Captain Wade was AWESOME!!! My fiance and I were in Tampa and looking for a last minute fishing trip. Wade worked with us to get us scheduled before we had to leave. This was my first time fishing on a boat and it certainly did not disappoint!He was on time picking us up and already had all of the bait fish. Wade was prepared with waters, sunscreen and all the gear.After a quick spot change the fishing was outrageous! We were out for 4 hours and almost every single cast resulted in a fish! We caught Mangrove Snapper, Trout, Spanish Mackerel, Snook and even a little Hammerhead Shark!!Captain Wade recommended a place for us to take our snapper to get it cooked up for lunch along with other great bars and things to do in the area!We will certainly be back the next time we are in Tampa and I highly recommend Captain Wade to everyone!!10 Stars - Hands Down!! :)

My business partner and I love fishing. Weve done dozens of trips throughout North and Central America. Wade at Afishionado has always been our anchor. Weve been going at least annually with Wade for nearly a decade. He always puts us on the fish. The first trip, we caught 153 redfish, and additionally snook and trout. We were hooked after that!Wade is a no-nonsense captain that takes care of his customers. He doesnt hesitate to share his advice on wind, weather, tides, casting and presentation techniques. We are better fishermen all around after learning from Wade. Many of the people weve taken had never fished before. Wade had them comfortable and catching fish quickly. His live well is always super stocked before we meet him. Also his boat handles rough seas really well and is impeccably maintained.Over the years, weve taken dozens of friends and business contacts with Wade. Not one time have we been disappointed!

I was on vacation in Tampa, Florida and found Captain Wade on Google. I called him and asked if he would take us on a last minute fishing trip Monday morning, before we flew home. Even though Monday was his day off, Captain Wade went above and beyond to make it happen for us and took us out fishing bright and early.His pricing was great and the fishing was AWESOME!He was a great guy and even coached my girlfriend how to cast and fish. The whole trip was literally a perfect experience and he made everything super convenient from the time he picked us up at the dock.Boat was clean, he had all the equipment ready to go, he caught the bait before he picked us up and was prepared for us to spend every minute fishing.If I could give more than 5 stars I would.True professional service for a fair price.If you are ever looking for a great fishing guide, he is the man!

One of my favorite things to do when I am in the Tampa area is to charter a trip with Wade. Super professional and the hardest working guide I have ever seen. I have been on 5 charters with Wade, and he has delivered every time. Whatever your target species is, Wade knows where to find them and how to get the bite started. Wade knows how much we love smoked fish dip, so he made sure we got enough Spanish Mackerel to fill up my smoker, and my brother in-laws insurance strategy of buying brats for dinner as a back-up plan was not needed, as we had enough Mangrove Snapper to feed 8! Spent two days at the end of April 2021 fishing Tampa Bay with Wade. My Brother and our wives had non-stop action, beautiful weather, and Wade was a true professional host who made sure everyone caught plenty of fish and had a totally enjoyable experience. Wades a gentleman and has a great sense of humor and a wealth of information and knowledge regarding fishing in the Bay. We are already planning to make another trip down in 2022 specifically for another couple of days out with Wade. Thanks again Wade!

My son and I spent the day on the water with Wade and had an excellent trip. We hooked a good 35-40 fish in half a day and landed most of them. Wade works extremely hard and was always giving us tips to maximize our opportunity. I only wish we could go again soon. Thanks Wade.

My son and I scheduled 3.5 days of fishing with Wade. Our first time fishing with Wade and he was a professional from start to finish. Wade was on time to the dock each morning, if not early and he already caught bait and was ready to put us on the fish. Wade was on his game the entire time from maneuvering the boat for best position, to baiting hooks, chumming water, etc as we were fishing hard and taking advantage as best we could of our time on the water. What a fantastic afternoon fishing with Wade. As a last minute idea he was awesome in the planning, keeping us updated on times and locations and it only got better when we were on the water. Wade took us to some spectacular locations and boy did we catch some fish. Within 5 minutes we had caught a monster snook and we carried on catching fish all afternoon. Wade never stopped pointing out where the fish were, feeding, baiting up and regaling us with fantastic tales. He even gave us the offer of masks! This along with the ride back across the bay all made for a memorable afternoon.Thanks Wade (and Kevin who put us in touch with Wade) and when we return to Tampa we’ll be sure to return.

I have been fishing with Wade for over 20 years. We just finished another awesome fishing adventure with him this week. On several occasions we have been able to take the fish filets to a local restaurant and eat to our hearts content. We are from Utah so that is a special treat for us. We have so many fond memories of fishing with Wade. We have caught at least a dozen different species with him over the years. He knows how to put you on the fish. I love to fly-fish and have caught a number of species on a fly-rod which he provides. But we mostly fish with live bait which is also a lot of fun. Thanks Wade for all the great memories. Wade took my boys and I out for a half day of fishing...he is a great guide, we all caught fish and he had an enormous amount of patience with my kids aged 16, 15 and 12And for a mom who does not enjoy getting my hands dirty with fish slime... I didn’t have to do a thing!

If youre fishing in the Tampa Bay area, you simply cant go wrong booking Wade.A lot of guides will say they specialize in fly fishing and light tackle. Wade brings the goods. He understands how to position the boat based on the skill of the caster. Im not an expert fly-flinger but Im not bad either. Wade watched me, figured out where my comfort zone is, adjusted his positioning and set me up for success all while coaching and tending to a less experienced angler in the boat. How he juggled it all Im not sure, but it is obvious he has the experience and expertise that makes for a great guide.Bottom line, Wade does everything a great guide should do: He puts you on fish consistently. He gives you the best opportunity to hook them and he does it every minute you are on his boat. He coaches with a steady, reasonable voice and talks the fish up to the gunwale. Hes easy to get along with.Ive fished with guides who take time in the first hour catching bait. Some will add that time to the trip and some will start the clock when they leave the dock. Wade showed up at the dock both days on time with the live well full so we didnt waste time or daylight netting snacks for the predators. When you book a trip for a specified period of time, thats what you get, no BS and no time wasted. During a total of 12 hours of booked trip, I fished almost 10 of them and caught fish at every spot but one. We didnt stay there long. Time spent moving from spot to spot to follow the tides are part of the deal and Wade even keeps that to a minimum by planning his routes well. By the end of each day, we had a 10 minute trip from last cast to the dock.For me, personally, his dedication to conserving the resource and treating the fish with respect only added the the day.I cant say enough about Wade, his skill and his work ethic. If my experience with him doesnt make you want to book a trip, sell your rods and find something else to do.

One of the hardest working fishing guides Ive seen. Wade did everything! Baited my hooks, chummed the waters, pulled up my catches and put us on some incredible spots! I caught a 42 Redfish on one of my trips here in the Tampa Bay.

I have Fished with Wade since my move from Miami in 2001 Together we have won tournaments and enjoyed some epic fishing days. One thing that always happens, Wade works his tail off to put you on fish and keep you on fish. Tight lines and Bloody Spears I look forward to my next trip.

Wade is the captain for Afishianado and he did a great job for our team of 6. We had fishers from 11-75 years old with some being novice and others very experienced and Wade worked hard to accommodate everyone. We caught 50+ snook/redfish/assorted during our 6 hour trip. Wade prides himself in being the hardest working captain in Tampa, and I’d say that is a well deserved description. I’ve done 20’ish guided fishing trips and he definitely was the hardest working. Keeping live bait on 6 poles, plus taking 50 fish off hooks....he slept well after that tour I’m sure. He has a great boat, arrives to the dock with bait, ready to fish. His tour is G rated, which was good when you have an 11 yo and not the case for many other “salty dog” captains. His approach is more like my HS football coach (I’m 49) in that he keeps you on task with lots of direction, which is pretty much mandatory with a group of 6, lots of multiples on at the same time, etc. We had a great time with Wade and will definitely be back during our next visit to Tampa.
