Came to get a low skin fade . Guy literally cut all my sides off! I described exactly how i wanted it and on top of that SHOWED HIM A PICTURE so he can get an idea. And what i got was far from it! Asked for a low NATURAL skin fade around the ears and this is what i got. First time here and MY LAST TIME HERE. On top of that he wanted to “fix it” as if he’s gonna put back my hair on my head.

I promise you this is the worst barbershop i have ever gone in to get a haircut completely rude staff/ owner besides that i had went there being new and felt unwanted there... i proceeded to tell james and his boyfriend what i wanted and he claimed he knew what he was doing rudely and completely messed up my hair i mean it was okay but edge was off nothing i asked for it was a waste of time and money sadly.

I am new to Tampa, so I searched for best barbers in Tampa: Elite came up on a Top-15 list and is located within walking distance of home...Unfortunately, I did not have a good experience at all: my haircut was awful... I throughly explained what I wanted and detailed for my barber the problems I have with my hair, including trouble spots like cow-licks and bushy spots: he did everything wrong. It was cut too short where it needed to be long, too long where it needed to be short, and left my hair completely unmanageable for the last month.Looking through the reviews, I see some good cuts, but this was not my experience- seems you need to go to the right person at the right time at this place, because clearly not everyone here is of the same caliber.

Changing barbers is always a trying process. Thankfully for several years these guys make it so I never have to consider it. I get a full cut and beard shave with Fernando and it’s perfect each time. A true perfectionist. Quick and precise. He’s been booked and had my haircut by the other guys in which they’re all masters in their craft.The foosball table is a nice touch for a kids and competitive adults as well. Completely new to the area and all i can say is this place is MY new barbershop of choice. First and foremost I got there about 30 minutes before close and James was ready to get me in his chair. From the greeting, to the chair and the conversation im impressed. These guys takes their craft seriously, and i know that because they can do a blade fade with a hard part like pros. I never write reviews, but this is the reason people go to the same barber for years and years. I was skeptical about going here because of some of the bad reviews and I wish I would have listened to them. First off the guy was super friendly as soon as I walked up, he was sitting outside and jumped up to greet me when he knew I needed a cut. I told him I wanted a two on sides and trimmed up top with the scissor, squared off in the back and I specifically said do not cut my beard or mustache. He insisted on tapering the back( I said no again I want it square) and he said it will really would blend better that way, so I agreed. he then asked to blend my sideburns and beard and I said I dont want it cut, just the hair, again he insisted so I said alright. Just blend a little so its even. he cuts the sides and starts to blend and I immediately notice he is going back and forth trimming my entire beard and then proceeds to trim my mustache. At this point it was too late to say anything so I let it be (not being able to see it) He tapered the back way too high. This guy knows how to cut hair one way, and only one way. Its all way too short. Then he tells me its $25, when the wall says $15 for a cut and says its a full shave and cut and since he did anything to my beard its full price. Which is why he pushed so hard to do the blending. Its just not what I asked for. Also they are cash only so be prepared for that.

If you are looking for a haircut that isn’t a buzz cut, I would not recommend this place. Could not do a fade correctly and did not seem to know what it was. Staff was nice and place was clean but the skills were insufficient.

No joke this place has the greatest barbers within a 1,000 miles. Very nice, polite, and they have the cleanest cuts. For someone who needs to get a haircut once a week it can get expensive, but these guys charge only $12. The pictures on the website do no justice. Perfect fade and straight blade cut. Went as a first-timer, but Ive found my regular spot for as long as Im in Tampa.Elite Barber is a great spot to go in for anything from a tight edge-up, a close shave, to a full-on cut. I particularly like how they finish everything with a straight razor. I hadnt gotten the straight finish until I came to this shop. As I sat in the barbers chair, a few more customers came in one by one and theyd be greeted by their first name-- which is always a sign of good businessmen.The cuts are detailed, but quick, and the waiting area is relaxed with comfy couches and plenty of seating for watching TV or chatting it up with the barbers. Ill definitely be going back to Elite Barber and will be recommending my friends to do follow suit. Great business!

I’ve been living in the Tampa area for 10 years and after trying several barber shops around I found the right place to get my haircut, Elite Barber Shop. Regardless of been way out of my route to work, I drive an additional 40 minutes because I know I won’t just get a cut, I will get the right cut. What I like about this place is that it is always clean, spacious, and organized; James and the crew are professionals, always display great attitude, very meticulous and talented. Sure you have read many reviews but after many disappointments at other shops I have to say that I will not go anywhere but here. If you need to schedule an appointment outside of normal business hours they will work with you, just ask. I have always walked out very satisfied with the results. Give it a try.

Most professional barbershop in the Bay hands down. Ive been a returning customer for years, and every time each my experience is better than the last. The hours are very flexible and sometimes theyve helped me out by staying for a last minute cut. The guys can make any cut you could possibly fathom and on point! Very clean establishment with an even cleaner cut.

Love this place. Its close to me (as are many others) and easy to pop in for a quick cut. The guys in here know whats up. I hit many barbers in the area before I found a home in this place. They can do most any cut/style, you always get a blade shave cleanup when theyre done trimming and you walk out fresh and a new man. Did I mention they only charge $12 for a haircut? Seriously, I would pay $16-18 for a cut here. People know and love this place...so pick an odd time or youll have a little bit of a wait, just like any other place.

Went today. Cant remember the name of my barber - he was in the 2nd chair closest to the window. the first chair is vacant right now.I have to say he did a great job. I got a nice and tight graduated fade that is disconnect at the top and left some length.It was perfect graduated and blended - the way I like it.It seemed like everybody else in the shop was getting good cuts too.Thumbs up for this place - hard to find a decent barber in this area that understand clippers and style.

Every time I walk into the Barber shop I am greeted by my first name. The conversation is always good and makes for a great atmosphere even while you wait your turn. They also have a few tvs that makes it entertaining. I have been going for three years now and wouldnt even consider going to another Barber shop.Id rather let my hair grow than go to another place.

While I would never judge someone elses opinion no matter how wrong they are, you really have to take a step back sometimes and take a look around before leaving a negative review. If all the previous ratings are 5 stars and the reviews are outstanding about the barbers, why would you be the ONE person to leave a bad review? James and the other barbers are the type that if you have an issue (which I have NEVER seen happen), they will fix it on the spot. I have been going to them for years and never once had a bad haircut or seen one person leave there disappointed. The reason I feel I need to post this is due to the fact that the ONE person leaving a negative review, has left nothing but negative reviews for other businesses, which leads me to believe that person will never have a positive experience no matter what. Worse haircut and service I ever received from a so called Elite Barbershop. I went to this barbershop after being recommend by a friend. After being seated, I asked the short Asian barber for a medium fade with a #1 on top. Once he started, I quickly noticed that my hair was cut down to a half and not a #1 as originally asked. Next the barber started to tape the front of my hair which turned out to be a nightmare. Not only was my tape crooked but he pushed my tape so far back I looked as if I had the forehead of Wayne Brady. After looking in the mirror in disbelief because I thought this was some type of joke I asked if could he straighten my tape. He then instructed me to tilt my head down and look up into the mirror saying look now its straight. Disappointed as I was I decided to just let him bald my head which he cautioned against because he didnt see anything wrong with my haircut. After my head was completely bald the scheduled client that was waiting decided to leave saying he had a unscheduled meeting to attended which pissed the barber off even more. Im sure that waiting client saw how terrible this barber really was and decided to run while he still had a chance before being butchered. Once my bald head was completed the barber became very rude saying it was my fault and he gave me what I wanted which I couldnt believe. I informed him, I didnt know I wanted a bad haircut. He then said, maybe I should try another barber or better yet I should go to another barbershop. This guy is obviously not a real licensed barber and more of a circus clown that experiments on peoples hair. If you dont want you hair I would recommend this barbershop otherwise go elsewhere. This place should be called Elite Garbageshop!

Toddrick gives me better cuts and styles than I ask for. My wife loves how I look after Im done. The price cant be beat and I almost never have to wait. I would recommend Elite and Toddrick to all of my friends. Keep up the good work!

Shop was nice. Employees were friendly enough. However, I have an issue with the haircut and how it came about. I asked for A medium fade, a little bit off of the top and blended into the beard. What I got instead was a high n tight, skin tight, with no blending into my beard what-so-ever. When I say skin tight I mean he shaved every bit of the sides and back of my head with a straight razor without ever asking me if thats what I wanted. On someone else this might have looked fine but I have a pale scalp with a very noticeable birthmark on the back that looks awful when shaved. All he had to do was stop speaking Spanish with his co-workers for one second and ASK me if I wanted it skin tight. Instead I left with his version of what I wanted that in no way reflected what I actually wanted. Disappointed and never returning.

James always does a good job cutting the few pieces of hair I have left and the experience is always enjoyable.Parking can be tricky at times but that is really the only issue I can think of. They have 2 TVs to keep you entertained, music, restroom and magazines if you get bored.CASH only so keep that in mind! My haircut runs $12...pretty much costs me a dollar per strand of hair I have left!! :)

Worst service ever. The whole time the person cutting my hair spent huffing and puffing with impatience. He offered to “fix” my eyebrows and then shortened the whole brows causing me to look half way to Whoopi Goldberg. I had to go again the same day to get it cut the way I want and ended up being charged again. I payed $40 in total for an easy haircut that I was showing the video on step by step guide on how to but because he still didn’t pay attention to what I was saying he cut it wrong again. Never again. My advice to those who work there, if you don’t like your job then find another job. Don’t take your attitude out on your customers.

Hated it. The worst. The worst hair cut my boy has ever had by a white dude with tattoos. Didnt get his name thats why Im describing him in hope to save whoever read this review. Do not take the risk. Unless you want to get out of there without hair!My boy got there with a big afro and we chose hair cut #27. They have a big poster with different choices. I specifically ask him to cut half, HALF because he didnt like it too short were my exact words. Apparently this guy doesnt know what half of something is and cut all of my boy hair off. It looks NOTHING like the picture. What is the point then to offer choices with pictures on it if they dont know how to do it right!?! I expressed my dissatisfaction and they excuse themselves by saying they asked my boy if it was ok and he said yes, so he obviously ignore what I requested. My boy is super shy and he barely open his mouth to say nothing. I was so upset I cried and every time I look at him I feel like crying again. He now only wants to wear a hat hoping that his hair grows before he has to start school again. Im sure anybody will understand what this mean for a teenager. Anybody but them. they didnt even care and still charge me for the awful job. What a way to keep their customers!I will never go back but I will make sure everybody I know and run into knows about this. I will not forget.

Ive been getting my hair cut at Elite since 2005. I have never left unhappy. I get my hair cut the way i want and the barbers there pay attention and take their time. I like the price and make special trips just to be sure that Elite is who cuts my hair. I cant trust anyone else. I read a review of someone who was disappointed with the cut he received and all i can say is that in the middle of a cut if you need to stop them to clarify anything...just speak up. One thing that may help someone that has never been there before is to show them a picture of something you want...they can definately repeat what they see in a picture. Looking forward to my next cut at Elite. Thanks for 7 years guys.

This barber totally screwed up my hair!What I *used* to have: classic tapered haircut, top was about 5 inches long, sides and bottom were perfectly blended/tapered down to a 1 and a half. It had been a month since my last cut so everything was starting to look shaggy and scruffy.What I asked for: just a trim, with the sides and bottom blended down to a 1 and a half. TaperedWhat I got: the only part trimmed were my bangs, about 4 inches long. But he he cut the top shorter and shorter in clearly visible sections! not only is that exactly not a trim, he didnt even bother to blend the screwup! The middle top of my head no more than 2.5 inches now, and the section just behind is just under 2. Its clearly visible where those two sections are.I didnt notice until i got home because he had laid everything down with gel to hide it. So essentially he gave me a medium-high fade but kept my bangs intact. He Didnt ask for feedback during the cut, had me facing away from.the mirror the entire time.Absolutely unacceptable and amateur. Back to square 1

I been coming to this shop since 2005 and have always had great service and cuts. I seen some negative reviews but want to promote how many great reviews this shop has. I normally wouldnt do this but I was witness to a situation today that I felt was wrong so I felt it is my place to defend the shop and barber. He asked for his edge to be pushed back and the barber advised against it. He didnt like it so he wasnt charged for the cut. The barber was very polite and offered the service of a different barber next time. As far as a client leaving, this is one of the regulars who always has meetings and often stops by for cuts and leaves if the shop is busy. I am always happy with my cut, all of the barbers have cut my hair and they all do an excellent job. As far as the service the shop, it is always friendly, relaxing and a clean atmoshere. Too bad people who dont know what they want blame others and not own up to their own decsions or mistakes. This customer was rude and showed no respect. Elite barbershop is the best shop with Great barbers and I highly recommend it. Dont let one bad review pursuade you for not trying this shop.
