Review №3

This place may be good for industrial powder coating applications. Not delicate automotive work. I picked this place because it had decent reviews and was local to me.I had a set of Brembo brake calipers powder coated here. Turnaround time was about 6 days, so not bad. Before I dropped the calipers off, I called ahead to make sure they would be able to coat them and for the price, lead time, etc. I also asked if I needed to mask them off prior to bringing them in (piston bores, dust seal seats, threaded holes) and they said no we will do that. So I dropped them off completely disassembled and explained that they needed to be masked off well and that none of the machined surfaces could be blasted or painted. As I explained this I got a sure, no problem, I got it, I will make them look really nice. So that was reassuring.Well I go to pick them up, and they neglected to mask off essentially anything. Sand was flowing out of the ports. There was debris underneath the powder coat and thin spots in some areas. There was a thick coat of baked-on paint in that bled into the piston bores, and completely in dust seal seats, the mounting surfaces, and all threaded ports for brake lines coming in and out. I mean really? I said you have to clean this up. So they kept them for two more days to get the paint removed form these areas. I came back and they sand blasted the paint out of the piston bores, dust seal seats and still did not removed anything out of the threaded holes. At this point I said this is enough, and brought the calipers home. I had to buy taps to clean all the holes out and scrape the remaining paint off the machined surfaces. I have not been able to test the brakes out yet but the dust seals were very hard to get back in place because of the paint built up in the bottom of the grooves. I hope the functionality of the brakes are not diminished because of the paint built up everywhere. But we will see.Overall this was not worth is at all. Please learn from my mistake.
