I want to start this off my saying I have never posted a review, negative or positive, about anything ever. It always seems bias one way or another. With that said, my dad and I hired captain Tom with the intent to pole around a flat sight seeing for redfish. We arrived at the dock to no introduction and Captain Tom not even asking what our names were. We proceeded to fish under a bridge and troll motor around docks. If we wanted to do this we could have drove to a bridge or public dock and fished. My dad and I have been fishing the IRL/Banana River for 20 years both with our own boat and with multiple guides. Captain Tom was by far the least professional guide we have fished with. He seemed very uninterested and not serious. There was no conversation related to fishing and guiding us only Captain Tom’s life and life stories that were completely irrelevant to our fishing trip. I’m not sure if he thought we were tourists from out of state just looking to catch anything or what the case was. Our intent was to pole a flat and that was not what happened. If you are a serious flats fisherman I would recommend looking in another direction.

Captain Tom was an excellent guide and very experienced in getting us to the fish and had an explosion of sea trout for the whole 4 hours. The fish were biting mad in all the areas we fished. My wife especially enjoyed the trip with capt. tom being very helpful in making sure she caught the biggest sea trout.

Great trip. Weather cooperated and the fishing was great. We saw Alligators and woodpeckers and Osprey, dolphins and a ray. Captain Tom worked really hard and drove us all over the place to put us on the fish. A great experience all around and I would do it again in a heartbeat. So much fun.

Capt. Tom did a Great Job, he has really good equipment and fishing out of his Ranger is rock steady. We caught Specks and Reds, and got on several BIG SCHOOLS of Reds......he worked really hard to keep us on the Fish and we had a BLAST with him! Well be going with him again the next time were down.....so if your in or around the Orlando Area and are looking for Good Fishing on the Flats, Capt. Tom is your best bet!

Hey Tom -Thanks again for a very enjoyable morning on the water-great break for me from the Disney/Universal madness. I felt like I was fishing with a very knowledgeable buddy instead of a hired guide. It was great how you knew there was a big fish in the area before we even saw it. This was a treat for my boyfriend and it was perfect! We caught several fish and enjoyed Captain Tom Carvers boat. It was spacious and steady. We were able to travel into really shallow water right next to the mangroves as well. I would recommend this charter anytime.

It was great to go out with captain Tom. First cast my wife had a fish on. He kept us in fish all day long. We got to see a lot of manatees, they stayed around the boat for at least an hour, they were neat to see. We asked him about dolphins and he took us to several places and we got to see a couple wild dolphins. Would definitely go back out on another charter with Captain Tom. Thanks for a great trip!!

My 10 year old son, me, manatees, dolphins, seabirds, sea turtle and ....oh ya....we caught a lot of fish. 3 different species!!! Capt. We had a great day fishing with Capt. Tom. We caught a lot of fish, but more importantly had a great time. My 5 year old son had a blast and was able to catch more than me. Will definitely be back with Capt. Tom when we come back to town.

We had tough conditions but Captain Tom did his best to get us on fish. My son boated a nice redfish! Tom was awesome, down to earth, he treated us like friends and not clients, any question we had he answered. We are from Wisconsin, so it was the first time for us to fish on the ocean, definitely wont be our last! I would recommend Tom to anyone, and we will be back for sure!!

Captain Tom is a great guide for the Mosquito Lagoon. He was a pleasure to work with from the very moment our booking was verified. Flataddicted is a perfect match for two people who want a private fishing excursion on the flats. My 16y.o. son who had never been salt water fishing before enjoyed himself immensly - three hours in and he didnt pull out his phone once! Captain Tom taught my son as if he was his own - patient, kind, and knowledgeable with every step.The boat was spotless, the equipment in great condition, and the level of personal service Capt. Tom provided made the trip well worth every penny. Thank you Capt. Tom, for a day of memories that we can never forget. Flataddicted gets Five Stars without hesitation.

Captain Tom did us well. It took us a while to find the reds but my son and I managed to land five. Just being out in the Florida backwaters was a special treat and overall the experience was great. I would book this again.

This was our first time fishing this area. We had an excellent time with Captain Tom. Caught about 10 Trout (4 keepers) and a Redfish. Saw a few dolphins and at least 8 manatees that came with in feet of the boat. He made sure to slow down and shut his motor off in order to drift past the group of manatees in the middle of the channel. This was unlike other boaters who flew through the area showing no respect for the animals, when you could clearly see them surfacing from a long distance away. He exceeded our expectations. I have been on multiple charters throughout the south, some that travel a long distance that cuts into your fishing time or charge extra to clean the fish or end the trip early to clean fish. Captain Tom, does the little things, he takes the time to demonstrate techniques, explains the different characteristics of the fish you catch, makes sure you spend as much time as you can with a bait in the water, and cleans your fish at the end of the trip. He is very friendly and knowledgeable, will definitely be using him on future fishing trips.Thanks again Tom,Jared and Shelly

Fishing was tough due to the heat and time of year but certainly no fault of Captain Tom. Tom was very knowledgeable and experienced and went out of his way to make this a terrific fishing experience. If you are looking for Redfish, Black Drum, Seatrout, (something different from freshwater Largemouth Bass and Crappie) I would highly recommend Tom and “Flat Addicted.”
