I’m from Oklahoma City and called Dave in an absolute panic this morning - my check engine light was on and we are in the middle of a three week road trip. Dave said he couldn’t get us in for repairs until Tuesday, but if we wanted to swing by, he’d check the sensor light and see we had a major problem on our hands. The husband went by 10 minutes later and Dave checked the truck on the spot. Thank goodness, no big problem and we can go on our way. My husband tried to pay Dave but he refused payment - said he was happy to help. THIS is the kind of service and kind of commitment to customers that would make me a long-term customer. Better than a dealer at competitive prices.

Made an appointment for 9am for alignment. They said it would be ready around noon. Came to pick it up at 3:50, hasnt moved yet. Said it would be done by 5pm. Took 2 trips from eagle nest to taos, a day off work and $40. For nothing to get done! Said there was a hand full of things that need to get fixed first. If they would of pulled it in in the morning and told us that information this review would be vastly differentEdit: I was contacted by Metric Motors and they refunded the charge on my credit card. Still not happy about the experience, but I am glad they stepped up and agreed what happened was unacceptable.

Just not sure I trust these guys.

Despite being busy they found a way to fit me into the schedule the same day so I didn’t have to finish my summer road trip without AC. Very friendly staff, prompt service and great price. Next time I’m in Taos I will be bringing my business back to them should I have any other car troubles.

Weve had all of our fleet/personal vehicles serviced here for over 15 years. 10 vehicles total. Theyre fast, professional and honest. Taos is lucky to have them here. The very few times that theyve messed up, theyve always scrambled to make it right. Foreign or domestic, it doesnt matter, these guys are the best.

Took a day to get a simple quote for front shocks on my 2WD Tacoma. Decided to ask the tire shop I like in Taos who they recommended for shocks. Saved $142 by getting a second quote and I got the second quote with no wait time.

We were on our way to Red River when our car broke down. We drove in past hours and there were still some people cleaning. Juan was very nice and professional and after hours he came to just take a peek under the hood to see if there was anything obvious. Unfortunately there was nothing to see for the naked eye. These folks do great work. They have completed several complex jobs on my Touareg with great results. They even repaired what a previous mechanic screwed up with no complaints and no charge. Front desk is friendly and helpful.

They have ALL my auto service business because they go great, reliable work. My latest service work was on my Nissan Frontier where some weird electric thing caused my truck to just die in the middle of the road. Had it towed to Metric where Juan went above & beyond to find the problem & got it fixed!

I would try anybody else. They could not find the problem on my electrical system, but I did. To be fair, the owner has the best equipment in town, high overhead, and needs to cover these costs.

I really appreciated Juans honesty and integrity. He saved me a lot of heartache and Christmas money by figuring out my heat problem without a full diagnostic. Ill be coming back here the next time I have a problem that removing a plastic bag wont help!! Thank you so so so much!!!

My neighbor has been is Taos 30 years and said Metric is the shop to go to in Taos. I figured I would give it a shot and was blown away by how kind, courteous and competent they were.

Im traveling from Vermont and they got my car in, fixed my rear strut (rubbing on back tire) in a very quick amount of time. Made me feel at home and got me on my trip in no time at all. I owe you all. Thanks Dave and Dawn!!

In Taos on a family trip, we noticed one of our cars brake lights not working. ORileys told us to go to Metric Motors and theyd take care of us. That they did! The person at the counter said no mechanics were available but hed try to help us. 2 minutes later and $7 total, we had brake lights again! Thank you for helping us and not taking advantage of out-of-towners!!!

Very bad experience from March 2020 ski trip.AAA towed my brother-in-law’s truck here.Charged hundreds of dollars for no value.Took it to small shop off beaten path, guy hooked us up.

After $120 diagnostic my car was rendered fairly undrivable because I chose to not do the repairs at that time. I was told in no uncertain terms by Juan that either I do the prescribed repairs or he would give me the money back for the diagnostic and I could never return. Those were HIS words that I would never return. Rather than manning up and helping me with the NEWLY CREATED problem, his solution was to leave the the car in a state in which the car would definitely fail by just completely unplugging that system and then I would have to come back to do the repair or I could leave and never come back.I dont take kindly to blackmailing so I took him up on his offer and I indeed will never return. I will also be forced to post my sour grapes across every social media review I can find. As a consumer this is my only recourse since Juan evidently lost him mind today and turned away the future business of a otherwise loyal customer. I more than likely WAS GOING TO DO THE REPAIR. I just needed some time to think about it.

These guys arent ‘the greatest’ . They can fix alot though and usually in a descent timely manner, they can over charge a little sometimes or alot but sometimes its fair. i dont go there anymore, mixed experience And they lie.

NEVER GO HERE. They are known in Taos as having horrible customer service and poor mechanical abilities. They installed something incorrectly and it fell off. When I went back to have it fixed, they refused to take any responsibility or offer any assistance in repairing this issue.

Saved the day for us . Check engine light was on as we were coming from Chama. Explained our situation and they ran a quick diagnostic test, fixed things up for us so we could continue our trip. To our surprise there was no charge...thank you Metric Motors for your help.

Nice to know that there is a quality repair facility in town--no more driving to Santa Fe for service.

Weve had several service repairs on several vehicles and Metric Motors has always been a pleasure to deal with -- courteous, prompt, and reliable!

In town for skiing when noticed small oil leak at Toas Ski Valley. Showed up at Metric apres ski at 4 pm. Metric provided immediate service. Diagnosed likely problem (valve cover gasket), did needed oil change and radiator flush before COB so we did not have to miss any time on the slopes.

Great job and good price. I highly recommend metric Moters

Ive never done a review of anything but this place was so awful i made an account to warn others. My experience was that the employees do very shoddy work, over charge a ridiculous amount and do a lot of snorting in the bathroom thats right next to the waiting room.

As is my usual experience at Metric Motors this most recent event was really excellent.

Unprofessional and rude. And watch out for their dog they let jump on cars. My new truck is very scratched up from their dog(Im a dog lover, but thats not the dog you have around other customers) jumping on my truck. There solution was the guy behind the counter, obviously just a parts guy not a auto body guy, was going to buff it out. Just some backwoods people with a collared shirt.
