Mary, who owns the salon has years of experience and is a great stylist and colorist. This is an Aveda salon, so the products used and available for sale are excellent too. I would definitely recommend this salon.

My wife has been coming to your Salon for 2 years always happy until today she asked for a brighter red and her hair is now dark brown her stylist has changed 3 times and she was okay with that but she is very unhappy with her dark brown hair and is looking for another Aveda Salon in Tallahassee

I got a partial foil with Millie last week. She did an excellent job and took the time to understand exactly what I was looking for. She wore a mask, face shield, and gloves. I felt very comfortable and like the salon was taking precautions to keep everyone safe and healthy. I will definitely be returning once Im back in the Tallahassee area!

I have been going to Mary for 30 years. I have naturally curly hair and she’s the only one I found in town who understood how to cut and style it. Mary knows her stuff. Regardless of your hair type, you’ll be in expert hands. I wouldn’t go to anyone else!

Very warm down to earth hair salon. Everyone is friendly even amongst the clients. Like it used to be years ago. Mary does a fabulous job with color. A bit pricey but you get what you pay for....

If you need anything go see Millie. A miracle worker with color/cut/style. She listened to what I wanted and made it happen. Its been a few weeks now and Im really enjoying my hair cut and am able to do the same at home as in the salon. That makes all the difference. Thank You Millie!!

I never write reviews. Ive actually never written one before but I feel the need to because I just cant help but feel absolutely annoyed by what happened. Dont get me wrong, Millie, the stylist who cut my hair was awesome! She was very attentive and would ask specific questions about my hair to get me just what I wanted. It was the receptionist who is honestly the only factor that may stop me from coming back. I had called to make an appointment and I made it very clear that I had never been there before and that I would like to use their $20 off coupon for first time guests. She told me okay and asked if I had a stylist in mind and I told her no because I didnt know who worked there. After telling me that using the $20 off coupon would be okay, she then assigned me to Millie. I go in and after my haircut, she tells me its $35. I know you have to spend a minimum of $40 in order to use the coupon, and she should have known that since she works there!! So, as shes telling me how much I owe, I said, so could I use the coupon for next time since I couldnt use it this time? She tells me no because its only for first time guests... Well, I couldnt use it because SHE assigned me to someone that wasnt $40 in the first place. I dont think its right that Im paying for her mistake. I just feel absolutely wronged by it. I loved Millies work and I would love to come back but for not getting an apology for the receptionist messing up or trying to compensate/make up for it, Im not sure now. Millie, the hair stylist was amazing but that experience really put me off.

I was looking for an Aveda Salon that wasnt clear across town and came upon Athens. I only go in for bang trims and ask for Sarah every time because she did my bangs perfect the first time I came. Everyone there is always pleasant when I go, sometimes they have Aveda freebies which are always a nice surprise.

Millie is never aloud to change careers or move or leave me for any reason! She is fantastic and the atmosphere is wonderful. Love getting my beauty needs taken care of at Athena Salon!

Athena was recommended to me by a neighbor and after explaining to the person who answered the phone that I needed a hair cut repair, I was matched with Sarah. OMG! I went from very long hair three months ago to a short style and Ive struggled ever since. My last hair cut was a DISASTER. Sarah not only fixed it, but it styles instantly now. No more struggling with products and time to make it look decent. It falls into place. I am so, so pleased!

Gave it a star only to be able to post this. Received a gift certificate for Christmas. The owner, Mary, refused to honor it. She said the certificate that I held in my hand had been used. Dishonest business. I had heard stories about her dishonesty, but this is totally convinced me to try other Aveda salons.

Its the first time someone actually did exactly what I wanted. I explained and they delivered. Youd think that would be the norm at any place, but its not. Kadi is amazing! And everyone seems like they genuinely want to be ther and make people happy. Love love love this place.

Millie has been cutting my hair for the last few years and Ive loved the way shes cut my hair. However, the last time I went in I got my hair hair colored. I wanted brown (my natural color) and purple balayage. Millie applied the purple die over all of my hair which turned my hair red. I expressed that I was unhappy and they wouldnt even fix it at a discounted price when in reality it should have been fixed free of charge since I paid $220 for that cut and color and it wasnt even what I wanted. Be aware that if they make a mistake youll pay to fix it.

I am new in town and chose them due to the great reviews. When I called to make an appointment, I was greeted enthusiastically and she accomodate my requested the same day ! My stylist took time with me... Asked me what I wanted..my hair looks amazing!!! Aveda products are amazing too,

Loula deserves a raise

Most stylists Ive gone to usually wash, cut then dry my hair. The stylist I had wash, dried then cut my hair, which I found weird. I didnt like the style at all and it is the same kinda style Ive been getting for the past 5 years. Also the stylist was somewhat condescending when she was questioning me about the products and giving me a lecture on how the hair products I used were bad just so I would buy their products. In the end, the overall cut was cheap but I was not satisfied with the way my hair came out or how they consistently tried to sucker me into buy products.

Sarah did an amazing job on my hair. Such a great experience.

Owner Mary cut and styled the hair of three generations in our family this week, and were all absolutely delighted. This is a beautiful and welcoming salon that I highly recommend.

Kadi did an awesome job with my curly hair. Im always afraid to let someone cut my hair but she calmed me down and walked me through every step.

I had my hair cut here. The stylist that cut it doesnt work here anymore. The salon was ok, but the owner was rude. It turned me off to where I didnt want to come back. I wouldnt recommend coming here or working here, I know some things and all I can say is its a shame for the people who have to quit and find another salon to work at bc the owner creates drama. Unfortunate situation... But on the bright side, there are tons of great salons here in our lovely community.

Never go here! Completely horrible establishment, they treats the customers badly and their employees! All I can say is trust mean this place is awful the reviews may have you fooled but not me.
