I am extremely pleased with my experience here.I worked with John, on a pretty damaged MacBook Pro 16”. He did a great job of getting it checked in, identifying the issues, and communicating with me.The turn around for my repairs was well under a week, the shop did a good job of staying in contact with me.Overall an excellent experience, and in the future, if I need repairs; this will be my place.Highly recommend it.
I brought my wifes MacBook in to get some keys replaced after our toddler got ahold of it. They had all the parts on hand, and had the work done in < 30 minutes for a very reasonable price. And when we stopped by to pick it up later, they were kind enough to bring it out to our car since I had two small kiddos in car seats with me. Thanks Mac Cafe!
Quick, competent help. Friendly staff.Perfect visit.
I can’t recommend them highly enough! I’ve been there a few times and they’re always so professional and helpful and have gotten my devices back to me so much faster than Apple has in the past. Super communicative throughout my repair process and I’ll probably never go back to an Apple Store for repairs
I am extremely happy with the services. I spilled coffee over my Mac Book Air. and it stopped working. I took it initially to the Apple Store and upfront repair cost was 780$.I took my laptop to the Mac Cafe. They inspected my laptop and gave me an honest preliminary cost. My computer was fixed the next day and it costed me about 160$. I am so happy. Highly recommend them :)
I usually don’t write a review but what make me to do it the customer service at Mac cafeI never saw honest people a professional like them . Guys I do recommend them big time
Maccafe met and exceeded my expectations for my computer repair -- it was time sensitive and they had it done in less than half the time that I expected. Also, the technicians were very friendly and explained everything well. Their service was greatly appreciated!
Great, helpful staff, and a surprisingly good selection for such a small store. My only complaint is that its a little hard to find, mixed in alongside a bunch of other offices in a nondescript office complex. Its worth the search, though, if you dont want to have to deal with the odd environment of an Apple Store!
These guys are great!! My trackpad was damaged due ti an expanding battery and they fixed it in no time.
Outstanding knowledge and service for Mac computers. Their prices are extremely fair, and at times even offered solutions to computer problems without a fee, whereas other Mac service providers demand a high price just to look at your computer.Their honesty, integrity and kindness have made us loyal customers for over 6 years.
I cant even begin to say how happy I am to have found them!!! going on the genius site to book an appointment with the apple store 4 days later ughhh! they let me bring it in I got lucky only 1 computer ahead of me and my problem resolved, this would have been weeks with my computer out after hearing from (apple, best buy, geek squad) the customer service was fabulous and they are apple approved which was fabulous, thank you so much Todd and anyone else who worked on this!
Extremely satisfied, exceeded expectations, excellent customer service. Following a call for advice, I stopped with my Mac for tech service (in their new location). Juan greeted me and handled my issue with expertise in record time. Ive worked with MacCafe for occasional business and personal Mac support for over almost 15 years. They have always given me their expertise yet let me be in the drivers seat as far as how I want to handle options for service, based on my budget and needs. Thank you!
Friendly and helpful staff! (:
This is an authorized Apple repair place. Apple suggested this to repair MacBook air.
Ive had your service now, again, for over 75 days. If Im to believe what you said (what I red about your service) that I WOULD be protected. I bought not the most expensive but the second one. But I was led to believe, all right. Since then Ive gotten A DOZEN warnings that wasnt safe!!(well, my PC). So, please tell me: should I not believe you and forget the the excessive ads, or drop your service to go somewhere else?
Thank you Mac-Cafe. I came into the shop with a keyboard that had two broken keys/covers. Your staff could have easily sold me a new cordless keyboard. Instead, they took care of the problem and sent me on my way. Thank you for the excellent customer service!
Great service, reasonable prices. Excellent help and guidance after the sale too!
My iMac would not boot up. Took it in and two trips back and forth and $450 dollars later I now have a computer with the same problems as when it started and my conversations with their technicians left me feeling that they didnt know what they were doing. The only option I had if I wanted to take it back to them was another $400 to fix the logic board. I feel like I was ripped off by people who were just out for my money. An expensive life lesson and I wish them the best but I wouldnt take my computers to them.
I had an external hard drive, used mostly for backups, that my Mac no longer recognized. I wanted to make sure there werent any other files on there I wanted to salvage, so I took it to MacCafe for data recovery. John explained how the process worked, the starting price, what the other options were if they couldnt recover the data, and how long it expected to take. I told them there was no rush. Got a call the next day saying that they were able to get to the files without the data recovery process, and found only system backups. The HD was damaged and essentially unusable with my Mac, but since I didnt actually need to recover any of the data, they didnt charge me, and offered to send the HD to a recycling service free of charge. Gave me some peace of mind, and I appreciated the service!
They are great for getting older Macs fixed that apple wont touch
I dont think theyre the absolute most amazing store ever. But I give them credit for being a small business in this area and staying afloat. I also give them credit and THANKS because I am not all that new to Apple products and have needed compatible products, information and advice, and SOME FORM OF AN APPLE STORE to go to for the past 15 years.. And for a long time now, thats been the MacCafe. Theyre a good store in our community. Thanks!!!
Friendly, knowledgeable local family-owned business. Nice variety of products and quick turn-around on repairs.
Recently had hard drive crash on Macbook pro. Staff were very useful in setting up new Macbook with data stored on time machine. Conversion was flawless and on time. This service and purchase as satisfying as any Ive made at any Apple Store across the country.
They offered excellent advice for upgrading my MacBook pro. When I needed a missing screw for the machine back, they provided a replacement.
If i could rate 0 stars I would. I have a macbook pro and I was having problems with the RAM cards/slots. I knew exactly what was wrong before I went in the store, I had apple care and I figured this would be the easiest way to fix things because they are authorized and it would be free for the repair. I went in and told the guy what was going on and he basically said I was wrong and that there is no way that could be the problem. He then told me it would be like 65-75$ (forget exact amount) to back up all of my stuff. I said forget it dont back it up. About a week later my computer was fixed and I could come pick it up. I get in the store and see the sheet of what was fixed and it was verbatim what I told the gentleman a week earlier right before he basically said I was an idiot. All of my information was still on my computer after it got fixed so thankfully I didnt pay for them to back everything up. Get my computer home and I have a screw missing on the bottom of my laptop. Call them up and apparently i lost it before I brought it in. Stay away from these thieves and just do yourself a favor and go up to ann arbor apple store
Much better personal service than the Apple store in the mall!
Thank god there is an apple store in the mall. these people are uneducated self-taught (apple for dummies) hackers. dont walk but run from mac cafe.
Ive purchased my last four Apple products One star is too much. Ive purchased four Apple products from them, and had them service two others. Their customer service is lacking, to say the least. Their follow up is poor, and their warranties are laughable. I wanted to support local business, and maintain faith in them, but frankly: Mac Cafe is awful with follow-through and customer maintenance. When I called with complaints, I was met with an inexperienced, hostile young man who informed me that I would not see better service dealing with him versus Apple. I guess Ill now hedge my bets against the international store.
I dont understand the negative comments. Ive been shopping here for years, referred many customers, and all of us have received great service and fair pricing. I recently purchased a new cover for an old iPad 2 (I dug it out of the closet for a small project). Everyone I interacted with was very nice, understood I only needed this cover, and that was that. Service issues? Um, none. I drop systems off, and pick them up repaired, for right around the estimate.
If you have an unsolvable problem with getting itunes to recognize your device, you should stop at the Mac-Cafe on Talmadge Rd, Toledo and ask Josh for help. All staff is super polite and helpful!
The staff was really helpful and the service was great.
Worth the drive
In our first experience, we were not happy. We made an appointment for report through Apple. The technician was not able to find our serial number on their database and Alex is to go to Apple store.
STAY FAR AWAY FROM MAC CAFE - YOU WERE WARNED !I dropped my computer off to have them run a diagnostic to see what the problem was on my computer. They said it will be 5-7 business days total. They said they will run a diagnostic test than will call and let me know what is wrong. I already told them everything was running good until I updated Silver Light - basically telling them where to start looking. It has been 6 business days (not including and additional day due to holiday) and they still have NOT even touched the computer! Called them again on the 6th business day and was told it will be an additional 2-3 business days before they will call me !!!! This doesnt even include them fixing the problem !!! Spoke to Todd each time and he was very nasty with me. Kept blaming it on the school season. Its kind of funny how I call another computer repair place and they can get my MAC fixed in 1 business day .... and they only have 1 technician !!!!
Very knowledgeable and willing to help.
On Monday morning 3/3/14 I had issues with syncing an audio book to my iPod classic. I took the device to the Maccafe and they could not help me...and possibly rightfully so. Yes, I was upset and commented that it may be time for an Android device, however, it was totally unnecessary for the young clerk to be snarky and snide and condescendingly say have a nice day, upon my exit. I was able to resolve the issue with iTunes, and no, the cause of the issue was not the device being too old. The young lady with the tattoo on her neck should have said nothing. For my next Mac device it will be Best Buy or an internet store.
Went to the MacCafe after being advised by Apple themselves that they would take care of me. My iPad Minis smart cover had a defect, in which parts of the metal hinge were poking through the material, causing the side of the iPad to scratch. After showing a representative at the MacCafe, they immediately asked for a managers assistance. After quickly and briefly looking at the iPad and smart cover, the gentleman basically called me a liar and stated the scratches were evident from a drop, even though it was obvious that the areas where the metal was coming through matched up perfectly with the scratches. After getting frustrated that they would not assist me any further (even though I had Applecare Plus at the time), they advised to go to Ann Arbor (around an hour away) to the Briarwood Apple Store for further assistance. After spending the afternoon driving to the Apple Store in Briarwood, the Genius there immediately after looking at the smart cover and iPad determined that the cover had a defect and replaced both the cover and iPad on the spot. NOW THATS CUSTOMER SERVICE! Never again will I go to the MacCafe for assistance...I will always go to the Apple Store from now on, even if it is out of the way.
Dead 2008 Mac Desktop.Apple Store: Obsolete, No Parts Available, Sorry.MacCafe: We can help you.Just $190 and a few days later…I AM ON IT NOW!Seriously, I will always go to MacCafe first!
I helped my sister with her new iMac computer (mid 2011) -- one month old but with a clicking fan inside. (At The Ohio State University in Columbus I have seen this problem with iMacs and Apple has always replaced the offending fan.) We did the official stuff with Apple first, testing over the phone, assigned a case number, etc. At this point, Apple said to take the computer to an Apple Store - in Ann Arbor MI, or back to Columbus, OH - where I had purchased the computer. My sister did not want to drive all over, so she checked with Mac Cafe. She felt like they hassled her over the phone, immediately suggesting that there would be a $75 fee to backup the hard drive. I told my sister we would just buy an external hard drive for less than that expense, and she would have the drive for future backups.I visited her over Christmas, and on December 26, 2012 we drove the computer to Mac Cafe. They were not interested in the Apple case number - and of course they could NOT hear the noise in the store. Immediately behind the service desk hangs a flat screen monitor/tv with a roaring fan. These people were dismissive of her claim that the fan was making any noise, but finally agreed to take it for a closer look.Today, Mac Cafe called my sister and told her no repair. There is NO noise from the fan, and any noise she hears is normal anyway...I know this to be incorrect, because we have at least 10 iMacs of this vintage on desks in our faculty offices - and two needed to have the fans replaced to get rid of this noise. My sister will now be burdened with taking this computer to an Apple Store - or some place that really will try to fix the problem. Save yourself the hassle and just go to the Apple Store in Ann Arbor. (I could have saved my sister and me time by just bringing the computer back to Columbus for the repair, but my sister wanted to save me the burden.)I do NOT recommend Mac Cafe for their poor attitude throughout the entire process: providing a worry about the computer hard drive and suggesting a $75 fee to backup the computer; refusing to even refer to the already established Apple case number where Apple already did diagnostics over the phone, and then just saying that this noise is normal despite my multiple experiences otherwise.
My more-than-satisfactory experience on 11-28-12 was with Brooks, a MacCafe tech, who not only provided me with answers to my Mac questions about any merit moving from Snow Leopard to Mountain Lion but also succinctly answered questions about why my Best Buy Toshiba VCR-DVD Recorder only dubs DVDs it can play on itself and not on my iMac.He explained the DVD Recorder probably wasnt up to the technical abilities of the iMac, so its content was not recognized. He went further to inform me that likely there are general settings on the Toshiba recorder that could be changed to allow recorded DVDs to play on other devices. I received this information within 2 minutes time and immediately after I had dialed MacCafe. After four tries with Best Buy, two disconnects, and 25 minutes on hold, I was told to try a DVD-RW rather than DVD-R disk, which Brooks advised me was not wise if I wished to preserve these home movies I was transferring to new media. In short, my technical assistant was polite, insightful and pointed me to a solution outside of the Mac realm at no charge. I have been buying Macs and servicing them through MacCafe for more than a decade and still feel they are the best at what they offer.
I talked to John Breno ... he was great!!!!
Great helpful staff and service.
Always helpful & expeditious!
Fast service.
They will help you with any problem you have with you Apple Computer.
