Words cannot describe how awful the experience here was. Steer clear unless you prefer to have more mental health issues than you came in with. Now struggling with PTSD after being woken up every 2 hours for vitals and being told that I needed more sleep since I couldnt complete a cycle of rem sleep for several nights here, thanks to flawed processes. Also, I had two crisis events after being rapidly overdosed on prescribed medicine, wouldnt reduce dosage to reasonable levels when requested post discharge.A torture mistreatment chamber to put it simply.

When I was going through the toughest time of my life, I was admitted to Saint Joseph’s Hospital psychiatric unit. I was completely a mess and should’ve never recovered. Dr. Aslum saved my life! Prior to any medical diagnosis, she managed me with medication and found out what works for me and what did’t. She never gave up on me you and always asked me how I was feeling! If you see this woman, thank her for all that she does. She is an angel!

For anyone that truly needs serious mental health care.....be very cautious about going to C-PEP. No doubt they are NOT in the wellness industry. They are in the profit business and the patient is a neccessary inconvenience. Discharged my sister that was admitted with a serious breakdown to the street with no apparent ride or destination. Couldnt care less. A disgrace in the mental health field. They Absolutely need to be shut down....immediately.

I went to St Joesphs Health. I saw a therapist and a Dr. It was okay. The Dr. was great, the therapist nice. I started to adjust medicine and it was good. I am now enrolled in the PROS program here. I love it. I am doing better then I have in years. The staff at PROS is always there and supportive. I know I have someone there when I need it.

Recently I took a family member to St. Joes for treatment for her mental health. She was admitted to the CPEP and they absolutely failed her as a patient. I made several phone calls to check in, try to schedule a family meeting, etc. Every single call was met with her nurse isnt available, leave a message and they will call you back. Not one time did I get a return call. She never had anyone work with her and said all she did was sleep on the meds they gave her. There is zero communication. I called the patient line and requested her, only to have another patient answer the phone. They dont even know which patients are which. Never got her med list right. I went to visit after I already confirmed the hours and that they were allowing visitors, only to be told by the older security guard at check in that visitors were not allowed. I requested he call and was met with attitude, but he did it and they said I was allowed up. The area itself is not very clean. The staff is rude and condescending. They chose to send her home, despite all the horrible things that have been happening with her. We were barely out the doors before my family member says to me I knew I could tell the doctor what he wanted to hear so that he would let me leave. He wanted to send me upstairs to inpatient, but I didnt want to . I have never been more disappointed and disgusted by a health care facility. A formal grievance is also being filed. If you care about your loved ones, do NOT bring them here.

I wrote a Long review, 2 yrs ago, on the most horrible and devastating experience my family has ever experienced. St Joseph hospitals are terrible and I can believe that they treat people of color with disrespect in a non caring and non supportive way. My granddaughter isScarred due to this...I wouldn’t put my pet animal in this place. You all have been warned!!

There is simply not enough space, here, to share ALL my mental health healing experiences at St. Joes PROS-742 James St, Syracuse, NY. I will just say, this place saved my life...literally!! Both the Staff and my Peers enrich my life (that I am forever grateful to God for giving back to me,) every day. I, also, thank God every day, for leading me to take that excruciatingly painful first step, into this bldg which employs (AND helps) some of the most non-judgemental, empathetic, and and truly caring people I have ever met. I DO believe they are doing Gods work, and will be richly rewarded. Amen. : )

Sick place. I went there willingly while manic. The fat female social worker there is highly unethical. She tried to force the doctor into giving me AOT while pregnant! The doctor said no. She then went behind his back when I was out of it and made me sign AOT papers. She knew I was out of it. Im am the ex girlfriend of James Park, the CEO of FitBit. He is my best friend and you are dangerous scum. I think you need some AOT. To force pregnant women to take medication that isnt FDA approved for pregnancy is disgusting.
