Our AC quit working. We called our usual service guy and he stated we needed a whole new system and gave us a quote. Not wanting to only consider one quote, we called Locke’s. Harold quoted 5% lower for the exact same system and installed a wireless digital thermostat that is compatible with Alexa also. His quote was quick and in writing. He had the unit in stock and installed it the very next day. He was extremely thorough and professional. I was thrilled with this service and will use Locke’s from this point on.
Harold and Luis did a fantastic job with the installation. Harold also took the time to answer all of our questions. The price for a Trane was fantastic and lower than five other quotes . They diligently cleaned our handler closet and also reworked the drain line and out pipe. Laura was also great in sending over the quotes accurately and fast. We will gladly use Harold and team for regular maintenance in the future and refer them out to our family and friends!

Ive had a hard time finding a good and reputable company to come out and work on my AC systems. After being scammed, ripped off, and had my units damaged further by multiple companies in the area, I vowed to no longer use home warranty companies and get multiple quotes on my units until I found a company I trusted. Im beyond happy that I found Lockes!!! Theyve done a couple fixes on both of my units now and Im certain Ive found my forever company as long as they remain in business and I live in the area. After the awful experiences I have been through, it was a breathe of fresh air to find a company (Lockes) that actually cares about its customers and isnt trying to push for bigger and more expensive fixes. After getting bids from other companies, Ive had the same repair rep come out both times from Lockes and they gave me the final bid I end up going with. Theyve consistently come in lower than the other companies, havent been pushy, and have gone above and beyond to fix my units. The last time they were out they secured a part that another company put in incorrectly at no charge while working on another issue. I couldnt recommend a company any higher or more than I recommend Lockes and Ive been through several AC companies in the area. I finally feel like I can trust my AC company again.

Noticed for a couple days that our AC was struggling to maintain the set cooling temperature and took longer than normal to cool the inside air. Thinking it may be time for maintenance on a unit only a few years old, I contacted Locke’s on a Friday to schedule an appointment. Saturday, Locke’s sent Jeremy to troubleshoot and diagnose. I could not have asked for a more professional and dedicated technician. For the next 5 hours, Jeremy made sure to troubleshoot every issue to nail down the culprit to avoid unnecessary maintenance and or repair. Unfortunately the parts needed could not be obtained and replaced by Jeremy until the following Tuesday, so we went without AC for couple days. Fortunately the weather was cooler for those days. When Jeremy returned for the repair, he stayed until he was certain that all diagnostic readings were within optimal performance ranges, not just satisfactory, and explained the readings and system in a way a lay person can understand and perform self maintenance for longevity and care. Regarding the costs, fortunately the unit/parts are still covered by warranty but the cost of labor, refrigerant, etc were less than what I thought given the time put in by Locke’s team. I am happy to have set up a biannual maintenance program with Locke’s to keep my system running great for many years.

Very satisfied with their work. The company I work for has used them for annual a/c maintenance for years so I figured I would call them for a quote on a new system at my house. They presented me with several different options I could choose from. I had an extremely positive experience with Lockes AC from the moment I called and requested an appointment. I received same day service, and exceptional communication directly over the phone and through text with updates. Harold was my service tech and was very courteous of my time and respectful of my home. He took the time to best explain what the issue was, how he was going to fix it and hopefully prevent reoccurring issues. I had a unpleasant experience with this company to say the least. They had to come to my house 3 times in the last year and half due to an incompetent technician whom didnt do their job properly the first 2 times. And now my a/c is having issues and they had another technician diagnosis it and they said the part was defective from the manufacturer however since Im no longer in warranty I would have to pay for a new part and labor. I spent a lot of money with this company to resolve the issue the first and second time due to the incompetent technician and now I have to come out of pocket again for something that is the manufacturer fault for selling a defective part. I would never recommend this company to anyone and if I could would rate it a zero.
I took off of work to be home and planned to be into work as soon as the technician was done working on the AC. I was informed the Tech would be at my house between 8 and 9. Shortly after 9 I called because no one had shown up. I was then informed it would be between 10 and 12. I told Laura that I had to work today. She asked what time, not considering I had been sitting at home waiting on them since 8am. I told her I really had to be in by noon. She asked me what my drive time was and I told her 30 minutes. She said someone would be out and that I was second on their list for the day. As I type this, it is 11:30. I did receive a text that a Tech was on the way but it gave no estimated time of arrival. I have been a long time customer and when Harold Locke Sr retired, the quality, customer service and commitment has reached a one star rating. There was no consideration given to me, they did not value my time at all.
Pawns in a system. They work with Hudson Homes management and from February to now, mid June, they still can’t fix an AC system. It’s not totally their fault, they have some idea of what the issue might be and Hudson Homes wont authorize real fixes. But they lie, over and over and over for them.One of the jobs they did they decided to leave fiberglass around the house, i found a Snapple bottle on my toolbox in the garage, and some ductwork they decided not to trash.Their idea of a working system is no lower than 76 in February. It’s “not possible”. We must be from out of state. I’ve lived in Tampa my whole life and this is the hottest house I’ve ever lived in.Most days are 81 degrees with 78% humidity in the house and they can’t fix it. Oppressive.

Lockes AC once again has been great to deal with. They do what they say they are going to do and are out to keep you as a long term customer. The two most important things for me are, are they going to be there AFTER the install AND can I get a good price! It is VERY hard to find both! So many companies try to get you while they can and upsell you with extras you dont need-- and after the install they become a different company to deal with. I was able to easily schedule an appointment for same-day service. I was notified via txt of when the technician was en route which was awesome! Robert arrived ahead of the expected service window and knew exactly what the problem was. He explained what he was doing and solved my a/c problems quickly. We had a leak coming from the inside air conditioner and the technician came out and cleaned our coils and flushed out our drainline. The technician was so courteous and professional. I also referred my mom to Lockes ac and they gave her a really good deal on a new Trane system for $2100 cheaper than the other companies that quoted her the year before.
We just had a condenser fan motor go out, on our 4 ton central AC unit. Another company wanted over $1200 for the motor alone, which can be bought retail for about $130. We politely declined. That evening, we called Lockes and the technician (Lester) was out the next morning. Lester is a really nice guy and explained what he was doing, as he worked. It took him just a few minutes to make sure the wiring and capacitor were still good, check the coolant level, and replace the motor. The total was $325, which was quite a bit less than we thought it would be. Were now cool and happy. Thanks, Lockes...and thank you as well, Lester. Five stars. We purchased a complete, installed A/C unit from Lockes Expert & Quality AC. After 2 years, the fan motor failed. They stuck to their warrantee; they were here the next business day. Replaced the motor, and honored their warrantee. The service was wonderful. I was impressed.
Middle of summer is the worst time to lose your A/C and on a weekend.. I called several places and all wanted 99$+ just to walk into the door. I talked to Harold Locke Jr. and it ends up he lives right down the block from me. He agreed to waive the service fee because of the proximity but couldnt fit me until first thing next morning.So, we spent one mildly uncomfortable night without air but after a few pounds of freon, a little cleaning, and a few hours later my unit was back up and running. Since my unit is about 8 years old and is out of warranty he recommended signing up for their service plan which includes two visits and a free pound of freon each trip for 75$. With the brutal Florida heat preventative maintenance is a must to avoid any huge $$ repairs.They are a family owned and operated business with many years experience. Harold Jr. was very respectful and courteous. Also a very attentive apprentice was at his side taking notes and helping with the job made this process quick and painless. I could have had immediate satisfaction and paid for same day service but paid 30-40% more. Not saying he couldnt do same day service but this being middle of August summer all reputable A/C companies are very busy.Overall I highly recommend this company, family owned, local, friendly, and great pricing.

I called Expert & Quality Service AC to do an annual service on my relatively new AC unit. The company I originally hired was out of business. I was so impressed with Harold and his assistant. They spent more time in my home than anyone ever has. They vacuumed the drain, cleaned the coils, charged the freon, trimmed the bushes from the outside unit and even put ant powder inside the unit to keep bugs off the electrical components. I have never seen a more conscientious and perfectionist type service person before. I immediately hired him to service the AC at my rental property and I didnt even go there (because i usually dont trust anybody and want to watch everything). Each time he charged my $75. That is the best value I have received in years. I absolutely recommend Expert & Quality AC to everyone i know who has issues with their AC.

Lockes Expert and Quality Service is a locally owned family business with a level of service that reflects the traditional small business. The technician who came to our home was efficient and personable. He had 17 years of experience working with A/C systems. During his time at our home he cleaned our system inside and outside, check the individual components to give us a good bill of health and gave us pointers to correctly position our ceiling ducts to ensure better flow and efficiency. I am happy with the competitive pricing on their preventative maintenance plan. They offer a wide range of services at a fair price that I am confident will insure our system keeps running through the hottest summer days. This is the third AC company we have used to conduct preventative maintenance and the one in which we are most satisfied with.

Call them to get them to take care of a permit so I can sell my home and no one answers the phone at office and you think your leaving a message but not sure. No one can even call me back to say yes or no it is taken care. They allowed it to lapses. Not my fault. Maybe when people see this theyll do something.

Not only did Lockes Air Conditioning Company save me $745 for my new A/C unit, they also included and installed a free ultra violet mold control light kit for my system. The technician that was in charge of the install was very professional and highly knowledgeable with making sure my wife knew how to operate the new wifi thermostat with her Ipad & cell phone. We now are happy that we choose your company instead of the other company that was gonna charge us more and didnt include the extras. I have used Expert and Qualty Service for multiple years now, and they have always been the most honest and affordable options available.I recently had Expert and Quality Service come to my home to check out one of my units that was underperforming, and not doing a good job of cooling the 2nd story of my home. Lester came to the house and did a fantastic job in identifying the issue causing my outside unit to ice up. He resolved the issue expeditiously, and for a fair a reasonable price.The specific experience I had that sold me on always using them was when I had called another well advertised local AC company to my house due to issues with the heating during winter, right after my daughter was born. The other company said that the unit was bad and needed to have a part replaced that was $3000, and that I shouldn’t waste my time and should just replace the entire thing for $7000+. After paying their $75 trip fee I told them to kick rocks as it was obvious they didn’t have my best interest in mind. Expert Quality and Service came out after and identified that it was just a bad thermostat which was then replaced, which obviously was much cheaper than the previously quoted prices.Plain and simple this has been in my experience an honest, hard working, and fantastic company to work with. I personally refer them to any friends and family in need of HVAC assistance.
A few days ago...I live in a townhome. These so called a/c experts were working on a foreclosed property beside me and took/stole my outside unit. While, it was an easy mistake, how could they not go through tests to make sure they are taking the right unit? I contacted the company and the manager immediately replaced my outside unit with a new one....however, he lied to me and told me that it is compatible with my inside unit. I even asked a couple of times. When I got to work, I inquired with our A/C maintenance guy and he said they are not compatible because my older unit (10 years) was running on old freon. He said I will have problems with it in the summer...higher utility bills because the inside unit will be working double to process the new freon....more condensation...etc. There mistake is going to cost me money, so, their is no way I should have to pay for a new inside unit.When I contacted the company 2-3 times I spoke with the manager and he said I should have to pay part of it because my inside unit is old....my response is why is that, my inside unit could have last 5-10 more years. Then the only thing he would say is we will get you right...I ended the call at that each time thinking they would contact me to get things right, however, they are ghosting me. 2 days ago I even left a voice mail asking the OWNER to call me to work this out....same ghosting.I gave them a bad review on facebook...the company gets mad at the bad reviews.....I get home today, and they are taking back the outside unit and replacing it with my old unit. How do I know it is not damaged from all the moving and they chunking it in their van. It could stop working in a day...week...or hour....I will be stuck paying for their mistake. I told them I didnt want the old unit back from the start. I sent this to TV station 8 on your side.Horrible service and no EXPERTS are here...if so, they would have at least contacted me and try to work something out. I guess my next option is lawyer or TV network.

I was really impressed with the service provided by the technician Harold Jr. that came out to our home on the weekend, when the other companies that we called wanted us to pay a ridiculous weekend fee or wait for Monday. A previous company that my dad had a ac maintenace contract for his home came out to mines friday after we got off work and said our compressor had burnt out & gave us a quote for a $6,500 system, but Harold was able to get my compressor started with a booster & saved us a bunch of money. Thanks again, I will be referring my friends & family to get your preventative maintenance service also! :-)
Another save by the Locke family at Expert & Quality Service AC. I had a client doing an inspection on a home with a broken AC system. Harold came out and diagnosed it quickly and we had it replaced immediately for my buyer. thanks Harold.

I have always been worried about who to call for AC service given the stories and reviews Ive read about AC companies. I found Lockes Expert & Quality Svc on Angies List and I will never call anyone else for my AC needs. Basically my inside system would come on but would only get clicking from outside unit. I had already checked fuses prior to calling.The tech showed up with in the time window I was given and within a few minutes figured out what the issue was (bad capacitor). Replaced and added some freon, cleaned off the outside coils, sucked out the drain all in about 45 min or so. Awesome tech (believe his name was Alvino), very polite and knowledgable. Price was around what I expected it to be.
Staff was professional and on time. Would definitely use again.

The technician came out and within a 3-5 minutes was telling me I needed a completely new unit. He started off asking if I am thr home owner. Why should that matter? Just give me the quote for the repair. At first he showed md what was wrong (which I had told them when I called what the problem is and I told him the problem). Then he said he needed to go out to his truck to write the quote. Then he looked at the coils and told me those needed cleaned and the unit only had about a year left. I told him that I wasnt going to get a new unit and just wanted the price to fix what was wrong. He said at least $400. I repeated that back to him then he said at least $500. When I pointed out he went up he said well its going to be 463 to get this fixed. In a matter of minutes he went from needing to go to his truck to get how much it would be to a very exact figure. Very unprofessional. Crooked company
