I could share my entire story about the half dead looking dumpster kitty I called Animal Control on... But I would rather tell you about how this amazing place helped me get proper vet care and save the life of a sweet kitten we just adopted. Because she was a stray rescue, she was completely vetted free of charge! She is sick and going to need extra care, weekly vet checks and daily medicine for her first few weeks. But ALL of that was provided to me free of charge. They also gave me food, carrier and even a pop-up cage that will allow her plenty of space while she is quarantined. They will spay and microchip her when she is old enough. The facility is beautiful and clean. Its very inviting. The staff is AMAZING and SUPPORTIVE. I called to report a kitten in the dumpster that I just didnt want to see die, and thanks to Animal Control and Pet Resource Center, I am fostering to adopt a beautiful baby girl kitten.. so incredibly GRATEFUL!

Wasn’t sure what to expect walking up, we didn’t have an appointment but they got us right in and treated us so well the entire time. They answered all of our questions and thankfully suggested our baby we ended up taking home. We were blessed to find the sweetest guy ever here. I prefer the way things are being done versus before COVID, this way I can meet a few animals im interested in and not have to feel so bad about all of the babies I’m passing and not taking home with me. Awesome staff who really care about the animals. They were accommodating, easy to navigate and we fostered this cutie for 2 weeks. Recommended for anyone looking for a dog or cat.

Ive gotten 3 fur babies from here. 2 of which are mine and the 3rd I was able to rehome. I got my cat Tigger here during a free adoption event when he was 2 months old and then I got my dog Nova here when she was found with 8 other siblings in a box on the side of the road at 2 months old as well. I got Omega from here when she was a year old and a pregnant stray hiding under a car for some shade. The staff is very friendly and helpful and the animals you adopt come spayed/neutered and vaccinated as well.

I found 2 baby kittens that were under someones car and was able to find the owners of the car. They were able to pull the little kittens out and i kept them over night caring for them. They next morning i set up an appointment to take the kittens to the shelter were they can get the help they needed because they were only 2 weeks old and was unable to eat on there own. I feel in love with the 2 kittens and wish i would of been able to keep them. So i finally took them to the shelter and the staff were very helpful and i explained to them how i found and recused the little kittens and the staff were understanding and very helpful and took them inn and im very grateful that now the little kittens will get a chance to be cared for and soon adopted to a very good and loving home.All though i still think of them and miss them very much i know i did the right thing for them im glad i was there to have found them and bring them justice.

Its a good place but charge way to much to release a dog completely vetted to go to a good home.

I had a very good experience and even though I wasnt ready to adopt I was still allowed to visit with two dogs that stole my heart. Please anyone who sees this choose adoption vs buying from a pet store. Those cute puppies most likely came from a puppy mill.

Terrible service not like it used to be. How do they expect you to get a good feeling about an animal that you may adopt if you cant see them in their environment. The computer is going to ruin the good work they are trying to do. Good luck

I have adopted all of my rescues from here except for one. Even with Covid, theyve adjusted their processes to facilitate adoption. They do their best to diagnose and treat pups before adopting them out. 10/10

We adopted a little boy terrier that has heart worms. We knew that from the start. Ive been to PRC every day this week with concerns. The staff there A-NO.1. Extremely knowledgeable and helpful. I know that with their help, together we will get this little guy well. Thanks to all the staff for their support!!!

I adopted a cat from here named Ollie and I had such a positive experience. Everyone is so friendly and helpful especially to someone like me whos never owned any type of pet other than a fish. They gave me great advice as well as informed about how to make my him comfortable in his new environment. At my visit pet adoptions were free at the time which included all vaccines and microchipping. If youre someone whos interested in adopting a new fur baby I highly recommend this place.

Back at the end of January, my boyfriend and I adopted this wonderful pup named Riley. When we got there they informed us of his behavioral issues and we knew he would be a challenge but he has come very far already! I’m so happy to have this goofy dog in my life and to be able to give him his furever home! He also loves the water and gets to go to the beach almost every weekend!

Dropped off a cat I rescued off the side of i-4, and its nice to know whether or not they find this sweethearts family (she turned out to have a microchip), shell be well taken care of and find a good home because of this shelter 💜Service was fast, the staff is always super nice, and you get to see cute animals whenever you stop by. Whats not to love?

Found this little guy in Seffner/Brandon area and tried to find a place for him and I spoke to a representative that told me he was going to connect me to someone to set an appointment was then put on hold for over 30 minutes! I hung up and then called back to speak to another representative only to find out they’re closed for the day!

I made an appointment with The Pet Resource Center in November. We fell in love with a rotweiller mix name Chloe. We went in on 11-06-20 and we were greeted by the officer. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. The center was clean and the pets were all well taken care of. Chloe was spayed, microchipped, had her shots and the adoption fees were waived due to COVID. Please go and adopt a pet there are so many that need homes.

I literally spoke to someone on the phone the day before and they said I can just walk in to look at cats. I drove an hour this morning to the center and they tell me a I need an appointment. I called to see if I can get one and there’s none available and they said they can’t help me. First and last time here. Go with the humane society.

Facility was short staffed and they still were speedy and friendly. Despite many cats in the main room for adoption, it was cleanly and smelled clean. Bring your mask as staff stands outside to screen visitors before unlocking the door to let you in.

This was the worst experience of my life I took my 1 month old kitten in for them to help me find a home because I wasnt able to keep her per my land ladies request. I had an appointment for 4 and was informed that I would receive a call letting me know when I could bring her in, and there was no call placed. I decided to take her up there anyway and finally got someone to help me. Jason said I was late and because it was the end of the day and they probably couldn’t find a rescue for her that night they probably would have to put her to sleep. After arguing with Jason who had a attitude from the beginning. finally a young lady came in and said that one of the staff member was doing foster care for the night and they would find her a rescue the following day. For a person in which this was my first time ever rescuing an animal it hurt really bad to know that she would be murdered all because I couldn’t keep her anymore this was the one of my worst experiences ever and I would not recommend them at all…

I just adopted a fantastic dog from the shelter. Their covid protocols are a little much which is the only reason they didnt get a 5th star.

A very pleasant experience from beginning to end! We adopted our dog today and the process was very simple. They have the cats in the front when you walk in. They each had their own space and the staff does a wonderful job keeping them clean. If you want to look at a dog you need to go online and make an appointment. They dont take walk-ins at this time.

What a great place to find that perfect lifelong Friend, the Furry kind that is. All sorts of Dogs and Cats are available for Adoption and the volunteers are so nice to tell you all about each and every animal available. Then you can eve take the pet out to play in several different cages in Yards for meet and Greets. A clean and definitely Caring facility that helps get pets into homes through community Involvement. I have adopted 2 dogs within the past year. One is an older dog and the other is a husky that is epiliptic. Although, they were not completely truthful about the severity of his epilipsy I have a great vet that put him on a high dosage of phenobarbital that has worked great. I have a total of 3 dogs and all are happy and healthy!

We love sarge and I think he already knows he found the right home with us . Sarge is exactly what are family needed .

They were understanding an accomodating. They even told me that I could check on my fur babies well being until they got a new forever family. I was crying an they were compassionate to my unbearable situation that I couldnt control.

Yesterday I volunteered here for the first time. They have a program where volunteers and staff can come in and help socialize the dogs and cats to get them ready for adoption. This is a great thing for two reasons in my mind. One, the animals get out of their cages. Two, this means that the team at the shelter have been interacting with the pet you are about to adopt and actually know the pets - thus if there was a difficult animal they would know and there would be documentation in their profile. Additionally, when someone is looking for something specific in a pet that works for them, the staff can often make recommendations. What a plus for everyone. I have been to pounds in several different states during my life. This one is clean, the staff i have spoken to were knowledgeable and the pound had a large selection of both dogs and cats. Below are two of the dogs that i got to know. There was another one named Fosil I wish i had gotten a picture.

The staff are wonderful they have went out of there way to help us when our bully had a hurt leg and we needed help with medical needs and medicine for him.

If youve done your research, know what type of dog you want Hillsborough County Pet Resource Center is a great option. We submitted our email to pre-adopt, picked a visit time and meet with the main handler who was amazing. They will give honest feedback if the dog would be a good fit. It was a painless experience and no silly questions and high demands that most rescue groups ask of you. Be patient with your search and you will find a great dog here.

This place is taking care of pets since long and it has great plans for adoptions and volunteerings.The place is clean and easy to navigate through. I went there as a volunteer couple of times and both the times i had so much fun. They make sure that the pets are well fed and are going out to play as scheduled. We came home with Leo. Hes a wonderful sweet 2 yr old 14lb kitty. Me and my grandson David is crazy about him. Nice place to get a pet. My cat is missing and went to check found cats. They helped by setting a flyer to their site, wrote down cats Ive already seen and showed me that their Adopt site is updated hourly. They were amazing by answering or discussing all my questions and concerns. Thank you Pet Resource Center.

The handlers there were amazing. They offered additional resources to help with training my pup. I did not adopt.. I was able to foster and extend the foster. It gave me and my family time to get to know our pup and take care of him properly. He was a bit much for us. But was adopted a day later after returning him. The associates didnt make me feel bad about returning him. They reached out to offer any assistance that we needed to help and gave me additional options to continue on with their services. All of the animals there are well taken care of and they give as much info as they can on medical history/treatments. Great job guys!

Great experience finding our new furbaby and adopting him! He had been there a month and his kennel card made him seem like the perfect dog. Good with people, good with CATS!!! He seemed to good to be true! Well after a few days he was ready to come home. We have 3 small kiddos and a 13 year old cat. I was nervous. I kept my guard up, but this dog is everything his kennel card said! He wants to kiss and love on everyone, he wants to be friends with my old crabby kitty and doesnt react when she growls and boops his nose. Hes a giant teddy bear! We love him so much.

Abandoned liter of newborn kittens were found in my yard. They took them in and got them vetted and placed with a foster. So happy with their dedication at this facility.

Found the love of my life there! Great place to find your next pet. Please look for those who have been there the longest, and who are in jeopardy. The staff can show you how to read the kennel papers, and you can also look online. Bless those that work there and volunteer.

I can not believe how excellent and well I was treated by the staff there including the police officers that work there to keep the place safe. One of my dogs managed to scape from the house at.night and someone found him less than half a block from my house and was taken to blue pearl a vet clinic who had my dog for a while and then turned it to the pet rescue. I found my dog thanks to their web page were it was posted as found. When I went to pick up my dog I was afraid that I was going to be treated like if I had abandoned my dog on the road and therefore will be investigated. This was not the case my dog had already been seeing and treated by their vet. A chip was put on my dog in case it gets lost, a rabbies vaccine, a.flea pill and more had been administered to my dog. I thought I will have to pay for all the services provided but to my surprise it was free of charge and I was made feel loved and treated with lots of respect. Thank you to all the staff that works there saving all different types of pets and I urge anyone who is undecided on where to donate money for a cause. The hillsborough county pet resource is a good place. I know as soon as my finances get better I will donate to them. Thank you for all they did and do for different people who need a pet or have lost one. I know Im happy and my kids are happy too to have our dog back in our home just like many others.

Very friendly and helpful people here. Our dog got out and was picked up due to neighbors calling animal control. We went to pick him up expecting to pay a fine or something but we didnt have to pay anything. They even gave him his tags and shots at no charge.

The Tuesday volunteers were so kind helping me decide if I could offer the right home for a slightly special needs (recent hip surgery) dog. Since I was worried about interactions with the cat I was able to do a foster prior to adopting. Within 4 hours everyone knew this cutie was not going back ever.

I found a new fur baby. A 10 week old kitty that I named Jasmine. the staff were very helpful with all the information I needed to know. I found my new baby probably 5 minutes after I got in there. I got to sit and visit with her first, we clicked immediately. she started purring within seconds of me holding her. Shes a real beauty, very friendly and loving. There are more dogs and cats all needing a good home. It was very easy to do to. Love my kitty!! 😍❤️

We met our oet and brought her home the same day. We were expecting to pay but due to covid, they told us they are waiving all the fees. We are so happy with our new addition.
