Best decision ever putting our son in TKD class here with Master Lance. Lance knows not only the skills to teach but the way he teaches to the kids to where they understand and feel confident. He runs a tight ship with the kids as well no goofing around which teaches them discipline as they grow up. Highly recommend for kids of all ages.

They work hard with children and adults to help them grow! They focus on form, discipline, and always working to beat your personal best. Because they are consistently ready to answer questions and guide parents and students, I would highly recommend Defenders to anyone looking to develop martial arts skills.

My 7 years old daughter joined Defenders for about a month now. She super loved this place and the instructors Master Lance, Mr. Austin and Mr. Chris. They are very experienced in teaching/coaching the children. In the beginning I registered two days a week but since my daughter so excited with this place and what she has learned, I increased to three days a week now. She concentrated and listened to the instructors then practiced at home at least an hour/day. She spent less time in ipad/tv and more time in practicing martial art now. I am really glad I found Defenders and thats why I decided to sign up with Defenders for myself! Just started yesterday (05/30/18) and loved it. First time so of course painful but worth it. I strongly recommend Defenders to all.

I called in to cancel, because things are tight and I need to be mindful of spending money on unnecessary things. Lance (owner) asked me why I was canceling and I told him just that, then he got really awkward on the phone and gave me some run around saying that because I didnt tell him a month before my next billing date that hed charge me again next month ...when I just told him I canceled to save money. Same guy who kept charging students full price when he closed the gym back in march/april/may but then didnt pay the coaches and when I called him about it he gave me another run around about things being tight. So this kind of behavior isnt unexpected. Nothing bad to say about the coaches or the classes Ive taken, just questionably customer/client loyalty from day 1.

Coach Chris is an amazing teacher. Is knowledge just shines and he can motivate kids like no one else. I wish that all the coaches were that deviated. He really is focused during the class and observes carefully if especially beginners learn and stay focus. They all try to make classes fun and exciting. Both my sons absolutely love them.

Top to bottom this place and the people truly cant be matched. My daughter just turned 5 when she started here and the experience has been 5 Stars throughout. They are amazing with the little ones! Its not anything like a drill sergeant atmosphere you find in many Martial Art environments. They encourage the kiddos with kindness while they learn the skills as well as respect & discipline. Its given her a confidence over the past year and a half spills over into everything she does. The kids are a friendly Team and its a fun family environment. I never imagined my little girl in Martial Arts but its comforting to know shes acquiring self defense skills early on. If your on the fence about involving the kids as I was, just go for an introduction / walk through. Youll probably allow the first free class as we all do and if your little one likes it you just found a health place for your child learn and develop!

Defenders has been one of the best things we have done for our son. His self esteem, discipline, drive to be successful and the enjoyment he has gained while being part of the Defenders Team is amazing. Thank you Master Lance, Coach Chris and Coach Austin for being such great role models for our son. This is definitely the place to have your kiddos join for martial arts and fun at the same time. Worth every penny.

My son does boxing lesson Tuesdays and Thursdays private lessons on Mondays. When we first brought him down he wasn’t real sure he would like it. But he really enjoys it now his coach Rudy really makes him under stand what he is doing and why he is doing it. They make you feel like your part of the family. This is not one of those clubs were you just going to fight they actually teach you. Check them out you will not be disappointed.

Awesome place. Have both of my kids there.. 13 and 19.. we moved from California over 3 years ago.. my kids wanted to go back to California at first but ever since they started going to Defenders martial arts academy they no longer want to go back to California.. that says a lot about this place, teaching and the instructors. Highly recommend this place.

I have a 16 yr old and 11 yr old (boys) that have been coming for a year this month! They both love this gym and all that it offers. The instructors are all very good with the kids. They not only coach, instruct and teach them, they will help mentor and have discussions when its necessary. They encourage all of the kids when they are struggling. This is an amazing gym to bring your kids too!

Great Martial Arts School and great team of coaches. My 6 year old son loves it

My 7 yr old went to a birthday party here and wanted to sign up that day. After talking to Master Lance and seeing the other people that worked there I noticed that they all treated each other as family. My son was excepted into all classes he’s taken. Everyone has been so kind and friendly.I personally like a routined week with work, kids, and all extracurricular activities. But, I have decided that I like that we are able to pick any two days out of the week Mon-Fri to get in his two classes a week.

Great teachers with awesome attitudes. I appreciate the discipline that is being instilled in him here. Well organized, tidy and clean facilities. My son loves it, and it has been so good for him.

Great gym and management! Definitely would recommend at least coming in to try it out and try a few classes! You’ll love it!

This is where my son goes. Hes 15 and they have become family. They are wonderful people and love working with the kids. And it shows. The place is amazing.

The whole staff is extremely polite and makes you feel so welcome. We love coming here!!

Both our son and daughter go there now for Boxing and Kick Boxing - they are there everyday of the week. They love it there - its like a second home for them after school.

Master Lance and all the insturctors are great with the kids and adults (me). The training facility in the back is top notch with weights, heavy bags, kick boxing and MMA rings. Get Defender fit.

Took our daughter for a trial tonight and we were very impressed. Looking forward to signing her up and seeing what all the facility has to offer.

I have been involved with sports and specifically taekwondo, judo and hapkido my entire life as my dad was an instructor and champion practitioner. My brother and I also both have attended several programs in Houston growing up. Having said that and with that knowledge I cannot say enough how excellent our familys experiences have been since joining this establishment. Master Lance and his family are exceptional at not only teaching but they have also created a warm and inviting environment. We look forward to each class like its a treat for the family not a drag!! Lance knows what he is doing and how to teach to all ages. Each day is filled with good instruction and not a moment wasted. Lance takes the kids learning seriously and never has an off day. Even though he is super kind and funny, the kids respect him so much they listen to every instruction with intensity. They are classy people with vision and amazing facilities! So far my 5 year old daughter is in the Taekwondo program and she has learned and grown so much as an athlete and child. I cannot wait to get my 3 year old son enrolled next year! By far the best martial arts facility around and cost of classes are very fair! Our family genuinely loves this place and these people!

We were struggling finding a right place for our son to start tae kwon do. Our son is very shy at first and if he doesn’t catch on right away to something he gets discouraged and wants to quite. Master Lance has truly been amazing and the key to our sons success. Easton just took to him immediately and he can’t wait to go each time. If he could go 7 days a week he would. Not only does he have fun but he has learned more discipline, self defense for his age and most importantly what it takes to keep trying until you get it.
