Best place to take your car in Tampa. We moved here 4 years ago and had a couple bad experiences with other mechanics. We started going to see Ray at Cross Creek and will never go anywhere else. Always great work at a fair price. He never does work that doesnt need to be done just to make a buck. His daughter Jess is always very helpful and knowledgeable as well. They always follow up to make sure everything is running great after the job. Definitely bring your car here.

I am 65 years old and I was broken down with no help insight! I was sitting there for five hours before my tow truck finally arrived. I had called a number of auto repair shops with very little hope for a decent cost, but when I called Cross Creek Auto Repair I was met with a friendly attitude and great estimate! As a senior I have to watch my budget as i had them install a new starter on my Nissan Altima. They also gave me an oil change which I knew I needed at a very good rate too! Ray (the owner of the shop) was extremely personable and obviously cares about his work. He explained everything he did and was quite confident my car was in good running order. I will be a steady customer for my auto needs and recommend them highly to others!
Twice, cross auto has taken great care of my 6.6l Allison GMC. Its hard to find good mechanics that will work on a vehicle from Michigan but without concern they took care of every need I had within a very timely manner. Communication is very consistent and prices are affordable. I highly recommend using them for any needs you might have

I came here after a botched gasket change in my hometown Orlando left me stranded in Tampa. Ray spoke to the dealership on my behalf and gave them a detailed description of what they did wrong. He gave me a huge break on the repair price, knowing I was in a huge bind. The other shop caused me to spew oil all over my engine, so I lost 75% of the brand new oil I replace a few days prior. Ray didn’t even charge me for new oil which was beyond what I anticipated. Without their expertise and professionalism, I would not have gotten my car not only fixed but repaired the same day I brought it in. My family just moved to Tampa and we will be sure to use this business from now on. Cannot thank and recommend them enough.
We have been going to Cross Creak Auto Service for over 7 years and we live about an hour away. Why do we drive so far? Simple! We always get amazing service on our vehicles at a fair price! Recently I had them work on my C6 Corvette and saved hundreds over the competition. As long as I live within a few hours of this shop I will continue to come.
We can not say enough good about Cross Creek Auto Service (CCAS). This small family owned business is honest, dependable and FAIR. Ray and his team will work closely with you to provide QUALITY service while helping you keep cost down. They will tell you exactly how they will repair your vehicle. Stay clear of this place. I am very disappointed at this place. I will make it simple and to the point. They were not interested in doing business with me due to the service that needed to be done at the time. I feel that they down played there ability to do the job so they could get out of it. If they do this to you it’s best to walk. Just a heads up. I never once gave the impression that I was expecting a superb job. I have no problems with finding a place that can do it better especially after your comment that which you do not need the frustration. Good business tactic. Good luck with that customer service approach. Oh and by the way, the owner is rude and lacks customer service skills. In response to business feedback, they have no record because business didnt want to service my vehicle or look at it. Owner tried to convince me that it was not worth their time. Read the other reviews and determine whether or not you want your vehicle serviced by an unprofessional, arrogant person who only cares about a profit.

Cross Creek Auto has been part of my family for the last 20 years. I keep 5 cars at all times in my house and when warranty runs out, they see me more often. They have done everything right from changing a light bulb to changing an engine. This last time, i searched myself for 5-6 months for a side mirror and a vicer. I gave up and asked Ray and Jessica to take over. it took them 2 weeks to find them. One day I started changing the power window motor myself and ended up with broken cables and a half naked door. James fixed my boo boo. You can leave the car the night before. They worked on my Audi TT, Mazdas and Sonata.5 stars and thanks to my family at CC Auto.Ronie

Steer clear of these guys. You’ll notice in the review replies how combative and contentious this guy is. I called this shop for a simple spark plug replacement. I was told wasn’t worth his time. He would replace all of my spark plugs for $500 though. Loser!!!! Went to Running Great Automotive, replaced the plug for $30, and did it with a smile. Truck’s running great! Anyone looking for help, try Running Great on Nebraska and Fletcher. They are honest and cordial. This guy is bad news.

I also have had a bad experience with the combative, discourteous person at the front counter. Also a flat repair, apparently not worth their time to dismount my tire, to see what was rolling around inside, to check if it could be patched or plugged. Went to Kauffman tire, they tried to patch it, but during dismounting we discovered that the hole was just too large. Ended up buying a set of 4 tires from them. The manager of this shop should understand that you get more flies with honey. And if liability of fixing flats is an issue, it is not hard to have a liability waiver written onto the service report. I’ve seen it done other places. Wouldn’t return here, first and last time customer.

My correction June 2020, the new owner goes good work. I was referring to the preious owners who are not there now. My apology for my incorrect post. I should have verified the old owners were gone. I had work done by this new owner at his other Cross Creek shop. The parts, prices, service were excellent. They use off brand import parts. Brake job is less than most shops. But the shoes wear out in 6 months.

Dont bother going to this shop. Today I went to this auto service place to see if I could have a flat repaired and I was told that, this type of work is not worth their time... it does not make any money for us... a total waste of time. Plus the owner went on to say that I havent come to the them for anything else in a while except for this tire repair? I informed him that I drive a newer vehicle which does not require any work! Anyway, the owner after saying this to me, walked away and told me to have a nice day... Some customer service! Furthermore, talking to other family members, this place is a total sham. My brother was told that he needed a $1,200 work repair to his vehicle and upon a second opinion, the vehicle really did not need anything other than some maintenance work under $100. I want to support local business, but this place is not going to get any business from me or any of my family members or friends... My advise to others is to avoid this place or at least get a second opinion on the work... you will be surprised!
My Mercedes Benz ML350 horns were not working, I asked them if I could buy the parts online and if they can install them. I was able to schedule an appointment after I got the parts and they completed the job as promised, very reasonable pricing, much cheaper compared to a dealership.I will take car here again.
Cross creak auto service is the best place for car servicing in the Tampa Bay Area and the best Ive ever been in general. The owner, Ray is very accommodating and cares about his customers needs more than Ive seen at any other place. I live 35 minutes away and still take my car here because of the quality of this place and trustworthiness.
I LOVE coming to Cross Creek Auto Center! They are so friendly and are always able to help me with whatever I need. I have been to several different auto shops in the Tampa Bay area and have not been impressed with any of them until I came to Cross Creek & now Ive stopped looking ! I dont feel like they have ever tried to take advantage of me there & have never pressured me into getting any more services done on my car than absolutely needed! They are GREAT!
Beware of this place. Nothing like the other shops I have used. I took my car in for repairs. I understand I did not have an appointment but the girl assured me that my car will be diagnosed that day. She took my keys but did not log in any of my information about the car. After a long wait, no repairs. I asked for my keys back. Two other people who overheard my conversation also asked for their keys. The girl then called the owner and at that moment tried to bend over backwards to get me in. At that point I was tired of waiting. This place seems to overbook but are shorthanded. I also called for an oil change a few weeks back and was told they were to busy. I will never take my car here again.

An honest and earnest advice on transmission service.Update 03/03/20: I asked the guy for an estimate to mount and balance 4 tires, and install 4 quick struts. Got the estimate but in the end, decided to just do the tires. His response was it wasnt worth his time to only do the tires, and just go to Nebraska Ave, theyll do it.

They are good, but they take forever to get your car done. Every time I go in for 30 minute to and hour work up they spend 4-5 hours. Could be a little faster, especially when I make an appointment.

Ive repeatedly tried giving this place another chance after chance because of their convenient location. Being a New Tampa resident, I want to support the community and small businesses. Not with this business!!The last straw was when I needed my transmission rebuilt. We went here b/c they were the closest and they knew us. Never am I ever going here again. It has taken them over 2 weeks to rebuild my cars transmission. 2 weeks. It was done in one week, however, that same day the car was STILL messing up. Last week I called about it, the receptionist said Friday, worst case scenario Monday. It is now THURSDAY and NO CALL WHATSOEVER THIS WEEK TO KNOW THE STATUS OF MY CAR. I guess its silly me for trusting them with this job, paying them $2100 for them to keep my car for almost a month.This service isnt a one-time case either, as I said before I wanted to keep trying with them but now I look back at how they would keep my car for over 8 hours just to do an oil change. REALLY? Jiffy lube and other places can do an oil change in 20 minutes. What is the hold up? This place needs to be avoided at all costs unless you want to just hand over your car and never see it again for a really long time. I will be reporting them to the Better Business Bureau and tell the New Tampa Newsletter to stop putting their ad in their flyer from now on...nobody should have to deal with this!
I had a great experience. #1 I always bring my car here for oil changes and am willing to pay a premium for the convenience and I just had my brakes done with pads and rotors in the front. They were honest enough to advise me to shop for the parts, then bring them in and have the installation done. I did that at Advanced Auto Parts and Cross Creek Auto svc installed in 1 hour and saved me $70.00. I appreciated the honesty and most importantly, I trust Ray, Jessica, and the staff of workers to always tell me the truth which is the most important thing that I value with any service/ mechanic provider. I used to live around the corner but now I drive a little to get there. There are also some cool restaurants right next door that I can always have coffee or a meal while I wait which makes it easy for my trip there. Thanks Ray and Jessica again for earning my trust! Good neighborhood service shop...I save a lot of money there - had my brakes, alternator, and powersteering pump replaced on my 2006 Acura TL (Bought it new in 06)...I really love my car and want another 5 years out of it...Ray is a nice guy and the work is done right the first time...
These guys are pure gentleman. Friendly, professional knowledgeable and trustworthy, everything you can ask for from your mechanic. I had a weird, one off sort of an issue in my Beamer. They worked on it relentlessly and for free because it was somewhat related to the part they replaced for me before. Even though the issue wasn’t directly related to the part they replaced they still honored the warranty and didn’t charge me a penny. Most other places would have given up on a weird issue like that and directed me to a BMW dealer. They won a customer for life.
Do not waste your time and money with this shop. They were careless several times with break replacement and battery change. The last incident that made me write this review is the battery again. A year and a half, battery is dead, called the shop to see what kind of warranty we have, and she, the woman on the phone, tells me I will have to wait a day or so to get an answer. AAA is waiting at my door to change the battery in case I do not have warranty. Good riddens with this shop! One of those smiley local shops that just sucks your good intentions.
DO NOT GO TO CROSS CREEK AUTO! They are SCAMMERS. We have been bringing both of our vehicles to them since we moved to this area. Always raved about how we loved them, and trusted them. I will skip over the fact we have spent thousands on a/c this, hose that.. Things at this point I dont even know were actually broken or not. But Saturday I brought my car in again (2011 Dodge Durango- perfect condition, barely any miles) for a routine oil change. About 500 miles before it was even due. They called me and told me the radiator was cracked, I needed a new thermometer, and refill of coolant. The cost would be $815 before tax... At this point I was pretty upset and told them every time I bring a car in, the bill is $1000. Told them I will pay for an oil change and take my car to the dealer. So today, the other car place we have always taken our vehicles to before moving here, called me and said, wanted to let you know the radiator isnt cracked, you dont need any thermometer, its not overheating, and we cannot find anything wrong with your vehicle at all. I am so disgusted that I have been lied to. I had more faith in society that people are honest and do the right thing. So disappointed.
I was working on replacing the AC compressor myself when I ran into an issue where I stripped one of the bolt. I tried everything but I just couldnt get it loose (due to limited space). I took it to Cross Creek Auto to have them do an evac. of the system and asked them to look at the stripped bolt. They gave me an estimate of an hour of labor which I was fine with. It ended up taking them 2 hours to get the bolt loose (they had to dropped the subframe) but they stuck to their original estimate of 1 hour. Overall, I was more than happy with their service.
I have changed my original review bc it isn’t my intention to hurt the business owner. Let’s just say, there is always room for improvement in any line of work.

So I drive Uber and need my car in tip top shape I call in and ask about getting my blower motor fixed and the resistor. They say they can do it bring it in. I come in fill out the papers and consider it a done deal right? no they come back out 15 minutes later telling me they cant and wont do it. because they have to cut out the blower motor with a exacto knife. and that this is why you dont make appointments over the phone he says. and for your Info whoever reads this its a 2005 Chevy Malibu maxx ls. by no means a difficult or hard to work on car. go elsewhere unless you want a run around and your time waisted.

Horrible customer service. I am in contact with an attorney.I took my car in to have the transmission pan replaced. When I picked the car up there was about six inches of water on the floor. My sun roof had been left open during the down pour we have in a Florida summer. I called to complain because my electrical system is shot. The car is dead in the driveway.I received no sympathy or offer of compensation from the owner...well, he kept saying Im sorry honey! then hung up on me. I paid $382. for a transmission pan repair and ended up with a useless scrap of metal I cant DRIVE due to his negligence. Save your money and go to a more professional ethical place. This auto shop is not worth your hard earned money--bad customer service.***I will refer to Cross Auto Creeks owner as Awww, Honey because I didnt get his real name, but also because this is the patronizing way I was addressed during our conversation.I have read Auto Creeks response to my review and will reply--1. I was the one who informed Awww, Honey about the coolant leak. I also told him that I would be willing to bring it back to let them repair the coolant leak.2. Yes, my car was in their open lot for a number of days while I awaited the funds to repair the car. Apparently, the sun roof was wide open and so was full of water when I picked it up. Its still drying out.3. No. It was not there a week. No. It did not take a week for me to contact Auto Creek about the damage to my car. It took a couple of days, because like most people I work. In fact I work seven days a week. I contacted Awww, honey when I finally had some time.4. Yes, I demanded compensation because Awww honey was negligent. I left my car in his care. He has a reasonable duty to make sure I get my vehicle back in functioning order, not WORSE than how I left it. Before I brought the car in it was drivable. Yes, I had to make sure coolant was added everyday, but now its not working at ALL. I paid $382.00 I cant get back.5. No, my car is not in the best working order BUT it is what I have to get back and forth to work. And just because my car isnt top of the line doesnt mean Awww honey can be neglectful. I brought him a vehicle that needed a specific repair, thats all. The fact that it had other problems is NOT the point!! Awww Honey!!!6. Awww Honey also told me to keep him abreast as to how my car situation would be resolved. Well, I will do JUST that. He will know exactly how this whole situation turns out, but so will ALL the customers and POTENTIAL customers who read this review...7. As of now, I will have to have it towed to another more reputable auto shop so they can run a diagnostic on it that will cost me $90.00 for them to just to tell me what I already know, but hey, Im one of those who hopes for the best, the car is most likely a TRASH HEAP now.8. What you need to remember Awww Honey, before you so callously hang up on your next customer, is that the pathetic work you do EFFECTS people. I was trying to get six more months out of the car so Id FINALLY be in a position to get into a new one. You have put me in a bad spot. So think about that next time someone brings their automobile to you. Oh, but youd have to have a moral compass for that! And you clearly dont.9. Im making monthly payments and auto insurance on a car I cant drive--that really sucks.
This shop appears to use classic scam techniques to increase the amount of services they can charge for. I brought my car in for a simple oil change and they reported the need for quite a bit of other maintenance. When I questioned the need for a new air filter and brakes (because I had done them recently) the manager, Ray, seemed to change his friendly attitude to be less friendly. When I asked them to show me where I had a brake fluid leak that they said needed to be fixed, Ray became aggressive. I asked to have my car back and took it to another mechanic two days later. The mechanic showed me how I clearly did not need new brakes or air filter, and could find no brake fluid leak. My car has had no leaks since. Stay away!
First of all let me start this review by saying Ray at Cross creek auto service is a stand up guy. I had to get my Mercedes towed to him. He told me he would do his best to find out and fix what was wrong with my car. Unfortunely I had to take the Mercedes to the dealership because of a software issue which Ray had already told me might happened due to the problem I was having. He did not charge me a dime for checking out my car and was very honest from the beginning and also told me told to call him with the diagnosis that the dealership gave me to make sure that they were not blowing smoke at me. Its hard to fing honest hard working people. In the future any problems or service needed on any of my cars Im going to Cross Creek Auto Service.
They are very unprofessional and do not stand by their work. They incorrectly did my tire rotation not realizing that my car has directional tires. When I brought it back to have it fixed a guy named Ray said he was the manager and that they would have to charge me to fix their mistake. They also tried to add on services when I first brought the car in saying that I needed to replace 2 tires. When I said that I should not have to pay for them to fix their mistake the Ray guy became rude. It was only when I said I would go to the better business bureau that they agreed to fix the problem and acted like they were doing me a favor. Do not go here especially if you do not know a lot about cars.
DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE!!!!I had my car towed to cross creek auto service due to my axel being broke and not being able to move I feel as if they over charged me but I just paid and was happy my car was fixed.A WEEK LATERMy car had to be towed there again because my “alternator broke” and I needed a new one and a replacement battery paid almost 750And the Once Again...A week and a half later I had to get my Air Condition Motor repaired which was over 500And about two weeks later I came In to check on my brakes because they were squeaking a little bit, they told me I needed all new brakes and rotors on front and backEven though I had just got new brakes and rotors less than 6 months agoThey told me it would be 700-800And they said rear was metal to metal it was urgent and front was almost metal to metal I said can I just do back for now they told me they do not do one or the other. They only do both front and rear at once. I said I would wait because I had just spent well over a thousand on last monthI drove home a week later to visit my family in another state and I went to my old mechanic who I actually bought my car from and trustAnd he told me my brakes and rotors were perfectly fine and I don’t even have brake pads on the rear of my car!!!!THEY ARE SCAMMERS AND OVERCHARGE.PLEASE DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE!!!!
Everything you want to avoid in car repair shop! I made an appt here for an oil change, when I showed up for my SCHEDULED oil change, I was told oh sorry, we cant do it do today, can you come back tomorrow? No phone call, nothing. A total waste of my time and morning. But, I am glad I didnt end up getting my oil changed here after the horror stories my neighbors have had with dealing with this business. Lying about repairs needed on their cars that when they took their car in somewhere else for a second opinion they were told absolutely nothing was wrong. Not to mention shotty work that has to be redone time and time again. This place is unprofessional and scammers!
I have given this company several opportunities to change my opinion of them, and they have failed each time. Yesterday was literally the proverbial straw on the camels back.I needed an oil change. I usually take the car to Jiffy Lube on Cross Creek, but that location is no longer open. I hesitate to take my car to Cross Creek Auto, as they have lied to me, tried to convince me into unnecessary repairs, and done shoddy work. However I felt that an oil change would be something harmless, and I needed it done quickly.I made an appointment for a Wednesday morning, however could not make it, so I called and rescheduled. Instead of the receptionist answering, the owner(?) answered and I had a feeling he didnt write any of my info down. He just said suuuure, come on in. Anytime after 10 is fine Didnt ask for my info, car details, nothing.So I head on in Friday morning for my anytime after 10am appointment to find out that they have an emergency repair. The receptionist said that she tried to get in touch with me (lie) but I could bring it in tomorrow, as long as it was early. Really? What kind of customer service is THAT? You make the customer dance to YOUR tune? I dont think so.I ended up taking it to Toyota of Tampa Bay on Fletcher. The only reason I didnt go there in the first place was because of the distance. However, having exhausted resources in New Tampa, and by the way, there are none - NONE that I could find online that had GOOD reviews. None. How sad is that?? I figured that if I had to drive a distance, so be it. Toyota of Tampa Bay has an excellent in-take procedure, a very comfortable client lounge, free wi-fi, and they are HONEST.Ive learned my lesson.
Cross Creek Auto helped me with my alternator on my Nissan, they fixed it the day I called them. No appointment just friendly service and quick.
