Disappointment, unorganized & Lack clarity. 1st impressions are a big influence and before our appointment it was very hard to get in contact with her after numerous messages to see if my daughters case would be consider since she was coming to bk Fl from Nj & needed to continue treatment. Never showed any effort to get any info on them case prior. Was poor with directions on what floor her office was located. Showed up 20 mins late for our 1st appointment. As the parent thought she would have at least wanted to speak with me 1st alone about the concerns. No had both of us in her office & was asked what’s going on! I told her I had a report I wanted her to read prior so she could be familiar but she wanted to have us talk. Left me feeling uncomfortable saying things & repeating traumas my daughter exp. then it was my daughter turn to speak & I could tell she was uncomfortable. I stepped out for my daughter. Once session was over, Shelina Was like okay when did we want to come back. I asked her well what did she recommend? She told me it was up to me bc ofMoney . Not the type response I expected then to send us off on our way. Left me feeling brushed off! so I left my daughter report from previous psychologist . She did Not even a talk after on what type of treatment plan or questions. On the way home my daughter stated how it was awkward at times bc she asked questions & Shelina would just give her a blank stare back with awkward silence. I tried to call whn i got home but could only get response back they text. I did tell her how she made me uncomfortable asking those questions in front of my daughter as well what will be her treatment plan. She never once apologized but i noticed it Turning into going back & forth and I didn’t want to argue I wanted CLARITY! Told her to please just mail my daughters report back and please cancel the future appt. Still today a month later never got my daughters report

Having Ms.Persad in my network, I am always assured that I can count on my clients receiving the best care, which not only reflects well on me but also reaffirms that I am doing what is best for my client. I have continuously been lucky in my life to have had different therapists at different times of my life that truly provided me with the support and guidance that I needed at that time, and Shelina is no exception. I have been seeing Shelina for over a year now and it has been nothing short of exceptional and amazing. I would even add to say that she is the therapist that has truly understood me the most. Since we started, Shelina has held a compassionate and empathic space for me to process my healing of my generational trauma and codependency. Shelina is also knowledgeable about eastern cultural healing practices that I utilized and integrated with our work, which made me feel understood, supported, and never judged. Additionally, working with a counselor who understood the dynamics of my Hispanic culture was also comforting. She also held the most fun and insightful womens groups! I can say that I am in a place where I have finally healed my childhood emotional wounds that were contributing to my codependent behaviors, and I feel that I am now the empowered and confident person I knew I was always meant to be and I could not have done it without Shelina.

I can’t say enough about Shelina! Not only is she professional but she is kind hearted as well. She is a fantastic listener but also gives you genuine and productive information to put you back on track with your mental health which is so very important. Highly recommend!
