My two girls started about six months and I have seen so much progress from both of them. And the teachers are just amazing, my kids love them. Whenever you need help they are always there for you. My youngest child was always great at writing but now its just amazing. Her grammar and creativity have improved so much for a sixth grader! We are just so thankful that we found this program!

My two kids started Kumon a year ago and I see big improvement in them for math and reading. I believe education for the kids its like building a house which has to have a strong foundation. Kumon is the best choice for them to achieve that goal. Having extra homework is not always easy for kids at the early age, but it teaches children to challenge themselves and never give up which is another valuable lesson. Maria, Gorge and all the Kumon tutors are very responsible and encouraging. The pandemic has been a challenge for everyone including our lovely children. Maria and Gorge has always put the childrens safety first, like wearing masks in the center, checking the childrens temperature and hand sanitizing before enter the center. I totally feel safe for the kids to be in the Kumon center twice a week for the practice. I am glad I signed my kids up for Kumon. Its totally worth it!

Kumon has systems in place to help any child wherever they may be in their learning journey. Personally for our family it has helped instill discipline, confidence and given my child the necessary tools to take him from a 1st grade reading level to a third grade reading level in a matter of a few months. My daughter, who was a second-grade in 2015, has studied math at Kumon. My son in second-grade has also been learning math and reading at Kumon since 2019. Kumon systemically helps students understand the principles of mathematics, and significantly contributes to developing students sense of mathematics. As far as I know, Kumon is one of the most systematic and scientific learning programs that spread beyond Japan and Korea to the world.

The Kumon system is excellent, and this particular center and its instructors are as well. They pay close attention to each child’s progress, use a clear methodology to guide children thdrough the system, are always happy to explain the process in detail, and wholeheartedly welcome feedback along the way. I have zero complaints. They also navigated the Covid—19 crisis quite well with virtual sessions and contact-free packet exchanges.It is important to understand that Kumon is not school, or is it tutoring. Kumon is its own methodology aimed at very gradually building up fundamental skills in math and reading using daily worksheets and two in-studio (or virtual) sessions per week. It has nothing to do with school grade level or school work, although there will not surprisingly be some carryover between the two.The objective is to very narrowly focus on core skills at a child’s “just right” level so that they can very gradually increase their facility with a given subject. For most parents, the first few months will seem too easy; that’s by design and it’s also made abundantly clear from the very first moment of orientation. Little by little though, the process creates a nice progression toward and beyond grade level.Thus far, I highly recommend the program, this center, and these instructors.

I been taking my daughter to this location for almost a year and she had improved 4 grade level since.The staffs are very professional and knowledgeable. They thought her time management and independently working. I highly recommended this kuman math and reading center.

Our daughter has been attending Kumon since she was about to start kindergarten and now she is going to 2nd grade. Kumon has greatly improved her math and reading skills and she is above her grade level. I appreciate the fact that Kumon helps develop each child’s ability to work independently and instills values such as discipline and commitment in them. Through daily worksheets and once or twice a week in person (or virtual with Covid-19 ) monitoring and feedback, students are able to acquire and sharpen skills through repetition and gradual progression through the kumon curriculum. The owners and assistants are very professional and work well with kids. I highly recommend Kumon Tallahassee to Pre K-12 parents in the area.

This a great place for mentoring your kids. Also, both the staff and the managers are very friendly and knowledgeable. In particular, they are able to follow up with each child individually and help them towards their learning process.

I as a parent being at My mom has been a success in my sons life. It definitely has enhanced his skills in Math and Reading. He has made made major improvement. Kumon had a significant impact on my granddaughters reading proficiency. She started out two to three grades behind and left at her current grade level. It is a well developed disciplined approach to improving a childs reading ability with positive reenforcement for achievement and not judgmental if progress occasionally slips, but encouraging..

Definitely appreciated the time & effort put forth in making sure not only my child but all children are priority & that the process is understood.

Excellent place for kids to learn. The process is not to push the kids to learn agressively but for them to have fun and enjoy learning. My kids love it and so far they have grown academic wise.

Love my kids going to Kumon. My 9 year old started in 2014 both subject reading and math and she is still doing Kumon and I see lot of improvement. She is doing Operations with fractions for 6th grade and she just started 4th grade :) Always ahead of her class and that’s the best thing. Even in reading she is doing Paragraph-building skill block.I am really happy with Kumon and started my 5 year old, 6 months ago reading and math he is really happy with it. He is in Kindergarten and doing addition in math and reading small sentences in reading :)

In less than a year at Kumon my daughter has gained more confidence in reading and her proficiency has improved.

My sister has been going to Kumon for over a year now. And her reading and math has improved dramatically. She is getting As and Bs in both subject. Kumon has thought her how to do her work independently and in a timely matter.

Kumon Learning Center of Tallahassee...Firstly they dont respect children, if we ask them about something they blame it on children...if she/he does some mistakes they will say she/he is not doing it correctly, if she/he does everything right..they will say writing is not good,...if she/he writes neatly..she/he is not doing it on time she/he is 2mins late than the set timings...they dont respect even parents...they are so intelligent in throwing blame at parents......and kids.....they dont teach anything they just sit there and watch period. The parents have to teach everything they will just provide the booklets and if you want to discontinue for some reason they said that your kid has to start all over again and take the test and start below grade level though she/he has finished 2 levels more in the same center.....

The new owners are truly passionate about their work and go above and beyond to help their students acquire academic skills. While the individual practice sessions may not be inherently fun for the learner research in many domains has shown that it is exactly these difficult, repetitive, and less pleasant deliberate practice sessions that lead to expertise. Other reviews mention the atmosphere however, I would question if the space was brightly decorated and distracting to the students. To the untrained eye, the sessions could appear as if instructors are not interacting or teaching anything but the program is systematically designed and regularly tested to maximize skill acquisition and learning. The other less than positive comment mentioned the pricing however I invite you to consider not only contact time with clients but also the time required to grade assignments, provide feedback, track individual results and interface with families, not to mention implementing a reward system that keeps children motivated and focused. From a budgeting perspective, my husband and I easily changes things around after we reframed the cost question to put a price on what it will cost our children if they do not acquire mastery in reading and math. After this is was very easy to adjusting our budget so the future success of our children was a priority. I have had the pleasure of knowing the owners personally and professionally since my days at FSU but most importantly as a client I can truly say I am delighted to give Kumon Math and Reading Center of Tallahassee my highest recommendation!
