asking where our deposit was and she said that they released it and we should be getting the $160 back. We only got $40. So be careful.

Have had to rent a car once a month lately for out of town appointment theyre pretty hassle free.

I was promise a car and got a very different one they forced me to get the insurance they sale at $56 they charge per Mille like how they do that in 2021 that is like pay a phone by minute they came over a hour after my reservation to pick me up and I had to wait a very long time to get a ride back my reservation was for $65 end paying $128 after all the extra charge when at Enterprise i pay what they coat for my luck they was sold out this is the first and last time I rent from Hertz is the worse car rental in Topeka. Don’t use them they say they a franchise and that is why the charge more.And they run out of smile very rude not professional at all. Don’t waist you time on this place.

No stars they will not rent to me any longer. Their loss. I love AVIS so much more.

A running scam. Youll get hit with those hidden unmentioned fees. A rental vehicle paid through car insurance will somehow end up with you being directly billed with additional fees and have those fees charged immediately to your personal bank account without permission or discussion. Like I said, a scam.

I was threatened by this place to return the car or else, when extra days were pending with insurance over Easter.. Left me totally car-less. Unprofessional.

This was the easiest most painless procedure Ive ever had! From the moment I called Hertz for a rental car, my stress level was reduced drastically!! After calling and talking with Janice Hobart, things only got better and better!! The car was ready and waiting upon my arrival as was everything else, paperwork, and signatures, the whole process took 15- 20 mins. Great experience for same day service. This is the worst car rental place in topeka. The customer service is very UN informative. Our car needed emergency repair on the control arm so we needed a vehicle . They let me drive my family all the way there with our broke car just to tell us no that our bank account doesnt meet the credit check. WHO DOES THAT . Not not only could he have told me that over the phone. But who run credit checks on an actual bank account . Im furious over this. Definitely will NOT be going there again.

Every other rental place in town had none. But thats not all they did... I dont use credit... Dont take loans and dont have credit cards... This is the only place in Topeka that let me pay cash.... With an additional cash deposit... To pay for my rental. They saved the day and my trip with my daughter to the Blake Shelton concert in KC. Thank you.

No forthcoming about extra charges. Had car 4 days at $58/day and ended up paying $300. When I asked about the bill they were not very helpful and told me it was taxes and fees. When I questioned further they hung up on me. Not forth coming about mileage cap or extra driver fees. Also not very nice. Will never use them again nor will I recommend them.

I would not recommend this place to anyone. After having someone rear end me (no fault of mine) dealing with the injuries from the accident and being without my car for the next month for repairs I was really expecting a rental car company would be a little more compassionate to their customers. When we went in I thought we would be greeted with warm smiles and felt welcomed NOT everyone had RBF especially the lady that help me I even offered to wait for another representative she told me no she would help and was very rude about it. I was put in what they called an SUV (Jeep Renegade) which I did not like, I asked to be put in a full size car just like the one I’d wrecked, but they didn’t have one so I asked to be put on a list to be notified once they had one, since they claimed it would be that next day but we never heard from them, called back a couple times and kept being told we will call once we had one. At that point we were fed up and called Enterprise and they got us taken care of.

Lady gave no information and had a horrible attitude didnt ask where I was going and then overcharged me for using to many miles

I rented a car from here, and come to find out, the A/C and the battery in the remote didnt work. I called customer service to complain, and got brushed off. Not exactly the best strategy to keep customers.

This location also serves as a Penske truck rental. I was able to get a dock-height 26 foot truck with no prior notice, used for 110 miles for a total of $270. You will not see the trucks stored at this location, as there is no room for them here. Do not worry, they are just parked a couple blocks north. Truck was in excellent condition, and drove well. Would rent here again.

These guys are great. Good pricing, pick up from the hotel. Very nice cars and a great staff. We were in a bind and had forgotten his wallet in our truck, not only did they pick us up but they took us over to our truck so we could retrieve it. Had a little issue with our credit card and they waited until we got it sorted out with extreme patience. Would rent from them again if ever we are stuck again. Staff arent transparent about fees, even when asked. During initial rental, just after sending my car to the shop for hitting a deer, I asked, Is this car covered by my insurance? The response was, Yes. What wasnt mentioned to me was, while the daily rate for the vehicle fell under my per diem, the additional approx. $14/day for city, county and state taxes and fees would exceed my per diem. $123 in charges to my credit card the day after I turned in my vehicle were quite the surprise. To make matters worse, when I called to ask about the charges, the explanation in charges was made but no option to remove them based on the earlier conversation. We even gave you a larger vehicle for a smaller vehicle price. I never asked for that, only told they had one vehicle available the day I rented. I also rather enjoy driving smaller cars so this wasnt a gift to me. The rental department of my auto insurance called to try and work it out and was told that they did not misrepresent themselves during the conversation in question. And when I called to speak with M. Hobart, the manager of the location, he was as lovely as could be about it, said hed look into it and call me back, and I never heard from him. Im eating the $123 at this point because Im sick of the issue, but you bet Ill never rent from that location again and neither will my network if I have anything to say about it.

Hertz car rental was quick on getting us a vehicle late Saturday afternoon. The vehicle was clean and got us to Arizona and safely back.

Fast rental, great cars but failed to mention about mileage cap. No issues as I was under it but could of been bad if I had gone out of town. Def will rent again if in a pinch.

We rented a car yesterday. When we got it, it was dirty inside and out and had numerous scratches all over it. We return it a few hours later in ther same condition it was given to us in. We get the receipt after inspection showing a total of 144.00 but the charges on ther card are much more.

I did not have a good experience there when they were open, havent been back since.

I cant say thank you enough to the manager. We went in after a car accident ( we was side swiped) and forgot our CC they worked w us and after we got in a rental it didnt have a pleasant smell, so with out hesitation they put us in a 2019 Hyundai Accent that was super nice!Thank you

Ive never had trouble with a rental before this place. Worst of all they wont be there to help you. This is just a contractor so its hard to get Hertz to help you and neither contractor nor Hertz will communicate with each other. I will never rent from here again.

Was put on waiting list to receive car, that wasnt reserved after being called in a week prior. Nobody has ever called back. Do not waste your time and effort here. Just go to enterprise like I did.

We have not bought a car in Topeka, in the entire time we have lived in Topeka (16 years). Other dealers in town could get a clue and take marks class in how to treat customers and do business, people would not go out of town to purchase vehicles. Mark from start to finish was Way Over The Top and Beyond anything else we have encountered when buying a car. bought a 13 Honda Fit and love it! You will save your self a lot of time and frustration if you go see mark first when purchasing your next vehicle...................Thank you Mark Hobart for everything!

Would have gotten 5 stars but we were unable to get the vehicles we originally requested. Other than that they treated us great and had good competitive prices.

The staff was very rude when I went to pick up a rental after my car was totaled out. I explained that I had to be at work at 3 and needed to get a few things done before that and they told me they would put me down for 2pm. They said it was because they didnt have a sedan but they should have upgraded me if a sedan wasnt available. They decided to be rude instead.

READ THIS BEFORE RESERVING A CAR HERE!We reserved a car in the American Muscle group over 2 weeks ago to use on a trip for our anniversary. We were supposed to be given a mustang, camero, or challenger. We called 3 days before our pick up date to make sure one of the 3 were going to be there for us and were told they didnt have any of the cars in the American Muscle group, but had us down for a charger instead. We showed up Monday morning to pick the charger up and it wasnt on site. They had failed to bring it in like they were supposed to. It was then, while waiting for the car that they mentioned their 100 MILE PER DAY LIMIT! We would have NEVER reserved a car 2 weeks in advance from them to use on a TRIP if they had made mention ANY WHERE that we could only drive 100 miles before being hit with .35 cents a mile thereafter. What a complete waste of time and significant inconvenience they caused.

After being told on a Monday they would have a vehicle available for me on Wednesday after 4p.m. I show up and we have you down for tomorrow at 4 and we dont have any available today no lets see what we can do. Just a sorry this is your problem not mine attitude. Suggest if they make the reservation over the phone you check and re check their work or you too may be stuck unable to get where you need to go.

This branch in Topeka Kansas had given me the worst coustomer service I had ever received from any industry. Never have I felt more disrespected and unimportant in my life. I can to them with a problem and no one gave a damn about my issue. I was given a price when my reservation was put in and when I returned the vehicle, it had tripled. When I tried to get an explanation, the clerk completely ignored me and showed no remorse to my troubles. She half ass explained my bill then went back to her desk even though I was still obviously confused. Clearly the money is more important than the coustomer satisfaction and I will make sure to never go to a hertz ever again. You should be ashamed at the way coustomer a are treated here.

This hertz is horribly slow. I tried to ask a question, I was told to sit down, I waited 10 minutes and still no help. I decided to call them, and after seeing the rep ignore the first call, I phoned again and got my question answered. Again horrible staff, horrible location, the only way THIS hertz gets any business is bc they are the only location here.
