Great cut, super fresh. But shop never opens on time according to sign shop it to open at 11, I’ve waited and hour before outside and didn’t open. Messaged owner.... he ended up opening at 1. Love the work he does, but punctuality is huge when running a buisness. No one should have to guess when your shop will open. If you aren’t gonna be open at 11 then adjust your hours and post it so people know and can plan accordingly. This being a popular shop you just need to know what time your officially opening to accommodate for wait times.

I was a little hesitatant to get a cut because Ive always had a private barber who was my go to. As soon as I entered Nics it was a changing experience. The place is very welcoming and thats only the start, the work he did on my hair made it feel like HE was my private barber. If you aint going to Nics you aint woke.

Im not saying anything bad about any of the barbers in Topeka, but a truly good barber is like a marriage. Someone who you talk about life with, someone who knows you on a more intimate level than you know yourself, a friend who can lament about the good times and the bad. And, of course, someone who knows how to cut hair.Nic is my guy. I stumbled upon this place simply by Googling an open barber shop and he was there. I complained about needing to go to Lawrence to get my hair cut to find a good enough barber, and he simply said welcome home, and I hope you come back. Well, come back I will.
