I took my brand new pair boots there to remove the steel toe from the boots and I could have bought another pair shoes for that price he charged now when I pick them up I cant put my feet in them theyre to little because the shoes have no toes now. Im very disappointed 160.00 gone down the drain.

Mr. Steve (the owner of Dons Shoe Repair) was the hero of my shoe life. When I initially called him to check the services he provided, I instantly fell in love with his personality and decided to give him a try. He did not disappoint! Even though his shop was flooded with shoes and even an airplane to repair, he took the precious time to fit me in and actually made me a priority. I expressed to him that I had a birthday coming up and he got 4 of my most prized shoes done within 2 days! He also gave me a birthday gift!!! I will not be going to anyone near or far, unless its Steve from Dons. Hes the best in Tallahassee, hands down! You wont regret your experience!

This was my first time here and it was a very pleasant experience. Mr Don is very nice and personable. I left two pair of shoes with him and will pick them up at a later date; so I cant comment on his work yet but I will later.

A strap on my like new leather wedge sandals broke right at the side of my foot and I really did not think they could be repaired. I am so glad I brought them here! They fixed the broken strap with a very discreet matching piece of elastic and also did the same on the other foot. They look and feel great. It cost $23.11 which is reasonable to me for: quality craftsmanship, not having to throw out a favorite and like new pair of shoes and investing in fellow local business owners. I definitely recommend Don’s shoe repair.

I would not give any stars if I had the option. I dropped off a pair of shoes to have a simple strap sewn back on. I was not told a price and the attendant didn’t write my name down, but gave me a ticket and told me they would be ready 6 days later. He apologized for the long repair time, but I didn’t mind. The problem was when I went to pick up the shoes on the day promised, Don couldn’t find them and asked me to come back later. I came back an hour and a half later and was told the work hadn’t been done yet, to come back later. I came back a third time three hours later (because he told me to come back after they closed at noon) and the strap had finally been sewn on and I was stuck with a $15 bill. The man will not do any work for less than $13.75 plus tax no matter what the repair is. I was insulted he even charged me at all after not having the repair done when promised. He didn’t even apologize for not having the shoes ready the first two times on the day promised. I definitely will never give him my business again. I have had much better service and prices (fair prices and items ready when promised) at Capital Shoe Fixery and plan to take any future repairs there.

Nothing has ever made me feel more adult that taking my shoes to Don for the first time. Filing taxes, buying a home, getting married all failed when compared to how I felt the day I decided *not* to thrown out a worn paid or shoes but to have them repaired. All jokes aside, my repair was done quickly and competently. It saved me money, kept me from creating more unnecessary waste and it kept a favorite pair of shoes on my feet a whole lot longer. A year later, my soles are still on my boots. But I was unimpressed with how they looked, pieces of rubber that werent trimmed and what looks like a void between the sole and boot. Also, other discussed work wasnt completed on the pick up date, but was only charged for the sole...

A real craftsman.

Needed one high heel repair, not an appropriate small dog chew toy. There were four tooth marks and the bottom of the heel that is normally nailed on was pulled out. Not major damage. Handed them one shoe and they asked for the other so they can cut down both heels to match the height. CUT BOTH heels OFF. Yyyyeah, that was not an acceptable solution. Needless to say my single shoe is being fixed elsewhere and the new repair guy is going to put filler in the tiny but deep indentions. Smooth it out and tap a new heel cap in place.

What a cool shop!! Very friendly place!! Stopped by just to get a get an extra hole punched in my cheap leather belt and he blessed me with Three holes for nothing!! Thanks Steve!! Again, loved your shop!!Rob

Took shoes in to have lift installed. Made 5 trips. Lots of excuses and finally got them. So screwed up, had to toss them

If I could leave zero stars, I would. First, the employee couldnt find my shoes and had no idea where there were. Then, he found one pair which had been minimally repaired... when he finally located the second pair, he told me it hadnt yet been cleaned. So I waited, even though they had been there the entire week to be cleaned. Then, he realized he was supposed to have re-heeled them which also was not done. He wanted to keep them another week, I said no thanks.

I could am pretty sure this is the only shoe repair place in Tallahassee. They do good work but are not inexpensive.

I will not be returning to Dons. The shoe repair that was promised kept being delayed for no apparent reason. Once I received the shoes, I was disappointed by the lack of quality of the repair. I will need to find someone else to repair the repair.Not sure why there are so many positive reviews, when my experience was awful.

They fixed my favorite 5 heels that my dog destroyed. The owner went out and purchased modeling paint to make the heel look right. I am very pleased with their work.. This was the 4th pair that my dog ate and the third one they were able to fix. The other one was a fabric that they couldnt replace and told me so up front. I am gateful to them

Long time customers and have been happy w/ service and repairs. If something has not been quite right, it is always taken care of w/o a problem.

I took my work boots here for repair. They resoled them and a week later the sole came off. I took them back and they resoled them again. Now, a few months later the soles are coming off again. Customer service is poor as the owner put off resoling my shoes the second time for weeks and when I pressed him about it he said Call and remind me. Unacceptable. I think Ill see if I can just get a refund rather than a third subpar resoling of my boots. Dont get these folks to resole shoes you wear a lot.

He kept my boots for twice as long (if not longer) as he originally stated and I had to go in about 4 different times because he kept saying no come in on x-day. and they still wouldnt be ready.I am not planning to go back. Waste of time and gas.Though the boots turned out well, so there is that.
