I wouldnt be here today if it wasnt for Dr. D and his staff. Im blessed to be a patient of theirs for the last two years.
I received excellent outpatient treatment for years and the staff were always respectful and kind.
I hate this place with a passion. the staff is extremely rude and handled me violently when i was having a panic attack, and afterwards put me on anti-psychotic medication for having a literal panic attack. Dr. knight diagnosed me with bipolar disorder after talking to me for an hour, which, if you know anything ab mental health, you should know never to do that. when i was inpatient i was told multiple times that i would be let out but wasn’t until a week later. please do not go there if you can help it.
I walked in to inquire on the price of a walk-in as I was just coming down from an anxiety attack. A woman absentmindedly said $200 never looking away from her computer or inquiring about my insurance. I said I couldnt afford that today and tried to leave. The doors were locked and I asked if they could buzz me out. They said no. I asked why and they told me I HAD to see a doctor(I wasnt crying or anything, I was literally just taking a walk by the building and stopped by). I told them no, thats not what I want to do since I cant afford it. The woman said that wasnt her problem. I had to call the police and have an officer speak with this woman at reception to let me out. The dark, concrete waiting room is depressing, the staff is cruel, the company is all about their money. They would have held me against my will for $200. Whatever happened to Do No Harm?
Staff is great and truly care about the individual.
Horrible!! Waited in waiting room for 9 hours 2 consecutive days... PLEASE do not go to this place!! I simply walked out after waiting the second day. If you have mental health issues and live in Tallahassee.. go to another city! Capital Health Plan insurance had a strong grip on health services here and it can be beyond non acceptable
If I could give it zero stars I would. Myself and several close friends have been in this facility as patients and have all agreed that it is not a good facility. When I was there about 6 months ago, it was a train wreck. The office was dark, depressing, and dingy, reminiscent of a gas station bathroom. The nurses seemed to have almost no caring, and didnt seem to really know what they were doing. If you are looking to scare yourself out of committing suicide through alienation and loneliness, it might work, but all they accomplished was to make me want to escape. Within 5 minutes I was planning ways to get out because it was so awful. There was absolutely no one to talk to and nothing at all to do for basically the whole time. I wish they would show some more caring for the well being of their patients. When I go to get help, Id rather not want to kill my self worse, which this facility basically did
My child went here after trying to commit suicide and the nurses made her feel even worse than she did when she came in. after she tried to take her own life because of a childhood trauma that my husband and i knew nothing about up until recently and she was diagnosed with ptsd from said trauma. upon hearing about what triggered her to do such a thing, the nurses said “is that it??” as if that didn’t mean anything and completely invalidated her feelings after she tried to take her own life? as if she didn’t feel bad enough already. definitely do not recommend!!!!!!!!
On God I hate this place. It feels like im in jail. Old white lady doctor is mean. I mean they are caring. Just feels like im in jail. I never want to come here again for depression. They try to keep you forever. Bathroom suck. I had a clear bug in my shower ugh!
I am very thankful for the staff at Tallahassee Memorial Behavorial center. Very kind and went above and beyond. God bless you all
My daughter had 2 professionals at this location. Things were going great until the therapist became an Administrator. She was going to help us find someone to find her replacement. I have left 2 messages for her and heard nothing. If the people in charge of the center cant follow up on their commitment, what is going to become of this center? Im very frustrated.
I am giving this facility a ONE star only because there is NOTHING LESS. A family member has been seeing a well known doctor at this facility for 20 plus years. We visited yesterday and were told to return today, 8/21/19 to have her admitted. Due to a one hour time zone difference, we arrived 4 minutes late. A nurse named Sedona REFUSED TO OPEN the door and let her in and basically said TOUGH LUCK, you are FOUR MINUTES LATE. This is after driving for over 3 hours. You can BELIEVE that my husband will do everything within his power to complain to the director of the facility. Is this REALLY a HEALTHCARE, with the emphasis on CARE FACILITY? P A T H E T I C - I would NOT EVER EVER EVER recommend anyone go their for treatment. Youre better off going to your dentist, youll be treated MUCH BETTER. ABSOLUTE BS.
Never been incarcerated but now I have a good idea. If you are looking for a loving environment,a place of encouragement and support this isnt it.
The BHC legitimately makes Shutter Island look like a paradise of progressive and wholesome mental healthcare. Unless youve completely run out of options, please do not go here.
Not happy at all. I was supposed to be a new patient with TMH behavioral health center. My appointment was cancelled with only one day’s notice and they told me they would not be able to see me until a month later. Totally unacceptable especially when I have prescriptions that need to be filled. I do not think I will become I patient with this facility.
Unlike Blax, one of your many several dissatisfied reviewers, I have been incarcerated. In places much better than this place. Your facility, which is intended to help people who generally are at a very low point in their life, does anything but. Where did your HR Department find the people, the Professionals, the scholars with an education in psychiatry? Your Behavioral Unit is nothing more than a for profit jail, run by (for the most part) sub-human beings that are more interested in what time they are going to clock out and go home. I over heard employees talking about patients, revealing patients medical issues aloud no matter who was in ear shot...use foul language about particular patients, and even plotted on giving a patient medication that he was not ordered to receive...just to shut him up.This Behavioral Unit needs to be investigated by the State Attorney Office, and the FBI...as well as the other medical agencies that govern all hospitals. In closing, I would like to pre-warn any and all people who are considering on taking your loved one to this Behavioral Unit--to take your loved one elsewhere. Your loved one will not receive caring professional help at this place. These people are not professionals, and it would not surprise me in the least to hear that this place has been permanently closed due to law suits, and/or they are all in jail. All of the nurses present a very negative attitude, especially if you are requesting to speak to one. They are rude, they lie when you complain to a superior. They do not care about you or the reason that you are there one iota. They play amongst themselves, and talk about everything and anything. Ive heard them talking about sex, seen them slam a telephone down and then curse about the person whom they have been talking with on the phone. I was told: shut up, maybe when I get around to it did you ever fall on your head or were you born this way ?. Medications are never given on time, even when I was starting to withdraw and in pain the nurse whom I compelled to stop and listen to me said Im busy Chances are you will not die, you act like your problems are my fault. And then if you verbally lash back to the rude comment you are nefariously reported as a trouble maker, and then their game gets worse. At that juncture your medical record is altered with false information...aggressive patient relentless complainer ect. Then the doctor, who is rarely seen, comes to talk to you about YOUR aggressive behavior, etc. That is how your limited time with the doctor starts. The doctor doesnt start talking to you about what brought you to their jail, but rather your behavior with the nurse. If you attempt to explain the situation you can obviously see from the doctors demeanor that you are not believed, or the doctor tells you that is hard to believe. It is a never ending cycle of mental/physical torture, and you will come out of that place feeling worse than when you went in. Any former patient who reads this should contact every entity that they can think of and lodge a complaint with each one. Eventually, if enough patients or patients families file enough complaints this place will either be shut down, or, every single person fired and REAL CARING PROFESSIONALS hired to replace the fired and jailed ones.I ask that the top administrators of the main hospital to set up surveillance cameras, video and audio, as well as the local state, city and Federal law enforcement agencies. Every word written within is true.
Terrible. Not caring at all for the intake or in medical records. Very harsh.Nurse and social worker were kind and helpful.
Going here was the worst experience of my whole life do not recommend
I was cutting and when I got sent away there I never did it since and I loved the doctor there she helped a lot and I spent six to eight days there
What kind of hospital has an answering machine for four different numbers that says we are unable to answer your call at this time without any other options for someone to speak to?
