My A/C went out on my Dodge Nitro and no one in town could figure out why it shuts on and off. Well, I dropped off to these guys for couple of days and they figured it out. I live 5 hours away from home / my dad and being a college girl going to auto shops some tend to take advantage of you. this is the ONLY place i will go to and trust to work on my car. they are so nice, welcoming and experienced. they always make sure to call my dad to update him on everything they are doing, most places wouldn’t bother. they get my car fixed so quickly, the best place in tally!

I think it is easy to be satisfied with a business when all goes well. However, when dealing with a difficult situation, it is clear how a business really operates. I travel back and forth to South Florida and my a/c died on a very hot day in early September. Newmans gave me the bad news - that it would be a very expensive job. I checked around and the price for the job was reasonable. Everyone seemed to have a very high opinion of Newmans. I had to leave town, so I left the car with them while they waited for the parts. When the job was done, I picked up the car and all seemed fine. The car started to make a loud vibration and it turned out one of the very expensive parts was defective (by no means their fault). Newmans immediately replaced the part but another part failed a few days later and I had to drive back from South Florida with no a/c. When I got home to Tallahassee, they immediately fixed the problem.At every turn, Newmans staff and Mr. Newman were nothing but friendly, helpful and efficient. This is a situation I expected to be extremely difficult and frustrating but Newmans handling of the situation made it so much easier. They were straight-forward and honest in their work. In a situation that was clearly not their fault, they were great. I cant recommend Newmans highly enough. A heartfelt thank you to all at Newmans.

Edit: My boyfriend bought a set of gauges and figured out the compressor was shot. He took the truck back to Newmans, showed the owner the problem, and the owner immediately took the truck in. He apologized profusely and installed a new compressor at a steep discount as an apology. We are very happy to have working A/C for the summer, and were grateful the mistake was acknowledged and corrected. Changed from 1 star to 4 stars.We brought our truck in for a diagnostic. Paid $400 for a repair. They never hooked up gauges to properly test the A/C system, and then said theres nothing they can do when we told them the next morning the A/C still doesnt work.We brought the truck back the next morning and they refused to test it. An employee yelled at my boyfriend for even suggesting the job was incomplete.Now were out $400 and my boyfriends two toddlers get to spend the summer sweltering in the Tallahassee heat because Newmans refused to do the job we paid them to do.Go anywhere else. Newmans Auto Air only wants to rob the working class and make small children suffer.

I went to this business over a month ago because my ac was not working. I was told there was 3 things wrong and was charged over $700. Im a single mother and couldnt afford this but went ahead cause I cant have my children in this heat. I noticed when I go to a drive thru my car blows out hot air when I was able to go back which was a little over a month later he tried to say it was another problem and wanted to charge me over $600. I took my keys and left and now seeking a lawyer. I feel because Im a woman I am being taking advantage of andI paid for rwpairs and was treated unfairly. If all I was told there was thise only 3 issues I shouldnt have to pay for more work to be done. This just bad business

My Ram pick up needed the A/C fixed, and Newmans did the work. They found out the evaporator coil was the problem, and I know it is no easy task to replace, because the entire dash has to be pulled away to get to the A/C housing. It would have taken me at least two days to do it. They started around 10 am and were done at 3pm. They are outstanding in knowledge and speed.

EXCEPTIONAL SERVICE! I took one of my vehicles in this past Saturday, for AC repair (faulty blend door actuator) and my experience was nothing less than pleasant. With limited hours on Saturdays (8a-12p), the mechanics managed to look at my vehicle, give a diagnosis (of which they provided a great, cost effective alternative to the issue) and complete the service well before 11 am. There were already customers waiting when I arrived at 7:30 but the receptionists and other workers were there, ready to greet and invited patrons to sit comfortably until they opened. They were getting people in and out like clock work, simply amazing. For my issue, I had previously received two different quotes both for over $700. Newmans gave me a proper diagnosis and the issue was fixed for $90! I will be back!

The bozos at Dale Earnhardt told me it would be $1100 to fix the passenger airbag module in my G8 GT, but I took it to Newmans and they let me purchase the part ($340) and they installed it AND had it programmed. They saved me over $600 just today, and they saved me over $300 last year when they replaced my alternator. Theyve always done quality work and the customer service is top notch. You DONT need to take your car to the dealership, people! Do your research, find out how much the OEM parts sell for, and take your car to a local mechanic you can trust. Some of the best mechanics and most professional. Very reasonable and not looking to get over how alot of shops do.They not only gave me the proper diagnosis for my 05 Licoln Ls with the A/c being out. But they told me what all parts to obtain. Walked me through showing me the proper part(s) to obtain (credit to Rodney Jr) for the one i was not familiar with. But ultimately when i gathered all the parts and parts that was not needed they did the labor at a very reasonable price, but had my a/c back in perfect condition.I also give them credit for giving me the proper diagnosis to the problems with my suspension in which another shop misdiagnosed.*Bonus when using their services, they offer rides to locals who may be dropping their vehicles off for automotive work and still need a ride to work. VERY VERY CONVENIENT.I personally recommend this shop!

Newmans came highly recommended and has good online reviews. Took truck to have bushings replaced on passenger side sway bar link. Showed tech a picture of the sway bar link i took with my phone. Tech said I would be contacted when the repair was complete. I called 15 minuted before closing to inquire about the truck. Was told there is no problem with the sway bar link bushing and two engine block bolts had been tightened for no charge. I appreciate the loose bolts being tightened for free, worth one star, but the original issue remains. The top bushing under the passenger side sway bar link is almost completely gone! Wish I knew how to post the pic I took...this was a very obvious problem.

I was recommended Newmans by the reviews here, and I was not disappointed. I walked in on Friday morning at 830 with my A/C blowing warm. They took the car and gave me a lift home, all the way up to Bradfordville. Before the driver even dropped me off, theyd called me with a diagnosis and a quote (lower than market). Before I could even finish lunch, they called to say the car was ready . Highly recommended!

Newmans has kept me and my daughter on the road for years. They are always honest and friendly. When my daughters car needed a special key to change a flat tire, they made a trip across town to purchase the key so she could drive her car again. Service is amazing. Wow, I cant believe the experience I had with buying a used 2005 Nissan Frontier... First, It was priced about 2-3k less than the lowest private party price! I jumped on it as soon as I could knowing it was a good deal. I knew that a vehicle priced that low must come with some issues and it did. What I didnt expect was that Rodney was willing to fix them! I bought the truck as is, and Rodney went above and beyond to get the truck all ship shape. He was even willing to fix a issue that showed up after I bought the truck. If you like a no frills old fashioned mechanic, this is your place. The knob for my heater broke and I called and they told me come over, theyd get my heater on. They replaced it with a used one and wouldnt charge me although the guy spent a few minutes to get the knob to fit. Thank you! This was my first time there and the place is a real mess so not sure if Id go for regular maintenance.

If it was possible to give 6 stars, I would.I was directed to Newman’s from an employee at Autozone because I was having some AC trouble. Turned out that my AC compressor was bad and had to be replaced. They were able to get the part and install it in less than a day, which I have a VW so that can be difficult at times. Then on top of that, they took $200 off the bill and told me to come back if I had any problems with the car at all.Then 2 days after getting my compressor fixed, my car stalled randomly when I was coming to a stop. I thought it was a fluke, but it happened again. So I called Newman’s and asked if they could check it out, they said no problem! I brought it in the next morning and they said it was a vacuum leak in the engine, so they replaced all the hoses FOR FREE and got me the car back the same day. Unfortunately, my car kept stalling and I brought it back to Newman’s because they’re very trusting and kind people. They couldn’t find another leak so they replaced a sensor on the engine harness AGAIN FOR FREE and since then my car has stopped stalling.On top of how much they helped me to quickly get my car back and solve the issue, they offered a free ride to work or my house from their shop, which is a huge service to offer and sets them apart from any shop in Tallahassee.Great people. Great service. 11/10 recommend

Very friendly service. Took my car in on a Saturday morning to get the A/C fixed and it was ready within a few hours. Very pleased.

I had them install a new ac compressor and when i picked it up, it was barely blowing cold and FAR overfull of refrigerant. Here i am not 8 months later looking for someone to fix my ac that they couldnt install properly. Waste of money.

If you want it done right and done fair I would go here. I have since moved away and always wish I could find service similar to this place.

Very upset. Went to get my coolant reservoir tank replaced and got told it was under alot of parts. Win me being the busy man that I am I did not have time to check and locate this part. My car was overheating on Monday and they did not start it until Wednesday. I paid 525$ for a n 80$ part with 4 maybe 5 hours of labor when the part that was supposed to be replaced was in plain sight. Mind you I sent my wife up there to have it fixed and she was taken advantage of. Long story short I paid 525$ and I still have the same problems that the car came in there with.(Cadillac CTS). I also was charged for the replacement of an coolant hose that is worn out. I really cant believe they did this to me. I was a loyal customer for 4 years now. I guess I will be up there bright and early in the morning!

My 2005 Trailblazers (my 7 days a week work and personal vehicle) a/c stopped working suddenly--which, during a Tallahassee August, is miserable. I called and spoke with Jenny at 7:30 am on a Friday; once she verified with her manager that they could do an a/c check, they said come on in!. I arrived at 8:45 am. By 9:45 am, they had checked and diagnosed the problem, ordered a new wiring harness for compressor (pesky wild critters apparently chewed wiring), got part, installed it (at a VERY low fee!!) and I was on my way!! Given that Ive just had to sever ties with my long time (12 years?) mechanic over repeated discourtesy/disrespect, lack of reliability, etc.-- and this after having also referred dozens of others, AND bought three cars from him!!?!?--, Newmans has earned my eternal gratitude, future business and referrals!! Everyone there was super nice and friendly, and made a point of thanking ME(?!), when it is I who am blessed to have found them. HIGHLY recommended!!

I went there with a bad starter and they told me I needed a engine. I am not a mechanic but did not think this was correct because usually a engine does not die with out warning signs. Luckily I got a second opinion. They were also really slow to get back to me and took alot longer than they said they would to diagnose the car. Luckily they do not charge for diagnosis. Also they are very nice and polite and give you a ride home. Maybe they were having a bad day or just did not like my car. I do not know.

I dropped my car off at Newmans Auto Air on Monday, January 25, 2016, upon the recommendation of a co-worker. My Saturn wagon would crank for a while but then would suddenly stop cranking altogether. The issues with this auto repair shop began when I would call daily and be told that they were still reviewing the issue and believed it to be an electrical issue. After days of being told this, I pointedly asked if the repair shop worked on electrical issues, as I got the feeling that electrical issues was not their expertise. However they informed me that they did work on electrical issues, but that the electrical guy had to leave early!On Wednesday, I was notified that my ignition switch was faulty and needed to be replaced, but would also require replacement of my steering column, which I was told was also broken. This would cost me a total of $458 plus tax. I informed Patrick that this was more than I had expected to pay, so he stated he wouldnt charge me tax and the total would be $450! I was also told this would take at most three hours, but the vehicle wasnt ready until Saturday! Or so I thought!Well, I go in on Saturday morning to pick up the vehicle, and lo and behold, the vehicle is having THE VERY SAME ISSUE THAT IT HAD WHEN I TOOK IT IN AND BEFORE THEY CHARGED ME $$$ TO CHANGE OUT MY STEERING COLUMN!!!! At this point, I am upset, but I keep my cool and the mechanic begins to check to see what might be wrong. (Now, remember, I was told the issue was the ignition switch, which required a new $teering column.) Well, now Im told its the starter and they will change it out for no charge and I can pick it up the same day!!!!I do come back the same day to pick up the vehicle and it starts with no problem!!! This leads me to believe that I was charged a hefty, unnecessary fee when all I needed was a starter to begin with that took a couple of hours to install in one day!!!! On top of this, my right blinker is now not working properly, I have to wiggle the key a bit to start the vehicle, and the piece around the keyhole keeps falling out.I did contact the shop on Monday February 1, 2016 to inform them that the right blinker is not working, but THERE IS NO WAY I AM TAKING MY VEHICLE BACK TO THEM FOR REPAIR! I will just deal with the wiggle, as it does turn and crank, and Ill hold the right blinker to make a right turn until I can get it looked at by a shop that has electrical expertise.This could have all been avoided if they would have been honest from the start that they were not experts in electrical issues AND if they had offered to refund some of my money since the issue was obviously the starter and not a whole new column.

Honest mechanics, a rare find for any town. Have had tons of work done on multiple cars at this location, they also fix minor issues quickly and at no charge. Having my car towed to them tomorrow to get a repair quote. Their business is bades solely on word-of-mouth so you can rest assured you will recieve attention you deserve (dont let the crowded lot fool you, if you stay there they will see you immediately about your issues.) I showed up with an AC problem on their usiest day in the afternoon and they fixed it for me right then, under five minutes, and for free.
