Great horse farm to take a ride. They have two or three options to go during the day, and I did an afternoon one. The horse was perfectly hand picked for my height and weight, Id never felt more comfortable on a horse. They give a little basic riding and safety lesson for each rider individually. Once everyone is ready, youre taken on about a 30 min ride on some beautiful horse trails. The horse I had was great and I could keep control of her quite easily. A laid back farm atmosphere, the horse handlers are friendly and attentive to everyones needs. Had a great time. Definitely worth the money!
Scheduled a ride for 12:30 on Monday. My daughter hurt her ankle but knowing that we had to commit I texted Vin Hesten that we were committed and that she would put her foot in a closed toe shoe to go. At 11 they texted that they needed to make the ride 2:30. Because we are from out of town we could not change to 2:39. We had to leave our Airbnb. I requested a refund. I emailed twice. I texted. No one called me. At 7pm at night they sent a gift card so we could reschedule. We don’t live in town!!! I demand a refund. This is a breach of contract. I was willing to go on the ride with a daughter with a bad leg at the time we agreed upon. No where in the contract does it state you get to change the schedule and I have to accept it. This company is horrible.
Great trail ride! Family owned and very helpful and friendly staff. Will definitely be coming back
Family owned rach. Great tour with a very personable guide. Horses were well behaved and seemed very well taken care of. The guide explained how they are also a horse rescue. Would recommend for anyone looking for a chill vibes experience. Will be returning.
Loved it....
We did the ride last Saturday (4/21/18) and have mixed feelings about it. Loved that we rode rescue horses and thought the employees/owners were nice. Our guide (Lisa) was friendly and patient. The ride itself was ok, the trails were not very scenic - no where near the pictures they presented. My main complaint is that we never received the pictures and never heard back from the owner after sending 2 emails (called as well, but they dont have voice mail) wanting to know when we would be receiving the pictures (as they were part of the package and something that we really wanted to remember the experience). Twice we stopped on the ride for about 5-10 minutes so we could get in a proper setting so that Lisa could take pictures (she used her cell phone) which only added salt to the wounds (as well as leaving a generous tip) in not getting the pics.Hard to believe in this day and age that it is that difficult to send pics that were taken on a cell phone. Would recommend that the owners not mention the pics as part of the package AND not spend 15-20 minutes taking pictures if they have no intent of sending them to you. If you go, maybe you could give the guide your own phone ( I would have done this had I known they would not send pics) and/or dont give her the tip until you received the pics....very shay/deceitful to say the least! Had I received the pictures, I would have rated it 4 stars.
This is a great horse rescue! Your patronage helps fund the many costs associated with running the place. Very enjoyable visit.
My wife and I were there recently as part of our anniversary celebration. We purchased our tickets via Travelzoo. While we were there the staff was friendly, but since our visit their customer service gets a big F. I have called 5 times and sent 2 emails. The manager has not replied one time.1. We (as apparently other customers) have not received the pictures which were suppose to be included in the package. The managers lame explantion to those other customers were maybe their email was entered incorrectly. I have given them our email 4 times! But no one has ever called me back. So, a totally unacceptable excuse! Make sure you take your own pictures!!!2. When we drove onto their property our car was almost damaged by huge ruts. Manager said ruts were new?! BOLOGNA! the ruts were not new! They should have been filled with gravel or dirt to prevent customer car damage!3. We arrived early but the other 2 couples never showed up. So our guide had to unsaddle their 4 horses. Thus, our ride was delayed for over 1/2 hour. Another staff member should have unsaddled those 4 horses! Customer inconvenience!4. Our ride was well under the one hour promised. We were not taken on the trail with the spectacular over views (as seen in their advertisements). So, we have less than positive feelings regarding this business. I would not have posted any of this if they had at least showed me the respect of calling me back to resolve the missing pictures issue. I guess buyer be aware. Remember.... make sure to take your own pictures as a souvenir!
Real nice trail ride through some wooded Temecula countryside. Gentle horses, and good guide! Would recommend :)
From the very beginning to the very end, it was disappointment after disappointment. There was no sign saying Vin Hesten anywhere so I pull in and see a bunch of horses and a young girl, who didnt greet us when we came in, so I ask if this is where its located. All she says is yes then walks away. We are guessing we should follow her, but we also dont know if shes someones daughter being that she looked very young and petite. She hands us two papers and says to read it then sign it, thats it. Doesnt explain what its about, what we would be signing. So we decide to start asking questions. We find out shes only been there for 4 months and shes the only one there right now (meaning she will be our guide). We wait for the 2 people that were a part of our group then go learn how to ride the horses. Thank goodness the other girl in the group has rode before because she was really our guide helping us out and giving us advice because the girl who worked there hardly spoke even though she could see how nervous we were and we blatantly told her. She never even told us how to lean when we are going up and down hills which there are a lot of. The girl in our group told us as we were leaving. The entire time the horse in front of me, which is the largest one and also the one they dont know the age of (the girl from vin hasten told us) is limping so bad and looked like his foot was going to give out multiple times. To the point that the rider almost fell with her more than once. It was so sad to watch. Another horse didnt follow the group and the guide wouldnt say anything. She would just stop and watch. It was the girl in our group trying to guide her on what to do. The guide said maybe 3 things to us during our entire 2-2.5hr ride. When we get back she doesnt even help us off the horses she just tells off to get off so my friend and I helped each other. Now its the part where we get our wine vouchers. She hands us a card that she wrote 2 wine tastings on and says make a left when you get out and its the one with the white gates. We are thinking ok lets all go as a group. We spent 20 minutes trying to find the place all while trying to call Vin Hesten which no one ever answers because we realize the card she gave us is THEIR business card just with 2 wine tastings written on it. No wine company name, no wine company phone number. Nothing! We go back and ask for their number and she gives it to us then says they close at 5pm. Since our tour started at 2pm its about 4:45pm! We were all pissed! The whole point we purchased this was to go on horses AND go drink wine. The girls from the other group don’t even live in the area so they aren’t even going to use it and I can’t even find where I put the small card so I’ll never be able to go. LONG review, but I couldnt leave out any parts although Im sure I did.
Our guide was fun informative and genuine! Nice place with great guides!
