Kevin has just started working with son (only 3 sessions) and so far he is enjoying it. Kevin came highly recommended from a bunch of friends who used him to help their children prepare for the TACHS. I’m confident that with Kevin’s help my son will have as much success on the exam as the others that Kevin has worked with had. We are looking forward to continuing working with him.

I dont think I can recommend Kevin more highly or enthusiastically. Kevin has tutored both of my children since mid-way through the pandemic, and this has been lifesaving. Kevin truly cares for his students and this shows in the way he prepares and conducts each session. I have been so impressed with his can-do and CALM approach to working with my kids. I can’t speak highly enough about Kevin. He tutored my son since July for the TACHS exam. My son really enjoyed going to Kevin’s. He was always looking forward to his next session! On the last day of tutoring, on the way out the door, my son held my shoulder and said, “Mom, thank you SO much for signing me up to work with Kevin. I feel so much better about taking this exam. Kevin helped my daughter prepare for the TACHS exam. First, Kevin gave her a mockexam to test her knowledge and skill. From there, he was able to determine what areas they needed to focus on to get the maximum results. Along with the lessons and more practice tests, Kevin provided test taking strategies to help my daughter remain calm and focused throughout the exam. Her score improved a minimum of 10 percentage points in each of the categories. My daughter received merit scholarships to every school to which she applied. Needless to say, working with Kevin is worth the investment!

Kevins talent as a tutor is immense. He connects with our son and really sees the whole child. He thinks out of the box and works with parents to supports understanding and motivation when that is the issue. We highly recommend him as a tutor!

Kevin is a gifted teacher with a deep understanding and enjoyment of math, and also kids! He understands adolescent cognitive development and how best to teach and engage students. He is smart, thoughtful, experienced, positive, and fun. Most importantly, my kids really like him. As a parent, I appreciate how he gets the individual strengths and challenges of my kids and how well he communicates with me about them. He is one of the most insightful educators I have ever met.

Kevin works with my 13 year old and 11 year old. He is very dedicated to their improvement. Additionally, he is open to feedback from me as a parent and educator myself. Kevin use of manipulatives and other educational resources allow him to increase his effectiveness with his students understanding the curriculum.

Kevin has been tutoring my son for a few months now and is successfully helping him understand and enjoy his 4th grade math. Kevin worked with my reluctant daughter to prepare her for the SSAT. He was wonderful with both my daughter and me. He is smart, kind, flexible and insightful. In addition to teaching the subject matter, he provided excellent guidance in test-taking skills and gave my daughter the confidence she needed to enable her to push through the studying and test-taking while managing her school work. I highly recommend Kevin, who tutored my 8th grader for math and science this year. Kevin developed a wonderful rapport with my son, was patient and encouraging, and helped him better understand some very dense material. Equally as important, my son had fun during his sessions! We look forward to working with him again in 9th grade.

We are on year three of retaining Kevin as a math tutor for our daughter. For those interested in the bottom line: grades waaaaay up! But more important: we are so grateful to Kevin for identifying exactly what she needed in order to boost her confidence, her comprehension, and her grades in math. Kevin immediately identified her as a smart, capable kid who had been rushed through the basics (also, she is part of the guinea pig generation of the Common Core rollout and this was also a disadvantage to be overcome) and was already being asked to tackle abstract ideas. We couldnt understand why she could do algebra, but was still stumbling over place value, but Kevin did. He has been able to go back and build up her basic math skills while a) not making her feel babyish and b) keeping her on track with current school math curricula. Hes even been in touch with her math teacher at times to coordinate. Kevin is calm, incredibly patient, and our daughter enjoys the sessions. I wholeheartedly recommend him.
