Took 3 new pair of mens trousers there over several months for hemming. All 3 hems slowly began separating from the pant leg. In fact none of the hems appeared to even be totally attached to the legs of the pants. Could not address it immediately because they were needed for business and we had to try and secure them in several places to be worn. When I took one pair back to ask the owner who had done the alterations she said she had. I showed her the pair I had brought with me where she could plainly see the hemming had not held and asked her if she would correct the problem at no charge as it had happened to all 3 pair. She refused and said she would repair them but would charge us again. She claimed that in 40 years she has never had a complaint about her work. I left and took the pants to the business who had recommended her showing them the failed alteration. They apologized and said they will no longer recommend her. They found me another source which means we still will have to pay twice for the same job. I do not rant and rave...I politely try to correct situations; but I will pass on pictures of their work to my friends and neighbors who also live in the area.
Mrs. Lee is amazing. She refashioned a custom fabric, double layered blackout 25 foot length by 9 foot tall curtain and made 4 equal length panels for me; the stitching and pleating look identical the original seams). Not only did Mrs. Lee do an incredible job on my project, she puts her amazing skills to great use for the community, making and donating nearly 700 masks (as of today) to St. Josephs.
Recently I tired of wrestling with suit pants and slacks the waistbands of which had mysteriously shrunk suddenly (Wishful thinking.). All 15 or more were taken to Carrollwood Alterations for returning the waist size to their prior comfort settings. The alterations of all were not done overnight which was not a problem because not all the slacks were needed immediately. However, the owner(s) or staff worked through 7 or 8 pair per week and did a superb job on all of them. Their experience and skill saved me hundreds if not thousands of dollars on new suits and slacks. They know their trade and business and I found were fairly and reasonably priced. If the waistbands should continue to shrink, most of the slacks and suit pants have enough material left that further alterations could be made in the future. If that need should arise, I would not hesitate to give Carrollwood Alterations my repeat business on slacks or, for that matter, on any alterable item of clothing.
The best price and service in Tampa! I searched high and low for a place that does reasonable alterations. Because I am so short, I have to hem almost everything I buy. I basically would avoid buying dresses and dress pants until I had no choice and started a new job. I took 4 pairs of black dress pants here and they were hemmed flawlessly. I even needed one pair the next day. She did it without charging extra. I of course tipped her for being so accommodating. Cant go wrong with Carrollwood Alterations.
Ive had my clothing altered here for over 10 years (the owner altered a quincenera dress back in the day). In all my years going to Carrollwood Alterations I have never had a bad experience. The prices are fair and I have never had a complaint. The owner is quiet, but very kind and professional.
Went in to get a bridesmaid dress altered (straps crossed in the back and hemming ) at original visit when the dress was pinned and the straps were evaluated. I was quoted 90 dollars, I asked what the straps were alone (10 dollars). I was told before she did any hemming work she wanted me to come and try the dress back on to make sure the straps were okay. A week later I tried the dress back on and with the new straps I decided to go without the hemming. Then was told I would be charged 40 dollars. (10 for the straps and 30 for her time to pin it). Pretty upsetting especially since the rest of the bridal party got all of their dresses altered for 40 dollars all together. Was never told there was a 30 dollar pinning fee until after I decided to go without the 80 dollar hemming job. Will not return, or recommend anyone to this establishment again.
The owner is very unfriendly and rude. I have used her several times due to convience and location. She does not acknowledge your return business. The shop has a horrible odor and never has AC on in the hot climate of Florida. I will never bring my work uniform for alterations there again. I am sure any other establishment will appreciate my business.
Did a great job in a short time. Only thing negative was that she does not speak good english and gave terrible directions, but worth going to. 😁
Aways pleasant, great work and reasonable prices.
Fair prices, excellent service.
I love this place! Half the price of competitors with high quality work.
Highly recommend. The alterations are impeccable
Fair job. I expected more for the price. They are VERY PRICEY!!
