Overall an amazing experience! Princess was AMAZING! She asked multiple times if there was anything I wanted tweaked or changed, which I greatly appreciated because I’m not very trusting with my hair. Highly recommend the shop along with Princess!

Mindy is excellent! I picked her initially based on other reviews a while back, and every single trim I get is crisp and professional-- I dont know how she makes me look so good! But she does! If you have a beard I recommend the detailed beard trim. She goes in with the clippers and with a straight razor and tidies everything up. They also offer brow waxing and some facial treatments including an exfoliating scrub. All recommended. Plus its very relaxing! Comfy chairs too. Im always awkward at the barber, but theyre all really chill. Definitely make an appointment though, especially if you also want a beard trim or brow wax etc.

The Shop is a quality barbershop tucked away into Austin Ranch. Trish took care of me and my hair. Booking a day or 2 in advance is advised because they are always booked up. Reasonably priced at $28 and the overall service is great. Would recommend!

I have been having a bad experience at the large chain barber i have been going to. I tried this place out for the first time and Trish did a great job and was very fast to! I highly recommend this place if you are looking for somewhere new.

Love this place! Been coming here for nearly three years. I always do the appointment since I know they get busy. My previous barber was Princess, but she moved back to her hometown so now I have Sonya and the service is the same, great! Ive recommended this place by word of mouth and now making it official and giving them an actual review. The Shop has been my go to Haircut Spot since I moved to the North Dallas Area. In the four years I’ve frequented The Shop, The price of my haircut has only changed slightly, but I’d still the best price I’ve paid for such a quality cut in DFW. Sonya is the person I’ve looked for most to cut my hair, but 3-4 stylists have all provided me great cuts over the years. Scheduling an appointment is easy, and can be done online. The staff are friendly and very helpful in situations when I’m running late or can’t make it in last minute. The facilities are clean and the vibe is relaxed and casual. Did I mention they provide free beverages too? Highly recommend if you are looking for a new barber in the North Dallas Area!

My husband took my 9 year old and what a disappointment....yes great hair cut awful service. My boy has had long hair since birth and as we just moved to the area all of a sudden decided to get a short hair cut. We researched and this place had great reviews.....Ne’Chelle acted so cold and rude didn’t even speaking 2 words to my son, verily asked my husband what kind of cut and that was the end of the conversation. I was recommended this place after a bad haircut at another place, and let me tell you this place is GREAT!! Sonya took care of me and she took her time to make sure it was right. She showed me some pics and talked about what we could do to fix my hair. She made sure she did what I wanted before she did it and gave me a few options. She was very personable. She is GREAT! This place has a great vibe and the price is lower than I thought for what you get. They even use a straight razor to shave the back of your neck for a good clean shape. Everyone there was friendly and I see why they were recommended to me. Walk ins are welcome here too but I did make sure to set up an appointment online beforehand as they do fill up spots fast. I highly recommend this place. Turned my bad haircut into one of the best Ive ever had!

I was looking for a new barber, so I googled Men’s haircuts, The Colony, and discovered The Shop in Austin Ranch. I was very impressed with the reviews for Ty so I thought I would give him a try. He lived up to every previous review. This guy knows his way around with a pair of clippers!! I wanted something a little different, I explained it to him and the end result was exactly what I wanted. If you are looking for a great Barber Cut you need to make an appointment with Ty!!!

Made an appointment and waited 15 minutes and the barber never showed. Not running behind, I would understand that, just not there. Shop looked nice and is convenient to my home, however I shouldn’t have to wait for a service that I’m paying for and have an appointment for. Disappointing.

Definitely my go-to for haircuts after trying out so many different places. Maegan has been my barber for the three times Ive gone and is great at cutting hair and shooting the breeze with. Very relaxed atmosphere, good music and cozy seating. Its a great mix of price and set up - same cost as a Sports Clips but enjoyable like a Boardroom. Highly recommend.

I can tell you, this is a good shop. My husband goes to the best Sonya or Casey are hands down the best in the area. He drives over an hour to get his cut and beard trim. He sets his apt and go in with now wait, they take pride in their work day in and day out. But lets be honest if he drives over an hour to get his hair cut, that should tell you something. I would say if your searching for a good shop then this one is for you. But remember Sonya or Casey hands down the most talent in that barber shop. Cause they take care of you from start to finish.

Disappointed. This is just super cuts with a beer (which I was not offered.) Staff is pleasant, but has a very limited skill set which is reflected by their work. If you dont mind a schoolboy haircut by all means continue to feed the ego of these invalids for a beer and the convenience of a close walk. I, however, will be paying elsewhere to attempt to restore my hair back from this kindergarten state to something more presentable and professional.

Amazing. Granted, Ive only been the one time but I was TRULY impressed. I cant begin to explain how hard it always seems to be for me to find someone who can actually give me a good haorcut. Maybe its the way I explain what I want, maybe its my hair or maybe good barbers are just THAT hard to find.I got my haircut by the owner. She was super friendly and laid back. Its always great when a small business makes you feel like family, especially when its hyper local like this one (basically inside a residential neighborhood). The shop was clean too... but bottom line, she did a GREAT job on my hair and beard. Honestly, she couldve been a jerk (she wasnt) and the shop couldve been a dump (it wasnt) for all I care, as long as the actual cut is as good as it was!Minor note, the drink they offered was a tad warm, but Ill still rate the Shop 5 stars considering how inconsequential that is. Its like going to an amazing hotel and then getting mints you dont like on the pillow. it really isnt what youre there for. Just thought Id put some constructive criticism to balance out my absolute enthusiasm to have finally found a place to get a GOOD hair cut... Im way over due to go back.

I gave this place a shot because of the positive reviews and relatively cheap price for a standard mens haircut. Compared to higher end mens salons, The Shop does just as good a job (if not better) at literally half the price. Casey was friendly, efficient, and professional and Ill definitely be referring friends here in the future.

Flew in to Dallas for an unplanned meeting in Plano. Needed cut bad and The Shop fit me right in and cut and shave top notch and reasonably priced as compared to others with absurd pricing. Highly recommend.

I went there for the very first time a couple Saturdays ago and Mindy took great care of me. She listened to what I had concerns about and she was on the same page. WE, not her, we decided to leave one side alone and just trim it up because it was terribly messed up from my last hair cut from a barber I had gone to for 8 years. She totally understood what needed to be done and what didnt at this visit. THAT WAS AWESOME!! I will definitely go back to Mindy and the Shop for all my haircuts in the future. Sorry old barber you really screwed up. Oh one more very important thing I also left out, the cost of my haircut was actually much cheaper and she did the same amount of work the old barber did. WOW They also give veterans and military people discounts on ever visit. WOW again!! If you want a great haircut and great conversation, than stop where your going and go to the Shop. You will not regret it.

She listens to what I want and executes it perfectly. She is very knowledgeable of all different styles of cuts. She is easily available anytime Ive asked for a cut. Ive been here twice.. first time was good so i decided to call to make an appointment for 3pm then when I arrived at 3pm it turned out the lady booked my for 2:45 without letting me know, they ended up getting me in but the person who cut my hair was rushing the job. she did a good job but it felt rushed and i got no apology for the wrong scheduling.. they do a good job if you get a haircut here I would HIGHLY recommend triple checking your appointment time

I have been coming to this place for about a year now. Most of the time, I can get a haircut without a problem. The last few times seemed like they were exceptions, but it looks like it is becoming the norm. Last time, I had an appointment and got seen maybe 20 minutes after the time I was supposed to. The barber then took over an hour to do a simple cut. This time, I had an appointment for 5:30 and was told that she was a little behind. The person she was already working on was about to have his fade started, maybe halfway through his cut buy the looks of it. I ended up leaving at 6:15, when she was just starting to shape up the edges. I left because I value my time and was not going to waste another hour and a half sitting around. This is now 2 times in a row where I am dissatisfied.

Ive been coming here for a couple of years and always manage to get a good haircut. I get a relatively simple cut and style but based on what Ive seen first hand when visiting they can handle much more particular clientele.

First I would like to address the naysayers, not all people can be pleased if your pressed for time call ahead and ask how long the wait is for walk-ins. As for their customer service; which is spot on by the way, maybe you are too needy and uptight my experience was outstanding.I called ahead and let them know what time I would be there they made me a reservation and upon arrival I was immediately helped. I had my 5 year old daughter with me which was doing her homework while I was being helped. Jordan was my stylist and after explaining what I wanted she understood and did an amazing job. She even helped my daughter with her homework while cutting my hair, if that not customer service I dont know what is. She even apologized for stepping in which she didnt need to I was fine with extra set of eyes.Now for what really matters the cut. I am very picky and never really know how I feel about a cut until I go home and examine it closely. I could not find any mistakes. Jordan not only has great customer service, she has a great personality and is amazing with scissors, straight edge, and clippers. I highly recommend this place. She reminded me that they are very busy at times and to make sure to book an appointment as they honor those first(as it should be). This was my first time but will not be my last!!Great job it take a lot for me to be this happy and to actually write a review. Keep it up you are doing an amazing job. Im so glad I was recommended to this gem!

Great Barbers with a chill atmosphere

They cut a great haircut at this place, I am always very pleased with the end result. But their scheduling system could use A LOT of work. I have had FOUR different instances where I have called in to schedule or reschedule an appointment and they have forgotten about me, or cut someone’s hair before me and have me wait there for 30 plus minutes after my scheduled appointment to get my hair cut. Again, love the people that work there, and love there work. But it is very bothersome to drive all the way over there, fight for a place to park, and expect to get a haircut all for them to just tell you that you aren’t on the schedule. Particularly like my most recent appointment mishaps when I have something very important that night and was in desperate need for a haircut.

This place is amazing. I just moved into the area was looking for a new place to go to tried a few in the area which weren’t so good and over priced. I walked in and I was taken right away to get my hair cut by Princess and I showed her a picture of how I wanted my hair cut and in 30 minutes bam she did it. I wanted my beard trimmed as well and she made me an appointment for the next day but I forgot what time it was and I was late 17 minutes but Michelle (I believe was her name) she took care of me right away and she did exactly what I wanted. And I was in and out really quick and for the quality of their hair cut and beard is AMAZING !! I will be coming here from now on till I move again. I highly recommend this place to everyone. Princess and Michelle are both amazing and give so much pride to do what they do !!

Been coming here since I moved from Long Beach, CA almost 1 year ago and cant imagine going anywhere else! I get my haircut every week...you might say religiously...but finding a decent barbershop that actually knows how to do a razor fade is a task all on its own. The Shop has more of a modern take on the traditional barbershop and it definitely works. You drop in, have a seat, and if you find yourself thirsty, they have some cold ones in the fridge...complimentary! The vibe is lively, space is clean and tidy, and the workers all seem to enjoy being there. Sonya is my go-to, and does an AMAZING job with the razor. Oh, and did I mention that they also place a hot towel on your face + shampoo your head upon completion? This place has definitely earned my business and Ive already recommended to a few close friends who continue to get their hair cut here as well...so look no further, but I do recommend calling ahead or booking an appointment online because they do get pretty busy of the weekends!

The shop was empty on a Monday afternoon with two barbers sitting by their chairs, so I figured Id see if I could get a quick walk in trim. Instead I was told it would be a three hour wait before they could help me.It seems like a nice enough shop, but if your barbers arent interested in taking walk ins during slow times then simply advertise that you operate by appointment only. My search for a new barbershop will continue elsewhere.

Wasted almost 2 hours of my day here. First time going and Im never going back. I didnt even get a haircut. They had me waiting like an idiot after I had made an appointment. I was literally ignored while waiting there too. Two people got there after me and were helped before me even though I had made an appointment. When I finally got up and said something they didnt know what to say. One of them finally offered to cut my hair but with a horrible attitude. So I just walked out. Dont recommend it either if youre looking for a good fade. The hair I did see them do was pretty basic. #supercuts

Horrible costumer service this time. The only reason I was coming here was for my daughters wedding. I needed a shave trim the goatee and hair cut. Not sure who she was but she has purple hair and said I was only down for a hair cut that she couldn’t do the shave and the beard trim. Very disappointed because last time was awesome and that is the only reason I am giving them two stars. You need some customer service training!

Very lousy customer servive. Went in there for a quick hair cut 20 min before closing and told that she didnt have enough time even though there was no one in there. The girl there seemed too interested in talking to her friend than running her business. They must not care if they stay in business if this is how they treat their customers.

I made an appointment for a haircut at 11:45. It was almost noon before anyone at the shop acknowledged that I was there. One of the stylists told me that her colleague was running behind and invited me to have a beer. The stylist in question was just starting another haircut so it would have been at least 30 minutes and probably longer before we could get started. A fancy computerized scheduling program isnt much good if you cant meet the schedule. Disappointed. Still looking for a new place to get my hair cut only because the place I went to for many years closed.
