OLD REPUBLIC TITLE IN TOOELE are very dishonest and unethical. I’m a seasoned investor and paid cash for a town home from a Senior citizen that wanted out.It was agreed on the real estate contract the seller would pay the large reinvestment fee at closing.The seller used Old Republic in Tooele. Old Republic dropped the ball and did not charge the Reinvestnent fee to the seller at closing by mistake.I was notified from the HOA attorneys that it was not paid by the sellers side, because the title company overlooked it in the sellers behalf.Everyone makes mistakes, it’s how a business responds and rectifies it that counts.I contacted Genna many times with voicemails and emails and they know it’s their fault but dragging their feet trying to force the Senior to go back and pay it now. I sympathize with the seller for two reasons: Using the poor services of the wrong title co and having to back pay the fee, that he thought was addressed and his closing.In the end I will pay the reinvestment fee to avoid a lien and then, I will pursue it back legally from the Seller and the Old Republic.Ultimately the innocent seller picked this title co maybe by recommendation from his agent and is now implicated in an expensive ordeal, at the fault of an unethical business unwilling to cure their mistake.Shop around for the title company rates and experience. Most of all, protect your elderly parents, when the are in their 80’s using greedy title companies that won’t own up to the mess up and now goes back to the seller and buyers to figure out.
