We were excited to go to The Tonawanda Castle as my father and uncle drilled here with the Army National Guard in the late 60s. We came on Veterans Day (fitting) for a soccer banquet and were so impressed with the beautiful facilities and outstanding service. The various rooms, fireplaces, and woodwork impressed all of the guests. Kelly, the manager was professional and very friendly. The food, which we thought was brought in, was made in-house and was delicious. I believe that everyone was hoping that wed be returning next year. The Tonawanda Castle is definitely worth another visit.

Tonawanda Castle catered our wedding in October of this year, and were so glad we went with them! Their food was absolutely delicious, everyone enjoyed it! Any of the staff we spoke with were very kind and at the tasting the chefs came to talk to us personally about what we wanted on the menu which was really nice aspect! They are also pretty flexible with their menu, and were able to accommodate any changes we had to the bar or food menu. They did tack on a decent chunk of money since our event was smaller than expected, but at the end of the day it was still less than what our original bill was going to be and 2020 has been a really tough year so I understand they need to stay afloat. We were just happy to help out a local Buffalo business. The staff is trying their best! Overall, we had a great experience with them!

Would give 0 stars if I could. Thieves took my money during the pandemic and would not give a refund. They were unable to have an event on the day of the reception anyway. I should take them to small claims court but it’s not worth the hassle. Stay away from this place.

Beautiful building, but unfortunately the management has some very shady and unethical business practices. They took a $1000 deposit from us, and although are contractually obligated to fulfill an event for over 150 people and cannot under the current NYS Covid regulations, are refusing to give the deposit back. They are saying we missed a payment while NYS was on shut down even though they told us at that point all events were “on hold”. I would highly recommend looking elsewhere for any events and whatever you do, don’t trust the owner or management team.

My son and daughter-in-law celebrated their wedding at the castle on December 28, 2018.Rich, the chef was passionate, accommodating, incredibly talented and extremely flexible.Tina, the wedding coordinator was at our beck and call and took all the pressure off due to her professionalism.The entire serving staff, was outstanding.The food was second to none. Every guest that commented on it, including an executive chef who works locally with 175 employees, said it was outstanding.The castle was impeccably clean. Just a magical day overall.Thank you everyone

Was there for a fundraiser for the boys and girls club of the north towns, what a great experience with the set up, food, drinks, music. And I cant say enough about the atmosphere and the historical significance of the building. Its just a really cool building.

The venue is very cool and I can see a ton of events that would be amazing here. It fun that they let you explore the different levels. Each room is staged and its cool to imagine how it was back in the day. Most of furniture is modern and it would be even cooler if it fit the times when the castle was used in history.The space is huge and very open so you can make it your own with your vision. I attended a wedding there. The service was good. Food was typical wedding fare that was very average. I would love to attend some other event here since the space has much potential. Might even need to plan a party for something with drinks being the main focus.

Christmas party here was roomy. Made it easy to talk to one and all. Stairs to the main floor upstairs. Staff helpful and friendly to operate a older model elevator wish I would have known ahead of time of arrival. Food served buffet style, well done.

Facilitator of wedding stated at beginning of the service that there was another wedding right after and the guests must exit immeadiately after the the service was over. Bride and groom couldnt greet their guests. Why wasnt this spaced appropriately? Money hungry owners who put profits before people. Beautiful building, heartless management and owners. Attended a recent wedding and was wowed by how professional the entire serving staff was. The atmosphere was clean. The attention to detail was impeccable. Would highly recommend this venue for a big or small event.

Very unprofessional and horrible service. Tonawanda Castle was number one on our list for venues. Last week, we called and set up an appointment to have a tour and speak to the marketing rep yesterday. After driving over an hour and a half to get there yesterday for our appointment, we were told she took someone else instead who did NOT have an appointment, so we would have to reschedule ours.It went from number one on my list to not on our list at all after how unprofessional they acted. We were warned about their horrible service and still gave them a chance.Also the chandeliers do not match - they have 13 different chandeliers.

We have a boundless amount of wonderful things to say about our experience with the Tonawanda Castle for our August 2nd wedding so we will try to paraphrase as best as possible!From the very beginning, Jamie (our coordinator) & Rich (head chef) made us feel completely at home and relaxed about our experience.We loved that we were able to customize the day to our style, and the selection with the custom menu was completely unique and something you do not find with most wedding venues…in other words, Rich basically asked “What do you want on your menu?” Rich and his team did an amazing job, and even helped work with us for delicious menu items to cater to our vegan/vegetarian guests. Jamie and her staff laid out the grand ballroom so stunningly, worked with us on the floor plan and even gave us the amazing idea to do a Captain’s table so we could have the social, party vibe we wanted.We ended up having more guests than intended (nearly 150) for the ceremony space, but Jamie was a pro in making everything work flawlessly. Our entire day progressed effortlessly and the 2-3 insignificant snags that popped up were taken care of before we even knew about them. She made EVERY request we had work out!Our guests were absolutely blown away about the entire day, the beautiful space, and most importantly the food! The venue is so beautiful, we loved that we had the main ballroom, but also access to smaller rooms for people to chat, the gorgeous balcony to overlook the party, and the 3rd floor bridal suite for the girls to get ready.Our special day was BETTER than perfect, and we are so thankful for the team at the Tonawanda Castle for helping us have our dream wedding!!! Highly recommend for YOUR special day!

I went there for my sons wrestling banquet on 4/9/19. The food was cold and the noodles were under cooked. What a huge disappointment. I hope to never have to go there again. Very over price for the quality of food.

It was a very nice and clean place seen people I have not seen there in a long time .there was a bar,the stairs in the front are crazy steep.just saying. I used to walk past it every day like 15 years ago.

This venue is amazing. The history of the castle is displayed throughout it. I would defiently recommend at least looking at it for a wedding venue.

We booked a spot in December paid 500 deposit and they are closed we haven’t even had a tasting for what we’re having for dinner we called they said we can pick another date and because covid we cannot pick a date the price we got and paid for has now changed and it’s 1500 more now they refuse to refund us and still aren’t open

Chef Rich and Lindsay as well as the rest of the Tonawanda Castle staffs has made wedding planning and all things associated easy for me and my family.Not only is Chef Rich catering my wedding and has diligently worked with me on creating a menu, he catered my bridal shower that was up at A Gust of Sun Winery in Ransomville. He and his kitchen staff went above and beyond to make sure that I didnt have to fuss over the food. Bobby, who did the entire delivery, was absolutely phenomenal and was timely with his set up and did such a wonderful job. As a bride planning her wedding and all of her events across the country, it is the best feeling to have a staff who is on top of the game and willing to help out despite time differences, travel schedules, and weather related problems. The professionalism, the quality of the service they provide, the welcoming atmosphere from all members of the staff, and the gorgeous venue have made everything a breeze and I couldnt be happier. I am so glad I picked the Tonawanda Castle as the venue for my special day.

I called to have my wedding at the tonawanda castle about 5 times and i could not get anyone to call me back. I was then talking about this to a friend and she told me that her friends wedding was held at the castle and that she had nothing but problems with the same thing. I am glad i found that out and now i can share this information with all

1st time here. We were here for a Boys and Girls club event. They had an open bar and nice selection of appetizers. There were raffle prizes and a huge Chinese Auction.

Used Rich and his team for our wedding on Friday October 13th. It was an offsite location and they did absolutely awesome! Food was phenomenal and everyone was talking about how great every dish was (no dry chicken). We did a Chipotle, Mexican theme as a buffet and we ate leftovers happily for 4 days before out honeymoon.Rich, Lindsay and their team are hands down the best and exceeded our expectations. Would recommend them to anyone for any event and any size. BOOK THEM TODAY AND YOU WILL SEE.

I attended an event here, the food was cold and undercooked. They ran out of plates and glasses, the bartenders put fruit in drinks with their bare hands and the staff was rude and nasty.

I recently got engaged and was in the process of planning for the wedding with my fiancé, and we both decided that the first item that we should check off our list is the venue. I have now attempted to call Tonawanda Castle to book a tour on four separate occasions, all varying times throughout the day (between 9am and 5pm) and have had no luck. Im about ready to check this venue off of our list because I would hate to see what the communication situation looks like for brides and grooms who book this venue for their big day. Im sure that this is a venue that my fiancé and I would both like, and I like the idea of a customizable menu, but if you can never get ahold of someone, whats the point? Seems like a classic case of mismanagement.

Such a cool place to visit!

Tonawanda Castle is a beautiful and different wedding venue. It was the first place we scoped out, but certainly not the last.It doesnt start off so great as you see the Castle is in the middle of Tonawanda itself, so the scenery kind of leaves the wrong first impression. But once you see the actual castle itself (actually an armory) you will see why its so nice. It is old but in a good way, it seems worn but classical and historic. Inside and out it is a beautiful building with ornate rooms and a special feel.The ceremony room is warm and intimate and the hall itself is grand yet inviting. The wife and I chose to go for a fall theme, with burgundy and burnt orange as our colors. We used the chair covers, fairy lighting on our sweetheart table, uplighting around the hall, and many little details to try and make the wedding unique.We got a great deal going with a Friday wedding of about 100 people. The staff was great, they were always very responsive and helpful whether they were dealing with us or overbearing parents. They explained everything very thoroughly and were there whenever we had to stop by or had questions. We dealt with Jamie, Lindsay and Rich, the chef. They were always pleasant and courteous to us.They allowed us to do our own thing, set up some extra lighting and customize the venue and food to our liking.The castle had good reviews for its food, and it did not disappoint. Our menu was such:A Choice Entrée of:Lemon Rosemary ½ Chicken (bone-in)Mesquite Marinated Sirloin Steak with Red Pepper Coulis DrizzlePolenta and Vegetable Tower with Sweet Pepper Coulis (Vegan choice)All entrees will be served with:Roasted White and Sweet PotatoesMedley of Asparagus and Green BeansRolls and butterWe got nothing but positive feedback raving about the food, that it was delicious and hot. They will pretty much do anything you want when it comes to food, and its great.The only problems we had were a bit of familial difficulty when it came to the tasting, but everything else was great and that was quickly corrected. Our wedding went off without a hitch thanks to Jamie and Lindsay, the only problems day of being the DJ, which isnt the castles fault. Also in case you are looking to have a Gelato vendor come in an old timey cart- the cart will not fit into the castle. We found that out day of, but it wasnt a big deal and it was still delicious.If you want a hands off approach Jamie and Lindsay make things look great. Lindsay set up our placecard table for us and it was perfect (leaves, extra favors, etc)Everyone has told us what a great wedding it was, from the romantic ceremony to the spacious and warm looking hall. If youre looking for a venue that is like no other (no multiple weddings at one location, no cookie cutter banquet hall appearance) then the Castle is a great choice. We loved it and will recommend it in the future.

Its really just an old Armory it take place. The event we went to was basically in a gym. Not as fancy as you would think. The Acoustics were extremely loud so when theres a DJ or any sort of Music it can be overwhelming.
