After a previous unfavorable experience with a different staff, I recently found myself in a situation where I needed to revisit Allied for my sick puppy on the weekend in the middle of the night. I was scared to death. I cannot tell you how relieved I was when this team took the best care of her and quickly got us in and gave reasonable, affordable and kind hearted care to my 5 month old puppy who suddenly fell ill.
I took my very pregnant dog there because she was bitten by one of my other dogs. The vet checked her wound and said it did not go through to the puppies. Did x-ray and ultra sound said puppies were ok. Gave me a script for antibiotics. The next day she acted fine. That evening she started to act and breath funny. She died before I could get her back to the emergency clinic. Front staff and tech was great. I question the doctors knowledge. Owner of the practice never returned my call.
I was told At 7: 45 pm the wait time would be an hour and a half. Before I would be assigned to a room. Once assigned to that room I was told the way it would be an additional hour. When the nurse finally came in I told her that I was upset about the wait. she told me in a Very rude and demeaning tone “ This is an emergency hospital. Your wait could be up to 6 hours”. I told her I was just off of work and I had not eaten anything and that I wasn’t expecting the wait to be that long. I will come back tomorrow. She told me basically not to come back tomorrow because they would still be busy. When I asked for the owners number because he had given me on a previous occasion they said they couldn’t give it to me. The receptionist said the rude nurses name was Angel. Our pets are like family. The very least we should expect from people who We pay and trust to take care of them is common courtesy and respect. The Experience made me feel discriminated against as I was the only African American during this time frame and no one else was spoken to in this way! It 10 pm and I’m home with my sick pet and loss of my time. I am not able to get in anywhere else because they were referring to Allied. This is not my first time visiting this facility. I have 3 pets. My previous experiences were better. Shame on you “Angel” !You were anything but!!!
On 8/28/21 my elderly dog started having seizures after a steady decline in his quality of life. It was time to let him go 😭. Allied emergency staff were so compassionate and gentle with my big boy. A heartfelt thank you to Allied Veterinarian Emergency. RIP Meaty❤
We had such a wonderful experience with Allied Vet during one of our most difficult times. Dr. Potter was very thorough, compassionate, and informative. His staff were always so friendly as well! I highly recommend Allied Vet for all your emergency needs!
Took my dog in because she was having seizures back to back. Went over her medical history and once they heard she had another issue that my vet had already started treatment for they wanted to run a bunch of tests. They were not concerned about the seizures, in fact never mentioned it again until I did and then said “oh that’s right we didn’t even discuss that, she should be fine dogs have seizures all the time”. I knew then we needed to leave.
Dr Potter and his staff do an excellent job. They are so friendly and it’s obvious how compassionate everyone is for animals. He saved my little puppy and I’m so grateful for that. Thank you!!
Mitch and his staff were wonderful to our two kittens when I brought them in to be spayed and neutered. They loved on my fur babies and explained everything throughly. Thank you for taking great care of our babies Allied!
Allied Vet and Dr. Potter are amazing. When our puppy was bit by a snake we went straight to see Dr. Potter. Dr. Potter and his staff made us feel at home, he was caring and compassionate and took care of our sweet Molly!
My 10 week old puppy started throwing up out of nowhere. Rushed in on a busy Sunday afternoon and the wait time was only 45, just as they said. All the staff were EXTREMELY nice and just as concerned about my baby as I was. The facility was spotless and smelled clean. They took all precautions to ensure no other dogs came in contact with mine and vice versa. The vet came in and explained everything that was going on and answered all our questions. So thankful for Allied and their amazing team. My baby is happy and healthy at home because of them.
FACE MASK ISSUE: My cat has been admitted for an overnight stay for diabetes and possible urinary tract infection. The medical staff seem competent and compassionate. I will have more to say when we see how the treatment works when we get her tomorrow. Of course, veterinary care is expensive. We are looking at over $1,100 for the blood work, urinalysis, estimate for the IV line, catheter, overnight stay, etc. Im not complaining. I do know vet school is very expensive and I respect the expertise. I know its also a very stressful job.My negative: The young woman at the front desk would not cover her nose. I told her we were already anxious about our cat, and we are in the at-risk range (older) so could she please cover her nose so we didnt have to worry about that, as well. Instead of doing so, she argued back. She said she has allergies. I know many people who have allergies and asthma and wear masks. I said I didnt want to be at risk from the virus and she said she doesnt have it. My question: how would she know? She could be asymptomatic but have it. Even a negative test doesnt mean that you dont have it, but could just mean that the virus hasnt reached discernible levels yet or it could be a false negative. I really didnt appreciate her, at all.Unfortunately, the woman at the front desk tarnished the overall experience. I was already nervous and she just gave me one more thing to worry about.I did tell Dr. Mathers and he said he would tell the owner. He did agree she should wear a mask, but I guess hes not her boss.
My experience with the vets at Allied are that they are very knowledgeable and compassionate. They have cared for my dogs on numerous occasions from eye infections to stomach issues. I recommend Allied without hesitation.
We have not been regular clients here, however on a very unfortunate evening when our family dog experienced a medical emergency, they were available and answered immediately when we called. They were even waiting on us when we arrived and provided compassionate care when we had to make the most difficult decision any loving pet owner will ever face.
I had to take my dog there after we thought she swallowed something metallic. Friendly staff. The woman who helped our dog was very informed, caring, and generous with her time; she also provided a great deal of general useful info for dog owners.
Worst place to take dog unless pet is TRULY dying!!!!! Charged me $160 and don’t even care to look at my dogs wound. Didn’t unwrap bandage or anything. Thankfully gave me antibiotics and pain meds for my dog to start immediately but sooo disappointed in the Vet. The technician was a sweetheart and truly cares about the animals but can’t say the same about Vet. I know they were overwhelmed but shouldn’t charge exam fee for only walking in room and giving RX. Plus waited almost 4 hours for just the RX. Will never go back unless I think my dog is actually dying 😭
Rushed a dog to them and the dog passed on arrival. Asked them to give a diagnosis and they say heat stroke. I ask how if the dog has been in a AC building. Instead of giving any insight or hypothesis the vet gets super rude and snobby and says the dog had to be outside in the sun when we informed her it wasn’t. Definitely unprofessional. Horrible experience.
Amazing Patient Care, the best medical staff I am grateful for all there care and kindness. I would recommend them for there outstanding staff.
We’ve previously had good experiences here. I was disappointed to see that none of the staff and most of the clients in the lobby were unmasked. Florida is #2 for covid infections in the U.S. primarily due to idiots and we have immunocompromised family so we chose to take our dog home after two hours of waiting - before she could be evaluated - and hope monitoring will be sufficient. Not worth sitting two hours in a lobby stuffed with unmasked people when there is a risk of serious complications should exposure to covid occur. Disappointing to see a place that focuses on evidence-based care ignoring basic precautions in their public spaces. Our local vet wears masks but they are not open today.
I greatly appreciate the care shown to my personal animals over the years, as well as foster animals in the care of the Leon County Humane Society (LCHS). LCHS accepts a great number of sick, injured, and senior animals, and the staff at Allied see several of our foster animals every month. The staff at Allied treat foster pets no differently than other clients, and as a nonprofit, we appreciate Allied helping us to make the visits affordable. Rescue is a team effort and we appreciate Allied Veterinary Emergency Hospital partnering with LCHS to assure our foster pets receive quality care at any hour.
This place is garbage. Spent hundreds of dollars to have my sick dog seen by vet peterson, only to do nothing for 5 minutes, give antibiotics and never find out the problem. Went to a local vet when they reopened and found my dog had worms, when this place said she didnt. You are risking your dogs life if you go to this place, vets and staff are incompetent.
I brought my 11 week old puppy Harlie in because she was diagnosed with Parvo. The Vets and the techs who worked on her always communicated and reassured me it was not my fault. They nursed my baby back to Health and she is now home back active! 10/10
DO NOT TAKE YOUR ANIMAL HERE!!!! My moms dachshund was bit by a rattlesnake twice and she rushed him to allied at 10pm. He stayed over night and the vet called the next morning and said the antivenom was working and the dog was doing good. 2 hours later they called and asked if they could perform CPR on him and that it would be $700. Needless to say the dog died. Instead of them performing CPR they called to make sure she could pay the $700.00. We have filed a complaint with the Veterinary Licensing Board and have contacted a lawyer. These people are all about the money and show absolutely no remorse. If i could rate them a zero i would. I WILL BE PURSUING THIS TO HAVE THEM SHUT DOWN!! The vets last name was MATHERS. Do not take your animal here!!!
Some reviews are so hard to write. Thank you so much Allied for helping us take care of our best friend when he passed. I was so upset I dont even know who helped us. You all were so gentle and so kind. I recommend this place if you happen to need their services for any reason. They give veterinarians a really good name.
I am so grateful to Dr. Laura Clayton at Allied. My puppy Juni bumped into the couch and collapsed, unable to walk, and he ended up being diagnosed by her with an AA subluxation. She saved his life!Previously, we had taken Juni to other vets for his symptoms of hind leg weakness and unstable walk, including a neurologist, and no one ever did a neck xray. Dr. Clayton was so patient when explaining and re-explaining what she believed was going on to my husband who couldnt believe we finally had a diagnosis for Juni after months of suffering. They have knowledgable vets!! We trust them.
I came because my dog was severely sick. He threw up 5x in 30 minutes but was not seen because he was not considered an urgent case. When I entered the receptionist was very rude and short. My main concern is my dog and not your attitude so I did not address it. I had to keep requesting a new cone for my dog as he was recovering from a surgery but ruined his previous cone due to illness and has a habit to bother his sutures if not properly geared. Lastly, while I waited at the “emergency” hospital my dog was not checked meanwhile it was only myself and one other individual there for their pet. I am upset because I trusted them with the care of my dog. I now have to search for another place for him to be cared for.
In the past week I’ve had 2 of my pups cared for here at Allied Vet Emergency. The staff was exceptional with communication and treatment from Frank needing sutures of a laceration to Tuck needing orthopedic surgery. Tuck made Shawn, surgical tech, his person. Even after a long 19+ hour work shift Shawn aided and treated Tuck as if he was his own!Mason, Shawn, & Dr. Clayton(I know there were many others that had a hand in caring for both of my guys) were excellent & I can firmly state that I’m very happy with their treatment! Highly recommend!!
My little dog filled up on sand and ice cream Easter weekend and a blockage formed, so off to the ER we went. The blockage was pretty impressive. The staff at Allied were very professional, caring, compassionate, and kind. They answered all my questions and encouraged me to call anytime day or night to check on my little Shirley. They took excellent care of her and I would highly recommend them!!! Thank you, Allied!!
My almost 7 year old kitty disappeared after over 9 inches of rain last Saturday, she was gone until Thursday afternoon around 3pm. She was in obvious distress when I found her, I took her to my local vet immediately, she was extremely sick and severely anemic. I was referred to Allied for her to receive a blood transfusion. She was in their care for less than two hours before she passed away. I picked up her remains and brought her home. Their staff was courteous and kind, until the next day, today, when one of their staff called me to check on her condition. It hadnt been noted in her chart that she passed away. I was extremely offended. How unprofessional! I am devastated, and infuriated. I will never use their services again.
Took my dog Oakley who is pregnant there and they are just loving people and the love they show to our fur baby. Beyond happy with our visits there and staff super friendly❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Our Jake had received serious injuries when he was attacked by another dog. The entire staff was great. They were sympathetic towards my wife and I and kept us well informed. Jake’s surgery went well and they got him up and about much quicker than we expected. Thank you for the excellent care you gave Jake!
The services here were wonderful as we had to say an unexpectedly sudden goodbye to our very old and close family member, Snowball. Cierra was so understanding and kind in helping us all to get ready, and Dr. Clayton was very professional and sensitive in helping Snowball pass as peacefully as possible. Allied made it as bearable as possible, and we greatly appreciate them for it. Thank you all in what was otherwise an extremely difficult night for us. We also received the nicest condolence card signed by the staff, and it has meant a great deal to us.
Thank you ❣ so very much for taking great care of Jazzy, it is such a blessing to have a great facility to take care of our service dog when the need arises.
DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET TO ALLIED VETERINARIAN EMERGENCY CLINIC IN TALLAHASSEE, FL !!!!This past Friday night July 2, 2021 my dachshund was bit by a rattlesnake. I called Allied and told the receptionist I would be bringing my dachshund bc of a snake bite. When I arrived, they took me and my dachshund to an empty room where we sat there for 40 minutes. My dachshund’s head was swelling. He was in a lot of pain and shock. They finally came in with a treatment plan and told me the price they were going to charge me for treatment, which was $1,529.64. After they discussed the payment and I paid, they finally took my baby to the back for treatment. MY BABY SAT THERE 40 MINUTES IN PAIN BEFORE THEY EVEN TOOK HIM TO START TREATMENT (if they really treated him). There was only one person sitting in the waiting room. They were not busy. And as everyone knows, every second counts with a snakebite. My baby sat there 40 minutes before they took him for “treatment”. That is animal abuse !!!!They told me they would have to keep him 24-48 hrs. And would call me with updates. I left trusting these people to treat, take care, and save my baby’s life. I drove home. Boy oh boy if I could take back time, I would have NEVER left my baby with someone (vet) that I’m not familiar with. I would have stayed by his side. The next morning the vet Mrs. Campbell called me (approximately 8:00 am). She stated my dachshund was doing good, vitals were good, he responded well the the anti-venom, she checked his platelets levels, ALL WAS GOOD. She said she thought he would recover from the bite. She left and a different vet Mr. Mathers took over. He called me at approximately 8:40 am and stated my baby is swelling and they need to administer a second anti-venom. This would cost $625.00. ••Note•• I had already paid $800 for the first vial of anti-venom. Not sure why the second was cheaper. But anyway, I told him to go ahead and give it to him. He called me back at approximately 9:15 am and stated my dogs heart has stopped and he is not breathing, did I want them to perform CPR. MY DOG IS LAYING THERE WITH NO HEARTBEAT NOT BREATHING AND YOU ARE GOING TO TAKE THE TIME TO WALK TO THE PHONE, LOOK UP MY NUMBER, CALL ME AND DISCUSS HOW MUCH IT WILL COST WHICH HE STATED $700. I don’t know about anyone else, but I have always been taught if someone is unconscious, go ahead and perform CPR. Not to wait. Every second counts to save a life. Dr. Mathers did not perform CPR, staff did not perform CPR when my dog was unconscious. They called me first. Who does this? Again this is what you call animal abuse !!!! When Dr. Mathers called to ask my permission to perform CPR, I told him yes please save my baby’s life. At approximately 9:30 am I received a call from Dr. Mathers, stating Mrs. Benton your dogs heart has stopped, he’s not breathing and he has passed away. We have cremation services if you would like him cremated. The front desk clerk could discuss the price with you. No remorse, no I’m sorry, NOTHING. I’m crying on the phone, I’m heartbroken. I told him NO I will be there to pick him up. Then he asked me did I want them to put his body in the freezer. Listen, I just found out my baby died. And they are going to discuss this with me. How can someone be so cruel? When I arrived at Allied to pick up my baby’s body, I requested to speak to Mr. Mathers. He came out to the waiting area. Did not ask me to go to a separate room to talk more privately. The waiting room had a few people sitting there. I asked him what happened, I thought he was doing good. That’s the report I received from Mrs. Campbell at 8:00 am. Mr. Mathers stated he did not know what happened, things like this happen all the time. For all they know my dachshund might have had an anaphylactic reaction to the anti venom. That he wasn’t sure what happened to him. Wait a minute, WHAT? He received the first vial of anti venom the night before, and I received a good report the next morning. If he was allergic to the anti venom, wouldn’t he have a reaction with the first vial the night before?
I was very impressed when I took my dog in for and exam and x-ray a leg injury. Very clean and state of the art facility. Staff was very friendly and professional. The cost of the visit was reasonable considering it is an emergency center.
The kindness and compassion shown was absolutely out of this world. Highly recommended. Great staff. Shout out to Shaun Hall, you were absolutely the Vet Tech. Thank you for all your kindness.
A great source for after hours emergency care. Jared the vet tech was so nice and accommodating during a kitty emergency. Thank you staff for taking great care of our Penny Lane.
I find it hilarious that the lady who was trying to bum cigarettes off of me at the door and smelled like Methamphetamine was worried about an employee not coving her nose with her mask. Not to mention when Christine checked in she said she was there for her cat but she didn’t have a cat with her; she was holding a dead possum that she picked up off the road. The poor employee behind the desk was professional and tried to explain to Christine that there was nothing they could do for a possum thats been flatten by a 18 wheeler two weeks ago. Christine then proceeded to get irate with the staff by pulling out $1,000 in cash and slammed it on the front desk after saying that she had plenty of money from her side job as a lot lizard at the local truck stop. The supervisor told her to leave or the police would be called. Christine stomped out the front door and got in the passenger side of a 15 passenger van that had fumes coming from the back that smelled like a meth lab. Im almost positive that it was a mobile meth lab due to all the empty boxes of Sudafed that fell out the door when she opened it.I swear you cant make this stuff up. I felt terrible for the employees there that had to deal with her bad attitude and horrible breath. This lady defiantly has her priorities wrong because Covid-19 is the least of her worries by the looks of those teeth.
If I could rate this place a zero, I WOULD! My friend and I brought her dog here because he was throwing up nonstop. At one point he threw up 5 times in 20 minutes. The receptionist was very rude. There was no one else in the in the waiting room with me, yet it took them extremely long. I do not recommend bringing your pet here!
For someone panic to find a 24 emergency vet I called and very professional. Getting there I was a nervous wreck and was seen immediately and talked to every step of the way with my fur baby! Sean is amazing with clients and more so with the fur babies! Definitely recommended and thank y’all for everything y’all did for my girl
Saturday 1-2-2021 was my second time visiting this veterinary office and it was just as amazing as the first time I visited. Sure it can be pricey but what do you expect showing up last minute to a 24/7 animal hospital where the Drs and staff dedicate their lives to keeping animals alive? Dr.Deese was very thorough in making sure my cat Kaleesi was okay to go home and kept me informed every step of the way. If you truly love your pet then there is no maximum price to pay and this is the place to go.Thank you sincerely to the doctors and staff of this veterinary office.
Cant really say how they are from a long term care, but in an emergency they were really caring and compassionate. After a 2 hour drive from SGI, they were ready when we arrived at midnight. They were quick to give my beloved pet care who was in the process of crashing. They got him stabilized which allowed to try to get some rest at a hotel. Unfortunately, things took a sudden turn and received a call to come back 30 mins later. After arriving, had a very frank and compassionate discussion with them and came to the conclusion that it was time to ease his pain. They gave me plenty of time to talk and tell him how much he meant to me and our family. After, they moved him in another room and had as much time as I needed to say one final goodbye.
Excellent service today. Our first experience with this emergency service was so much better than I expected. They cared for our dog and explained his injury and his care as well as providing the medication for his treatment.
This place is always my second choice from my vet who is ALWAYS full. They never made me feel like i was being crazy and they were very open and nicely priced for an animal hospital. Although there are sour reviews remember that not all cases can be saved and every time i bring my pet here or my friends bring theirs we only have good things to say, for big and small care. They manage to bring my reactive dog back to me with a wagging tail! Medical isn’t cheap and for people to complain at them for harping at you over the lack of heart worm medication and otherwise care is perfectly acceptable as they are here to TAKE CARE of your pets, not your feelings. Would recommend to anyone with emergency needs, not only are the staff warm but prices are adequate for their services.
I took my dog in for minor stomach issues. They gave me some meds and said I could take her home. She got worse I brought her back. They ended up keeping her for a few days. I was in constant contact asking how she was they kept telling me shes doing good. I was also going to see her when I was able. I was seeing lots of tell tell signs that she wasnt getting the care I was told. I ended up taking her to another vet. Needless to say the damage was already done she passed away within min. They neglected her she had a bruise that she did not come in with when I dropped her off at Allied. I spent thousands of dollars on the care she was supposedly getting only to loose her. They kept coming up with more and more possibilities and no real facts to back them. They kept saying we think. They will keep taking your money and no results.
My Rocki bear was in such bad shape when i brought her in. My primary vet recommended i take her there because she was experiencing some neurological issues and was concerned she may seize overnight. I rushed her over to Allied and they took such great care of my baby. I could barely get words in from crying so much and they were patient and genuinely cared for her. I would call for updates and they were quick to respond with such compassion. Many people don’t understand the love an animal fills in your life. I’m glad this hospital truly dedicates itself to making sure they provide the type of care your pet needs and leaves nothing out.I expected my bill to be pricey, but I’ll do it a million times over if it means my Rocki will have a chance to get betterThank you Everyone at Allied, y’all are so amazing!
Came last minute since my vet was booked up and they referred me here. The staff amazing and accommodating to us. This was probably the least stressful vet visit we have ever had. We were in and out within an hour. So thankful for this place and the people.
I brought my cat, Jamie, in for euthanasia and despite the circumstances I was very happy with my visit. They had a room ready immediately, took care of financials at the start, and gave me time to say goodbye. Dr. Potter was very respectful of the situation and the veterinary staff were extremely kind in making sure I was okay afterward. I had previously been in for an ultrasound for Jamie and chose to come back based on my interaction with Dr. Potter. I would absolutely recommend this animal hospital.
It will be a minimum of $450 to look at your pet be told its far too expensive($3000-$6000 in our case) to possibly save them and then put them to sleep. I lost my best friend Saturday. One nurse was very compassionate, everything else was about money and how much they could squeeze from you.
Very kind Vet and staff. As soon as you walk in you feel welcomed and supported. I was brought back immediately and Sophie was taken care of. They really do take their time to ensure the best for your pet. Thank you to Allied Veterinary Care for the great services!
Was on vacation 70 miles south and while the illness was a non-life threatening respiratory bug, it certainly would have made for an uncomfortable weekend for our dog and a sleepless one for us. There were obviously more serious patients arriving that morning but Dr Kuhar and staff were attentive and as efficient as possible with a non urgent situation. Saved our holiday!
Service and facility is impeccable but receptionist wasn’t following proper PPE protocol. Face mask was not covering her nose at all and part of her mouth. Very unsafe and unprofessional.
After I found a stray on the shoulder of I-10, on a holiday weekend no less, I was happy to find a vet available on Memorial Day. Fees are reasonable, considering the cost of an emergency service. Compassion and caring was evident from the moment I entered. They checked for a chip, and did my requested testing for parasites and possible hidden health conditions. They were able to advise me on the next steps to find him a new home when the owners number was found to no longer be in service.
I selected this vet when we moved here 3 years ago. My dog Thea goes every month for a shot, so I am very familiar with this facility. Just a few days ago, we had to put down our female doberman. They were wonderful and very caring A few days later, we got a very nice card from them with Betas paw print and a piece of her hair. It was so special. Thank you
I wish there was an option for zero stars but sadly there isnt. Before my dog passed away on Friday very tragically, I took my dog here with hope just for the vet to tell me theres nothing we can do its like bringing a rock back to life. This was EXTREMELY UPSETTING!!! Not to mention she also told me to calm down and stop screaming and crying because their were other customers, which is very hard to do when your dog is dying in your hands!!! Very unprofessional and HIGHLY DO NOT recommend. Please take your pets else where, these people truly DO NOT CARE!!
I drove over an hour to take my schnauzer Chudleigh in for having back-to-back seizures he was very sick. They looked him over and gave me an estimate that range from 800 to 1800 and maybe more. But they said they could give him nothing to stop the seizures and that was the whole reason I was there, they were wanting to do X-rays of his stomach and give him fluids and keep him for 48 hours but they could do nothing to stop the seizures Im no nurse or no vet but if you cant stop the seizures theres no hope, $307 later I left with nothing done for my pet they didnt even give him anything for his fever just some fluid in his back under his skin for dehydration that was this past Saturday in the afternoon by 6 Sunday morning I was contacting a local vet and begging them to please help my pet who had been suffering having back-to-back seizures for 24 hours a very kind vet met me on a Sunday morning at 7 in his parking lot, if youre going to be in this field you should have compassion and love for the animal more than you have love for money. I would not recommend for anyone to take their beloved pet to this facility.
My partner and I were panicked when we noticed some irregular symptoms with our 18mo old cat, Sage. With it being 2am, we called Allied to seek guidance as to if her symptoms truly warranted an emergency visit, and were greeted by Shaun Hall, Veterinary Assistant/Tech. Shaun was warm and empathetic to our concerns and confirmed that our cat should be seen immediately. Recognizing us from our phone call, Shaun knowingly welcomed us upon arrival. We had the extreme pleasure of working with Dr. Amber Deese, who was an absolute joy. Thorough, informative, yet warm and relatable, Dr. Deese was able to provide us with solutions to our immediate health concerns, as well as provide additional guidance as to how we could provide preemptive care. To tie up the whole visit, Shaun went over our treatment plan in great detail, showed us tips and tricks as to how best to give the oral medication to our cat, and made sure that we were comfortable with the plan laid out before us. Furthermore, he emphasized that Allied is available 24/7 for future needs, should they arise. Our trip not only relieved our concerns but it was such a drastic — POSITIVE — difference in care than we are used to receiving at our normal vet. We truly could not speak highly enough of our experience!
We had the unexpected emergency at night for my 17 year old Shih Tzu. He was suffering from many age related issues but was in obvious pain and duress so I had to make that tough decision to let him go. My regular vet was closed and on their answering machine left Allied Animal Hospital’s number for emergencies. Check in was smooth and administrative staff extremely friendly. Dr. Rachel Kuhar was the vet we saw. She was extremely nice and understanding of our grief. This was such an emotional time and she explained everything clearly and there were no unexpected issues. Extremely professional animal hospital and very friendly staff. A very stressful event but these folks were incredible. Highly recommend.
They so friendly and honest! No appointment needed over the weekend. We walked in and got great care for our dachshund. Medicine was given at the location as well as his prescription fill. Plenty of parking and they are at a very centralized location. Hope no one needs to make an emergency visit for their pets but if you have to, these guys are great!
Brought my dog to Allied after being referred by her vet. They correctly diagnosed her vestibular disease and prescribed a steroid for the inflammation it causes. You can google vestibular disease and find out that steroids are not scientifically proven to help with them. Me, not being a vet, and trusting the people who are, did not google this until it became apparent that my dog was having sever reactions to the steroid. I called them and asked what to do about this, because her reaction is so bad that I can’t tell if her vestibular disease is improving. They said to just stop giving her the steroid, another thing that you can google to see the negative effects of. Surely as a vet you would read up on the latest and greatest advances in your field? That is not the impression that I got here and some information about the possible severity of the side effects of the steroid would have gone a long way to assuage my fears.
Appoint actually 25 minutes later than was scheduled.
My girl had to come here at 3am after eating something she shouldn’t have, and the staff was so friendly and helpful. The bill was a bit pricey, but it was worth it for the service we received.
One of the most professional veterinary emergency hospital in florida. Everyone in this hospital were extremely caring and friendly. The doctors are extremely knowledgeable. I drove 6 1/2 hrs in a emergency with my pet and when I got there the O.R. was ready. Surgical Tech was waiting for us and Danny was in surgery with in 20 minutes of arrival. Danny is doing well and is home now.
I wish I could leave 0 stars. The lack of compassion out of the doctor that handled and emergency visit with my disabled mother and her small dog that was attacked by a large dog
I went there for blood in my lab’s urine. They wanted to repeat all the tests she already had done on her a couple months ago with another vet. They said the tests were too old and needed to be redone. I also agreed for them to do biopsies. They said they found the correct medicine to treat her. Well, the blood came back. Over $1500 later. I called to talk to the doctor, never got a call back.
On 7/8 my husband and I purchased a 7 week old Great Dane and first thing the morning of 7/9 I called our primary vet to get her in for her first apt. They were unable to see us until 7/18 which was okay because the puppy seemed healthy. We started to notice how laid back the puppy was. Not crying when in crate and not a chewing or hoping little thing like most puppies are. This is our first time with this breed of dog and everything we read seemed to say that for the most part the are lazy. By 7/10 the puppy had zero energy and no appetite. 7/11 puppy started vomiting and had bloody diarrhea. We arrived at the Hospital with her 1.5 hours after the first passing of the bloody diarrhea and we live 50 mins away. They took us to a room immediately and started tests. Test results came back within 20 mins and we had a diagnosis and a plan. Yes it was costly but it was worth it to save this puppies life. She had a blood transfusion along with many meds. They kept her over night and we picked her up the next morning and she was a brand new puppy full of life when she was dying when we brought her in less then 12 hours before. We were sent home with 4 different medications and special food and will follow up with our primary vet on 7/18.HIGHLY RECOMMEND
Wonderful and clearly caring staff. Took care of my dog in record time 💕 so thankful for businesses like this you can rely on even at odd hours of the night.
Thank you to the very warm and professional staff for a reasonably priced and quick visit for my sweet dog.
Very caring and professional staff. They are knowledgeable and explained their diagnosis so that we could understand. This enabled us to make better decisions for our pet.
I can’t say enough about how amazing the staff at Allied is. We were in a pinch when our cat had an emergency and our main vet was closed. We called ahead and were told to come in right away. When we arrived, we were quickly seen by a tech and then one of the doctors. They were very transparent about our options and how much each would cost. In the end, they took our cat into surgery and ended up refunding some of the money we paid up front! They were very willing to see us for follow ups whenever it was convenient for our schedule. We feel very lucky to have such a fantastic 24/7 facility close to home!! Definitely would go here right away for any future pet emergencies!!
I had to put my elderly dog down in the early hours of the morning. I thought he would be ok until I could schedule a regular vet visit, but his conditioned worsened in the middle of the night and I knew it was time to say goodbye. We called the emergency vet and they were so kind and helpful. When we arrived, the technician met us out in the parking lot. This surprised me, but made it feel like I was bringing my buddy to an old friend. I’m really grateful for that technician. They were so sincere and sensitive and gave me plenty of time and space to say my final farewells. I honestly couldn’t have asked for better staff or a better environment to have to do that in. I’m so grateful they’re available 24/7 and I can never thank them enough for how they made me and my buddy feel in those last moments together. Safe and well cared for.
They are truly amazing people! The vets and staff took such good care of my sweet girl! Dr. Dileo and Dr. Potter were the main 2 vets we saw and they worked a miracle on my Caliber! They are incredible vets! Caliber stayed at Allied for 4 days and they let me come in and see her at any time! It really felt like home! 🐾🖤🐾
Allied Veterinary Emergency hospital is absolutely the best in this area for care of your fur babies. One of our rescued babies was seriously injured when hit by a automobile. We rushed her to Allied and the team immediately went to work. Dr. Deleo and Staff put love and experience together and now my Bryght (dog) is running and happy. Thank you Team Allied.....
We really appreciate the caring staff of AVEH, especially Dr. Deese. On a very rainy, tropical storm Saturday afternoon we had to unfortunately take our beloved cat in to be put asleep. Dr. Deese got us in when she could (without an appointment) and helped us along with showing tremendous compassion for our situation which was very needed. Really appreciate AVEH and highly recommend them.
My yorkie Bella was cared for by this staff. So professional and courteous. Thank you for going above and beyond to help us.
Very caring, understanding at a time when the unthinkable happens with your Beloved pet (family member). Our family cant thank them enough. Wonderful staff!
If you’re thinking to bring your pet to this place don’t forget to bring you pillow and your blanket they take extremely LONG
I visited here with my dog and had an excellent experience from start to finish. We were greeted immediately and did not have to wait to get a room (although I noticed the waiting room was large enough to sit comfortably with your pet without having to interact closely with other pets). The vet tech was friendly, and Dr. Godbey was extremely helpful. My dog took to him immediately and he reacted so nicely to her playfulness. Most importantly, he was able to address and resolve some issues that our primary veterinarian was having a difficult time treating. Thank you. I will definitely visit again should the need arise.
My experience here involved interacting with very caring people. The way the reacted to clientele needs was always with a positive and understanding attitude. They did everything possible to attend clients quickly, maintain reasonable prices, a clean facility, and up to date medicine. I highly recommend taking your pet there for any emergency need!
After adopting my cat from the animal shelter, he came down with some sort of cold. Of course it was on a Saturday and I had not found a vet yet. Allied was super quick to take care of the little guy and get him healthy. I was super impressed with the staff and how caring they were. Definitely recommend!!
24-hour emergency vet on Centreville Road across from the post office just before Capital Circle. They answered the phone immediately when I called at 11pm and we got in without a wait, which was great. The techs and doctor were very friendly to my dog. The vet explained a lot to me about what could be causing my dogs stomach issues. The blood work did take a bit longer than they said, but apparently the machine malfunctioned.Of course, nothing is like being at your normal vet, who you know and trust.Plenty of parking. Not a lot of grass area to walk your dog, though, at least not away from the street.Visit fee is $120. Diagnostics are more expensive than at your regular vet because its emergency. They will give you an estimate for everything. Good news: they take Care Credit.
I love this place. The staff are competent and worth the expense if you have a pet emergency. last year I brought my cat in because she was feeling awful and I didnt even have a regular vet in town yet but I had heard good things from a friend about allied. I took her in and Dr. Jeff godby treated her wonderfully, he went through a lot of hurdles to diagnose her and make her comfortable. Unfortunately for me she didnt survive because of how sick she was. Let me say again, yes a tad expensive but it is open 24 hours and WORTH GOING THERE. Im so happy that her last days were good and in great hands with the staff. I would gladly go there again if I ever had a need to. Thank you allied for doing what you do and loving the animals.
Ive been a breeder for many years. I seriously try to stay away from facilities like this. THIS PLACE CHANGED MY OPINION!!!! Excellent staff. Amazing Vet. Definitely had my price allowance in mind. Could not have asked for better care and very very reasonably.
Dr. Potter was awesome! My puppy was really sick with a mysterious illness and he took excellent care of her and made sure I was informed every step of the way. She was in there for 3 days and he was always attentive to her the entire time.
Dr. Dileo and the vet tech, Alex, were absolutely wonderful with my sick cat, Della. The team at Allied performed a thorough examination without causing Della more stress or anxiety, and quickly diagnosed her issue. They also devised a treatment plan I felt comfortable with, and have happily answered all my phone calls and questions regarding follow-up care. Additionally, Allied was one of the few places open during the long weekend - this is a great, affordable resource for pets and pet owners in distress.
The initial impression was very positive. The admitting tech and the examining vet tech were warm and welcoming. Things went south when we met Dr. Dileo. Her lack of compassion was crushing. We knew we had a sick pup. We knew his time is limited. But she just kept talking about not really knowing how to treat our dog without running all these tests. That her “hands are tied” without the full picture. Then, she went on to say even with the tests, she may not be able to help. We were stunned by an almost an abrasive consultation. She then left the room and let the tech come back with our options. We made our decision, opted for some meds. We were surprised they didn’t put the prescriptions in a bag. I’m sure they practice quality medicine here. And pricing was reasonable. We just would have preferred a more compassionate doctor.
I can not speak for their general emergency care, but my cat was seen by one of their opthamologists, Dr. Brown for a melanoma in her eye. The staff was pleasant and extremely helpful. Dr. Brown offered fantastic bedside manner, honest medical opinions, excellent referrals, and a very understanding, attentive, and professional interaction. If I had to receive bad news, Im just so glad that it came from such a truly invested and knowledgeable doctor, and staff.
Brought some baby birds in who had been found in my comcast box in a nest, and seemed to be abandoned by their mother. After feeding them and keeping them warm, I called St. Francis Wildlife who informed me that because it was Sunday, they were not open, but a couple of vet centers in town would keep them overnight on a warming pad, and someone from St. Francis would be around to pick them up on Monday. After bringing in the birds to Allied, I was informed by either a Vet or. Tech that they were “in good health” and I should leave them outside for the mother. After informing him I had been observing the nest and had not seen the mother return, and that they birds were lethargic, and moreover that it would be a cold night and I did not want them to die of exposure, he informed me “they’re well taken care of, they’ll be fine”. Lo and behold this morning, all four birds are dead, despite my best efforts to keep them warm and fed. Thanks Allied.
Dr. Dileo saved our dogs life! We went to another vet hospital before we came to Allied and our dog Caliber was having a seizure for 9 hours and they couldn’t stop it. When we arrived at allied they had the door open and were ready for us! They took her straight back! After 30 minutes to an hour Dr. Dileo got her stable and the seizures stopped! Caliber spent 4 days at Allied and had amazing staff taking care of her!Dr. Potter and Dr. Campbell were A+ as well!
I had a female jack Russell terrier that I bred when she was 2 years old. She had only one pup. I called my vet at the time and told them that she was in labor and it wasnt progressing. They recommended that we go to Allied. So I took my baby there and they took her straight back and did x-rays. Come to find out the pup was to big to pass through the birth canal and got stuck, they had to do an emergency c-section. Dr. Campbell or Clayton was on call that night and did a fantastic job in saving the mother and pup. Was so afraid for both their lives and the staff assured me that they would be fine. Doctor and staff were very considerate and respectful and the outcome was a great experience.
I showed up in complete distress. My cat couldnt stand, she had foam at her mouth, she was coherant, but clearly needed fluids. Upon arrival I stood for 5 minutes waiting for the front desk girl to give a man directions to a store near by, then she takes my cat back and I wait in a room, the nurse comes up to me with a 1500 dollar treatment plan the VET recommended and until I agreed to it they would not perform any measure to help Mika other than give her oxygen. They asked for my card to see how much was on it which I declined to let them do. They said if I want to leave they would call me if anything was critical. I stated I could not afford this and also that some of it did not even seem necessary yet so why would I need to pay for a overnight stay when we dont know whats going on yet. I stayed there the whole time and practically had to be the Dr allowing certain procedures to happen waiting for a result before doing another. The first thing they should have done without hesitation is administer fluids as well. RIGHT AWAY. Instead I had to go back and forth with the nurse for what seemed forever while I had to figure out what the hell to do. They offered no step by step suggestions just wanted me to agree to the $1500 treatment plan before offering any help. Once I got through my confusion and anger that they were letting her sit there without treatment, I told them to start fluids and we will see what happens, after 30 minutes or so, no change, so we ordered a $300 blood test which told us the bad news, that her kidneys had failed and that her toxicity levels were really high. The doctor did say she gave her some kind of medicine at no charge which was nice but my point is they should try a little harder to work with patients step by step and offer more advice and suggestions as things unfold in an emergency situation, no one is going to care about going back to work, they want to be there every step of the way. This is just my experience and where I wish it was a little different. I came out with an $800 bill for day of hospitalization, O2, fluids, blood test, creamtion, and some other equipment charges. One last thing, the Dr. said after I said lets do the blood test was that the blood test may not show whats wrong...which I thought was so unnecessary. It goes without saying that is the point of the test. UGH. I feel for those people I do but people should not have to figure out a whole treatment plan upfront and not offered any other guidance until they agree.
Felt like the dr would not listen to me. Candace she’s a tech she was really nice and very caring but the doctors there are horrible.
Our pup had to have a spay surgery last week. From the the very first people you meet, to the gut feeling you get when you walk in the door, you can tell this is a great place. All of the experience was refreshingly caring and professional. They are open 24/7 even on easter weekend! DR. Potter was such a great guy, very thorough in his explanations regarding the procedure, and you could tell he genuinely cares alot for all animals. We take our relationships with our dogs seriously, and we want a Vet who invests the same level of concern for our fury family members. This place is top of the line service, and the people are all extremely friendly and down to earth. Thanks so much guys! Be sure only to use these fine professionals if you are in need of care for your pet in Tallahassee!
We were in Tallahassee for a family wedding celebration when our little 4 lb, 15 year old Chihuahua got run over by accident by a much larger dog, knocked unconscious. We he regained consciousness, his seizures began. Dr Godbey was very knowledgeable, patient and understanding in his care. We own a large veterinary hospital in Orlando, Florida and know good care when we see it. Id be happy to have Dr Godbey on our team. He was professional, compassionate and worked with us to find the best way to get our little guy back home. The whole team at Allied was very compassionate and professional. Despite a very guarded prognosis, he is still with us and improving every day (he is now eating and walking on his own). Thanks Allied for being there for us.
I just love the people at Allied! Professional, and they treat you like family. Wouldnt go anywhere else.
The staff was very nice but Dr. Dileo was completely rude and she made multiple uncalled for comments. She lacks compassion and decent bedside manner. We brought in my dog for serious symptoms and she immediately was overly frustrated that she hadn’t had heartworm medicine this month and harped on this the entire time. I will NOT be giving them my business ever again.
You get what you pay for. Great staff and doctor. I trust my little paw son with these Drs. My paw son also has seen and been treated by the eye Dr that comes here a couple days out of the week. This was my second time here and I am still pleased.
