I’m not a big fan of Lucas county at all; I will be finding a new state all together but- Luckily through lucas county children services for domestic violence-a child support order was created. We lived together for eight years beginning my junior year in high school and he is about 10 years older than I am. With this being said child support seems to be withholding information such as how I get medical cards for the children with him being absent and has been for 15 years now. Withholding payments with a high back arrears and confusion all together. Cooking the books in economics terms and giving misinformation. The absent parent moved from current county and although a working man now is still listed with Toledo gang task force; and as I said still in high school when we met and started having children years later. The county seems everything was in his best interest and never did a thing for his children and played the middle the few times we could compare information. They collected the amounts from his check and dispersed a fraction to children and always labeled an over payment when again I wasn’t even receiving the court ordered amount that’s is paid through garnish not willingly- he doesn’t believe in that. That he paid 19,000 cold hard cash and up front either way I hadn’t graduated from high school just yet and yet the lord of lords and accomplices downtown are manipulating my case. And stealing funds whenever they can

Lucas County Child Support Agency is the worst agency in all of Ohio. They are rude, lazy, uneducated, under staffed (since its takes 15 mins each time you call to get through to anyone and then get hung up on to wait another 15 mins to get through again) and they do not do their job!First, good luck getting your case transferred when you move out of the County because they will deny transfer and not give you a reason why. I have been trying to get my case transferred and Lucas County Child Support Agency told me to write a letter to the Lucas County Court where my case started. So I did. I got a phone call from the Court saying I need to call Lucas County Child Support Agency back to have them transfer it. When I finally got through, the said, We just wont do it. No reason, nothing. I dont even think thats legal! All counties child support agencies in Ohio are linked together..Lucas County cant just not transfer my case because they dont want to. So, I am now speaking to an attorney in my County.Second, Its been 131 days since I have received any child support from a man that has been working for years. I have called and called Lucas County about this issue and they said they give people 90 days to pay or legal action will be taken....still waiting...and waiting...no legal action was taken when they said they would. Why are you giving someone that waits every 3 months to pay child support when they work!? On top of that, they said, We have more important cases to deal with. My child deserves the same time and effort as any child! In the County Im in, if someone even misses 1 child support payment, they are ready to take legal action immediately. They dont mess around here. It seems Lucas County Child Support Agency is just not stepping up to the plate in Ohio.My suggestion to anyone dealing with this agency that moves and they dont WANT to transfer your case, GET AN ATTORNEY! Other option is to close out your case and re-file in your residing County.My heart goes out to all the mothers and fathers of Lucas County awaiting payment and action in Lucas County. Our children deserve better than this. Lucas County needs to realize that if they want respect, it is earned and you have lost all of what little respect I had for you. Do your jobs....BETTER!Update 2021Still not doing their jobs any better. They aloud my sons father to go even longer on non payment, 7 months straight actually, and still no legal action. Well, moved out of state and now my state is stepping in. Lucas County Child Support..you are in for a treat! You will have no choice but to do your job as this states child support agency already told me that they will be contacting you very soon. I finally have the state backing me on this one!

I waited for over 25 minutes today, then I got disconnected so I called back, waited another 10 minutes all for them to tell me to look on the web site portal. I have only had a couple employees not be rude on the other end of the line all these year’s. I do patient care in a hospital and I couldn’t imagine talking to my patient’s the way some of those government workers have talked to me and other people I know that have had to call. I know I wouldn’t feel right treating people that way. What ever happened to the Golden Rule🤔

They only side with one half of the party. They act like the male doesn’t have things he needs to take care. Rent, gas, lights, water bill, car note, food, and other expensive. And I’m speaking for a man who gets his children 3 to 4 times a week.

Worst government agency in Toledo and probably the entire entire country. The state/fed should step in and make this place more efficient for the children of Lucas county who pay for their complete apathy and ability to do their job. In 15 years I have never went an entire year with child support, because they can not figure out how to process and disburse payments. No where else in Ohio can a parent be 10k behind in child support and they shrug their shoulders. This place needs to be declared a disaster and taken over!!!

The whole department needs to be shut down. The employees, and their supervisors are clueless. They lie about your money being disbursed. I receive alimony(spousal support) and child support, but now the support is terminated since the child is 18. They are still collecting child support (arrears)from the fathers place of employment, and have not disbursed them to me, or returned them to the father. One employee said there arent any arrears, and another said hes in arrears, the website shows funds on hold? So what is really going on? My spousal support keeps being withheld, each time I call to find out where the money is, they say oh I will go ahead and release it. I asked why it keeps being withheld,and was told that the system does not differentiate between child support and spousal support. Another employee said thats not true. This was a divorce case.

The federal post office was holding my mail which turned into a collusion with child support now Im paying $500 a month when I make $1, 000 a month theyre discriminating against me financially and the mother of my children makes $2, 000 a month now shes going to get 2500 and Im going to get $500 a month. These people are are completely unprofessional and I dont recommend you going down there without an attorney. Theyre sneaky their con men and theyre all about the arrearage percentage. Half these people are rude as hell and they dont even deserve a job the minute you walk in there they try to give you a ticket at the parking meter its all a scam. Horrible service with biased opinions and decisions. Ive been discriminated against they will discriminate against you at any given time. They collude with all other agencies state-federal, City, Etc. to try to bring the Working Man down to his knees and get him kicked out of the neighborhood but it aint going to happen. these people are a bunch of clowns, I would definitely think twice before you can walk into their building. Not only that Lucas County Children Services has harassed my kids three times at their school. asking them if theyre afraid of their dad over and over and over as they were told no three separate occasions they harass me too. They defimated my character, by coming into my childrens elementary school twice and asking them if they are afraid of their father twice in front of the counselor and all the administration and they were told no on three separate occasions super super unprofessional and have stalking and harassing type techniques. Be sure to get a consultation with an attorney before you mess with any of these clowns because they were unethical crooked and they do uncertain things. Very manipulative I would not let your guard down around these people take a witness record all conversations record dates.

Majority of the time, they are quick, short & to the point. No one is warm that Ive experienced in 15 years. Maybe its the nature of the job? Maybe its dealing with deadbeat parents?? I dont know but I would think Im a joy to work with considering Ive always been courteous, professional and pleasant, not to mention I make my payments and am NEVER rude to them. They just start off so numb (most of them) I think in any job that you are working with the public, you need to present yourself in a way that says Im here to help you. Its not like WE WANT TO DEAL WITH CHILD SUPPORT SERVICES, but at least you are getting paid to.

No one in this facility speaks or treat ppl with respect nor can you believe they have any training for positions held or that educational required to do the job has been met

They took part of my exs income tax for the child support he owes back in Nov. 2018. They will not release it per THEIR policy until May 28th 2019. What gives them the right to hold it that long? How is that helping children? Time to contact the attorney general to look into this agency

Update, Called and asked about why my son wasnt getting his full child support payment even tho his father is paying the payments in full. Let me tell you this lady was so rude, she explained due to an over payment I was getting $30 less okay I get that, then I simply asked when would my payments go back to normal since I had a reduction in Food Stamps due to this over payment, now I have to go back and show proof Im not getting the full amount, simply told her if I could avoid waiting at JFS I would rather just wait it out. She rudely says WELL SINCE THEY ARE FEEDING YOUR CHILDREN, YOU TAKING TIME OUT OF YOUR DAY TO REPORT THIS SHOULDNT EFFECT YOU MUCH, like me being on foodstamps makes me less of a person. I was so shocked by her response. I went to College and also have a college degree, who is she to judge me, I cant work since being in a traumatic car accident and now need back surgery. I hate dealing with this city.

There was not a wait on the phone, however the woman who I was speaking to was very rude and abrupt. When I mentioned this, her tone immediately changed and became pleasant and helpful.

Dont bother CALLING ! they put on hold and just hang up on you BEFORE saying anything to you! 5 CONSECUTIVE HOURS OF PICK UP HANG UP FOR 2DAYS.NEVER HAVE A CONVERSATION FROM THEM THAT THEYRE NOT JUST PLAIN RUDE. CUT YOU OFF ON A QUESTION you will have ! WTH .THEY ONLY WILL PICK UP 5 MINUTES BEFORE THEY CLOSE.! AND WE PAY MONEY OUT OF OR CHECKS FOR THIS CRAP!? No wonder why people dont really want to go the court for Child support. To get 25.00 a week and deal with this crap!

They never help. Im convinced my kids father has a relative working there because he NEVER pays child support because child support never makes him pay.

This establishment is not out to help families; therefore, counting heads for $$$.... Thank God for Lawyer Tarik he assisted me in retrieving my grandchildren from the system....

I would leave zero stars if I could. Most of the people working the phones have a bad attitude and are rude!I dread calling. They dont tell you anything. Everything takes months to process. Constantly being told to call back in 4-6 wks to then be told to call back in 4-6 wks.Told to use CS website, but when asking questions via portal, nothing gets answered. I asked if CS received my exs new job info, the response I received 24 hrs later was, check your card. Seriously? Everyone I talk to has the same issues.My ex says he has money taken out of his checks months before I receive any pymt. Where is this supposed money going bc I dont see it?!? I never get back CS from his income taxes or extra money. He owes THOUSANDS!!I wish I had a govt job where it is acceptable to be rude, disconnect clients, lie, AND receive a paycheck and benefits.CS receives pymt for treating me like a criminal!

My daughter is 24 years old I got a letter telling me that I owed less then 500 I was like its about time then I did my taxes and it went up to 1500 a I called when that took my taxes I was told that would take the 1500 and send me the rest guess what it was like 2 months I called back and these MF told me I owed 9000 dollars I could not believe that BS .

The phone system is horrible!!! I called early morning and was on hold for 6 minutes..when someone finally answered you could hear him talking to someone else in the background then the call hung up! Called again only to be on hold for over 15 minutes.This is not good customer service at all!! I hung up...I will try again later.
