Best around town !! The employees really care about the Quality of work performed! Sometimes it may take longer than expected. Its kind of like going to the doctor, you want them to take the time and care to make absolutely sure nothings overlooked. Some may argue Im partial because of my employment with the company. However, I can assure you I only use Cates Transmission for our auto repairs! I can see first hand the care that goes into each automobile!Great Staff & Great Service!!

I had my car towed here from De Queen, AR, because I was told that they could repair my transmission in a couple of days. That was on a Wednesday. I called back two days later, on a Friday, just to check up on the progress of the repair. I was told that it was possible that my vehicle would be finished that day, but that the gentleman was going to come in on Saturday morning (when theyre not usually open) to finish it up. Because I have terrible phone service down here, I had to have my dad call them from North Dakota on that Saturday. He was told that they were going to finish it up that day and that they would give me a call when they were done. I never got a call. I figured that they were simply unable to finish it that day and that I would just have to wait until Monday. Kind of a pain, but whatever. Its a big job to rebuild a transmission, so I figured Id give them the extra time. Today is Monday. I called over there at 9:30 this morning to ask about the status of my vehicle and was told that they have no idea if it will be done today. Okay, I said, I have to check out of my hotel room at 11. Am I safe to gather my things and get a cab over there? I dont know. Ill call you back in a couple of hours. I had to reserve yet another night at my hotel because they still have no idea when they will be finished.I chose to have my car towed down here from the small town of De Queen because I was told very matter-of-factly that my car would be repaired in a couple of days. It has now been five days, and Ive been dealing with three days of, We have no idea when well be done. I understand that this type of repair takes a while, but I wish they would have had the courtesy of giving me an HONEST repair time when I first talked to them.Im still sitting here in my hotel room with NO IDEA when my car will be repaired. They were supposed to call back with a cost estimate, too, and they cant even be bothered to do that.This is some of the worst service Ive ever received. Steer clear of this place.

Mr.Cates personally gave me a ride to my hotel after my car had broken down and promptly ordered my car part which arrived early the next morning. Good price and good people. Highly recommend.

Paid 6000.00 for a new motor for my 2002 classic mustang. And several issues of going back. A/C wont work did before. We dont know whats wrong they said. Told. My son to put about 1000 miles on it and they would do first one free. . huh. Cost me nearly 60.00. Spark plug cover kept coming off and the car was missing all the time carried it back and the put it back on 2 -3 different times and finally instead of putting on new on they used a zip tie to keep it on. Didnt fill lines and fluid back. Sad sad i wish i could get 1/2 of my money back for a half a. . job.

Shop was broken into all that was stolen was my car.It would be ok if the shop had insurance. Or would pay the judgements in texas against him like I and others have.Dont take anything there that you want back.

Honest and thorough

Awful experience. Cates lied numerous times. He kept our truck for 9 months and it still wasnt fixed! We had to take him to court to get our truck fixed and even then he disobeyed the judges order. DO NOT take your truck to Cates to get it fixed unless you dont want it done right.

Went there a couple of days ago and asked the nice guy about my 2011 impala and he checked it out and didnt charge me one red dime I will return for him to service my vehicle.
